Chapter 5

Year 4

It's a Try-Tri-Wizard Thing

The first thing Harry and Hermione saw when Dobby teleported the two to Godric's Hollow was a war memorial in the center of the village. As they approached it, instead of an obelisk covered with war veterans who died in the war, it slowly transfigured into that of a family of three: a man with untidy hair and glasses, a woman with long hair and a kind, pretty face, and a small infant sitting in the mother's arms.

It took Harry a moment to realize that it was a depiction of him and his parents. A part of him wanted to stay there forever, the other part wanted to leave there and never return. After a few minutes, Hermione wrapped him into a gently hug and Harry began to feel a pain in his chest. After a long moment, the two returned to the task at hand and moved away.

They passed a church and a kissing gate entrance to a graveyard. Harry wondered if his parents were buried within the cemetery. Maybe, if they had time later, he would find out.

Hermione continued to pull him down the empty street leading out of the village in the opposite direction from which they had entered. Harry could make out the point where the cottages ended, and the lane turned into open country again. Past the pub that was steadily getting more packed as the evening grew darker.

They found Potter cottage in little time. Like many wizarding homes it was still unnoticed by mundane people. Because if anybody truly saw the cottage, they may ask what had happened to it and then ask why it wasn't repaired in all this time. Most of the cottage was still standing, though entirely covered in dark ivy and flowers of blue, violet, and white. The right side of the top floor had been blown apart, Harry was sure, that is where his room was located. He and Hermione stood at the gate, gazing up at the wreck of what must once have been a cottage just like those that flanked it.

Harry closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened them, his green eyes glowed with magic. Colors turned monochromatic just as magic bloomed with color. He saw the four stones in each of the corners of the property and studied the effects they had.

Muggle Notice-Me-Not and Muggle-Repelling charms were among the many. Nothing offensive and even strongly defensive in nature. Harry wondered if some of the protective wards were removed or if they were any there to begin with. Grabbing the gate to the property, Harry pushed a bit of magic into the gate and the gate opened on its own, allowing free passage to the property.

Holding Hermione's hand, they stepped into the property together. Harry felt the wards shift to rest on his shoulders. A sign appeared in the form of flowers that read:

On this spot, on the night of 31 October 1981,

Lily and James Potter lost their lives.

Their son, Harry, remains the only wizard ever to have survived the Killing Curse.

This house, invisible to Muggles, has been left in its ruined state as a monument to the Potters and as a reminder of the violence that tore apart their family.

Hermione tightened her grip and Harry sighed at the message. Thinking about the ward to prevent magical registry and making sure it was now active. He pulled out his wand out and cast a Finite on the message and it faded away. He did not want a message that reminded anyone of that night attached to the property. They strolled forward, approaching the open door.

Stepping into the home he waved his wand a performed a repairing charm, repairing the damaged door and returning it to the frame while fastening it all together. Inside, the walls and furniture were destroyed. With each step, Harry waved his wand repairing what he could and vanishing everything else. It cleared the way through the debris and roughly cleaned the floor so they could walk through.

The home was a bit small but cozy with a minimalistic and open floor plan with only a wall and staircase that separated the kitchen and the entryway. At some point Dobby showed up and began snapping his fingers, returning items hidden under debris and other things to shelves and wall mounts.

A tightness grew in Harrys chest as they moved through the house. This was where his parents last stand was. He could almost see it. His father providing what defense he could, allowing his mother to take baby Harry to safety. With the first floor straightened out for the most part, they moved on to the upstairs.

There was less damage here and Harry realized that his father mostly fought downstairs as his mom prepared him for the ritual that saved his life.

At the top of the stairs were two doors that were untouched. Peeking into both found his parents' bedroom and the other, a bathroom.

Turning around and staring down the open hallway they found… his bedroom. Like the front door, it too was blasted apart. Leaving only parts of the door on the floor. Air from the outside blew past them.

Stepping into the bedroom, he noticed that apart from the door, very little of the room was destroyed, as side from the wall opposite of the crib.

Harry noticed and pointed it out to Hermione a small book laying amongst the debris of the door. Hermione reached down and slowly lifted it from the pile. Turning it over, they read the title of the book, "Memoirs of Remnant."

Opening the cover, the handwritten words of the author appeared: 'Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past…'

They read the book of a man who had died in a great battle. But instead of living in the afterlife, had arrived here on earth falling through a gateway. A picture of the gateway was drawn. It talked about Auras and Semblances. Even giving some examples of Aura unlock rituals. However, each ritual required someone else who already had their aura unlocked to perform.

"Do you think that was why your mother altered the ritual so she could do it?" Hermione asked. She could see the exact ritual Lily Potter used and the modifications she incorporated. replacing her own life and magic to complete it. 'I wonder if the ritual used would alter the outcome in abilities?'

Harry nodded in agreement. "She would have had to, to get over the not having her own aura unlocked at the time." Although Harry wasn't paying much attention as he was looking at a strange symbol on the crib and scrunching his face in confusion.

Hermione picked up on his face and asked, "What is it, Harry."

"This symbol," Harry replied, while pointing to it. "It's not a Rune."

Hermione took a closer look at it but couldn't recognize it either.

Soon they pushed the symbol from their mind and continued with their task at returning the cottage to a livable condition.

With Dobby continuing to clean up the home, Harry set up his trunk in the backyard and began salvaging anything and everything into the different rooms. What little books they found went into the library, bedroom furniture from both rooms were moved into the other bedrooms, etc. He also setup one of the trunk location for the windows of the trunk and port-key features to the property.

Hermione sat down in a repaired chair and began reading the book of Remnant. After everything was cleaned and put away, they returned to the Grangers, via Harry's trunk port-key function.

