Chapter 15 Cianosa Gym Battle
After changing their outfits back to normal, Ash and Lillie are now at the Dance Studio.
Lillie: So this is the Dance Studio...I am excited to see what we can see inside.
Ash: Me too. Let's go in.
As they enter the store, they find the receptionist as she talks to them.
Receptionist: Ashley is back, if you're here to challenge her, you can proceed.
Ash and Lillie nod as they enter the back room, they see in the hallway, there is a big wallpaper that says, "Right 3, Up 3, Left 6 Up 3, Right 3"
Lillie: It says to memorize that...I wonder why?
Ash: It might be the Gym Mission.
As they are about to enter the door, a Beauty named Amy stops them as she wants a battle.
Amy: Ashley is the hottest Gym Leader.
Ash: Because she uses Fire Type. I know.
She sends out Raboot to battle Ash, and Ash goes for Mantyke to battle. Mantyke uses Water Pulse to make Raboot confused, and then it uses Wing Attack to defeat the Pokemon.
Amy: My Pokemon is steaming! (Recalls Raboot) I wonder who would win a dance-off between Ashley and Kayla?
Lillie: I am not sure about that as well.
After entering the room, they are stopped by a Lady named Shirley.
Shirley: I can battle you while I dance without missing a step. I multitask because I have so much pep.
Shirley goes with three Pokemon, as her first one being Numel, Ash goes with Samurott, having it use Razor Shell to defeat the Pokemon. But the Magnitude from Numel deals quite an amount of damage to Samurott as well. The second Pokemon is Braixen, and Samurott continues to defeat it with Hydro Pump, though it might have been confused because of Psybeam. And the final Pokemon is Houndour, with Samurott still confused, Houndour uses Bite to make it flinch a lot of times, but in the end, Samurott snaps out of it and goes for Revenge, defeating the final Pokemon.
Shirley: I didn't mess up the dance, but I lost the fight. I may have grace, but you have might. (Recalling Houndour) My Pokemon and I need to train. The greater skill we must obtain.
They find a large red and white dance stage, Ash steps on the white panel in front, and the panel suddenly turns red.
Ash: So that is what the memorization is for...okay. I'll go for it.
Ash tries it out by going with the rhythm, a lot of people are watching in awe as to how good Ash is dancing through it, and even Lillie is blushing at how Ash is very talented. And after stepping the final panel, the panels change and they hear the locked door is unlocked.
This is one more trainer, and it is the Martial Artist Joshua.
Joshua: Show me your moves!
He goes for Combusken as his first Pokemon, and Ash goes for Donphan, using Rollout, it continues to hit Combusken until it misses, and it uses Magnitude to finish it off. The second Pokemon is Monferno, also another Fighting Type. And Ash continues to use Donphan, but this time it goes for Slam, and then Rollout again to defeat Monferno.
Joshua: You showed us all right. (Recalls Monferno) When martial artist fights, our movements are like dancing.
Ash and Lillie nod as they finally go to the room where the Gym Leader is, and Ashley is waiting for them already.
Ashley: Welcome to the Dance Studio. So you think you can dance? Kayla and I have both been into dancing since we are little, though our styles are very different.
Lillie: How so? I mean, why do you say that?
Ashley: I'm a ballerina. My movements are slower and more graceful. Kayla on the other hand is faster and sharper. But don't think my battle moves are as slow as my dancing moves! Once my Pokemon get started, hardly anyone can keep up!
Ash: That sounds interesting!
After Ash and Ashley stand at the sides of the battlefield, Lillie is watching from the stands with Snowy by her side.
Referee: The match between Gym Leader Ashley and Challenger Ash is about to begin. Each Trainer will be using 6 Pokemon, and when one side loses all their Pokemon, the other side wins. Now please send out your Pokemon!
Ashley: Here is my first Pokemon, Salsa!
Ashley sends out her Litleo, and Ash decides to go with Hawlucha, who is showing off his moves.
Ashley: That sure is an interesting Hawlucha, but we'll start with Noble Roar!
Litleo roars in a loud voice as Hawlucha shivers a little, which lowers its Attack and Special Attack Stat.
Ash: Use Karate Chop!
Hawlucha tries to get close and raises its fist, but Litleo uses Flame Charge to dodge the attack, it also gives a powerful Headbutt as Hawlucha be hard to stand.
Ash: Stop attacking and use Feather Dance!
Hawlucha tries to lower Litleo's Attack, only to have it use Work Up and boost its Attack Stat back to normal.
Ashley: Here's what I meant when I said people have trouble keeping up with my Pokemon once they get started. And that is Flame Charge.
Lillie: She really is fast. I wonder how Ash can keep up with her...
But even Litleo has the Speed advantage, Hawlucha manages to go with Flying Press, knocking out the Litleo in the end.
Ashley: As Jim said, you really are strong. It will need a strategy to beat you. Here comes Breakdancer! (Sends out Darumaka)
Ash recalls his Hawlucha and goes for Alolan Diglett. Darumaka has been using Headbutt and Rollout at the same time, with the Flame Charge boosting the speed, Diglett has a hard time landing attacks on Darumaka.
Ash: Diglett! Calm down! When Darumaka gets close, use your Mud-Slap!
