Chapter 37 Olidroll City Part 5
Ash and Lillie are now inside the Twilight Tavern, they only see customers who are having meals, and they don't see any staff members.
Lillie: I guess this place sure is suspicious...
Ash: I agree...but first, we need to find where Dylan is...
Ash and Lillie split up as Ash tries to ask any customers about Dylan indoors, and Lillie is dealing with outdoors. Lillie spots a Galarian Zigzagoon and she captures the Pokemon.
Ash is searching at the table, and he finds his sixth speaker that is hidden on the floor with the camoflauge.
Mysterious Voice: The seats at this table may not be taken, but the floor is!
Ash shrugs as he asks a trainer, and he reveals that to get to the Gym Battlefield, one must find a switch that Dylan hides in the tavern. Ash thanks the customer and then he searches for the switch, and he finds it in the garbage can.
Ash: (Presses the Switch.) So what will be happening?
Just then, they hear the unlocking sound and they find a door opens. He calls Lillie inside as they show the door.
Lillie: So you say that this is the entrance to the Gym?
Ash: I guess so.
As they enter the door, they are at the Battlefield, but Dylan is not here. They find an elevator, and they go to the secret underground passage.
Ash: Looks like we're here...the secret underground passage...
Lillie: You're right, and there must be some Pokemon roaming around here as well...
They find Zubat and Lillie battles it with her new Zigzagoon, and she evolves it into a Linoone after battling it.
Ash: Galarian Linoone also has an evolution...though it has to be nighttime if you want to evolve it.
Lillie: Just great...
She also battles a Woobat with the help of Raboot, and Raboot evolves into Cinderace in the end. They also find some wild Pokemon like Noibat, Diglett, Geodude, Onix, Galarian Stunfisk, and Aron.
Lillie decides to capture an Aron, with the help of Mienfoo, she manages to capture it. And by training with the Noibat and Zubat in the area, she evolves Aron into a Lairon.
And after walking to the end, they find a girl in a green bat costume standing in front of them.
Natalie: Hi! My name's Natalie. Did you think you'd make it to our hideout without a fight?
Lillie: So this is your hideout? Is Dylan or Tomas inside?
Natalie: Of course, we heard Raymond found out about us, so we're on high alert. And by "heard", I mean one of our clients saw you talking about it with Raymond. You really should be careful what you say in public. You never know who could be listening.
Ash: And what about Raymond?
Natalie: He probably wasn't confident enough it was within his jurisdiction to bust us himself, so he got around that by sending two trainers...If I wanted to, I think that'd be grounds for revoking his position...but I won't do that. Right now, we've got our own positions to protect.
Ash: So you want a battle. I'll battle you.
Natalie: Then I'll be going with Midnight.
Ash and Lillie are in awe at the sight of an odd-colored Crobat, and Ash goes with Gigalith to battle. Gigalith uses Stone Edge, but Crobat manages to use Confuse Ray to make it confused. After hitting itself for more, Crobat also goes with Acrobatics strengthened by Flying Gem. But Rock Blast finishes the Pokemon in the end.
Natalie: It seems like you are not that weak...how about Noon?
The second Pokemon is Emolga, and Ash switches to Lapras to battle. Emolga uses Nuzzle to make Lapras paralyzed, but Lapras goes for Perish Song, with the three turns up, both Pokemon faint in the end.
Ash: I'm sorry, Lapras...since your opponent is an Electric Type...
Natalie: I see you would do something for the greater good. Here is Morning!
Her third Pokemon is Gliscor, and Ash goes for Blastoise to battle. Every time Blastoise lands the Water Pulse, it uses Roost to heal itself, and Blastoise takes a lot of damage from Gliscor's Arcobatics strengthened by Flying Gem, but in the end, Blastoise use Flash Cannon to defeat it.
Ash: Three down...I wonder how many Pokemon she has...
Natalie: My forth Pokemon is going to be Dawn!
Her fourth Pokemon is a Swoobat, and Ash goes for Umbreon to battle. It goes for Calm Mind to raise its Special attack and Special Defense, and then it goes for Air Slash to make Malamar flinch, but Malamar manages to defeat it with Night Slash.
Natalie: Down to my last Pokemon, so you are this strong I see...here comes Evening.
The final Pokemon is Noivern, and Ash goes with his. Natalie's Noivern is going for Echoed Voice, but Ash's Boomburst is loud enough to get through the attack, it goes for Roost after getting hit, but in the end, a Dragon Pulse defeats the Noivern, giving Ash the victory.
