Chapter 7 Delicia and Crolea
Lillie: We're here! Virima Library!
Ash and Lillie are walking towards the gym, but the appearance of the Library stops them as Lillie loves to read books. The two of them decide to enter the place as they see a lot of books on the shelves
Lillie: There are a lot of books that we can find here in the library.
Ash: It will be interesting to know what we can find here.
Just then, they see a man at the counter as he is asking a librarian some questions. The man has silver hair and he is wearing a black jacket.
Librarian: There's no need to be so apprehensive, Brutus. That was more than 500 years ago. It'll be ridiculous of someone to think you're the same person now as you were then. Ivan allowed me to give you this book when it's our only copy and he donated it himself. That right there says that everyone from back then knows you've changed.
Brutus: I supposed you're right. But I still feel like I haven't properly atoned. I didn't address what I did in public. Until recently, I've been trying to hide from my past instead of confronting it.
Librarian: To me, it is enough that you've realized your mistakes and are making better decisions. But if this is what you need to move on and forgive yourself, it sounds like you're already making a start, and you should be proud of yourself for that.
Brutus: Thank you. Hearing that helped.
After that, the man named Brutus is leaving the library, he notices Ash and Lillie, who are looking at him with confusion. But he doesn't say anything as he leaves.
Ash: I wonder what was that about? I mean...looks like that man is somewhat famous in Ceolis...
Lillie: Things sure are complicated...
The librarian notices them and he just smiles at them, noticing their confusion, he decides to talk to them.
Librarian: Welcome to Virima City's library. Feel free to look at and read any of the books here.
Ash: Do you know who that man was?
Librarian: Oh, that is Brutus. Let's say that he is a man that has a change of heart. He did something bad in the past, but he is trying to redeem himself.
Lillie: I wonder what is that about...
As they continue to read some books, they find a scientist with a Blipbug, and the scientist is looking at them with a curious expression.
Scientist: Hello there. This is probably a random question to just ask someone, but do you happen to have one of the "hacked by Isabelle" Pokedexes?
Ash and Lillie look at each other with confusion, as Ash's Pokedex is actually the one hacked by Isabelle.
Ash: (Hands the Pokedex) I do.
Scientist: You do! That's perfect! I'm reading buddies with this Blipbug. We heard about those Pokedexes and wanted to see what they were like! If you can fill out 10 entries, could you please show us?
Lillie: I think we already filled out 10 entries.
Scientist: You've filled out 10 entries! Let's see what they say!
The scientist and Blipbug are looking at the entries, and after a while, the two of them can barely contain their laughter.
Scientist: These are great! Thank you so much for showing us!
Blipbug: Blip blip! Blip blip blip blip! (You two are interesting people, I want to come with you!)
Scientist: (Looking at Blipbug) I think Blipbug wants to go with you so it can read even more of them!
Ash: (Both he and Lillie are shocked) Are you sure? I mean, aren't you two buddies?
Scientist: Don't worry, it's okay with me if it's okay with Blipbug! I'm not a trainer or anything, we just both hang out in the library and read sometimes. Although if you came back with Blipbug to visit, I'd definitely appreciate it! I might even have something else to give you if you bring me more entries to read!
Ash and Lillie nod as Ash takes out a Pokeball, capturing the Blipbug in the end.
Scientist: I hope you and Blipbug have been having fun and reading a lot of funny hacked Pokedex Entries!
Lillie: There are still more to read, I mean...
Scientist: (Looks at the Pokedex) Wow, you've filled out 50 entries! Could I please read them?
Ash and Lillie have her read the Pokedex again, and she laughs once more.
Scientist: Hahaha, these are hilarious! I don't think I could ever get tired of reading them! You can have this for providing me with so much entertaining reading material.
Ash and Lillie received a stone, and Ash widens his eyes as it looks like a Mega Stone, but he hasn't seen this kind of Mega Stone before.
Lillie: Is this a Mega Stone?
Scientist: In Ceolis Region, Gigantamax has become Mega Evolutions. What you have there is an Orbeetlenite.
Ash and Lillie are surprised to learn that Gigantamax has become Mega Evolutions, but without the Key Stone, they still can't do it.
Scientist: I hope Isabelle writes a book someday! I'll be the first to buy it!
Ash and Lillie are confused as to why the entries are funny, so they decide to check the Pokedex about Blipbug and Pheromosa.
Ash: What is this? New Pikmin?
Lillie: And for Pheromosa, it says Radiant Perfume. This really is hacked...
Ash: (Putting the Pokedex away) I know. It feels so wrong and funny at the same time.
After Ash and Lillie enter the room in the back, they find more bookshelves, and suddenly, a pink-haired girl comes to them with a bored face.
?: Ice! (Sending out her Vanillite)
Ash and Lillie are surprised to see the girl sending out a Pokemon at them.
Ash: Are you perhaps wanting to battle? I think I can battle you. (Sends out Charizard) Use Flamethrower!
Charizard fires the Fire attack at the Vanillite, but it just dodges the attack.
