A Quick Note Before we Begin:
This fic turned into a bit of an epic and all the characters are going to go on one hell of a journey, especially our poor billionaire. There is a prequel of mine called 'The Dying Flames' which is referenced and foreshadowed throughout, but absolutely no obligation to read it as it does get fully explained within this story.
I finished this fic at the end of 2019, Four years after posting the first chapter and since then I have gone through all 400k words of this, painstakingly, to try remove all the typos and format it like novel. As of 01/03/2021 I have completed updating this fic with the amended chapters, which will hopefully make it more enjoyable to read. During this process I split the fic into five parts... but since Fanfic dot net does not have a series function like AO3 this will just be posted in one fic, with the sections denoted internally.
The fic is set immediately after the first Avengers film the plot is quite different from anything you've read before. I've been reliably informed by reviewers that it gets better as it goes on, so hopefully I can convince you all to stick into the end.
Anyway, without further ado, I really hope you like this fic - I poured my heart and soul into it and it's going to be one hell of a ride, so any comment you leave, even one line will really make my day x