Natalie: My bats! (Recalling Noivern.) Okay, I wasn't expecting you two to be that good...I think you can make it all the way through.
Lillie: (Noticing that she is trying to leave.) Where are you going?
Natalie: I'm going home. I may be the top guard, but I'm only here because I was asked to be. Just like you're only here because Raymond asked you. If this place is going down, I'm not going with it.
After that, she is out of their sight.
Lillie: We can worry her later. Right now let's find Dylan and Tomas.
Ash: You're right. (Then they enter the secret lab.)
As they enter the place, they find some sellers with vitamins, and they are 4900 dollars, and they also find a scientist with the Clipboard.
Scientist: I found this around here. I think it belongs to another scientist. Maybe you could find them? (Ash and Lillie nod as they take the clipboard.) It's really irresponsible for a scientist to leave their clipboard lying around, but it happens to almost all of us from time to time.
They also find a lady as she is asking them for a Minccino.
Lady: Hello, would you mind hearing me out? I have a Pokemon called Dreepy, and I didn't really do my research before deciding to raise it. Dreepy apparently like to be launched at high speeds, and Drakloak and Dragapult do this with Dreepy children regularly. Even though Dreepy enjoy it, thinking about them getting hurt by crashing into something has me pre-emptively worried... I think if I were to raise a Pokemon, it should be a mild-mannered one that likes to play it safe. I know Minccino care about cleanliness a lot, and I think I'd get along well with one. If you have a Minccino, would you like to trade for my Dreepy?
Ash: Sorry, but we don't have a Minccino with us...
Lady: That's fine. My offer will still stay on the table unless I find someone else to trade with first.
With the help of the Rangers, they manage to send them the Minccino using the PC. And then they do a trade, and Ash gets a Dreepy in his team.
Lady: Thank you very much, I hope you and Dreepy can get along well.
Once it is done, they continue further as they are stopped by some trainers, but they are blocked by a security gate. After finding the scientist Devron, he battles them and he lost to them in the end.
Devron: Fine...(Presses the button.) I've unlocked the doors.
Ash and Lillie are now entering the gate, as they look around to see a lot of machines.
Ash: This place is really creepy...I mean, there is a lot of machines...
Lillie: I know.
?: So you made it here, messengers of Raymond.
They find two people that are sitting at the table. They are Dylan and Tomas, with Dylan being the one in the bartender outfit.
Dylan: Usually people who do whatever they're told aren't strong and lack real motivation, so I'm surprised.
This causes them to get angry and Pikachu is sparkling electricity.
Dylan: Did that make you mad? Well, tell me...do you know how much vitamins cost? (Ash and Lillie are confused.) I didn't think so. They cost $9800. Just one enough to put a decent hole in a normal person's wallet. That's why I've been having people sell them for half that. $4900 is still more than most of what's sold in stores since they're valuable, but it's a more reasonable price. Tomas here makes the vitamins we sell.
Tomas: Maybe not for much longer, now that we've been caught...
Dylan: (Frown) Yes, that's true...You've really screwed me over without even knowing what you were getting into, Ash and Lillie. I guess I'll just have to face the law and accept whatever punishment they decide to give me. Running away will just make it harder for all of us. Tomas, what will you do?"
Tomas: I'll stand with you in court.
Dylan: Sorry about you being dragged into this...
Tomas: It's alright. I can't really run either, can I? Besides, I volunteered to help you with this in the first place.
Dylan: Alright. Then let's do this the easy way and turn ourselves in."
Dylan then notices Ash and Lillie's expressions change from being mad into being sorry for them, he sighs.
Dylan: Your expression's changed, Ash, Lillie. Are you having second thoughts about what you did? If so, don't worry about it. What's done is done. Now we just have to deal the best we can. And I think I have a pretty convincing argument in my defense...If we make it out of this with our Gym Leaders titles intact, Ash, I'm expecting a battle from you.
Tomas: Likewise.
After seeing the two Gym Leaders going to the Court House, Ash and Lillie are now at the Pokemon Center.
Ash: For now, I feel sorry for the two gym leaders...I thought we were doing the right thing..."
Lillie: But not all justice is good, right? At least we learned our lesson.
Here is a new chapter, and as you can see, Ash and Lillie put two Gym Leaders on the court. All Dylan and Tomas are doing are just lowering the prices of the vitamins, and I was also feeling the same, how can it sell so much money? I hope you like this chapter, and in the next chapter, Ash will be having his sixth Gym Battle against Raymond.