Three nights later both Harry and Hermione returned to the Potter Cottage to perform the ritual. It technically didn't have to be at Potter Cottage, but Hermione still wanted to have it performed there. The ritual was slightly changed due to the newly discovered book and learning the differences in the other rituals. They were going to attempt an alteration to purposely select Hermione's Aura and Semblance.

Harry stood in his childhood bedroom at Potter Cottage with one hand on her forehead, the other over her heart. Harry began, "It is in knowledge that we gain understanding. Through it, we gain the power to shape our own life and that of others. Infinite in potential and unbound by power, I release your soul, and by my mind, I enlighten thee."

As soon as Harry completed the ritual, he felt a great loss in strength and power, both of which was being fed into Hermione at an unbelievable rate.

Hermione felt the intake of power and strength from Harry until she felt it reach her heart and mind. Then she felt an unfamiliar power begin to push back from the intruding energy… but also merging with it in a way. She felt her eyes blaze hotter than at any point, so bright in fact that they altered in the color for just a bit from brown to gold before reverting into a sunset brown.

Over the next few hours, they worked to see what type of semblance Hermione had managed to acquire. After that time, they still didn't know what it was, other than verifying that her aura had been activated.

Much of Harry's and Hermione's vacation was spent at Potter Cottage with the few trips to Diagon Alley for a few new books, to Grimmauld Place to meet up with Sirius, and to a new opened martial arts studio in London where Harry learned the art of Wing Chun. Harry's birthday came and went without much fanfare. A few hundred new books were added to Harry's library, compliments of the Black family's residence in London. Harry only needed to rid the house of an insane house elf who tried attacking him and Hermione during their first visit and upon orders from a screeching portrait, which was also burned fairly well. They also received their OWL results were they received twelve OWL's All being O's, 'Outstanding' or OH's, Outstanding with Honors.'

In late August, the two received letters from both Neville and Susan about an attack at the Quidditch World Cup as several Death Eaters were sighted terrorizing fans after the match. They then vanished after the Dark Mark was summoned in the air. Harry had Dobby grab a copy of the new paper. Amongst the other letters was their Hogwarts letter Stating that they would be entering their sixth-year curriculum. Interestingly enough, the letter called for Dress Robes. Setting the letter down Harry went over and pulled 'Wizarding Customs and Traditions' out and read up on the whys that Hogwarts students were required to have Dress Robes. Interestingly enough, Dress Robes were only used when the Tri-Wizard Tournament was active for the traditional Yule Ball that happened on the 24th of December.

Harry let out a loud sigh, which caught Hermione and her parents' attention.

"Harry?" Hermione asked, curious.

"Hermione, have you ever heard of the Tri-Wizard Tournament?"

She thought for a moment before shaking her head in the negative, "Can't say that I have… why."

"Our Hogwarts letter called for Dress Robes this year. So, I looked it up in 'Wizarding Customs and Traditions.' Dress Robes are usually called for during time where the school is playing host to an event called the Tri-Wizard Tournament," Harry explained.

"So, what is this Tri-Wizard Tournament," asked Emma, while Dan nodded.

"The Triwizard Tournament was first established some seven hundred years ago as a friendly competition between the three largest European schools of wizardry: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. A champion was selected to represent each school, and the three champions competed in three magical tasks. The schools took it in turns to host the tournament once every five years, and it was generally agreed to be a most excellent way of establishing ties between young witches and wizards of different nationalities… until, that is, the death toll mounted so high that the tournament was discontinued."

"Death toll?" Dan asked, looking alarmed. Hermione and Emma weren't too thrilled about a tournament that caused death in the past being revived.

Harry nodded in agreement, "The judges for the Tournament comprising the headmasters or headmistresses of each of the schools and two ministry officials at the time, mostly the head of Magical Games and Sports and the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation. The Triwizard Tournament ended in 1792. During that event, the first tasks involved catching a cockatrice. However, the beast went on a rampage and injured each of the school Heads and killed the two ministry judges. This was after all three champions were killed. Not to mention about half the spectators. Needless to say, all future tournaments were then cancelled due to this incident. There have been several unsuccessful attempts over the years to resurrect it, all being unsuccessful. Now, somebody in the ministry is trying to revive this tournament once again."

"But why bring it back?" Emma asked.

"I can see the why's, I can even see the how's. The Tournament was used to evaluate the schools against each other. Sort of bragging rights, how one school is better than another."

"But still," Hermione said. "It seems a bit… much."

Harry nodded. "If they restrict the tasked by lowering the class of beasts used and focus more on magical knowledge and problem solving it might be fun." Harry then waved his hand in a dismissive fashion. "It's not like I would be willing to enter myself in it. I would really like to get my exams for college and get most of my NEWT's completed. Not that I really need a job after school. Being both Lord Potter and heir Black, I am in no lack of funds to live comfortably."

"Still, an education is still a nice thing to have," commented Dan.

"Oh, don't get me wrong. I thinks so too," replied Harry. "I just don't want to feel like I'm being forced into working on something not of my choosing. I would rather work on some new invention or creation to help in the future and bolster the Potter account."

The four continued to talk about plans for the future until they each headed for bed.

The final week of August, Harry and Hermione stopped by Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions for their Dress Robes. However, seeing the rather unflattering style, they chose to head out to London for a nice suit and dress. Unfortunately, Harry was required to purchase an outer Robe jacket in Acromantula silk to go over the Tuxedo. Harry found a very nice and expensive black three-piece suit with pin-stripes in an Italian style and which had a light blue shirt and dark blue and bronze tie set… It was very nice. Hermione found a very nice Royal Blue Anne Formal Lattice Satin dress along with a few accessories for the dress including nice high heel dress shoes. A few charms and they were the most comfortable pair of shoes she had ever owned. Of course, Harry made sure that a nice diamond necklace, earrings, and bracelet were added into the purchase.

