Chapter 39 Olidroll City Part 7
After the Gym Battle against Raymond is over, Ash and Lillie are now continuing their work at the Police Station. They find an Officer Jenny who has some problems.
Jenny: Growlithe is excellent at tracking through scent. Sometimes it gets attracted to Spritzee's scent, though. They hang out in the Recreation District. Hey, if you happen to have a Spritzee, I'll give you something for it.
Ash: I have a Spritzee. (Shows the officer.)
Jenny: Then if you have one of these, you can evolve Spritzee into Aromatisse!
Then Ash and Lillie are given the Sachet, and Ash uses it on Spritzee to have it evolve into Aromatisse. After it is done, they go to check out the next mission.
Mission Name: Shiny Stealing Scoundrel: The client was helping a tourist find his way around Olidroll City. During a conversation, the client had shown the tourist his Shiny Aerodactyl. When the client turned around to leave, the tourist snatched the Pokeball. The client has no other Pokemon to fight the thief with, so it's up to us.
Ash: So stopping stealing...something that Team Rocket would have done. (Lillie nods.)
The client believes he would be at the Pokemon Fan Club in the Recreation District, showing off the shiny Pokemon.
Lillie: Okay, we have the place. Let's go there.
Once they get to the Fan Club, they see a man showing off Shiny Aerodactyl.
Little Girl: Wow, a shiny! I've never seen one before!
Fisherman: I've heard of some people fishing up golden Magikarp, but I haven't seen anything like this up close!
Aerodactyl: (Confused with all the people looking at him.) Aero?
Chairman: (Notices Aerodactyl's confused face.) Don't be fooled! It isn't his.
Shiny Thief: And how do you know that? I think you're just jealous because you don't have any Shiny Pokemon!
Chairman: Actually, I do have a few. But that's irrelevant. I can tell this Aerodactyl is confused. It looks like it has no idea what's going on. This isn't the look of social awkwardness from the crowd. It has no idea where it is or who you are. You stole this Pokemon, didn't you?
Ash: That's right!
The group from the fan club sees Ash and Lillie as they show their Police Badge.
Lillie: You are under arrest for thievery. Don't resist and come with us.
Shiny Thief: Tch...fine, you caught me. But I'm not leaving without a fight!
He sends out Relicanth and Pupitar to battle, and Ash goes for Roserade while Lillie goes for Slowbro. Roserade uses Magical Leaf to knock out Relicanth, while Slowbro uses Water Pulse to defeat Pupitar.
Shiny Thief: Aerodactyl, it's your turn!
But Aerodactyal is still confused, as he doesn't know why he needs to fight.
Aerodactyl: Aero...
Chairman: It isn't going to listen to you. You can't expect a Pokemon to obey if it doesn't respect you, much less doesn't even know you.
Shiny Thief: (Kneel and sigh.) I guess you're right...I don't know why I didn't think of that before. I just saw it as another treasure to find, so I was blinded by that. I'll return Aerodactyl to its trainer. I know where he lives. And you can have this. It's the biggest treasure I've ever found.
The thief gives Ash and Lillie a Big Nugget, and then under the other police officer's supervision, the thief leaves.
Chairman: I'm relieved that ended on a good note. Thank you very much for your help.
Ash: No problem, we're glad to help.
And then they decide to take part in Contests in the Contest Hall, as Ash wants to show Lillie what he can do. The Contest in Ceolis is not like the other regions, the first round is the Primary judging, the audience votes on the Pokémon that looks the coolest, most beautiful, cutest, most clever, or toughest, depending on the category of the contest. And then the second round is Appeal Round, which is much like the performance round in other regions, but based on the category of the contest.
Ash: So it is different from the other contests...but I have confidence that I can win all 20 ribbons today.
Lillie: Really? I will like to see that. I heard that there are four ranks, with Normal, Super, Hyper, and then Master. The difficulty will only be harder and harder.
Ash: No need to worry about it. Just watch.
And Ash goes for participating as he uses Sceptile for the Cool Contest, Sylveon for the Cute Contest, Infernape for the Tough Contest, Milotic for the Beauty Contest, and Meowstic for the Clever Contest, and they are doing a great job as they show off their moves. For Sceptile, he uses the combination of Leaf Blade and X-Scissor to show the coolest moves, Sylveon uses Charm and Draining Kiss, as well as some cute status moves to appeal to the crowd. Infernape goes for Dig and Close Combat to show how tough it is, and appeal to the crowd. Milotic, as a lot of people know that it is a common Pokemon for Beauty, but Ash's impressed them with a lot of beautiful moves. And finally, Meowstic uses some Psychic moves to show how clever it is. In the end, it takes 3 hours for Ash to win all the ribbons and even get the Ribbon Cup.
