Chapter 18 Draga and the Cave
When Ash and Lillie walk further, they find a girl who is hesitating to cross the bridge in front of them, she is a girl only sixteen years old, and she has white hair.
?: (Shy tone) Um...hi...
Ash: (Noticing that the girl is looking at the two of them.) Hello to you as well. Is there something wrong?
Draga: My name is Draga...Um...I was wondering if you could walk across the bridge with me...?
Lillie: Of course, it is not a bid deal, right?
Draga: I'm afraid of being on bridges...I get scared they'll collapse. To be honest, I'm afraid of a lot of things...
Ash: It's fine, it is normal for people to get scared. Just hold our hands.
Draga nods as she holds Ash and Lillie's hands as they cross the bridge, once they are now cross the bridge, Draga is sighing in relief.
Draga: My heart was beating fast the whole time, but we made it... thank you.
Ash: No problem. And we are now at the entrance of the Cave of Resolve.
Lillie also notices a Marble and a Mega Stone on the road, she picks them up and she notices that the Mega Stone is a Drednawite, so she puts it in her backpack.
Draga: (Notices the darkness from the cave.) Although I just remembered there's the Cave of Resolve to get through too... I was so focused on crossing the bridge that I forgot about that...
Lillie: (Sigh) I think that Cave of Resolve might be safe.
Draga: (Scared) But it is still a cave... (Looking helpless at Ash and Lillie.) If it's not too much trouble, could you go with me through the cave too until we reach Gellene Town? I think the trip back home will be easier after the cave."
Ash: (Nods) It's fine.
Draga: Thank you very much, and sorry for suddenly springing that on you!
Lillie: It's fine, let's go inside the cave.
Ash and Draga nod as they walk into the cave, continuing to hold hands so that Draga can feel easier.
Once they are inside the cave, they find that the cave is not that dark, and there aren't anyone in the cave as well.
Draga: So, as I said before, this cave should be safe...Battles between trainers aren't allowed here, so we probably won't have to deal with that. The Pokemon in the area like to spar with each other, but they'll leave us alone unless we approach them first.
Ash: I see...you're just afraid of the lack of sunlight in the cave, right?
Draga: (Nods) And we don't need to explore all of the cave. Going from the waterway to Gellene, the path is very short. So as long as nothing out of the ordinary happens, this should be quick and uneventful...let's hope it is!
As they walk forward, they find a group of Geodude fighting against a group of Roggenrola.
Lillie: So you said that if we don't approach them, they'll leave us alone, right? (Draga nods.) But I think I want to have a Golem in my team.
Ash: As for Roggenrola...I already have a Gigalith, so I don't think I would need one.
She sends out Chewtle and goes for Water Gun, gaining the Pokemon's attention. And Geodude goes for Rollout at them, but Chewtle uses Bite to stop it, and Lillie uses the chance to capture it.
Lillie: So how did you capture a Gigalith? I mean, I am really curious.
Ash: Well, I caught it in Unova, as some Roggenrola are taken by Team Rocket to create a powerful machine.
Lillie: I see, you send them to blast off, and you capture one of the Roggenrola, is that right?
Ash: To be honest, they didn't blast off in Unova, they had Jet packs. But after their boss failed to capture a Mythical Pokemon, they are going back to being blasted off.
Lillie: Just like that Bewear...speaking of which, I wonder how it is doing?
Ash shrugs as they continue their road. And they find a group of Meditite fighting against a group of Machop.
Ash: You know, I think I already have a lot of Fighting Type, but I think I might want a Machamp as well.
Lillie: Then you go fight for the Machop, while I'll go for the Meditite.
Then he goes for Pidgeot, and it uses Gust to knock the group of Pokemon, and then Ash and Lillie use the chance to capture a Machop and a Meditite and quickly flee before they get back up and attack them.
They also find a Mienshao that is doing some training, and Lillie feels like she wants to have a Fighting Type Pokemon as well. She goes with Xatu and uses Confuse Ray, making the Pokemon confused and hit itself, and when it goes for High Jump Kick, it misses and injured itself, so Lillie uses the chance to capture it.
Ash: This place sure has a lot of Fighting Type Pokemon...
Lillie: I agree. What about you, Draga?
They only see that Draga is still closing her eyes, not wanting to see what is in the cave, and the two of them can only sigh.
They continue to see an Onix battling a Tyrogue, one of the Tyrogue evolves into a Hitmonchan. Ash and Lillie decide to continue capture as they capture each one. Ash goes for Onix while Lillie goes for Hitmonchan.
