The Alexander Chronicles Year 2: The Secret of Slytherin
Chapter 1: The Second Hogwarts Letter.
The house of the Bonteri, was located just outside London It was big house with a big garden, lots of room including a huge library. It was in that house Alexander Bonteri lived along with his mother.
Alexander or Alex as he preferred being called stepped in to his room, after having had a nice shower. The room was a bit messy; there were some books, parchment, letters, games, an open trunk and a wand on the dresser, but otherwise clean.
Alex had a towel wrapped around his wrist, and was feeling nicely refreshed, and full of energy. He jumped over to the dresser and looked in the mirror; a short slim twelve-year-old boy with fair tan skin, ruffled dark brown hair and stormy grey eyes looked back
Satisfied with his appearance Alex grabbed his wand with a quick flick of it he began pull his clothes out and swinging it around. See Alex wasn´t a normal boy, he was a wizard. Alex should have attended Hogwarts the last year, but he had gotten sick. However, he was feeling better now and was ready to go there. Alex´s good friends Daphne Greengrass and Blaise Zabini were already attending the school, and he looked forward to attend Hogwarts with them. He had studied up on the first year curriculum and passed it, so he could even be in the same school year as his friends.
Alex couldn´t wait. He couldn´t wait to continue to study magic. He was grinning from ear to ear as he watched his clothes dancing around him, and then began flying. As Alex concentrating harder and more clothes came out of the dresser and began flying past Alex. Alex began laughing in delight, as the clothes now were flying in a circle above him.
"And what do you think you are doing!" asked a voice behind him.
That caused Alex´s consternation to break thus making all the clothes to fall on top of him, causing him to fall over "mum." Alex whined as he got up to his feet, and looked at the tall brown haired women with brown eyes. "You ruined the show."
"I hope you not using underage magic to fool around young man!" Cyrina said crossing her arms and looked at her son sternly.
"But mum, it not like they can detect me, beside I got that permission grandpa got me" Alex tried to explain picking up his wand.
"Is that so?" Cyrina said walking into Alex`s room. Alex nodded. Cyrina however walked up to Alex and grabbed him by the ear "Arrg what are you doing?" Alex screamed.
"Now listen Alexander, your grandfather got you that permission so you could practice you spells for school work, not fool around. But it is my decision if you use that permission" Cyrina said letting go of her son ear. "So when I say no fooling around with magic I mean no fooling around. Do I make myself clear young man?"
Alex nodded knowing better than to argue with her mother when she spoke in that tone "Yes mother"
Cyrina nodded "Good" she said and left to say something to their house elf.
Alex placed his wand on the dresser then he began to pick up his clothes so he could put them on. He took his towel of right as his mother came back into the room.
"Mum! Turn around come on, this is so embarrassing." Alex said grabbing the towel up again.
Cyrina chuckled as she turned around "nothing I haven´t seen before"
"Mum please just stop" Alex whined as he began dressing starting with his underwear.
"Are you finished?" Cyrina asked after a little while.
"Yup" Alex said as he pulled a green t-shirt over his head.
"Yes. I wanted to tell you that Hogwarts have sent you a new letter." Cyrina said as she held up a yellowish envelope.
Alex smiled and grabbed the letter.

Alex looked up at his mother. "Uh we have to get Lockhart´s books." Alex had never been one of Lockhart´s biggest fans. He had met the man a few times and personally found him to be to self-centred.
"Hmm," Cyrina grabbed Alex´s letter and read it. "Yes, we have to find some other books you can read."
"But mum," Alex said, "uh when can we get my books?"
"We can go this weekend." Cyrina said.
Alex signed, but nodded nonetheless. It was Wednesday now, so it wasn´t that long of a wait.
…
The date that Alex´s mother had picked could be better that much mother and son could agree on. It turned out that Gilderoy Lockhart was hosting a book signing at Flourish and Blotts. Cyrina all most wanted to cancel, but they did have to get Alex´s books and many of his friends would be there as well.
Flourish and Blotts was very crowded, it seemed all most everyone wanted a signed Lockhart book. Alex spotted serval people that he knew like Susan Bones and Blaise. Alex smiled as he walked up the latter, "hey." Blaise looked like he himself. He was tall, had dark skin, very short black hair, and brown eyes.
"Hey man," Blaise greeted by giving Alex a high five. "So are you ready for school?"
"Yeah."
"Have you been sorted yet?"
Alex shocked his head. "No, Dumbledore told me that I will be sorted with the new first years."
"So you are a little firsty."
Alex rolled his eyes, "yeah but I am the quickest to graduate and be a second year. I mean what I am a first year in like two minutes."
Blaise laughed, "Right smarty pants."