?: IceCream! Uproar!
Vanillite suddenly roars as it causes Charizard to cover its ears, and Vanillite is making an uproar as well.
Ash: We're in a library and the library should be quiet...silence it with Thunder Punch!
Charizard's fist glows with electricity, and then it punches the Vanillite, causing it to faint in the end.
?: (Recalling Vanillite and sends out Mareep) CottonCandy!
Ash and Lillie are surprised to see the Mareep that she sends out, it is actually the same color as her hair, which is not the Shiny that they have seen before.
?: Thunder Shock!
Charizard is hit by the attack, but it shakes it off like it is nothing, but when it goes for Thunder Wave, Charizard is paralyzed.
Ash: Don't let paralyzation affect you. Use Dragon Claw!
Charizard has its claws glowed and then it slashes at Mareep, and eventually, it is knocked out.
?: (Recalling Mareep and sends out Lickitung) Pumpkin Pie!
Lillie: (Noticing the Lickitung) That might be her ace Pokemon.
Ash: I guess so.
Lickitung uses Supersonic on Charizard, causing it to get confused. Ash groans as Charizard has been hurting itself while being attacked by Astonish.
Ash: Charizard! Use Seismic Toss!
Charizard eventually snaps out of confusion and throws Lickitung into the air, and then he slams it to the ground, causing it to be defeated.
?: Cream! (Recalling Lickitung) Sandwiches! (Leaves)
Lillie: I wonder what is that about?
Ash shrugs, as they walk towards the direction where the girl has gone, and they find her with a black-haired girl, who is continuing to read some books.
?: Super Smash Slowbros...That sounds like it'd be a cool name for a fighting game.
She notices Ash and Alice looking at her, and then Delicia, then she knows that they had a battle.
Crolea: Oh, hi. My name's Crolea. Sorry about Delicia coming out of nowhere. That's my fault.
Ash: So that girl is called Delicia?
Crolea: Yeah. I dragged her here with me, and she's not really into books, so she was bored. You handled her pretty well, though! You were startled, but you still kept your guard up in the battle. I'd like to see how you'd do against me, if that's okay!
Lillie: How about I battle you this time? I mean, Ash did have his battle and I haven't.
Crolea: I'm so in sync with my Pokemon I don't even need to give them directions! Go! Ursa! (Sending out Stufful)
Lillie: Xatu, I need your help and use Peck!
Xatu charges at the Stufful, but Crolea just gives it a look at Stufful dodges the attack. It goes for Tackle and it hits Xatu.
Lillie: (Gasp) How is that even possible...she really doesn't need to command her Pokemon...Xatu, use Psychic!
It is a good thing that Psychic Type is stronger than Fighting Type, and thus Stufful is defeated.
Crolea: Still, I just got these new Pokemon. (Recalls Stufful) Now help me out, Astra! (Sends out Gothita)
Gothita uses Play Nice to lower its Attack, and then uses Fake Tears to lower its Special Defense, much to Lillie's horror.
Ash: This is not good if the stats continue to lower.
Lillie: But I don't think that Gothita has some special moves to use...Use Feint Attack!
Xatu glows a little and charges at Gothita, with one move to knock out the Pokemon.
Crolea: (Recalling Gothita) I guess I only have one Pokemon left. Alien! (Sending out Inkay)
Inkay uses Swagger, which makes Xatu confused.
Lillie: Xatu, calm down and go for Miracle Eye!
Xatu glows and now it is capable of attacking Dark Type Pokemon, then it goes for Psychic, which is not very effective against Inkay. Inkay goes for Foul Play, which deals a lot of damage to Xatu.
Lillie: Xatu, finish it with Air Slash!
The Flying Type moves get a critical hit on Inkay, causing it to faint in the end.
Crolea: Woah... (Recalling Inkay) You seem like you haven't been battling for very long, but you're a pretty interesting trainer.
Lillie: Compared to Ash, I didn't have much experience. We are just here for vacation.
Crolea: Oh, so you're here for a vacation? Welcome to the Ceolis Region, then! I hope you enjoy your time here! I think we should keep going, though. I've kept Delicia waiting for long enough. See you around!"
Then after those two leave, Ash and Lillie just feel tired as they go to Pokemon Center to heal their Pokemon.
Ash: I have a feeling we will be seeing those two again...
Lillie: Why is that? I mean...they don't seem to be bad people.
Ash: I didn't say that they are bad. Though I wonder why that Delicia girl keeps saying dessert names? I mean...she seems to only say those words and Pokemon moves.
Lillie: I don't know. Maybe we should ask her the next time we meet.
Ash: But since we have spent a lot of time exploring this city, I think the gym should be open by now.
Lillie: Yeah, let's go check it out.
Here is a new chapter, Ash and Lillie finally meet Delicia and Crolea, those two have been in a special part of this game, and what do I mean by that? You'll just have to play it yourself or wait until the future chapters to find out what I mean. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be the first gym, which will be six on six just like Pokemon Reborn.
