Chapter 21 Forest of Feeling
Ash: (Notice a passage in the woods) It that is the Ranger HQ, what about this road? What does it lead to?
Lillie: Let's check it out.
Ash and Lillie are now entering the passage, and they are now at the place where they are very shocked. It is a beautiful garden with a lot of pink-colored trees.
Lillie: I can't believe my eyes...if Virima Trail gives me the Autumn Feeling, this place gives me the Spring Feeling.
Ash: I agree...look at all the cherry blossoms...It really gives me a calm feeling as well.
Ranger: (Notices Ash and Lillie) Hey, trainers. Welcome to the Forest of Feeling. Stay safe and out of trouble, and don't bother the Combee.
Ash and Lillie nod at the words from the Ranger, as they continue to look around the place.
Lillie: Ash, what is that statue? (Points at the statue that has one of the Eon Pokemon.)
Ash: I think that is Mesprit, since I bonded with Azelf before and I think that Uxie always closes its eyes. Maybe we can see a Mesprit here as well.
Lillie: Maybe. I haven't seen one in person before, so it will be interesting to find out what it is.
As they move forward, they find a ranger with a Bulbasaur.
Ranger: This Bulbasaur likes to sleep for a really long time. I'm here to make sure no one disturbs it.
Ash: I see...let's go, Lillie.
Lillie nods as they leave the ranger alone. And they check the wild Pokemon they can find in the grass. They find Sewaddle, and Cutiefly.
Lillie: I want to capture a Cutiefly...I think I have seen them a lot in the Melemele Meadow.
Ash: That will be nice, a Ribombee is also a good Pokemon to use as well.
Lillie has Dustox out, using Poison Powder, it makes Cutiefly poisoned, and then Lillie uses the chance to capture the Pokemon.
They also find Slakoth resting in the trees, and so are Applin.
Ash: Well, I think I will like to have an Applin. It is actually a cool Pokemon if you notice it.
Lillie: (Looks at Applin) Are you sure it is cool? It looks just like an apple.
Ash: It is a Dragon Type Pokemon after all. Maybe I can also find a Tart Apple or a Sweet Apple...
Ash has Lapras uses Ice Beam to freeze the Applin, and then captures it using a Pokeball. After catching the Applin, they find a store and they realize that the ranger is selling items like Tart Apple, Sweet Apple, Flappletite, and Appletunite. Ash purchases the Tart Apple for 2200 Poke Dollars, and Flappletite is for free.
Lillie: So you want to have a Flapple...why not Appletun?
Ash: Appletun is too sweet for me, and Flapple is better.
Ash uses the Tart Apple to evolve his Applin into a Flapple, and he puts the Flappletite in the bag so that he would find a Key Stone to Mega Evolve.
Lillie also notices a Stufful that is looking at her, and she decides to call Ash.
Lillie: Ash...I think there is a Stufful.
Ash: (Notices the Stufful) I think this place is also good for Stufful, considering Combee and Vespiquen live here...
Lillie: I don't know if I should catch it or not...considering Bewear...
Ash: (Assures Lillie) I think it will be fine. You can raise it into a Bewear that won't try to break your bones.
Lillie nods as she takes out a Pokeball, capturing the Pokemon.
They also find Deerling, Farfetch'd, and Stantler in the forest, as Ash already has Deerling, and the others aren't interesting for Ash and Lillie to capture. Though he uses it to train Beldum as it evolves into Metang. After staying for a while, they decide to go back to Gellene Town as it is time for them to take on the third Gym.
When they get back to the gym, they find Emily and Gladion, who are waiting for them.
Emily: Hey! Ash and Lillie!
Ash: Emily? What are you doing here?
The two siblings share a hug, and then Emily takes out a Pokeball and sends out a Lopunny.
Emily: Guess what? Lana evolved!
Ash: (In awe at the sight of Lopunny) Congratulations, Emily. Looks like you are getting stronger!
Emily: It was my first time actually seeing the evolution in person, and it really took me by surprise! I can still picture in my head when I first found Lana as a small Buneary in my backyard...we've been through a lot since then.
Lillie: Yeah. I can tell.
Emily: I think Lana wants to show you how far she's come since evolving!
Gladion: That might be true, how about I be the referee so that you two can battle?
Ash: That will be nice.
Then Emily sends out Lily, her Petilil, and Ash sends out Beedrill to battle.
Emily: It seems you also get some new Pokemon as well.
Ash: Of course, I have captured some new ones and also train them.
Emily: But still, it is going to be hit by our Sleep Powder.
Ash flinches as he sees Beedrill fall asleep, and Petilil keeps using Mega Drain on the Pokemon.
Ash: Beedrill, please wake up, and if you do, use Twineedle!
Beedrill hears Ash's voice as it opens its eyes, and then it hits Petilil with the super effective Bug Type move, but Petilil uses Synthesis to heal itself.