Harry also purchased a variety of training equipment including a Wing Chun dummy, a body opponent that Hermione promptly marked pressure points on with a marker, and a free-standing punching bag. All of which were then moved into Harry's exercise room within his trunk.

Harry then began instructing Hermione in the variety of different martial arts that he knew about. Interesting enough, Hermione was able to learn and begin improving on the techniques almost immediately.

On the train ride back to Hogwarts, the two Ravenclaws sat with Luna Lovegood; an up and coming third year, as well as Neville, Susan, and Hannah. After finding out about Marietta Edgecombe and a few others attempting to make fun of her. Harry vowed to stop them, and Hermione decided to look after her on the girls' side of the dorms. Although, she mostly hung out with Ginny Weasley and a few other friends.

They talked about the World Cup and the attack afterwards, the Tri-Wizard Tournament which surprised everyone that Harry and Hermione had figured out what their parents/guardians were keeping from them. They told them about beginning their sixth year for Harry and Hermione and explained that they would still try to keep the study sessions going for anyone who wanted to attend.

That night at the Arrival Feast, Harry learned that there newest professor was a beat up and scarred old Auror, who was pulled out of retirement due to Dumbledore. Dumbledore also informed the students, or those who were uninformed before arriving at Hogwarts, about the Tri-Wizard Tournament and explained some of the rules and restrictions, which put the Weasley twins into a fit of chaos. Harry didn't care, he was going to focus on his work and maybe see a task… if he had the time.

The secret news that both Harry and Hermione were allowed to skip two years of education and slide into the sixth-year classes made it till third period. All of the six-year students wondered what two fourteen-year-old students were doing in their classes and the fact that no fourth-year student realize the two weren't in any of their classes. It didn't bother the two as they were eager to study hard in their respective classes. Snape was especially vindictive in his class, and they wondered if self-study wouldn't be a better way to go, after all Harry's Potion/Chemistry lab was setup much better than the dungeon's classroom.

After two weeks of dealing with Snape, the two dropped his class in favor of the self-study option. It was only the fact that they were on their NEWT's levels that they could do this.

Despite not having to be burdened by Potions, Snape and Moody was consistent in turning up where Harry was walking down the hallway. If Harry didn't know better, he would almost think he was being spied on.

A week before Halloween, Moody showed the class the three Unforgivables and then demonstrated the Imperius Curse on each of the students. After which the two decided to wear their Crysis suits at all times. There were just too many enemies inside the walls of Hogwarts these days. And now that they were teaching the three Unforgivables in class, things could get deadly if anyone were so malice to actually use it on someone despite being sent to Azkaban for life.

~HP-RWBY~

Three days before Halloween, the two other schools arrived at Hogwarts. The first to arrive were the Beauxbatons students in a Cinderella style flying carriage being pulled by twelve Palomino Abraxan horses. They soon landed on a mostly flat area of land. After a few moments someone just as large as Hagrid stepped out of the carriage along with a contingent of their students ranging from fourteen to eighteen. They greeted Dumbledore but didn't stay long before heading into the castle.

Then a Gryffindor shouted, "The lake!"

All eyes turned in the direction of the Black Lake where a 16th century Spanish galleon, possessing a quarterdeck and forecastle appeared out from under the lake. It was square-rigged and had two masts.

The ship rose from the still waters of the Black Lake and moved over towards land. Within minutes, a plank was moved out and the headmaster led a group of students off the ship. They were met by Headmaster Dumbledore and were too escorted into the castle.

Harry didn't stay too long before linking arms with Hermione and striding into the Great Hall of Hogwarts for the arrival feast for the welcoming schools. Once seated, Harry noticed that the head table had an additional four seats. Two of which were occupied by two older gentlemen, one in an old Quidditch jersey and the other in an upper-class business attire.

With everyone seated and relatively calmed down, Professor Dumbledore stood and moved to the speaking podium used for announcements.

"Before we welcome our visiting guests, I would like to remind everyone to be on their best behavior as we welcome the lovely ladies of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic… and their headmistress, Madame Maxime!"

With that last bit, the large doors of the Great Hall opened and girls, ranging from fourteen to eighteen, glided their way into the great hall as well as a few boys. Over by the Gryffindor table the two could hear Ron Weasley pant out, "Bloody Hell."

The Beauxbatons students were followed up by the tallest woman Harry had ever seen. Madame Maxime stood over eleven foot in height, her head just shy of the height of the great hall doors.

The girls crisscrossed and formed a line and bowed to the Hogwarts' students. Dumbledore gave Maxime a kiss to her knuckles. She then dismissed her students who opted to join the Ravenclaw table as Maxine took one of the larger chair opposite of Hagrid, who couldn't keep his eyes off of her, leading to our head of house discomfort as he was stabbed in his hand by Hagrid's fork.

Dumbledore returned to the podium, "And now our friends from the north. Please greet the proud sons… and daughters… of Durmstrang… and their high master, Igor Karkaroff."

Again, the doors opened as in rows of two, students marched into the great hall. Dressed in heavy wool clothes, many of them were beginning to sweat just a bit. The group of students were walking ahead of their High master, Igor Karkaroff. However, there was another student who walked right next to him as his favored.

Igor Karkaroff looked to be a surly man who didn't even pretend to have a neutral expression on his face.

Around the great hall the whispers of, "Victor Krum," could be heard.

After the two headmasters greeted and the visiting headmaster sat down, the Durmstrang students moved over to the Slytherin table for their meals.