Ash has Feebas uses Hydro Pump on Onix, even though Feebas is a little scared at the big opponent, but with Ash's encouragement, it manages to defeat Onix to make Ash capture the Pokemon. As for Lillie, she has Altaria battle the Hitmonchan, even though it gets hit by Ice Punch, but Altaria still defeats it with Moonblast.
After capturing two more Pokemon, they also find a group of Dunsparce fighting against a group of Makuhita.
Ash: In the past, I would often try to catch a Dunsparce, but after failed a lot of times, I don't think that I want to capture this Pokemon again.
Lillie: Well, I'm going to capture a Makuhita. After seeing Mr. Hala's Hariyama, I feel like I want to use one as well.
Lillie then uses Meditite to battle the Pokemon, and after using Confusion on Hariyama, Lillie also uses the chance to capture it, adding another Fighting Type into the team.
Ash: There sure is a lot of Pokemon...maybe the next gym is a Fighting Type?
Lillie: Or perhaps it isn't even a Fighting Type...
The final set of Pokemon they find in the cave is Mankey and Crabrawler, and the three of them decide to leave them alone as they quickly get out of the cave. They really don't want Draga to stay here for so long seeing how scared she is.
After getting outside of the cave, they find themselves in front of a town that is a little spooky, but not that horrible. Draga also opens her eyes and sighs in relief, as they are at Gellene Town.
Draga: We made it to Gellene Town! Thank you very much for helping me cross the bridge and get through the cave!
Lillie: No problem, we're glad we can help.
Draga: I think I'll be okay by myself for now. There is one other cave just before I reach home...but that's far away from here, so I'll figure something out then.
Ash: So your home is not Gellene Town?
Draga: I didn't mention it before, but I'm not from Gellene Town, I'm from Tullborn City, which is a few cities away from here still. The reason I came all the way here was to visit my uncle, who runs the Cianosa Cafe.
Lillie: Hey, we had been there for once.
Ash: Yeah. It is a great place and the food is good as well.
Draga: I always end up asking for help on the way there and back ^^;
?: Jang-mo!
Just then, a Jangmo-o appears and Draga turns around and faces the small dragon Pokemon.
Lillie: Hey, that's a Jangmo-o...and it came out of the cave?
Draga: (Notices the Dragon Pokemon and pets it.) Were you listening to our conversation just now?
Jangmo-o nods, and Draga starts to touch Jangmo-o, and energy is pouring at the Pokemon. Ash feels like what Draga was doing is similar to something that he had seen before in Unova.
Draga: (Removes her hand) I-in that case, would you be willing to go with me until I get to Tullborn? (Jangmo-o nods again.) Thank you so much! I'll do my best to make sure we have a safe and fun trip!
Draga takes out a Pokeball and then she captures the Jangmo-o, much to their surprise.
Draga: Jangmo-o aren't native to the Cave of Resolve. They actually live in Premoggin Canyon, which is closer to Tullborn than here.
Ash: But how did it get here?
Draga: There's a tradition where some of them go to the Cave of Resolve to train, though! (Looks at the Pokeball.) This is my first time seeing one coming through here!
Lillie: (Whispers to Ash) Is that the same Draga we met back before we go past the cave? I mean, she somehow acts differently...
Ash: I don't know...perhaps it is because of her love with Dragon-Type Pokemon? Maybe she is the Dragon leader in Ceolis...
Draga: (Hearing Lillie's whisper.) Oh, did you get caught off-guard when I suddenly went from timid to super enthusiastic? I'm really light up whenever I'm talking about Dragon-type Pokemon!
Ash: I think you reminded me of one of my friends as well. (He starts to remember how Iris, the current Unova Champion, was doing the same thing as her.)
Draga: Maybe we should get going soon, though. I'm sure Jangmo-o wants to go home just like I do.
Draga suddenly sends out Jangmo-o out again, and then she hugs the Pokemon.
Draga: Are you ready to head out? (Jangmo-o nods.) Then we'll make our way home now! (Turns to Ash and Lillie.) Thanks again! Maybe we'll see each other later on down the road!
Then Ash and Lillie see Draga leaving with Jangmo-o as they are out of their sight, much to their confusion.
Lillie: If she doesn't like going into caves? Why didn't she just fly her Pokemon back home?
Ash: Maybe she is scared of heights too? But let's go to the Pokemon Center to heal.
Lillie nods, and then they go to the Pokemon Center before exploring the town.
Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, I introduce another one of the Gym Leaders in Ceolis Region, Draga, who specializes in Dragon Type. And there is actually a section in the Cave of Resolve that you'll need the HM for Strength to use, that's where you can find Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, and a Poliwrath. I hope you like this chapter, and the next chapter will be exploring Gellene Town.
