38. Poll Results

Hey everyone! Hope you guys are having a good summer!

So I know that I said that I was going to keep the poll open until June 30th, but I decided to move it forward and close it now. Well, anyway, after checking the results of the poll as well as the choices that you all made in the comments, the verdict is in:

24-17 in favor of the complete rewrite!

Wow, talk about a close one. To be honest, I was actually hoping that the complete rewrite would win, and I mean no disrespect to all of you who voted to rewrite just the first twelve chapters. But there's actually a reason for why I wanted the full rewrite to win, and I'd be happy to explain right.

First of all, after going back and reading through the whole story again, I felt that having Godzilla and the Earth Defenders dumped into Fairy Tail at the start of the Tenrou Island Arc was a big rush, especially considering the whole big seven-year time skip that follows directly after it. Also, I felt that this didn't give the Kaiju enough time to really make names for themselves in Earth Land and unable truly get to know the members of Fairy Tail. That's why I wanted the rewrite because having it start earlier in the Fairy Tail story would help gradually build up the Earth Defenders' relationship with Fairy Tail, have them see the rest of the Fairy Tail world, and also have the rest of the Fairy Tail world bear witness to the power of the Kaiju.

Also, another big reason that I wanted the rewrite is that I believe that the Earth Conquerors deserve to have their OWN story arc dedicated to them as the antagonists rather than be lumped in alongside other Fairy Tail characters. I felt that having the Earth Conquerors and Grimoire Heart team up and bring them in for the Tenrou Island Arc was also a rush. The Earth Conquerors should be gradually built up over the course of the story and not be rushed in as the very first enemies in the story alongside other Fairy Tail villains.

So those are the main reasons why I was hoping that the complete rewrite would win, and I know all of you who wanted just the rewrite of the first twelve chapters are probably disappointed, but I've gotta honor the majority vote. Trust me, I guarantee that you guys will love what I have in store for the rewrite, especially for arcs such as the Edolas arc and the Earth Conquerors arc. And after I finish doing some work on Venomous Spirit and Persona Kagura, I'll probably be taking some time to focus mainly on writing Godzilla: Rulers of Earth Land to make up for the long wait you guys have had to endure for this story.

Anyway, I hope all of you understand and I will see you all for the remake/remaster of Godzilla: Rulers of Earth Land!