Diglett decides to do what Ash said and wait. At the right moment, Diglett uses the Mud-Slap to create a small dune, blocking its rolling path, causing it to get reckless as it slams into the wall.
Ashley: (Surprised) How could this happen? No one was capable of beating this...I guess I'll use the Super Effective moves instead. Flame Charge!
Ash: Finish it with Sucker Punch!
Just then, Diglett just hits Darumaka before it can land the hit, and Darumaka is knocked out.
Ashley: Well, maybe I shouldn't go for the Rollout...here is my third Pokemon, Tapdancer!
Ashley's third Pokemon is a Ponyta, and Ash decides to switch out and goes for Greninja.
Ashley: Hold on. Is this Greninja the special Greninja that I heard about in the other regions?
Ash: You seem to know about this Greninja.
Ashley: Of course, it will be great if we battle this Pokemon. Though you might not need to do the Bond Phenomenon, right?
Ash: Maybe, maybe not. I am not sure. Use Water Shuriken!
Greninja is throwing shurikens made of water, but Ponyta dodges the attack, also with the help of Flame Charge.
Ashley: Tail Whip and Growl!
Ponyta uses both moves to lower Greninja's Defense and Attack Stats, and then it uses Stomp to make Greninja flinch so that it can keep using Flame Charge.
Ash: If you think those tricks can beat me, then you're wrong. Aerial Ace!
Greninja goes for the Aerial Ace with quick speed, and it finally knocks out Ponyta.
Ashley: Oh well, so much for preparing everything for Flame Charge. I guess FireTwirler is going to help me out.
Ashley sends out Alolan Marowak, and Ash recalls Greninja.
Lillie: Why not continue using it?
Ash: I want my other Pokemon to shine. This means I'll go for Gengar!
Ash wants to have a Ghost vs Ghost fight, and Gengar goes for Dark Pulse on Marowak, which uses the bone to block the move.
Ashley: It has Poison Type as well, so use Bone Club!
Marowak takes out the bone and hits it with the super effective attack, but Gengar uses its ability to make the move banned.
Ash: Too bad that my Gengar's ability is Cursed Body.
Marowak goes for the Hex, and it also deals a lot of damage to Gengar, so Gengar uses Shadow Ball, only to strike back by the bone.
Ashley: Flame Charge.
Ash: (Annoyed) Are you going to tell me that all of your Pokemon are capable of using Flame Charge? Dazzling Gleam!
Gengar has spread out a giant light to stop Marowak from charging, and then it finishes it off with a Shadow Ball on the face.
Lillie: That Marowak sure is really tough. But Gengar looks tougher.
Pikachu+Snowy: Yeah...
Ashley: If only my move wasn't cursed...here is Quiver.
She sends out Larvesta, and Ash decides to go with Charizard as it is a Flying Type, which is good for Bug Type.
Ashley: Charizard...that is a great Pokemon, but can it dodge a String Shot?
Larvesta has been using String Shot to lower Charizard's speed while it uses Flame Charge to boost its speed. Leaving a huge gap between the speed.
Ashley: Leech Life!
Larvesta bites on Charizard to recover the HP that was lost with Charizard's Air Slash and Wing Attack. Larvesta goes for Take Down, even with the Recoil Damage, it is capable of knocking Charizard back to the ground.
Ash: Charizard, you have to calm down and stop underestimating the Pokemon. Flamethrower!
Charizard decides to stop playing games and it goes for the attack, giving neutral damage to the Bug and Fire Type Pokemon, and in the end, it was knocked out by the Rock Slide by Charizard.
Ashley: My last Pokemon is also going to give you a challenge. Come! Flamenco!"
And the final Pokemon is Balie Style Oricorio, which is also a Flying Type.
Lillie: If I remember, that Oricorio can be found a lot in Ula'ula Island...
Ash sends out Lycanroc for the final one. Using Feather Dance and Air Cutter, Oricorio is getting a lot of crits and Lycanroc is lowering its ATK. But an Accelrock is still capable of defeating the Pokemon in the very end, causing Ashley to get surprised at the 6-0 defeat.
Ashley: I couldn't follow your movements... (Recalls Oricorio) I'm impressed...Emily took me by surprise, and so did you. To be honest, I was a little annoyed at first when you just came up to our table at the cafe. It was the first time I got to see my sister in a while, and Gym Leaders usually don't like to be approached by challengers on their personal time.
Ash+Lillie: (Frown) We're sorry...
Ashley: Not that I think you did it on purpose, though, and I appreciate that you apologized. Emily and Gladion apologized for coming in close to my lunch break, too, but I decided to accept her challenge first since she was polite. Here, take this Passion Badge. Passion is something that you definitely have a lot of.
Ash: (Takes the badge and puts it into his badge case) Thanks, Ashley.
Ashley: I wish you and Emily the best, and if you see Kayla again, tell her that I said hello!
Ash+Lillie: We will! (Then the two of them bid farewell to Ashley as they leave the studio.)
Here is a new chapter, and here is the second of the eighteen gyms. If I didn't read the Wikia, how am I supposed to know which Pokemon they're going to send out as they are all nicknames? There is a good thing about the game is that they have Audinos to give you training if your levels are not high enough to face her. I hope you like this chapter and in the next chapter, we're finally going to the evil team of this region.
