Chapter 23 Sibling Battle
Once Ash and Lillie are out of the spooky gym, they find Emily and Gladion rushing to them.
Emily: Congratulations, Ash! We could see your match with Gina reflected through the mirrors!
Lillie: So that's why the mirrors are showing your battle...so that everyone can watch even though they might not be in the gym.
Gladion: There is actually something that we want to ask you two about, though. Do you know someone named Felicia?
Ash: (Both Ash and Lillie are confused) We know Delicia, but not Felicia.
Emily: Huh? You don't? A girl named Felicia asked for you, and we told her that you were challenging the Gym. So she said to leave you a message. She wants to meet you in Wonky Woods.
Lillie: All of this is really suspicious... Someone who we don't even know wants to meet us at an apparently notoriously creepy place...
Gladion: Normally I'd say don't go, but...since she knew you were here, if we don't go, she might end up finding you later, or at least continue searching. Her knowledge seems limited since she didn't know I am your brother, and Emily is Ash's sister, but since we're both here, we can deal with whatever this is together right now. We've also been curious about Wonky Woods anyway.
Ash: What do you think about the one who wants to meet us?
Emily: She seemed nice, so hopefully, this is only strange because we don't know what this is about yet. We'll go with you, just in case. Meet us there when you're ready.
After that, Emily and Gladion leave first, while Ash and Lillie go to the Pokemon Center to heal up before coming with them.
Emily: (As Ash and Lillie arrive and they are at the entrance of Wonky Woods) This is the Wonky Woods, let's go.
But they are stopped by two Psychics, but they are saying something weird. Not to mention that their bodies are looking like they are projected.
Simulation HigglePigglety: I can be geometric with donuts.
Simulation Entrabeard: Toothpick?
And they take out Pokeballs, but much to their surprise is that the Pokemon are also looking like projected. There are two Munna on the field.
Ash: Should we battle? I mean...what if it is just a projection?
Emily: I think we should...considering they are Psychic Type and who knows what they can do.
As they send out Pikachu and Lana, the Pokemon are using Psychic moves like Confusion on Pikachu and Lopunny, and the attack hits.
Ash: Okay, this whole thing is pretty weird...
After defeating the two trainers, they are saying something weird again.
Simulation HigglePigglety: Twist and turn, feel the burn~ Garchomp makes tangerines favorable!
Simulation Entrabeard: Don't forget Mr. Lovebox! If you think about my haircut as a banana bandana, you probably are.
Just then, they are gone, and the four look at each other with a shrug.
As they walk further, they feel weird at a lot of boxes that have the words "ISABELLE IS A BELL" and also something that usually doesn't belong inside the woods, such as a Professor Oak statue, which has a Marble in his hand, and a door that leads to another place. And similar simulation trainers are trying to battle them as well. And after that, they see a woman with an Absol standing in front of them.
Emily: Excuse me, but would you happen to have seen anyone named Felicia here?
?: Would you happen to mean the magician?
Gladion: (The four of them are confused.) I don't know if she's a magician, but she told us to meet her here. Does Felicia the magician have star tattoos on her left leg?
?: Yes, she does! It sounds like you don't know her, though, so it's a bit strange for her to tell you to meet her here. I know she sometimes needs volunteers when she's practicing new spells, but I haven't heard of her calling on people randomly like that before.
Emily: Well, it wasn't exactly random. She knew who Ash and Lillie are, but Ash and Lillie don't know who she is, and neither did Gladion and me.
?: That is odd... I'm afraid I don't know what that's about.
Ash: This whole place is odd. I guess it's called Wonky Woods for a reason, but nothing could've prepared me for what we've seen in here. There is a door that leads to another part of the woods, we just passed a gigantic statue of Professor Oak from Kanto...And the trainers here have been spouting nonsense.
Lillie: I'm guessing this is the work of Isabelle? I saw a bunch of boxes arranged to spell out "ISABELLE IS A BELL". We've been told she's an illusionist.
?: That would be Isabelle, correct. Just like the scenery, the "trainers" here are her doing too. You could call them stimulations.
Group: (Confused) Simulations?
?: Isabelle is the only one who can make them, but they're programmed to obey Gina and Carol as well. Those three are friends, and Gina and Carol encourage her antics. Someone highly skilled in magic could control the stimulations too. Felicia's actually done so before.
Ash: Gina as in the Ghost-type Gym Leader?
?: Yes, and Carol is the Fairy-type Gym Leader. Would you four happen to be tourists? You seem to know a few things, but not some others that are common knowledge here.
Emily: We are! I'm Emily, and this is Ash, Lillie, and Gladion.
Agne: Ah, that made me realize that I haven't introduced myself. My name is Agne. It is spelled A, G, N, E, but the g is silent, so it sounds like the ain in rain. So, what are you four doing in the Ceolis Region?
Ash: Originally we were just here for vacation, but we decided to do the League Challenge, too!
Agne: I see. I'm doing the League Challenge too. I was just training here with my Absol, Pluto.
Pluto: (Greetst them) Sol!
Agne: I'm not personally interested in the Champion title, though. I guess it's like a means to an end for me. Or more accurately, a means to a means to an end. If I can become strong enough to be the Champion, I can probably have a second try at doing what I really want to do.