Dumbledore returned once again to the podium for another speech. "The tournament will be officially opened at the end of the feast," said Dumbledore. "I now invite you all to eat, drink, and make yourselves at home!" And he too, returned to his seat. Once he sat down, the house elves began their work as food started to arrive on the tables for everyone to begin their meal.

Near the end of the meal, four men from the Ministry carried in an ornate case decorated in gold and dark browns.

As the meal ended Dumbledore moved to the ornate case. "Your attention, please!" Dumbledore called out to everyone in the great hall. "I would like to say a few words."

"Eternal glory."

"That is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament."

Harry snorted at that statement. 'Who even remembers the last champion to even win the Triwizard Tournament.'

Dumbledore continued, "… but to do this, that student must survive nine tasks, three being extremely dangerous. For this reason, we have the head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation… Mister Bartemius Crouch."

'Nine task?' harry thought. 'That was new?'

The well dress wizard stood up and moved up to the podium as Dumbledore stepped back. "After due consideration… and after many talks about the tasks… the Ministry has concluded that for their own safety… no student under the age of fourteen shall be allowed to put forth their name for the Triwizard Tournament. It has also been addressed that the number of tasks and the number of champions are to be increased."

Most of the students were now confused. Many thinking they would just restrict the champions to of age witches and wizards, meaning seventeen.

Mister Crouch continued, "Although there will be a single primary champion, who are to be of age, from each of the three schools, there will be two additional minor champions to assist the school's champion in the six additional task that will be set forth during the traditional weighing of the wands ceremony."

Many murmurs of doubt and confusion spread throughout the great hall before Dumbledore stepped forwards and shouted for silence.

With that the ministry official stepped back and Dumbledore activated the Goblet of fire by touching his wand to the case. Its reformed into a large golden goblet while blue flames lit and danced over it.

"The Goblet of Fire," the aged headmaster stated. "Anyone wishing to submit themselves to the tournament… need only write their name upon a piece of parchment… and throw it in the flame before this hour two days morrow. But do not do so lightly. If chosen, there's no turning back. As of this moment, the Triwizard Tournament has begun."

With that speech, everyone in the great hall made their exit for the dorms and the comforts of their beds.

~HP-RWBY~

For the next two days, students from each of the three schools and within the age group, submitted their names, one of them being Draco Malfoy, and all of the Weasley boys, the Weasley twins: Fred and George and their youngest, Ron.

Neither Harry nor Hermione decide to put forth their name as they really wanted to pull ahead on their studies and be ready for their NEWT's as soon as possible.

The night of the drawing for the school champions was a buzz of excitement. Each of the houses had their favorites. Slytherin was looking to Lucian Bole, despite the idiot not being as bad as Marcus Flint, but it was close. He didn't like much of the Slytherin Quidditch team due to their underhandedness during some of the matches. Gryffindor had Angelina Johnson who seem to have a thing for one of the Weasley twins. Hufflepuff rooted for Cedric Diggory, who Harry had help last year. As for Ravenclaw, they were looking for Rodger Davies for the win. Harry secretly hoped it to be Cedric due to Hufflepuff needing more recognition than they currently had.

They were again treated with a feast that rivaled that of the arrival feast. Once everyone was done, the benches were moved, then changed to allow the chosen students to step forwards without difficulty.

With the time approaching for the Goblet to make its choice, Dumbledore called out for everyone to quiet down and take a seat.

Once most of the students have taken their seats, Dumbledore spoke again, "Now the moment you've all been waiting for… the champion selection." He then dimmed the lighting with some wandless magic making the Goblet's flame shine all the brighter.

Then it happened, the blue flames turned red, and a piece of parchment shot out before returning to blue. The parchment fell into the headmaster's outstretched hand, "And the Primary champion for Durmstrang is… Victor Krum!"

Krum stood and collected the parchment and stepped off to one side.

The blue flames then turned green, and two other pieces of parchment shot out and were collected by Dumbledore. "And the two collaborator champions for Durmstrang are… Samuel Poliakoff and… Sarah Dimitriova!"

A boy of around sixteen years of age and a girl slightly younger stepped forwards. The three were then led into were the trophy room was located.

Once the three had left, the Goblet lit again with red fire. "The Primary Champion for Beauxbatons is… Fleur Delacour."

Another gust of green flames, another two names were given. "And her two collaborating champions for Beauxbatons are… Annabel Russo and… Raphael Di Motto!"

Another two stepped forward, only in reverse, the girl being the older of the pair.

Once again, the three were led off to the other room.

The flames turned red, and another parchment was spit from the goblet. "And finally, the Hogwarts champion is… Cedric Diggory!"

Cedric stepped forward from his girlfriend Cho Chang's arms and stepped up to the aged headmaster and received his parchment before stepping to the side.

And then the flames turn green for the last time and two names were read out. "And the two collaborator champions for Hogwarts are…" Dumbledore paused at the names or rather one of the names. Regret in his voice at the howlers he would no doubt receive, he proclaimed, "They are… Fred Weasley and…" Dumbledore looked to have sucked on a very rotten lemon drop, "… Draco Malfoy!"

Many chuckles were heard in the great hall; however, Draco strode up to the headmaster with great confidence. Fred looked to be in complete disbelief. He had no idea that he would have to work with a Malfoy.

The three, like the others were escorted into the trophy room. Once they were out of the great hall Dumbledore turn and called out, "Excellent! We now have our three teams of champions." He calmed down a bit before continuing, "But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one, will hoist this… chalice of champions… this vessel of victory… the Triwizard Cup!" And with a wandless banishment charm, the cloth cover blew off, revealing a silver and crystal cup. Snape stepped forwards then, as did many of the other professors, as the cup fought something before turning red once more, indicating another Primary Champion.