"Aw it sounds like you are jealous."
Both boys began to laugh.
"So have you seen Daphne yet?" Blaise asked. "I saw that her and Tracey in here. They were already in the line, but we talked about meeting up later. Would you like to join?"
Alex smiled, "sure. I mean I have to ask my mum first, but yeah."
Luckily, Cyrina said yes, and as Cyrina got line to pay for Alex´s books, Alex began to wandering the book shop. Cyrina had promised that they could take another look in here the following Monday, but it couldn´t hurt to see if there was some interesting books on curses or something."
As Alex got a bit nearer he could see Gilderoy Lockhart. The man was sitting at a table surrounded by large pictures of himself. The real Lockhart was wearing a blue ropes that matched his blue eyes. Alex rolled his eyes as a photographer pushed a red haired boy with many freckles aside to get better pictures.
Alex locked back at Lockhart when the wizard jumped to his feet and shouted, "It can´t be Harry Potter."
Everybody began chatting excitedly, and Alex watched as Lockhart grabbed a small and skinny, black haired, with green eyes with round glasses. Alex frowned was that Harry Potter? He looked pretty ordinary and sort of familiar. Where had Alex seen him before?
The rude photographer quickly began taking pictures, which again was rude, because Alex hadn't head Potter agree to that.
Lockhart then grabbed Potter´s side. "Ladies and gentlemen" he began, "What an extraordinary moment this is. It is the perfect time to tell you all that when young Harry went to this shop to buy my complete autobiography, which he will get free of charge" the last part got the crowed to clap.
"He had no idea, that he would so much more than my books magical me, he would also get the real me. Yes ladies and gentlemen, I will be teaching defence against the dark acts, at Hogwarts this year."
That got the crowed to clap even more. Alex was merely irritated "He going to teach? Are they given that job away?" he mumbled causing two boys to laugh.
"Nice one." One of them said. The two boys were twins. They looked like the other red haired boy that had been with Potter. The red hair and freckles. Could they be from the Weasley family?
"Thanks," Alex said and gave polite smile. "My name is Alexander Bonteri."
"I am Fred Weasley," said the one twin, confirmed that they indeed were from the Weasley family. "that is my brother George.
"Nice to meet you," Alex greeted as he heard Draco Malfoy´s voice.
"I'll bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter? Famous Harry Potter! Can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page," Alex turned to see Malfoy standing in front of Potter, the Weasley, a girl that also appeared to be a Weasley and a girl with bushy hair and very large front teeth.
"Leave him alone," said the Weasley girl in a small voice.
"Oh look, Potter. You've got yourself a girlfriend," Malfoy smiled.
"Malfoy, I bet you are surprised to see Harry here" The male Weasley sneered.
Malfoy looked back at the boy with disgust "Not as surprised as seeing you here Weasley, I bet your family have to stave for a month to buy these books"
Alex felt the anger rush up in him. Malfoy was really something, he was so vile. The Weasley boy looked like he was ready to punch him, but Potter and the bushy haired girl stopped him.
"Ron" A man that Alex assumed was the family´s father walked over to them.
"Well Weasley senior" said a cold voice behind Draco it was Lucius Malfoy. He grabbed Draco´s shoulder,
"Draco behave" Malfoy sneered then looked at Mr. Weasley "I heard you have busy time at the Ministry, Arthur, all those extra raids? I do hope they are paying you overtime. He grabbed one of Weasley girl´s books and looked at the Weasley children, "but judging by the state of this and your children's school books and robes, I wouldn´t say. What's the use in being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it," Mr. Malfoy said smartly, most likely trying to get a rise out of Mr. Weasley.
"We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of wizard Lucius." Mr. Weasley bit back.
"Clearly. Being friendly with muggles… and I thought your family could sink no lower,"
That comment made the head of the Weasely family jump at Malfoy, knocking him backwards into a bookshelf.
"Yeah get him dad," Fred Weasely yelled, as Alex took a few steps back hoping that someone would come and break this up. On employee of Flourish and Blotts tried, but it wasn´t until a very large man pulled the two fighting wizards apart.
Lucius Malfoy looked lived and thrust the book into the Weasley girl´s hands. "Here girl take it, it is the best your father can give you."
Malfoy then forced himself free from the man grab and left the shop with Draco. Alex signed and looked for his mother, only to see that see still was in line to pay for the books.
"Yeh shouldn't ignored him Arthur." The giant man said. "No Malfoy´s worth listenin´ ter. Bad blood."
"You are not lost are you?" Mr. Weasley interrupted as he adjusted his glasses and looked at Alex.
Alex shocked his head. "No sir, I am just waiting mum."
