Chapter 29 Raps and Beaches
Ash and Lillie are now at the bar, and they get a cup of Lemonade for free because of their work at the beach, and then they find a Sea Star who tells them about the place.
Sea Star: From what I've heard, all the buildings here at Bolaii Beach except for the Pokemon Center are recent additions. Most of them were set up after the beach became a popular performance spot for Chelsea. Going back even further to when humans first came to the region, this was originally a quiet getaway spot when only a few people ventured here. I wonder what it feels like to see a place change so much? Luckily, if a quiet getaway spot is what you're looking for, there's still Serenity Seaside.
Lillie: I never know about that...but I wonder where is Serenity Seaside...
Then they are also given a Soothe Bell after learning about the Happy Hour of the bar, which Ash and Lillie are not interested in going there at that time.
Ash: How about we check out the Sand Castle? I wonder what we can find there.
Lillie: Good idea. Maybe we can train more Pokemon and capture some more as well.
In the Sand Castle, there are Sandygast, Staryu, Wooper, Corsola, Krabby, Corphish, Shellder, and Psyduck. Lillie decides to capture a Sandygast, as it is an Alola Pokemon that she is interested in, but Ash is still wary of the Pokemon considering its shovel can control anyone. She uses Drifloon to battle since it is a Ghost Type, and Drifloon evolves into a Drifblim and captures the Pokemon in the end.
After getting to the third floor, they find an Oshawott looking at the water while building a sandcastle.
Ash: That is a nice sandcastle, Oshawott.
The voice gains Oshawott's attention, and it looks at Lillie, as she has a Soft Sand in her bag. It immediately tells her that it wants to join her team.
Lillie: (Captures Oshawott.) And I was thinking that I am not going to find another Starter Pokemon...
Ash: Oshawott is not that bad if you compared to mine.
Lillie is confused about how Ash's Samurott is about, but she doesn't ask for more. But as they get to a stone pillar, they hear the voice again.
Mysterious Voice: This hiding place rocks, doesn't it?
Ash: (Finding the fifth speaker.) Yeah...this is very weird...I wonder how many times there are...
They also find that the water in front of them only has Stunfisk, so they just do some training in the area. Ash has Machop evolve into a Machoke, and by using the Link Stone, it evolves into a Machamp.
Lillie: Machamp is strong, just look at its four arms...
Ash: I agree, I wonder if we can find a Mega Stone for this Pokemon, considering that it is one of the Pokemon that can Gigantamax.
Lillie also evolves the Sizzlipede into a Centiskorch, and Oshawott also evolves into Dewott. Having two new evolutions is satisfying for Lillie.
Ash: I guess there is nothing we can find here anymore. Let's go find Chelsea and battle her.
Lillie: Sure, I can't wait to meet her.
After getting back to the beach, they find Emily and Gladion resting at a beach longe and they are now speechless.
Emily: Hey, Ash! Lillie! We've been waiting for you!
Ash: What are you two doing here? Are you seriously relaxing here?
Gladion: Emily got Chelsea's badge, and we're just chilling on the beach right now. Chelsea would be the lady sitting right next to me, by the way.
Just then, they turn around and see a girl with black hair and a blue dress sitting next to them. She takes off her sunglasses and greets them.
Chelsea: It was a very Close round of Combat. It took my breath away. As expected from someone who's already gotten their feet wet with gym battles.
Lillie: (Confused.) Did you just use a pun?
Chelsea: You can guess. (Turns to Ash.) Ash Ketchum, I assume you want to challenge me next? I'd love to see you making a splash, but it'd be a shame if you didn't get to see everything the beach has to offer first.
Ash: Trust me, we have been helping the rangers clean this whole beach from the trash...
Gladion: Wait, you mean that the two rangers that we've been seeing picking up the trashes are you two?
Lillie: Don't tell me that you two were relaxing there while seeing us picking up trash...what kind of brother are you...
Chelsea: (Calms down Ash and Lillie.) Why don't you go around and talk to some people? I've heard that there's a bubbly one in the Rap Battle House, just west of where we are now. Maybe she'll get you to Smash out of Your Shell.
Ash: (Mutters.) There is Shell Smash pun...
Chelsea: You seem a little Timider than Emily.
Lillie: (Offended) Do we?
Then they decide to take the advice and go into the Rap House, a lot of people in the house are doing raps, and the music in the room is also very loud.
Ash: This house sure is doing a lot of raps, as I don't know if I should clap.
Lillie: Are you seriously doing it as well? Maybe you don't need to tell.
The two of them laugh a little as they continue to fight the trainers with Double Battles. After what seems to be a lot of trainers, they finally find the one who is waiting for them at the Rap House. A girl with the Cherry themed outfit is sitting on the sofa waiting for them.
