Following Aizen's defeat and the loss of his Soul Reaper powers, Ichigo is given a once in a lifetime opportunity. To either stay in the world of the living as a normal human. Or journey to the Soul Society and take up one of the vacant positions in the Thirteen Court Guard Squads.

It's not that he has anything against half-elves. It just so happens that the Council and Yoruichi are partnering him up with one and Kurosaki Ichigo- the strongest Aegis agent in a century doesn't need a partner, *especially* if it's a Kuchiki.

This is a somewhat silly fiction. It's under the premise that some visored returned to Soulsociety after the Battle in Karakura town, meaning canon divergence after that. Chaos, bad matchmaking and pranks happen. It's not all pointless though.
