Chapter 5 Pheromosa Encounter
After Ash and Lillie enter the Viewing Room, they find that the giant room is split into nine, and they are in the room with Cufant.
Lillie: Are those Cufant? They are so cute! I think I want to capture it.
Ash: Cufant is also strong as well. I'm sure you can catch it.
Lillie sends out Scrafty, as she knows that a Steel Type Pokemon might be weak against Fighting Type. Which makes Scrafty a perfect Pokemon to use to battle Cufant.
Lillie: Scrafty! Use Brick Break!
Scrafty charges at the elephant Pokemon, hitting it to deal serious damage. Cufant gets back up and then it starts to curl itself into a ball.
Ash: Lillie! It's going to use Rollout!
Lillie: I know. Scrafty, use the chance to go with Swagger!
Ash is confused as why Lillie is going for Swagger, but then he realizes that even though Swagger raises the Attack stat, it makes the opponent confused. Cufant is now confused as it misses the direction and hits the wall instead. At that moment, Ash and Lillie realize that they might cause trouble, but to their relief, the walls aren't broken.
Ash: It is a good thing that the walls are durable, or else the water will come in...
Lillie: That sure is reckless...but I think I have the chance.
Lillie throws the Pokeball at Cufant, and Cufant is sucked inside the Pokeball as it shakes three times. Lillie and Ash are nervous, but it turns into relief as Cufant is captured.
Lillie: I got a Cufant, now I have another Steel Type Pokemon.
Ash: (Smiles at Lillie) Good for you.
Then Lillie chooses her next target, and it is a Chinchou in the bottom left corner.
Lillie: Serperior! Use Attract!
Serperior winks and creates hearts to make one of the Chinchou infatuated, and Lillie uses the chance to throw a Pokeball. After having three shakes, the Pokemon is also captured as well.
Lillie: Good. I have a Chinchou now. (Taking out a Poke Gear and scanning the Pokeball) Now I should check its ability, I wonder what it is going to be.
Ash: (Confused) Why are you checking its ability? I mean...is there something special with Chinchou's ability?
Lillie: Because I want its ability to be Volt Absorb, Illuminate raises the wild encounter, and Water Absorb deals with Water. Dealing with Electric Type is better.
Lillie checks the ability and she is excited, it is Volt Absorb, which means that Chinchou can absorb the Electric Type attacks.
Ash: Now you have captured a lot of Pokemon, I guess it is my turn.
They go to the bottom right room and it is inhabited by Tynamo. Ash goes for Donphan to battle.
Lillie: A Ground Type Pokemon...that sure is a smart move.
Ash: But Tynamo has the Levitate ability, so I can't use Ground moves on this Pokemon.
Tynamo can only Tackle Donphan, which doesn't do that much damage, and Donphan goes with Take Down, damaging a lot to make Ash easier to throw a Pokeball, capturing the Pokemon.
When they get to the middle-left room, they find Phanpy there, and Ash already has a Donphan, which is the evolution of Phanpy, so they decide to move to another room. The middle room is full of Drillbur, but neither of them wants to capture it, as they feel like they already have a lot of Ground Type.
Ash: We are in Underwater, but the Pokemon we've seen so far have been Ground Type in this middle section...
Lillie: I know...(Just then, she gasps as she points at the Diglett in the Middle-right room) Ash! There are even Alolan Diglett in this room!
Ash: (Sees the Diglett and is as amazed as Lillie) You're right. Seeing how this place is the strongest region, maybe we can expect some Alolan and Galarian Forms in this region as well.
Ash sends his Talonflame, as it can dodge the Mud Slap in the air, and then it goes for Flame Charge, raising the speed and also hits the Pokemon.
Lillie: Ash...but the Tangling Hair... (Worried as Talonflame's Speed gets lowered.)
Ash: That's why I use Flame Charge. It just returns the speed to normal.
Then Ash throws the Pokeball and captures the Diglett, having another Steel Type into the team.
The top left room is full with Carbink, and Lillie, who is fond with Fairy-type Pokemon, wants to capture it.
Lillie: (Having Cufant out) Use Iron Head!
Cufant charges and uses its head to hit Carbink, causing it to fall to the ground. Lillie uses the chance to capture the Carbink.
Lillie: Thank you for helping me, Cufant!
Lillie hugs Cufant, and the Pokemon also hugs back. Ash is also happy to see how Lillie bonds with her Pokemon fast.
The top middle room is for Hippopotas, and Ash doesn't want to capture them as he gets hit by the Yawn attack and it still feels weird about it. And for the final Top-right room, there is Beldum there.
Ash: Oh no...(Checking how many Pokeballs in his bag)
Lillie: (Curious about what Ash is doing) Ash? What's wrong?
Ash: Of all the Pokemon, Beldum has the same capture rate as a Legendary Pokemon...which means, it is hard to catch. So I need to prepare for a lot of Pokeballs.
Lillie: Do you remember when you're catching Poipole? I hope the same thing won't happen again.
Ash: (Remembering what happened when he captures Poipole) Don't worry. I am sure it won't happen.