Dumbledore winced at the brightness of the flame. He reached up and grabbed the sole bit of parchment before the goblet's flame went out.

He looked down at the name… and tried to mouth the name but couldn't. He then whispered, "Harry Potter." Looking up he called out louder, "Harry Potter?"

All eyes turned to Harry in… confusion? Accusations? Accusing? All of the above?

Harry's mind spun in directions he didn't know which. Dumbledore shouting out his name as well as Hermione prodding him in his side, forced Harry into standing and heading towards the headmaster. He only heard Hermione saying that he needed to do this, for the sake of his magic and life. She must have known more about magical contracts than he did. And so, he moved.

The paper handed to him, had only his signature written upon it, "Harry Potter." No school… nothing and it looked to have been torn from one of his homework assignments. That at least pointed towards a teacher at the school.

He still was directed towards the trophy room. With the goblet not lit, there would be no champions to aid him in this, officially that is. He would get help from his friends of course. But they would not be bound to the tournament as he was as of this point, which was a good thing in his books.

During his trip to the trophy room Harry could hear words of abuse from others, calling him a cheat, and giving him the same look as he got in his second year. Everyone knew that he managed to get into the sixth-year courses, and they probably work that into the rumor somehow.

~HP-RWBY~

When Harry entered the trophy room, he saw the three groups of champions and had moved off to a side that was not occupied, not wanting to be a part of either group.

Cedric moved forward, "What is it?" he asked. "Do they want us back in the Hall?"

Draco was snickering at Harry's look. Harry wondered if he knew what had happened and if he had something to do with it.

Before Harry could respond, they all began hearing shouts coming from outside and all eyes were directed towards the door leading to the Great Hall.

Harry turned around to find Albus Dumbledore barreling towards him, an angry expression on his face. Behind him, Madam Maxime, Igor Karkaroff, Professor McGonagall, Snape, the two ministry officials, and following everyone was Professor Moody.

The moment Dumbledore grabbed both of his shoulders and begin to push him into a table hard. By being stunned and the forceful grab, Harry reacted, and his body moved without thinking.

Both arms of the headmaster's were knocked away, they were then followed by two strikes, one to the head: breaking the nose, and one to the solar plexus. With that the old man passed out, Harry sensing motion to his right, spun and grabbed the nearest wand. It just happen to be from Dumbledore's waist as he was falling. Quickly and silently, he cast a massive banishing charm at his newest opponent, Snape. Who was stopped by a wall full of trophies on the other side of the room and was now laying in a pile of them.

Moody was rather fast with his casting too, only for it to hit Harry's Crisis Suit that Harry and Hermione have been wearing since DADA and the Unforgivables. Nevertheless, the spell was quickly absorbed by the material and Harry's suit instantly doubled in its strength, durability, and speed. The world around Harry slowed, and Harry spun around and saw another few spells heading his way. Harry crouched and then leaped into a roll across the path of the spells, and stood, grabbing Moody's wand arm with his left hand while casted a cutting curse with his newly acquired wand, bisecting the retired Auror's wand in half.

Harry wondered briefly on how well Dumbledore's wand performed in his hands over his old Holly and Phoenix feather wand ever did.

Pushing the thought back for a later date, Harry refocused on the fight. He spun around and performed a reverse leg sweep that knocked Moody's fake leg off of him which flew in the direction of Malfoy, who had just pulled out his wand in an attempt to curse him and received a prosthetic leg in the face for his trouble.

Moody's body was nearly horizontal to the ground when Harry performed another banishing charm rocketing the scarred man into the opposite wall as Snape with a similar effect, knocking the man out and in a pile of trophies.

Harry eased from his combat stance but waited for the next attacker if they chose to do so. The whole fight took less than a few seconds to complete and most of the other guests just stood there, petrified at the action and damage that one young wizard had wrought.

Taking in the scene, Harry now noticed what he had done and the reactions of the others. Most were now afraid or worried about Harry's continuing the attack. A slight tingle at the back of his mind, was attempting to not have him attack the older Beauxbatons champion and to do whatever she said. Harry raised his mental barriers further and the effect disappeared. The only physical reaction was the raising of a single eyebrow.

"I hope," said Harry, rather slowly, breathing in and out in a slow and controlling manner. "… that somebody will tell me why… I was just man handled by an old man… and was forced to defend myself?"

It was at this point that Crouch from the ministry stepped up and said, "We would like to know how and why your name came out of the cup and why there was no other collaborator champions to go along with your name from the cup."

"Well, it would have been better if you would have just asked me. Rather than being manhandled to begin with… or shouted at the fact that I had somehow cheated my way into a tournament. I had no intention in even attending as I have a lot of material for classes to do this year."

Cedric, who was in many of Harry's classes vouched for the fact that Harry and Hermione were dedicated to their studies.

Crouch grimmest, "Yes," the man sighed, "you're right, Mister Potter." He sighed again, "I do not know why we came in here with that attitude or why Albus decided to confront you like that." He looked over to the aged headmaster where Professor McGonagall was ascertaining the status of Dumbledore while a silver-glowing cat ran off for Madam Pomfrey's help.

Ten minutes later, after Dumbledore was aroused and Snape was moved off to the hospital wing that a further complication happened that night. As Moody's body was getting ready to be moved, it began to shift and change. Moody's face changed, the scars began to disappear, His skin was becoming smoother; the mangled nose became whole and started to shrink. The long mane of grizzled gray hair was withdrawing into the scalp and turning the color of straw. Where Moody's stump was once located, a normal leg grew in its place; next moment, the magical eyeball that defined, 'Mad-Eye Moody', popped out of the man's face as a real eye replaced it; it rolled away across the floor and continued to swivel in every direction.

