Chapter 19 Gellene Town
Ash and Lillie are now at the Pokemon Center, and on the way, they find a lot of Hex Maniacs with Ghost Type Pokemon.
Ash: I think that the gym of this town is actually a Ghost Type Gym...
Lillie: Ghost Type...it sure is one of the types that are hard to deal with...
They also notice the new Nosy News, and they decide to see what's going on.
Nosy Nosepass: Good whatever time of day it is for you, viewers! I'm Nosy Nosepass here at Nosy News, keeping you up to date on the latest happenings in the Ceolis region! If you live here in Ceolis, you've probably heard about the seven individuals I've tentatively referred to as the Fruit Squad before.
Ash: (Notices Lemon in one of the seven people.) Hey! That's the person who challenged me before our lunch date at Cianosa Restaurant! Lemon!
Lillie: So she is the one? But why?
Nosy Nosepass: We knew who they are, and some of us know one of them personally even. They didn't show up out of nowhere. But what they did start doing out of nowhere is wear fruit costumes and go by their representative fruit instead of their names, and we still don't know why! Their friends and family are just as in the dark as we are! What's more, they've apparently been scouting trainers recently, testing them in battle. What could this mean? Is this all just a social experiment, or does it go deeper than that? Hopefully, we'll find out someday soon! This has been Nosy Nosepass! Thank you for listening in!
After the news end, Ash and Lillie are looking at each other.
Lillie: So they are scouting trainers, and one of them is scouting you...why is that?
Ash: I don't know...but she told me that she would tell her friends about me...maybe we might meet another one of them as well.
After resting a little, they decide to walk around the town. They meet a boy as he gives them an item.
Boy: Wonky Woods is a spooky place. If you're going there, you should take this. (Gives Cleanse Tag)
Ash and Lillie are confused that the boy gives them an item that can defend the Pokemon from coming closer, but they don't say anything as they leave.
Lillie: (Notices a building's sign) Gentlemen's Club? What is that?
Ash: Maybe we should check it out.
As they enter the building, they find seven Gentleman sitting on the sofa talking. Then the leader of the club notices the two of them.
Gentleman: Hello there, child. I'm the acting chairman of the Gentleman's Club. Our official chairman and founder is away at this time. My name is Sir Chester, and I'm from Circhester.
Ash and Lillie feel a chill from the man, maybe it is because of the joke, or perhaps he comes from a cold place.
Gentleman: You two lack the qualifications to be a member, but no qualifications are needed to battle us. Let's put on a good show!
The gentleman then decides to battle Ash and Lillie. He is using five Pokemon from Galar, Corvisquire, Mime Jr., Thievul, Yamper, and Snom. Lillie is the one who battles as she uses her strategy to defeat every one of the Pokemon with ease.
Gentleman: Magnificent! You battle like a true gentleman. (Recalls Snom) Most impressive for someone your age. As a memento of our battle, you can have this.
Lillie receives a Nugget, and then she puts it away into her bag.
Gentleman: You're always welcome here. I look forward to hearing tales of your adventures!
Ash and Lillie nod as they leave the club, but before they do, they also battle six of their members for the Pokemon experience.
They also arrive at a mysterious tent, and they find a woman sitting in front of them.
Fable: Greetings, travelers. I'm Fable, aka the False Fortune Teller.
Lillie: False Fortune Teller? I know there is a fortune teller, but what do you mean by a false fortune teller?
Fable: I'm sure that you have heard of fake psychics who give "readings" that are vague enough to be applied to almost everyone to scam people out of their money. Well, I'm different from them in two ways. 1. I am upfront about the fact that my predictions are made up. 2. I'm not vague. The predictions I give are extremely specific and more unlikely than you being granted access to Area S1.
Ash: Area S1? Never heard about that place.
Lillie: (Shrug) Me neither.
Fable: It sounds pointless, but it's actually great marketing. If a restaurant claimed to have the worst food in Ceolis, people would go just to see how bad it is. I'm kind of waiting for the day something I predict actually happens because I think it would be funny. So what do you say? Would you like a False Fortune for $500?
Ash: (Turns to Lillie) Should we do it? I mean, we can help her out by paying just $500.
Lillie: I think we should. This sure is something we haven't met before.
After paying 500 for Fable, Fable starts to make up a False Fortune.
Fable: Here it is. While trying to help out, you'll find yourself in a cave with the company of a dentist that's obsessed with donuts. If this actually does happen, let me know. I won't hold my breath, though.