Lillie: Wow, Ash! You really did it!
Ash: I know.
Just then, a lot of fans are chasing after Ash, so Ash and Lillie can only run as they hide from the crowd. They laugh a while as they hide in the Police Station by wearing police outfits from the chief, and then they go for the next mission.
Case Name: Martial Arts Melee: This comes from a trainer named Madison. Madison wishes for a practice partner as training for Olidroll's Gyms. This isn't normally the kind of work we do, but it'd be rude to turn down an innocent request. Besides, us officers could use more training, too. Madison said she'll be waiting near Olidroll's north gate in the Recreation District.
Ash: So this one is a training quest...it should be easy.
The two of them go to Olidroll's north gate, as they find Madison, the battle girl, waiting for them to come.
Madison: Hey, thanks for accepting my request and coming out here! I'm a trainer who leans towards the Fighting Type. The city has Rock and Dark gyms. So you think it'd be two easy wins for me, right? Well, with Gym leaders, it's not that simple. They didn't get to where they are by not being able to cover for their weakness. So let's see I'm ready!
The girl sends out Heracross, Scrafty, and Chesnaught. And they have all three Pokemon, so they decide to teach them about some moves, like how Heracross can use its Bug Type moves like Pin Missile or Megahorn if one of the Gym Leaders are using Dark and Psychic, or Rock and Psychic, and they also teach Scrafty to use Head Smash, which deals with Flying Type. And for Chesnaught, they just teach them some defensive moves. And Madison learns everything about it.
Madison: I still have a ways to go. As I thought, I need to get in some more training. Thanks for the match!
Ash: No problem. Good luck with your match against the leaders.
Once they are finished, they go back to the Pokemon Center, meet the scientist, and return the Clipboard.
Scientist: You found my clipboard! Here's something I found the other day as thanks.
They get a Marble from the man in the end, much to their delight.
Scientist: So where did you find it, anyway?
Ash: It's in Olidroll Underground where Dylan's lab is.
Scientist: (Pales.) Please don't tell anyone I was there.
Lillie: If you are worried about the police, don't worry. Dylan and Tomas are free and the business continues to work.
This causes the scientist to sigh as he is not in trouble, and Ash and Lillie leave him be. And they decide to see what is on the news.
Nosy News: Good whatever time of day it is for you, viewers! I'm Nosy Nosepass here at Nosy News, keeping you up to date on the latest happenings in the Ceolis region! It seems like underground plots are being discovered all over Ceolis this summer! First, we had the Game Corner employee thefts, then we had the BCC aka Team Portal. And now we have an underground black market in Olidroll City!
Ash and Lillie are frowning as the news about the vitamin incident is now on television, and they feel the guilt rushing over their hearts once more.
Nosy News: But this black market wasn't being run by petty thieves or a mysterious organization. It was actually run by two Gym Leaders! Dylan, the Dark-type Gym Leader, and Tomas, the Poison-type Gym Leader! It would be unprofessional to mix in personal opinion with objective reporting, but I think it's safe to say this was a more grey area situation than the other two. What happened with the Game Corner and the BCC was outright stealing and treachery, but Dylan and Tomas never stole or betrayed anyone's trust. They felt the Department Store vitamins were too expensive, so they produced and sold their own to willing buyers at half-price. But what will the region think? With everything coming out from the shadows lately, it'd be understandable if anyone is feeling uneasy. This has been Nosy Nosepass! Thank you for listening in!

Lillie: Me too...speaking of Department Store, how about we go there first, and then we should check out the Opaque Valley? I heard that there are a lot of Dark Type Pokemon living there and maybe we can find our own Dark Type Pokemon.
Ash: That sounds like a good idea, and maybe we will be prepared when we go to the Department store and buy some stuff.
The two nod as they go to the department store before the sunsets.
Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, Ash and Lillie have done two missions, and about the contest part, sorry that I rushed it because this game is not made by Pokemon Essentials so that the creator of the game couldn't put any content of Contests into the game, so if there's someone who can help her, just call out to her. (Not me.) And I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be exploring the Opaque Valley and Mysterious Mansion.