Everybody suddenly realized that Alex was there. It was a bit weird, but Alex gave a shy smile. The bushy haired girl spoke first. "So I haven´t seen you before, so you must be one of the new first years."
Alex shocked his head. "No I am actually a second year or I will be."
The brushy haired girl, Potter and the boy named Ron shared a look. "If you is a second year, then how come we never seen you before?" The boy named Ron asked.
"Uh because I was sick last year and was home schooled."
"Then yeh name is Alex?" The giant man said, making Alex nod. "Dumbledore told me about yeh. I am Rubeus Hagrid, but call me Hagrid. I am the gamekeeper at Hogwarts. Come I am the one that is taking you to the castle after the train."
Alex gave another shy smile as he shocked Hagrid´s hand. "N-nice to meet you." Truthfully, he was a bit intimated by the man, but he seemed nice.
"I guess we will be in the same year then," the bushy haired girl said in a slightly bossy voice. "My name is Hermione Ganger." Ganger? Daphne had mentioned her in her letters. So it was the golden trio he was standing with.
"My name is Alexander Bonteri." Alex said shocking the muggle-born´s hand.
"Right I am Ron Weasley," The red haired said.
"And I am Harry - Harry Potter." Potter said as he offered his hand. "I am sorry, but have we met before? You seems very familiar."
It was then Alex remembered he had met a boy named Harry when he had gotten his school robes. "Yeah uh I think that we met at Madam Malkin's."
"Yeah that is right. I was wondering why I hadn´t seen you at Hogwarts." Harry said. "It must have sucked getting sick up to Hogwarts."
"I am just glad that I can come this year." Alex said. "It at honestly pretty boring to be stuck at St Mungo's, but the healers were nice enough"
Harry looked like he wanted to ask something more, but instead said. "Right, but I guess I be seeing you around then." He said before he, the Weasely family and Ganger were about to leave.
Alex nodded, and went to join his mother.
"You didn´t see the fight did you?" Cyrina asked as she saw Alex. "You didn´t get hurt or anything right?" she asked as Alex nodded.
"No mum I am fine."
"Hmm, they should be fined for that. Adults fighting in front of children." Cyrina huffed. "Honestly those Malfoy and Weaselys."
"The Weasely family seemed nice enough." Alex protested.
"Hmm I honestly don´t know them that much, but I supposed that either Lucius Malfoy or Arthur Weasely like each other that much."
"At least Mr. Weasely seemed fine to me. He even asked me if I was lost.
"That is something I suppose." Cyrina said as she had paid for the books.
"So uh what is next?"
"We have to get you some new robes, and get you some new potions ingredients."
"But can I still meet up with Blaise and Daphne?"
"Sure, I promised you didn´t; beside it gives me a chance to talk with Agatha for a bit."
Luckily it didn´t take that long to get measured for the new robes and get the potions ingredients. After having walked out of the Apothecary, Alex spotted Daphne outside Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. She was standing with another girl. The girl was a bit taller than Daphne, and her skin was a bit tanner. She had very dark brown hair, brown eyes. "Hey Daphne," Alex said waving.
Daphne smiled, "Alex!"
"It is good to see you." Alex said having walked up to them.
"It is nice to see you too." Daphne said and pointed at the girl. "This is Tracey Davis, one of my very best friends at Hogwarts, and Tracey this is Alexander Bonteri, one of my oldest friends."
The two shocked hands, "it is nice to finally meet you." Tracey said. "Daphne have told me a lot about you."
Alex gave a small smile, "Yeah she have talked about you too. You are a Slytherin too right?"
Tracey nodded, "yup." There was a small pause. "So have you gotten Lockhart´s books yet?"
Alex signed. "Yeah"
Daphne smiled, "I still can´t believe that he actually will teach us."
Alex rolled his eyes, "don´t remind me."
"Come on it will be great having a hero like Gilderoy Lockhart to teach us." Daphne said.
"Daph fancies him." Tracey said with a grin on her face. Daphne´s face got a little pink.
"Shut up Trace," Alex frowned wondering why Daphne would fancy that prick.
"Anyway do you look forward to Hogwarts Alex?" Tracey asked.
Alex nodded. "Yeah I sort look forward to leaning potions."
"Not defence? Daphne told me that you liked duelling and stuff like that."
"Well I do, but uh I am not sure that with that teacher."
"I think you will be surprised." Daphne said. Alex rolled his eyes, "right. I suppose I should keep an open mind." He said and waved at Blaise, as the dark-skinned Slytherin walked up to them.
The four kids had a pretty good time in Diagon Ally, and Alex really laughed a lot as Tracey was pretty funny. They eat some ice cream at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour.
