Chapter 28 Bolaii Beach
As they are now outside of the Gym, they find a Chikorita rushing towards them, much to their surprise. It is hugging Ash as he is confused about what to do.
Ash: What is a Chikorita doing here?
Lillie: (Notices the Chikorita seeing Ash's Garden Badge.) I think it sees your Garden Badge, and it trusts your ability and accepts you as a trainer.
Ash: But...Lillie, how about you take care of this Pokemon instead? I mean, we share our Pokemon, and I already have a Meganium that I captured from Johto.
Lillie: Are you sure about that?
The Chikorita nods while wagging its leaf, sending out good smells to the air.
Lillie: If you say so, welcome to the team, Chikorita.
Lillie then returns Meganium to Ash, and then she captures Chikorita. And Meganium refuses to leave Ash to his mother, so Ash decides to take it with him.
When they head south, they find themselves at Bolaii Coastline.
Lillie: I can see the ocean...this is amazing...
Ash: We are at the Bolaii Coastline, which is close to Bolaii Beach.
On the way, they find Dwebble, Wingull, Krabby, Corphish, Shellder, Slowpoke, Staryu, Shellos, and Corsola. In the ocean, there are Wailmer, Tentacool, Staryu, Corphish, and Krabby. And by using Old Rod, they find a Magikarp and a Remoraid.
Ash: Now that we can find a Remoraid...I'll try something.
As he sends out Mantyke and has it swim with Remoraid, it then evolves and it becomes a Mantine.
Lillie: Wow...that's how you evolve Mantyke into a Mantine? That's so cool...
Ash: Mantyke needs Remoraid to evolve into Mantine. That's for sure, and now I just need to capture a Magikarp.
Ash then uses the fishing skills to capture a Magikarp, and then he uses the Pokeball to capture it. As for Lillie, she is looking at the Poke Gear.
Ash: What did you find, Lillie? (Looks at her PokeGear.)
Lillie: Since it is daytime, we can see a lot of beautiful Corsola here. But it says that when it is nighttime, normal Corsola will disappear and Galarian Corsola will replace them.
Ash: I wonder why is that... (Lillie can only shrug as well.)
Then they train for a while to make their Pokemon evolve, and Ash has Magikarp become a Gyarados. Lillie is first afraid that Gyarados might be angry all the time, but Ash's has been showing affection to both him and Lillie, much to their relief. And Ash also evolves his Diglett into a Dugtrio, just by battling the Dwebble and Corsola nearby.
Lillie also trains her Electrike and it also evolves into a Manectric, with the help of Electric Type Pokemon as well. She also evolves her Chikorita into Bayleef by training with Water Type Pokemon as well. After that, they find a Fisherman.
Fisherman: This is a popular place to fish. The sea breeze and the sounds of the Pokemon make for a calming atmosphere, which is perfect for fishing. I have two extra rods I could give you if you're interested. I haven't used them before, and it's decent quality.
Then they all obtain Good Rod, which is better than Old Rod. With the new rod, they try to fish some new Pokemon, and they find a Carvanha, Basculin, and Qwilfish using the Good Rod. They look up to the Super Rod and they find that it is the same as Good Rod with the addition of Wishiwashi.
After that, they enter the cave, and they find a dealer.
Dealer: Hey there! I've explored a lot of caves and mountains, and I've come across many stones.
They are surprised to find every Evolution Stone, including the Link Stone, Ash and Lillie are delighted as they purchase some of the stones that they needed.
Ash uses the Shiny Stone on Eevee, and then it becomes a beautiful Sylveon. Lillie uses the Link Stone on Graveler, which makes it a powerful Golem, and then a Thunder Stone to make Eevee a Jolteon.
Ash: It is a good thing we have a dealer with the Evolution Stones, we can buy some if we want to evolve some Pokemon.
Lillie: Yeah.
After getting out of the cave, they are now at Bolaii Beach.
Ash: So this is the beach...it looks very big.
Lillie: I agree...(Spots a Gym Sign.) Hey, I think this whole beach is a Gym.
Ash: Really? A Gym? That is very quick...But I just had my Gym Battle at Aliora Gym...perhaps I want to relax for a while.
Just then, their phone rings and they get a new mission from the rangers.
Lillie: And I thought we could actually relax right now...