?: Welcome to the Rap Battle House! We spit fire that no one can douse! Ash, Lillie, I know about you two! You beat Lemon and Orange too!
Ash: Wait, the group of seven that we saw on news, we've already found the third one? I think this one is called Cherry...
Lillie: Seriously?
Cherry: But including me, you've got five left! Don't get full of yourself or you'll be effed! It's time for battle, so that's enough talk! I'm bringing power, so you better have bulk!
She signals Ash to battle, and Ash agrees.
Cherry: Give me the first call, I'll use CrawClaw!
Her first Pokemon is Crawdaunt, and Ash decides to go with Rotom.
Ash: Rotom! Let's start with the Thunderbolt!
Rotom goes with swift speed and it shoots the attack at Crawdaunt, it gets hit, and then it gets paralyzed. Crawdaunt uses Bubble Beam, which also deals some damage to Rotom.
Ash: Rotom! Use Uproar! If you can do it, go for more!
Cherry: Use your Protect! Don't make it contact!
Rotom gives a loud voice at Crawdaunt, only for it to form a shield and blocks the attack, Rotom does it several times, and Crawdaunt is in its protection shield until it calms down. Rotom goes for Electro Ball this time, and Crawdaunt has eventually fainted in the end.
Cherry: One Pokemon down below, the second will be CelloFellow!
Ash sees that the second Pokemon is Kricketune, so he goes for Lycanroc. Lycanroc goes for Stone Edge, which hits Kricketune and deals a lot of damage.
Cherry: CellowFellow! Use your Focus Energy, get the X-Scissor to your enemy!
The X-Scissor that is powered up by Focus Energy causes the move to get a critical hit, and Lycanroc takes a little more damage. Kricketune goes for Slash attack, but after it hits Lycanroc, Ash has Lycanroc use Counter, giving a lot of damage back to Kricketune.
Ash: Finish it with Bite! Show it with all your might!
Lycanroc bites at the Pokemon, causing it to faint in the end.
Lillie: That sure is a tough battle for Ash...I mean, I hope he can win this battle in a flash.
Pikachu: Lillie? Are you seriously doing that? Is this place really making you all do the raps for the chat?
Ninetales: You're doing it too, Pikachu, if only we ever knew...
Cherry: (Recalls Kricketune.) You think you're better, but I'll go with CyberFiber!
Cherry's third Pokemon is going to be a Porygon, a Pokemon that Ash is surprised to see.
Ash: You don't see that Pokemon very often...but that doesn't mean I'll get soften!
Ash goes for Sirfetch'd, hoping to use Fighting Type moves to deal with it. Porygon uses Psychic on Sirfetch'd, and it deals a lot of damage. Ash is surprised to see that Porygon does a Psychic move, but he just tells Sirfetch'd to use Brick Break, which also returns the damage to Porygon. Much to Ash's annoyance, Porygon can also use Recover, and it goes for Tackle, which defeats Sirfetch'd.
Ash: This is why the longer I travel, the trainers are stronger in battle...
He goes for Rotom again to deal with Porgyon, and it goes for Quick Attack, which hits Porygon. Porygon goes for Psychic again, which deals a lot of damage to Rotom. In the end, Rotom's Thunderbolt defeats Porygon.
Cherry: Maybe I might fall, but let's go! TallBall!
Her final Pokemon is Electrode, and Ash decides to go with a Ground Type like Donphan. Ash notices that Electrode has an Air Balloon so that Ground moves won't be doing anything to it. It goes for Assurance, causing Electrode to fall to the ground.
Ash: Let's go for Magnitude, I hope it won't be number two...
And much to his delight, it is six, but that is still not enough to take down Electrode, especially since it goes for Light Screen.
Cherry: Get ready to hide really soon! Because TallBall's going for Self-Destruct for a boom!
Ash widens his eyes to see that Electrode is going for Self-Destruct, so he quickly has Donphan use Endure, a move that Phanpy has learned. And Donphan is still standing while Electrode faints.
Cherry: Another one of us has fallen! There's no doubt your team is ballin'! (Recalls Electrode.) Now you're down to four! You can beat the rest of us, I'm sure! Good luck and stay safe on your travels! I can't wait to see how your road unravels!
After that, she leaves the two alone, and Ash and Lillie decide to go battle the Gym Leader, who is still relaxing at the beachside.
Here is a new chapter, and don't tell me why there are so many raps in the Rap House...I was a little surprised when I'm battling inside. And here is how you get Oshawott in this game, just get a Soft Sand in your bag and you can have it. As for the next chapter, I am not going to write the Gym Battle yet, instead, Team Portal is going to make another appearance. Let's see how Ash, Lillie, Gladion, Emily, and the Gym Leader Chelsea battle against them.
