Forced regeneration
Sith Lord Darth Vader formerly Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker was feeling disorientated.
He had come to a world saturated by the force hunting a rogue Jedi who had escaped the purges.
He had finally found and killed the rogue Jedi in a decrepit rundown castle that in his opinion had been old before the formation of the old republic.
When he had killed the rogue Jedi the force had screamed at him and led him deeper into the castle.
On the lowest level he had found a hermetically sealed box that seemed to have been carved from a single piece of jade.
The force was screaming at him to take the box and showed him visions of him being whole again with Padme and with an unruly pack of children surrounding them.
Desperate for any chance to right the wrongs he had done his wife Vader took the box and proceeded back to his command ship where he reports the successful death of another Jedi to his master Darth Sidious.
He didn't mention the jade box and told his master that he was going to head to Bast Castle on Vjun to meditate and recuperate.
Sidious readily agreed as he knew that any tool had to be kept sharp so that it could destroy his enemies and Vader was his best tool for enforcing his rule.
When Darth Vader arrived at Bast Castle he carried the jade box into his office and instructed his servants that he was not to be disturbed.
Examining the box Vader discovered that he needed to use the force to even open it.
This took considerably more effort than he originally thought.
Once it was open he discovered several scrolls made from neo-vellum that contained the writings of the Alonie.
He didn't know much about the Alonie only that they were an ancient race that had first discovered how to use the force.
The Alonie predated the Sith and Jedi in force use by several thousand years and had died out by the time the Sith and the Jedi had come into being.
Realising that he had a task before him he accessed the Imperial database and found translation programs for the Alonie and started to carefully scan the scrolls into his own personal database that he carefully encrypted to ensure that nobody even the Emperor could access the data until he had.
Darth Vader was stunned when he started reading the translated scrolls.
If the translations were correct he could use the force to heal all of his injuries and even bring his beloved Padme back from the dead.
But it would take an enormous amount of the force to do these things not to mention a great deal of pain.
The pain he could deal with as he hadn't had a moment without pain since Sidious had placed him in this force be-damned suit.
Hi internal injuries could be healed through meditation and using the force techniques of the Alonie.
Though it would be painful and even more so when he had to forcibly remove the internal connection to the life support suit.
No it was his missing limbs that would be the problem.
He would have to cut off the prosthetics and meditate for weeks in a bacta tank to replace them.
This he could do he would just have to time his actions so that his master didn't discover what he was doing.
Vader was sure that his master Darth Sidious would not be pleased if he was whole again.
After contemplating his situation and knowing the need for absolute secrecy he would cut off his prosthetics legs and one of his arms and regenerate those all in one go.
The other arm would have to wait for a later date but Sidious and his battle with Obi-Wan had taught him patience.
With this knowledge that he can be healed and his beloved Padme returned to him from death, Darth Vader starts preparations to returned himself to the man he once was.
All he needs to do is ensure that he keeps his master in the dark about his actions for if Sidious were to get hold of this information he would use it to gain the immortality that he so desires.
Darth Vader struggled with the meditative state that he requires to start the process.
Even in his former identity and occupation as a Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker he had difficulty meditating properly.
Realising that he needed help he decided to find the one person he knew would help him without judgement.
So he raised the bounty on Ahsoka Tano to two billion credits on the proviso that she be brought to him alive and unharmed.
Vader was sure that this was a bounty that few bounty hunter could resist.
Ahsoka Tano didn't know what was going on.
She was happily hiding from the Empire on Thabeska and Raada when every time she settled bounty hunters found her by the score.
Regardless of how many she killed they still came after her.
Darth Sidious wondered what his apprentice was up to.
He had offered a bounty on Ahsoka Tano for two billion credits and the only thing he could think of was that Vader wanted to turn his former Jedi padawan to the dark side and take her as his apprentice.
Sidious laughed at the sentimentality of his apprentice and contemplated seizing control of Ahsoka should Vader succeed in turning her to the dark side of the force.
Aurra Sing and her associates along with Black Krrsantan, the Wookie bounty hunter, had finally managed to capture Ahsoka Tano.
They were most impressed when Darth Vader himself turned up to take possession of Ahsoka Tano and advised them that the money was already in the Bounty Hunters Guild's account and would be released as they saw fit.
After the bounty hunters had left Darth Vader turned to Ahsoka Tano and said, "Snips you won't be needing that restraint collar as I have need of your abilities."
With this said the restraint collar fell from Ahsoka Tano's neck while she was left stunned that Darth Vader was none other than her former master Anakin Skywalker.
Ahsoka Tano was shocked and appalled by the condition of her former master.
Still she readily agreed to assist him in reaching the meditative state that he requires to start the process of force regeneration.
Silently she hoped that if his quest to recover from his injuries is successful as it might reverse his fall to the darkside of the force.
Ahsoka was horrified by the pain Skyguy was going through.
And this was only the start of his journey to repair the damage his body had suffered.
Still as Skyguy had told her there is no gain without pain.
But seeing him use the force to rip the artificial respirator and other devices from his internal organs was nearly too much to bare.
Darth Sidious too great delight in his apprentice's pain until he realised that Darth Vader's strength in the force was growing exponentially.
He wondered how that was happening as to his knowledge of the injuries suffered by his apprentice should have been a limiting factor on his ability to use the force.
Considering what he was feeling in the force he decided to summon his apprentice to his presence to personally find out what had caused the change in his apprentice.
Ahsoka Tano watched as her former master modified his life support suit so as to not give away the fact that he could now breathe without assistance.
She was amazed that in the two weeks she had been here with Anakin even if he claimed that that name had no meaning for him anymore with the change in his physical state.
Now they had to face Sidious and keep what they were doing secret from the senior Sith Lord.
Darth Sidious probed his apprentice with the force and was surprised that he blocked many of his probes.
Not that this was unexpected as any Sith Lord worth his salt wouldn't allow his master to probe his thoughts especially if he was plotting to overthrow his master.
Turning to examine Vader's force signature he wasn't surprised to find that his force presence had increased by an order of magnitude.
Sidious then turned to Ahsoka Tano and noticed that she still wore the restraining collar.
It seemed that she was still resisting the lure of the darkside of the force.
As she hadn't turned to the darkside he decided to leave her in his custody.
But if she didn't turn in the next few weeks then he would insist that Vader turn her over to his custody.
After his audience with Darth Sidious Vader realised that he was going to have to accelerate his regeneration at least where his physical condition was concerned.
He knew if he wanted to get Padme back he was going to have to kill Sheev Palpatine before he could expend the time and force energy to bring his beloved Padme back from the dead.
To do this he would need her body so he commissioned the Wookie bounty hunter Black Krrsantan, to recover her body from her tomb on Naboo and freeze it in carbonite until he was ready to attempt her regeneration.