Mission name: Cleanup Collaboration: Bolaii Bar was packed last night since there was a performance by Noise Pollution. Unfortunately, not all the guests cared as much about keeping the beach clean as they did about the concert. Maybe because they were intoxicated, or just inconsiderate, or possibly both. Anyway, when everyone left, they didn't always take their junk with them. The BBC is off-duty right now and we've been trying to clean this mess up for over an hour. We would appreciate some extra hands. You can keep whatever you find since the owners didn't care enough to take it with them.
Ash and Lillie look at the beach, which totally is a mess.
Ash: This place sure is messy...let's find the ranger and tells them that we'll help.
Lillie: Sure, maybe cleaning the beach isn't that annoying as well.
After finding the ranger, they show their IDs to the ranger, who is delighted.
Ranger: Hey, thanks for coming. So as you read on the message, we have a lot to clean up here. I've been doing this for so long that my back hurts. Just let me know when everything's picked up.
Ash and Lillie are now changed into Ranger outfits as they clean the place. While they are cleaning, Ash has been hearing the Nosy News from the TV again.

Nosy Nosepass: Hoenn's Game Corner has also started back up again recently, so I guess it's a good time to run a Game Corner! It's a good time to go to the beach, too!
Ash: It is not a good time if the beach is a mess...

Lillie: Wait, did she say Chelsea is the Water Type Gym Leader here in Bolaii Beach?
Ash: You know her?
Lillie: Lana mentioned her a lot to me, considering both she and her sisters are listening to her songs for a while. She has a Brionne named Riko, and she was just like Pikachu, who refuses to evolve.
Ash: I see...(Suddenly notices a Prism Scale on the ground.) Hey! I found a Prism Scale! I can use it to have a Milotic!
Ash uses the item on Feebas and telling her that she is going to be a beautiful Milotic. It makes her happy as she touches the Prism Scale, and it evolves into a beautiful Milotic just like Ash said.
Ash: It is good to have you on the team, Milotic. (Recalls it and continues to pick up some trash.)
They also notice some Tentacool, Frillish, Wailmer, Mantyke, and Alomomola in the water, and Lillie decides to capture a Frillish while Ash is continuing cleaning the trash. Lillie has Chinchou battle Frillish, and it evolves into Lanturn and defeats Frillish, capturing the Pokemon in the end. They also find some Magikarp and Barboach using Old Rod, Luvdisc, Alomomola, and Feebas using Good Rod, and Luvdisc, Alomomola, Feebas, Wishiwashi, and Goldeen using Super Rod. Lillie also evolves Stufful into Bewear as she asks it to help to pick trash, and Bewear glads to help, that is after it gives a bear hug to Lillie.
Lillie: Ash, I think I found something. (Shows a Marble.) Another Marble.
Ash: Really, how many Marbles do we have now? I think there are 9 of them?
Lillie: Yeah...somehow I feel like there are more of them.
While they are cleaning the beach, unknown to them, Gladion and Emily are resting at the beach longe along with the Gym Leader Chelsea.
Gladion: (Notices Ash and Lillie cleaning the trash.) Those Rangers sure are dedicated to their work...it is already so hot and they still go out under the sun to clean the trash.
Emily: You're right about that. Though I wonder when Ash and Lillie are going to come? I mean, after that battle with Gina, I really want to see the battle again.
Gladion: Ash's battle is full of surprises, but relaxing on a beach like this is also calming.
While they continue to relax, Ash and Lillie finish cleaning up the beach and then they take off their ranger outfits and walk towards the Rangers.
Ranger: That's everything! Thanks for your help. You can have this too. It's a Blastoisinite. I found it here a few days ago, but I don't have a Key Stone to use it. Besides, you finished my job for me.
Then Ash and Lillie put the Mega Stone in their pockets, and they are really tired as it is almost noon, with the sun shining at them.
Ash: How about we go to the beach bar to get a drink? The sun is really heating me.
Lillie: I agree, there is nothing better than a Lemonade in this kind of hot weather, especially on a beach as well. Let's go there. (Walks towards the south to get a drink.)
Here is a new chapter, and Ash and Lillie arrive at the fifth gym or the beach. But there won't be a gym battle just yet, since there are some things to do before battling the gym. In the next chapter, I'll show you the places you can go in this Bolaii Beach. I hope you like this chapter.