Lillie: What would that be?
Agne: Erm...it's a long story, and I'm sure you'll hear parts of it on your vacation. I feel like I've taken up enough of your time. I know you came here to meet Felicia. Since we're all doing the League challenge, I'm sure we'll meet up again. Best of luck to all of us!
Then the woman leaves, leaving the four of them to continue walking in the woods.
After searching for a while, battling simulations, they finally find Delicia and a girl with black hair standing there waiting for them.
Emily: Hello, Felicia. I see you've brought a friend with you too.
Lillie: Delicia! It is good to see you again.
Gladion: So you know her? (Ash and Lillie nod.)
Felicia: She's not just a friend, she is my little sister.
Emily: Ash? Who is this?
Ash: This is Delicia, we met in the Virima Library. She was bored there, so we had a battle.
Emily: I see. So her name's Delicia, and you battled her in Virima's library.
Felicia: At first, I was going to come here alone, until I learned you battled my little sis before. So I let her tag along too!~ (Turns to Ash.) Interesting coincidence that you have a sister too!
Ash: And what exactly do you want with us?
Felicia: Ash, Lillie, remember when you beat Barker at the Game Corner? I'm also an admin of Team Portal. He told us all about you.
Lillie: Wait, you two are also Team Portal? (Pikachu and Snowy are prepared to fight.)
Felicia: I was curious about you, so I wanted to battle you myself!~ I have a better idea now, though. Since both our sisters are here, how about a Siblings vs siblings Double battle!
Emily: I have several questions, but I'll ask them later. Let's do this, Ash!
Gladion: I think we should leave the battle to you, I guess...
Delicia: Chocolate! (Sends out Ice Cream, her Vanillite, while Felicia sends out Neapolitan, her Sylveon.)
Ash sends out Lucario while Emily goes for Naomi, her Vulpix.
Felicia: Use Sand Attack.
Sylveon uses the move to lower both Pokemon's accuracy by covering their eyes with sand.
Ash: Use your aura, Lucario, use Aura Sphere!
Lucario nods as it goes for the move, which hits Vanillite. Vanillite also goes for Uproar, which has been causing the Uproar, but Vulpix uses Fire Spin to knock it out.
Delicia sends out CottonCandy, her pink-colored Flaaffy, next.
Felicia: Use Helping Hand!
Sylveon is helping Flaaffy, as it uses Thunder Shock to knock out Vulpix, so Emily goes for Lily, her Petilil.
Ash: Lucario, finish Sylveon with Bullet Punch!
Lucario punches the Pokemon and knocking it out.
Felicia: That sure is a strong Lucario. Here's my second Pokemon, Vanilla!
Delicia has Lucario paralyzed with Thunder Wave, so Ash switches to Heracross.
Emily: Lily! Leech Seed!
The Flaaffy is now seeded, and then Ash uses the chance to go with Pin Missile, which knocks Flaaffy out, and Delicia's final Pokemon is PumpkinPie, her Lickitung.
Ash: Counter!
Delcatty goes for Tackle on Heracross, but the Counter attack causes Delcatty to faint as well.
Felicia: I have a Pokemon named CottonCandy as well.
She sends out female Meowstic as her final Pokemon, and it goes for Psyshock to knock out Lily, and Ash also switches to Leavanny. And Emily sends out Lana to battle the final Pokemon as well. Lana goes for Return, and Leavanny goes for X Scissor, eventually knocking both Pokemon out.
Felicia: You are really good as he said! (Recalls Meowstic.)
Delicia: Chip Cookies. (Recall Lickitung.)
Felicia: Aw, we lost. It's okay, though. We did our best. You can have this for helping me out.
Felicia gives Delicia a Lava Cookie, and she eats it happily.
Felicia: And one for each of you too!~
Then she gives Ash, Lillie, Gladion, and Emily also a cookie.
Emily: Um...thanks?
Felicia: Don't worry, Ash and Lillie. I won't be reporting this. I'm off-duty right now. I just came for a friendly battle. Next time though, I might not be as friendly. I've got more tricks up my sleeve than just my Pokemon~
After that, Delicia and Felicia leave the group alone.
Gladion: Well, that was strange...You handled yourself amazingly, though! So who exactly is "Team Portal"?"
Lillie: We met them once, where they are at the Cianose City Game Corner as they are working to steal prizes.
Emily: So you fought them at the Game Corner where they were working to steal prizes? That's low...but Felicia was awfully nice for someone in charge of those thieves. I guess we'll have to keep an eye out for them. For now, though, we won. So let's go on to our next Gym battle!
Then Emily and Gladion also bid farewell to them and now there are only Ash and Lillie alone.
Ash: So what are we going to do here?
Lillie: How about we try to capture some new Pokemon?
Ash: Good idea. (Leave to capture new Pokemon.)
Here is a new chapter, and as you can see Felicia and Delicia are sisters, and they are both members of Team Portal, with Delicia being Portal Dreamer, and Felicia being Portal Magician. And now Ash and Lillie continue to stay at Wonky Woods, what will happen to them while walking there?