Harry had never seen this man before but knew what had happened. The man had been using Polyjuice potion to take on the appearance of the Mad Auror. For how long? Then he saw Mister Crouch bring up his wand in the direction of the man and before Crouch could send off a spell, Harry had the man stunned and bound before he fell over, stiff as a board.

It was then up to Ludo Bagman and Albus Dumbledore to identify the man on the stretcher as Barty Crouch junior. Apparently, the man was supposed to be dead after being placed in Azkaban for being a death eater. He also was part of the group who attacked and permanently damaged the Lord and Lady Longbottom.

With everything that happened, and with great reluctance from the Headmaster, Amelia Bones, Head of the DMLE, Department of Magical Law Enforcement, was called in to investigate the once dead death eater return from the living and what happened to the real Alistair Moody. They placed some form of magical restraining cuffs on both Crouches and spoke with everyone else.

From there it was left to Dumbledore and Bagman to tell everyone of the Weighing of the Wand ceremony, where they would be testing and examining each of their wands for reliability.

As Harry was about to leave, Dumbledore had asked for his wand back is it clearly did not belong to the Potter boy. Harry did return the wand. But as Dumbledore held the wand, he knew that the wand no longer belonged to him as it had been won from him, just as he had won the wand from the previous owner. However, Dumbledore did not make this known to anyone in the room.

Albus Wulfric Dumbledore stood there as the Potter child walked out of the room with the allegiance of the Elder Wand, but thankfully not in his possession. And due to the wand changing allegiance, meant that Dumbledore could no longer maintain the wands ownership. But he could keep it from the Peverell line. He just hoped that the boy never found the stone before he could be sacrificed for the greater good.

~HP-RWBY~

Three days later, Harry was given a note with a time and place of the Weighing of the Wand Ceremony the next day, thankfully it was during the free period before lunch.

Harry arrived in the second-floor classroom to see that he was nearly the last to enter. However, the most interesting thing was that of Draco's parents were yelling at the headmaster and Ludo Bagman about allowing their precious son to enter himself into this tournament despite Draco being a willing competitor, unlike Potter.

There were also three reporters in the classroom and at the center of the room stood Mister Ollivander. Harry noticed that the senior Crouch was not present, nor was Moody.

In his stead was a tall thin man by the name of Pius Thicknesse who would take the place of the now imprisoned Mister Crouch.

Draco showed up not five minutes later with his head of house in tow. Draco looked at his parents and cringed. Despite being egged on by Nott for the two to enter. He really didn't expect that he would be selected.

Dumbledore, seeing everyone was now present stepped forward and began to speak, "Welcome everyone to the Goblet of Fire's Wand Weighing Ceremony for this year's tournament. Today, each of the champions that were selected will have their wand evaluated for use in the upcoming tasks by our own wand crafter, Mister Ollivander. Please, as your name is called, step forward and had over your wand for evaluation, thank you."

"Victor Krum"

"Hmm," said Mr. Ollivander, "this is a Gregorovitch creation, unless I'm much mistaken? A fine wand-maker, though the styling is never quite what I however…" He lifted the wand and examined it minutely, turning it over and over before his eyes. "Yes, hornbeam and dragon heartstring?" he shot at Krum, who nodded. "Rather thicker than one usually sees… quite rigid… ten and a quarter inches, Avis!"

The hornbeam wand let off a blast like a gun, and a number of small, twittering birds flew out of the end and through the open window into the watery sunlight.

"Samuel Poliakoff"

Samuel's wand was shorter, nine and three-quarters inch made out of Mahogany and had a Ukrainian Ironbelly Heartstring for its core.

"Sarah Dimitriova"

Her wand was made from Purple Heart and was infused by a Dragon Heartstring from an Antipodean Opaleye and was the same as Harry's at eleven inches.

"Fleur Delacour" She stepped forward and handed over her wand.

The wand maker promptly twirled it between his long fingers like a baton and it emitted a number of pink and gold sparks. Then he held it close to his eyes and examined it carefully. "Yes," he said quietly, "nine and a half inches inflexible rosewood and a hair of a…, dear me, Veela. How extraordinary."

"Annabel Russo," was next.

Annabel wand was ten and a half inches made from Cherry with a Pegasus Feather core. It also had what looked to be vines carved down the length of the wand and wrapped around the handle area.

"Raphael Di Motto"

His was Rowan wood and a tail feather of a Hippogriff. Twelve and one quarter inches.

"Cedric Diggory, your next"

"Ah, now, this is one of mine, isn't it?" said Mr. Ollivander, with much more enthusiasm, as Cedric handed over his wand. "Yes, I remember it well. Containing a single hair from the tail of a particularly fine male unicorn. It must have been at least seventeen hands; nearly gored me with his horn after I plucked his tail. Twelve and a quarter inches, ash, pleasantly springy. It's in fine condition."

Mr. Ollivander sent a stream of silver smoke rings across the room from the tip of Cedric's wand, pronounced himself satisfied.

"Fred Weasley, your next."

He walked over and handed his wand over to the wand maker who studied the wand before creating a burst of fireworks in the shape of a dragon that roared once before dissipating and handing back the wand.

"Draco Malfoy."

Draco reluctantly handed over his wand. Ollivander performed the same examination. "Hawthorn and unicorn hair. Ten inches precisely. Reasonably springy. Oh, I see you treat it regularly."

Draco smiled a bit and said, "Polished it last night."

The wand maker looked closely at the fourth year and said, "you know… polishing your wand to much will cause you to go blind," in a deadpan voice.

"Really?" Draco asked.