Ash and Lillie shrug as they don't think that the fortune will work, so they decide to ask an Espeon beside them.
Espeon: Fable might tell false fortunes, but I try to be as accurate as possible! If you're interested, you would just tell me your birth month and I'd give a reading based on which Eeveelution matches the month. But there are more months than there are Eeveelutions, so if you were born in between two, those months are occupied by Eevee! Are you interested? It's free of charge.
Ash: I'll do it.
Espeon: Good, which month were you born in?
Ash: I was born in May.
Espeon: May is the month of Leafeon! Spiritual power! (Glows for a while, and then the glow dies down.) You may start to feel truly refreshed after every trial! You may have a meeting with Shaymin sooner than you'd expect! And here's your lucky item!
Ash receives the Leaf Stone from Espeon, and Ash is still confused.
Lillie: Shaymin is the Gratitude Pokemon, right?
Ash: I have met one who is quite annoying, but I don't know if I will meet it again. (Turns to Espeon) Can you tell us what's the difference between other months?
Espeon: That, I can tell you. Like January, July, September, and November, they are Eevee months. The Eevee family gives people born these months their full support! And the lucky item will be Eviolite.
Lillie: Eevee will give you support? I wonder what does that means?
Espeon: For February, it is a Sylveon month. People born this month should consider singing! And they might have a meeting with Diancie sooner than they'd expect! And the lucky item will be Shiny Stone.
Ash: (Seeing Espeon showing idol outfits behind a tent.) Wow...I guess those from February might become idols...
Espeon: For March, it is a Jolteon month. People born this month should consider a trip to the Game Corner! Perhaps if they'd like a prize, they won't even need coins! And they might have a meeting with Raikou sooner than they'd expect! And the lucky item will be Thunder Stone.
Lillie: That might be great, I guess. Who doesn't want free items?
Espeon: For April, it is a Vaporeon month. People born this month should consider shopping at the Sea Star Society! Perhaps they won't need any Heart Scales to purchase anything! And they might have a meeting with Suicune sooner than they'd expect! And the lucky item will be Water Stone.
Ash: So Sea Star Society does bargain by using Heart Scales? I think I know that for now...
Espeon: For June, it is an Espeon month. Objects that were hidden from people born this month will now be clearly visible! And they might have a meeting with Creeselia sooner than they'd expect! And the lucky item will be Sun Stone.
Lillie: Hidden items...that sounds special.
Espeon: For August, it is a Flareon month. People born this month should consider cooking! They may find themselves able to instantly make something even if they don't have all the ingredients! And they might have a meeting with Entei sooner than they'd expect! And the lucky item will be Fire Stone.
Ash: Well, we can cook, but that will be great to hear about that.
Espeon: For October, it is an Espeon month. People born this month will be able to find anyone at Hide and Seek! And they might have a meeting with Darkrai sooner than they'd expect! And the lucky item will be Moon Stone.
Lillie: Oh man...it will be great to know who that mysterious voice is...
Mysterious Voice: How fortunate that you thought to check here! I've actually asked Fable not to include me in her fortunes. I know they're fake, but it's a precaution...On one hand, I want to have the best hiding places. On the other, I want to be found so people can be impressed at my ability to hide so well.
Ash and Lillie find the third speaker behind a crystal, and they can only sigh as they continue to ask Espeon about the Glaceon month.
Espeon: For December, it is a Glaceon month. People born this month may have an early meeting with one who might change their Pokemon - in fact, they can be called here. And they might have a meeting with Articuno sooner than they'd expect! And the lucky item will be Ice Stone.
For showing them, Espeon calls a Glaceon to the tent.
Glaceon: Hiya~ I'm Cassie. I'm just your average, friendly, completely normal Glaceon...aside from the fact that I can change the nature of your Pokemon. It just kinda happens, don't ask me how. Want me to use my completely unremarkable and perfectly normal powers?
Espeon: They are not born from December, Cassie.
Glaceon: I see, sorry that you can't do it. Bye bye!
Ash and Lillie just feel like what the hell has happened, but they just leave the tent without saying something.
Here is a new chapter, and as you can see, there is something known as Eeveelution Zodiac in this game. You can choose your birth month and there will be benefits to do it. And I was born in July, so I chose Eevee, but in this story, I am going with Ash's birthday to write. And for how it works, let's say that for Leafeon, on every map that has wild encounters and/or trainers, Ash'll be healed as soon as he enters as well as after each battle. That might be good for him. I hope you like this chapter.