Ash is having Pikachu use Thunderbolt on Beldum to make it paralyzed, and Beldum goes for Tackle to hit Pikachu when the Pokeballs failed. After losing 15 balls, Ash finally captures Beldum.
Lillie: (In a sarcastic tone) 15 Pokeballs, looks like you have a new record.
Ash: It is definitely better than a whole box of Beast Balls on Poipole...
Ash looks around and they realize that they are already in the final room of this Viewing Room.
Ash: I guess this is the final room, I hope I won't need to capture some Pokemon like Beldum...
Lillie chuckles a little, and then they all head back to the Lanturn and ask the Pokemon to bring them back to Virima City.
Once they get back to the beach, Ash and Lillie notice a white figure standing on the docks.
Lillie: (In a curious tone) What is that?
Ash: I don't know...maybe we should check it out.
And when Ash and Lillie rush towards the dock, they flinch as they see that the figure is staring at them. It is no other than the Ultra Beast: Pheromosa.
Pheromosa: Pheru!
The Pokemon roars, and it causes a lot of people on the beach to retreat to the land. Ash and Lillie are now the only ones there and they continue to look at the Ultra Beast.
Lillie: (Gasping in surprise at the sight of the Ultra Beast) What is Pheromosa doing here? I thought we have sent it back to the wormhole.
Ash: And I still remember how it tries to steal our Z Crystals...which is a good thing that I am not wearing a Z Ring now as it is in my backpack.
Pheromosa is staring at Ash, it seems to see potential in him as a trainer. Even though Ash can hear what Pokemon are talking about, but he knows that not even Meowth can translate what Pheromosa is saying.
Lillie: (Looking at Ash with worry) Ash?
Ash: (Looks at Pheromosa as he slowly opens his mouth) Are you...perhaps...wanting to battle me?
Pheromosa nods, and Ash just sighs as she turns to Lillie.
Ash: Do you still have any Beast Balls with you, Lillie?
Lillie: (Opens her bag and gives him one Beast Ball) I have some of them, though I never thought we will be using this.
Ash: (Takes the Beast Ball in his hand and takes out another Pokeball) If anything...Pheromosa is a Speedy Pokemon...and to compare its speed...I think I'll choose this one.
Ash takes out Noivern's Pokeball, and then it roars. Pheromosa uses its speed to use Swift, dealing damage to Noivern.
Ash: Noivern! Use Air Slash!
Noivern spreads its wings and shoots out the attack, but Pheromosa dodges the attack and goes for Double Kick.
Ash: Speed isn't enough...but I already have a plan. (He turns to Lillie) Lillie, please cover your ears.
Lillie is confused, but she doesn't question as she does the same thing, just then, Noivern starts to use Boomburst, which deals damage to Pheromosa.
Lillie: I get it...Sound moves go with a large range, even if Pheromosa can use its speed, it can't go through the attack.
Ash: That's right. Now Supersonic!
Noivern hits the Ultra Beast with sound waves to make it confused, and then it goes for Dragon Pulse, knocking it down to the ground fainted.
Pheromosa: (Slowly stands back up after being defeated) Pheru!
Just then, it rushes in front of Ash, tapping the Beast Ball in his hand, and Pheromosa is captured.
Lillie: (Both Lillie and Ash open their mouth wide with surprise) Did we just capture Pheromosa?
Ash: I guess so...it seems like this Pokemon really wants to come with us...if we just send it back to its world...
Then they decide to talk to Lusamine about the Ultra Beast, and eventually, they conclude to have Ash take care of the Pokemon, much to his delight.
Then they start to find some wild Pokemon in the grass, there are Krabby, Corphish, Shellder, Shellos, Buizel, Slowpoke, and Staryu.
Ash: So Lillie, what kind of Pokemon do you want to capture in the grass?
Lillie: I have a Floatzel, which is from you, so I guess I want to capture a Slowpoke.
Lillie has Ninjask out, using its speed and Fury Cutter, it deals a lot of damage to Slowpoke, causing it to be damaged a lot. And after throwing the Pokeball, it is captured.
Ash: So Lillie, now that you've captured a Slowpoke, what kind of Pokemon do you want to evolve it into? There is Slowbro, and there is a Slowking.
Lillie: Well, I think a Slowbro is fine for me, think about it, Slowking requires a King's Rock, which means that it is complicated. And besides, I heard that Slowbro can Mega Evolve, isn't that great?
Ash: (Chuckles) But you don't have a Key Stone, and neither do I.
Lillie: (Surprised that Ash doesn't have a Key Stone) You don't have a Key Stone?
Ash: (Shakes his head) I can use Z Moves, and I can use Dynamax. But...I can't use Mega Evolutions. It is because of my Greninja that I manage to have a draw against Diantha, though.
Lillie: The Greninja that can change any form? I have read it in the news. You really amaze me a lot.
Ash: (Rubs his head with embarrassment) I guess so...
Here is a new chapter, and in this game, Pheromosa doesn't let you capture itself, but if you defeat the Pokemon, it will just join your team as a gift. It is something that the game does a lot. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be some surprises.
