It was his break, he excused himself and searched for Jac knowing she couldn't have gone far. He searched the entirety of the hospital, questionable looks from all of the staff but after all, he was determined to find her. Eventually, he sighed in annoyance at Jac's disappearing act but then he saw her out of the corner of his eye sitting on a bench in the freezing cold. Rushing over to her he threw his jacket around her shoulders to keep her warm and she just sighed in annoyance because Kian just wouldn't leave her alone.

"Do you ever get the message?"

"I care about you"

"How kind" she rolls her eyes looking at her ex-lover, she turns her head to stare straight ahead "What do you want from me Kian?"

"Nothing"

"Nothing?" she looks at him full of confusion, it confused her because of the way he was being

"Just come back inside yeah?" Kian tries to compromise but Jac just rolls her eyes noticing Sacha out of the corner of her eye, she huffs in annoyance

"Did you call him here?"

"No, Jac" Kian shakes his head watching as Sacha sits beside her, she tries to get up but Kian gently takes her hand and pulls her back

"What's going on Jac?" Sacha questions gently and Jac just huffs really annoyed at everyone interfering in her business

"You can tell Sacha" Kian encourages her gently and Jac just scowls at his patronising tone, she just wanted people to back off for once

"Ok fine, if it gets Kian off my back!" she exclaims looking at Sacha who was very confused at her outburst "When I was with Clayton...he..."

"He what?" Sacha places his hand over Jac's but she removes them and pulls her sleeves down "What did he do Jac?"

"He..." she gulps looking at Kian, he smiles encouragingly and she shakes her head "He used to..."

"It's ok, I'm not going to judge you, I won't say anything if you don't want me to" he assures her but Jac just shakes her head and sighs "You can tell me"

"I..." she closes her eyes "He used to hit me, punch me, he kept...doing it over and over and...Emma, she's with Jonny because of him...she was safer there"

"Oh Jac" Sacha brings her in for a hug or attempts to because she just flinches away from him and gets up, she storms into the hospital and Kian sighs

"She's just tearing herself up over it-"

"She looks exhausted" Sacha responds sadly and Kian nods slowly "Have you been...?"

"Yeah she's been staying with me" Kian confirms and Sacha nods "It's the least I can do for her considering everything I put her through"

"She'll get there, with all our support" Sacha nods and Kian smiles slightly "I should go...and you should go after her"

"Yeah I guess you're right"

That's what Kian did, he went after Jac and to his surprise, she was actually in the first place he looked. Sighing he sat beside her and she just curled up on the sofa causing Kian to place his hoody over her lap to give her some sort of comfort. Her eyes were tired and red and raw with stress and tears that were threatening to fall so Kian suggested that he took her back to his so she could get some rest. Jac didn't want to leave him though, she was scared of being on her own and it was the last thing she wanted to do so Kian suggested that she just tried to sleep on the sofa but she shook her head defiantly wanting to do something useful.

"Here are those scan results" Chloe enters the room and passes them to Kian, he flashes her a smile before she jumps slightly at Jac's presence "What are you doing here?"

"Give me those" Jac orders as Kian frowns shaking his head knowing she needed to rest "Um?"

"I'll leave you both to it" Chloe bites her lip before leaving the office knowing that a domestic like argument was about to break out between them both and the last thing she wanted was to be there to witness it

"Give them to me" she raises her eyebrows and Kian just smirks shaking his head before looking at the scans "Kian!"

"Jac" Kian rolls his eyes and Jac just sighs "Rest-"

"I'm bored" she complains and Kian huffs in annoyance before Fletch enters the office "This is going to be a drop-in centre in a minute"

"Is it true what I'm hearing?!" Fletch exclaims sitting next to Jac who sighs in annoyance and glares at Kian who just shrugs at her "Clayton was...abusing you-"

"It wasn't abuse" Jac mutters and Kian sighs knowing she was very much in denial and Fletch could see that from Kian's facial expression "And trust Sacha to not keep it quiet"

"Why didn't you pick up the phone-"

"Why don't you just stop droning on about it, you're so annoying! Please just leave me alone all I want is some peace in my life, please"

"You heard the woman" Kian mutters as Jac flashes him a smile causing Fletch to leave the room shaking his head in disapproval or disappointment, they didn't know "Right, I'm going to deal with these scans then we can head off ok?"

"Whatever," she says quietly and Kian just sighs bending down in front of her "What?"

"Are you sure you're ok?"

"I'm fine just...give me space please," she says quietly and Kian nods wanting to respect her wishes so he does what he's told and gives her space...

Kian just sat at his desk and worked, Jac had fallen asleep on the sofa pretty quickly after Fletch left and he knew she was just exhausted. Gently he grabbed his hoody again from where Jac shoved it off herself and placed it over her body to give her some form of comfort. After finishing his shift he sat beside Jac and gently woke her, she jumped out of her sleep and frowned rubbing her eyes tiredly. He suggested that they left so she could get some form of decent sleep as she really did seem like she needed it especially in her condition. So Kian took her home and loaded her stuff into the lounge so she could rummage through her stuff.

"Do you want anything to eat?" he asks and Jac just shakes her head "You need to keep your energy up"

"Kian please just shut up" she snaps before storming into the bathroom, Kian sighs and rolls his eyes

"Jac the more you keep pushing me away the more annoying I'm going to get"

"Ok fine!" she shouts before glaring at him "What do you want from me?"

"Honestly?"

"Well no I want a bunch of fob-offs and lies, what do you think?!"

"I want you" he emphasises, Jac closes her eyes and leans against the door of the bathroom, she bites her lip in an attempt to quell the emotion rising within her "I've always wanted you"

"Kian," she says quietly, it was barely audible from the other side of the door, her fingers clasped around the door handle and she opened it gently, "I told you that I cant keep saving you"

"I'm not asking you to," he says as she looks up at him, her face warranting no emotion "I'm asking you to love me because I know you do, I'm asking you to let me help you instead"

"And it's that simple?" she questions shaking her head "I'm sorry Kian but I just can't see how it can be"

"You just have to...go with the flow," he says quietly placing his hand on her arm, she slowly walks into his body and wraps her arms around his middle "Baby steps, one day at a time, even an hour at a time, I would say a minute at a time but I think you and I know its what the brits call tedious"

"You'd be somewhat correct, maybe you are learning things" she muses refusing to look up at him "I just don't want to be your cure, I just...I want to feel alive again"

"All of this it's going to take time but I love you, I want you"

"I did want you but now...I just don't know" she shakes her head and closes her eyes "I don't feel safe here, I don't feel safe anywhere right now and thats so scary for me, I'm scaring me because of the way I feel"

"Shh come here" he whispers and strokes her hair gently as she presses her head into his chest "You need to rest"

"I need to get away" she says quietly and Kian frowns "I just need to get away from this place, from this world, I just want to disappear"

"You just need to rest then you'll have a clear head" Kian whispers into her head, he guides her into the bedroom and sits her down on the bed "I'll be out there if you need me"

"Kian" she says quietly, Kian smiles at her "Why are you doing this?"

"Because I love you" he responds simply, Jac just doesn't express anything "I could read you a bedtime story if you prefer-"

"Shut it" she snaps before smirking slightly, she lies down in bed and pulls the cover over her body "Goodnight Kian"