Many chuckles were heard at the boys' expense. Snape and his parents didn't look too pleased at the statement either by the wand maker. Harry wondered how his last visit to the wand maker turned out to get mocked so and why the boy was too thick to understand that he was being mocked at all.

And lastly, "Harry Potter"

Harry handed over his phoenix and Holly wand for Ollivander to examine. After little fanfare, he proclaimed it was still in perfect working order.

With that Ludo steeped forward and asked if there was anything else.

One of the female reporters called out, "Photos."

"Awe, yes. Photos."

Dumbledore also stepped forward, "We also need to explain the time, date, and what the first task is, Ludo."

"Correct, Professor Dumbledore," Bagman said clapping his hands together once. "Now, the first task for all of the champions will be a duel. The winners of each duels will receive points for their school. These points are to be traded in during the third task. These points can also be used to receive information on what they will be facing for that task or… used to allow the use of any additional magical items by the primary champion and used in facing whatever is in the third task."

"Any questions? No, good," He asked without giving any time to ask anything. "Now then if you all could standby for some photos, this shouldn't take long."

They then stood around having their pictures taken for the next hour and a half. When it was over, nearly all of the champions ran to the Great Hall for a last chance at any of the remaining food for the lunch period. Harry didn't bother with the challenge and headed down to the kitchens for a soup, salad, and sandwich lunch. None of the champions was a Ravenclaw, obviously.

~HP-RWBY~

Over the next week the Quidditch pitch was transformed into a raised platform for the Dueling ring with additional bleacher seating all around the stadium.

That weekend, ten champions and six referees stood on the dueling platform for the first rounds of the champions' duel. Due to Harry not having other champions to assist him with the task. He had a few choices to work with.

The first was for him to allow others to join him in the task. However, they would be forced into a contract similar to what the other champions were in. This would have been ok if it weren't for the contract or the fact, they would have to be a part of the tournament as a whole. Meaning they could not back out if they did not want to continue or if they got hurt and couldn't continue. This was an argument from Hermione that was stopped only by the intervention of the Granger parents stepping in.

The second, was to forfeit all of the slots that would be fill by one of his assistant's champions to participate in, hence losing any points that could be received. As the lower champion years received 3 points for each win, the middle champion receiving five points, and the Primary champions receiving ten points for each win. Harry didn't like this option either.

The third and final chose was to fill all of the positions with himself and duel anytime his team was called. This would theoretically allow him to get more points as he felt that he would be the better duelist of most of the champions. It was also the choice he opted to go with.

So now instead of having to fight only three other opponents, he would be fighting all nine. Six duels on Saturday and three duels on Sunday. Harry eyed each of the other champions.

Saturday would be all of the Lower and middle champions where no duel shall go past thirty minutes and Sunday would be reserved for the primary champion duels where duels could go no longer than an hour.

~HP-RWBY~

Saturday

The duels began every thirty minutes with times set aside for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So, if the duel were over in a few minutes, champions would have that much more time to get healed or to recover any magical strength they had lost.

Harry's first duel was Poliakoff of Durmstrang. The Durmstrang champion fought hard and fast leaving nothing for the next duel. Unfortunately, he didn't have the endurance to last five minutes. In the end, Harry tagged him with a stunner and a summoning charm for his wand, ending the duel. After Harry was declared the winner, Harry walked to the center of the ring to return the champions his wand and give a firm shake of the hands. Harry wanted to not cause any offence if he could help it.

The next match was Fred Weasley who lost to the sixth year Durmstrang champion. Unfortunately, Fred lost came by a blasting Curse and was knocked from the ring.

Draco lost in less than two minutes to the French fifth year by a cutting hex to his wand arm and a follow up banishing charm, sending him out of the ring.

Harry had nearly an hour before his next match with the French middle champion. She was rather technical in her casting and Harry was forced to use to strong blasting curses and some elemental transfigurations to pin her down long enough to tag her with a stunner. That duel nearly lasted nearly the full thirty minutes. Thankfully, lunch was just after the duel, so he had a good rest period.

After Lunch, Harry fought Fred Weasley, who didn't seem to be very good at dueling. Fred was forced to lose his second match of the day after losing to the Durmstrang middle champion.

Harry then fought the Beauxbatons lower champion and decimated him in less than a few minutes.

After a bye duel, Harry dueled Malfoy and in less than two-minutes where Harry allowed Draco to throw any spell he could at Harry before Harry simple and not too gentle casted a banishing charm, throwing the Ferret off the dueling ring, allowing Harry to win the duel.

His last bout for the day was against the Durmstrang middle champion. That battle was the most spectacular of the day as Harry was pulling everything he had learned over the last three years in order to come out victorious. From creating fog, to summoning snakes and giving them order via Parseltongue. The Durmstrang champion used multiple golems and water elemental magics to make the platform harder to move around and Harry used his better fitness to dodge many of the attacks instead of using shields. In the end, Harry used the broken remains from a blasted ten-foot earth golem and banishing charm towards the champion, forcing the Durmstrang champion to jump from the platform or get peppered by fist size or larger rocks.

And that concluded the first day of the dueling portion of the tournament. As the champions relaxed over a nice supper meal, Harry reflected on the fact that the next day's duels would be against those who would be gearing up for their NEWT's exams at the end of the school year.

The rest of the day Harry and Hermione worked with their seventh-year course books in order to find anything that might surprise him the next day.

~HP-RWBY~

The Sunday's dueling events were for all of the primary champions, Digory, Delacour, Krum, and Harry being forced into participating. Despite his forced entry, Harry was coming to enjoy the dueling task as it allowed him to work his knowledge of spells into spell chains. Spell chains that he had never known swam to the surface of his thoughts.