Lillie: This sure is tough...
Gladion: Emily not only learns about battling from Ash, but I also taught her some of the moves as well.
And in the end, Petilil is defeated by Beedrill's Poison Jab, much to Ash's relief.
Emily: Well, my next Pokemon is going to be Naomi!
Emily sends out her Vulpix as her next Pokemon, and Ash knows how the type matchup is not good against Beedrill.
Ash: Switching out and playing smart is also a smart move. (Sends out Diglett)
Emily: (Notices the Diglett) I see...but it is also a part Steel Type, right? Maybe I should go with Confuse Ray first!
Ash has Diglett dodge by using Dig, and when it comes out of the ground, it hits Vulpix hard. Vulpix goes for Fire Spin, which causes Diglett to be trapped and take damage time after time.
Lillie: That looks very like a beat-up...
Ash: Don't worry. Even though Diglett is trapped, I still can do this. Use Magnitude!
Diglett starts to shake the ground, and much to their surprise, the Magnitude lands the number 8, and it knocks out Vulpix.
Emily: You really don't need to hold back on me since I'm your sister. But landing the number 8 is quite interesting. Go! Azura!
Ash notices that Azumarill is next, so he switches into Flaaffy to battle.
Ash: I know that I'm using new Pokemon against you, but I am not holding you back. I want to give these new Pokemon a chance to prove themselves.
Azumarill keeps using Rollout, causing the Thunder Shock and Take Down to miss, but with the Electro Ball, Azumarill finally stops its tracks as it is lying on the ground in pain.
Ash: Now use Thunder Shock!
Flaaffy glows as it fires electricity, and then it shocks Azumarill, causing it to get knocked out in the end.
Emily: So far...I can't find any holes in your battles. But I think I have two more chances! Go! Francisca!
Ash: (Notices the Snom and remembers the ranger's words) This is the one you got from the Ranger, right?
Emily: You know how I got this Snom? Ash?
Lillie: We were approached by a ranger and she told us that you take the last Snom egg, so I got the Sizzlipede egg.
Gladion: I see, you have been helping out the Rangers as well, that's good to know.
Ash goes for Machop to battle, and much to his surprise, Icy Wind hits Machop and it deals some damage.
Emily: Even if your Machop is high level, but it doesn't have much experience with you, right?
Ash: I just caught it in a cave a few hours ago. So we didn't train it so much.
And when Machop goes for Karate Chop, it is stopped by Snom as it goes for Attract.
Lillie: It can learn Attract? That really is horrible.
Ash: But I can still try. Use Karate Chop again!
Even though Machop is in love with Snom, it still lands the hit after trying to hug the Pokemon.
Emily: Oh no...Use Fairy Wind!
Ash is surprised to learn that it can go for a Fairy move, but Machop goes for a secret move, which is Fire Punch, and it knocks out Snom.
Gladion: It can use Fire Punch?
Lillie: If you have good Pokemon, you can help it train the move even though it can't learn it naturally.
Emily: I guess I only have Lana left.
Emily sends out her Lopunny, while Ash decides to go with his Pikachu.
Emily: So the final is Pikachu, huh?
Ash: As your brother, I want to see how much you have grown.
Pikachu goes for the Thunderbolt, but Lopunny dodges the attack and then it uses Return, with the high friendship, it deals a lot of damage.
Ash: Lopunny evolves with high friendship during the daytime, with the Return, it is very powerful...(Pikachu nods in agreement.)
Ash has Pikachu uses Iron Tail, but Lopunny goes for a Jump Kick, dealing a lot of damage to Pikachu.
Ash: Too bad my Pikachu is still standing. Finish with Double Kick!
Emily: Don't let it use it, use Jump Kick!
Both attacks collide with each other, and in the end, Pikachu is still standing while Lopunny faints. Emily groans as she lost to her brother again.
Emily: Of course you've come far too! (Recalls Lana) Both our teams did amazing! I think you're definitely ready to take on this Gym whenever you want to!
Ash: Really? So do you want to watch the gym battle with us?
Emily: Of course, I'll stay here to watch too! I didn't see either of your Gym battles so far, so I think it'll be fun to see this one while we're both in the same place. By the way, just so you're not caught off guard...The Gym Leader here doesn't talk much, but what she does do a lot of is licking people's faces.
Lillie: Licking people's faces? That's...yuck...
Gladion: I don't mind, personally. I just didn't know how you'd feel about it.
Ash: I don't mind... But something tells me that that is not what she would do only...
Emily: Anyway, go on and get the badge! I'll be here.
Ash and Lillie nod as they enter the Gym, and then Emily and Gladion realize that they forget to tell them that a girl named Felicia wants to find them in Wonky Woods. They decide to do it after Ash finishes his Gym battle.
Here is a new chapter, and Emily battles Ash for the third time, and in the next chapter, it will be the Gym Battle that you've been waiting for.
