The shadow of a faded star gets trampled on by a man in black. He sends screams through the night but they're silenced by the lost. Hell's finally frozen over and Coriolanus Snow steps out of the dust with vengeance. The 52nd Games are hardly his priority, but perhaps they'll distract Panem from his approaching storms. It's about time the Districts served their penance...

The Hunger Games isn't something I'd call calm. But compared to what we're dealing with now, the 72nd Games was nothing. I'd know. I was the Victor.

The day after aging out of the Reaping, Katniss crosses paths with Peeta. She thanks him for the bread and to her surprise a tentative friendship begins.
