(Author Kun) Basically what I'll be doing is moving up the event of the slave trader's monster lottery, I'll be writing the story up to events of the Cal Mira Island arc and maybe wait for season two to air before I continue or just continue using the Ln, also I'll be taking elements from the Spinoff manga (Yari No Yuusha No Yarinaoshi)so some minor spoilers from that place as well. Lets see how this goes.

Also if there is any errors or something you see, please tell me so I can fix it.

It was a quiet Nigh in the Castle Town of Melromarc, Naofumi Iwatani the current shield hero was tired after a full day of monster grinding, he's still level 1 due to not gaining little to no due to his companion Myne wanted to go back to the inn to eat and turn in for the night. Naofumi still being curious about the town decided to go outside and walk around for a bit, passing by many shops that specialized in other fields like magic and potion-making.

"Wow this place is so interesting, Although I do need to find a faster way to level up, if I keep going at this rate I'll most likely be under-leveled before the wave hits, and I can't be useless I've promised that I will fight for this world." Naofumi continues on a path through the castle town until he approaches a light in an alleyway. "what is that" Naofumi question while staring down the alleyway, being curious he walks down the alleyway only to find a tent.

"A circus tent? what is it doing here and who owns it?." Many questions run through Naofumi's mind until he hears a voice.

"Well looks like I have some business to do, come in my friend." Naofumi very wary of the voice takes a minute to think before going inside the tent to meets a rather short man in a dark purple suit and top hat."

"If you are here to do business your in luck, my friend, I have just gotten a new shipment today ready to be sold".

"Shipment? Shipment of what?." Naofumi Asked, being puzzled by the situation.

"Well, Slaves of course. As they pass through a curtain showing many cages full of creatures of all shapes and sizes.

"Slaves!" Naofumi said with concerned tone.

"You're a slave trader!" This time said with anger,

"Indeed I am, the trade of demi-humans and beast-men are legal in this country, So I decided to take this business opportunity and sell them myself."

"Demi-humans, Beast men, what are they".

"Intrigued huh, As expected from the hero of the shield,"

"What is that supposed to mean"

"That's not important, Demi-humans and beast-men are half Human half monster-like creatures, demi-humans take more of a human appearance with some monster traits, and beast-men tend to look more like monsters than actual humans, some even have the uncanny ability to transform between a human and monster form."

(Side note Raphtalia isn't here yet)

"The slave dynamic in this country is interesting, but I am not here to buy a slave."

"Well I don't just have slaves, I sell monsters too, by registering them to yourself you'll be able to command them to battle for you."

Naofumi thinks about the offer for a moment, with a monster he can gain some levels faster.

"If I get a monster, would be a lot easier to defeat more monsters and level up. Naofumi asked.

"Indeed, while registered it will share the exp gained with you."

"Interesting, fine I'll take one.

"Good, Good now follow me." The man says. He takes Naofumi to an area of the tent that holds all the monsters. While Naofumi is looking at the monster cages, he spots a table with a bunch of eggs.

"Hey, what is that?"

"Oh it's just a new thing I'm trying, it's called a monster lottery. For only 100 silvers you can get a monster egg, although which one you get is a mystery."

"Sounds like a loot box for me, what is the grand prize anyways."

"A dragon, although you are guaranteed a Filolial if you play."

"And that is?"

"They are the bird you see outside pulling the carts, they have pretty strong kicks if you plan on using them for combat as well."

"I don't have much to lose if I play so sure, I'll play your game then," he said as he pulls out some silvers from his money bag and chooses an egg.

After registering the egg to Naofumi, he walks out of the tent with an egg inside of an incubator finally heading back to the inn for some rest, he decides to hide some of the money he had in his shield and put the egg on the desk near him, he takes off his chain mail and falls asleep knowing not what plots his companion have for him.