He studied the first duel between Cedric and the French champion, Delacour. Cedric was well rounded but lacking in a specialty to make it a win. Fleur Delacour had a more focused and technical fight. She would use area effects but relied on piercing or small cutting curses to wear down her opponent. She managed a win but just barely.

Harry's first fight of the day was against Krum. Harry noticed that the Durmstrang champion walk was awkward and not at all smooth. So, it was to no one's surprise when the only thing Krum fired was blasting curses and Harry was forced into creating many shields when he wasn't able to dodge out of the way. So, when Harry got a moment to think, Harry laid down a torrent of water that covered most of Krum's side of the ring and hit it with a Glacius charm to freeze the water. He then summoned the champion's clothes and then promptly banished them. This caused the champion to fall on the ice and slide off the ring.

Unfortunately, this only lead to a ten-minute rest period due to his next match being against the French champion.

Despite his ability revitalizing his body, his magical strength was waning. Despite it all, Harry stood on the platform for his second match of the day. The first few spells that were exchanged were light and probing and they quickly escalated into the elemental range. They both created golems to fight each other. Fleur creating a tall ice golem and Harry a stone golem. It was when she managed to get around his defenses when it happened. Harry's power slipped and the stone golem collapse. His body sensing trouble changed how he now received his magical strength. Altering his magic from being completely internal to a mixture of both inner and external sources. With the flood of magical power coming from outside the body new knowledge bypassed his core and the universe opened before him in a blossom of bright white light and then darkness took him.

Harry awoke sometime afterward in a beds used to heal injuries from the dueling ring. Hermione sat beside him reading one of their seventh-year course books. She wasn't concerned as she knew of Harry's abilities. But as Harry's eyes rested on her she looked up and smiled. Pulling her wand out, she waved it around casting a privacy ward and notice-me-not charm around the two of them. She then leaned forward and asked, "Did you adapt?"

Looking around the two of them. Harry couldn't see anyone, not detecting anyone Harry turned back and nodded.

She smile, "good, because I felt it too."

That brought Harry up short, "What?"

"When your body flashed and then fell, I felt something happen to me as well. I can now feel others all around me. I can also sense when something is going to happen."

Harry nodded, "It's a strange feeling."

Hermione nodded in return.

"So?"

"So," Hermione explained the outcome. "You fell and Delacour was declared the winner. As you have slept, Madam Pomphrey declared you unfit for your next and last match; so Digory was declared the victor for that round as well. With all of your victories yesterday and your one against Krum this morning, you now had a total of thirty-four points and are in second place.

She continued on with the final results, "Cedric's team managed a total of two wins, Fred managed a single win against his French counterpart, Annabel Russo; and Digory received a win against you, giving them a total of fifteen points."

"The French team, with Raphael Di Motto beating Draco and Fleur's win over you and Cedric, they all received a total of twenty-three points."

"Team Krum is in first placed with thirty-six points. Victor Krum and each of his other teammates managed a win two of their matches in their peer group."

"After the last match, everyone was told that there will be a meeting tomorrow to explain the spending of points for clues or wavers and how the points will alter how the last task will change due to the point totals at the time."

"So, I now ask you… are you ready to get out of that bed, sleepy head?"

Harry grumbled a reply and a smile, "I believe so," and moved out from the beddings.

~HP-RWBY~

Due to Harry's sleep period that day, he stayed up late looking over a few more books that would be assigned to seventh years. He also spent more time inwardly looking at his magical core or what was left after the event. The good news was that it was steadily repairing itself but was much larger than before forcing it to take longer to refill itself.

The next day at breakfast he was handed a note for all champions to meet in the same room as the weighing of the wands for their first period to go over the next task and to talk about the using points in the tasks to come.

So just before eight o'clock, Harry stepped into the room to see all of the primary champions and the five judges.

Looking up, Bagman said, "Finally, we are all here." He didn't say it with any type of venom but with a bit more excitement than what would be normal.

"Yes, Yes, Bagman," said mister Thicknesse. "We can begin." He paused for a moment then began. "So, each of the team received points for each of their tasks. These point can be then traded in for allowances of other items within a specific task or to purchase a minor or major clue into an upcoming task. Five points can be spent for one non-magical item to be used in a single task. Ten point will allow someone to use a single magical item in a single task. Fifteen points can be used to receive a minor clue into an upcoming task and twenty-five point can be spent in order to get a major clue into a task ahead of time."

"Any questions?"

Cedric raised a hand.

"Yes, Mister Digory?" asked Thicknesse.

"Sir, as for an item or items used in a task. Is it limited to one item per team or one item per champion?"

"Good question," said Bagman. "It is limited to one item per champion per task. So, you cannot continue to use it during other tasks without spending more points each and every time you or one of your teammates will be using it."

Cedric nodded at that answer.

Harry raised his hand and asked, "Will we be able to keep the item enchanted?"

"Only if you had purchased the item and haven't had it supplied to you. This includes potion ingredients. Also, if you are to rely on your school's potion ingredients, part of the potion rights will be given over to their school as well."

Harry nodded. He actually like that idea although The Weasley twin did not.

"Anyone else?... No?" asked Bagman. "So, your next task will happen this coming weekend and will involve the whole team. The task will be, one, either enchanting an item or brewing potion. This enchanted item or potion will be allowed during the third task without the deduction of points. Which will be on the twenty-fourth of November."

"Remember," Bagman said. "You can use your points to purchase hints about the upcoming tasks."

"One more thing, whatever point your team has left by the start of the ninth and final task will be used to decide the order and lead time that each team has for that task. Any questions?"

There was no questions, and Harry understood, if nobody spent any points that team would be the first in whatever was the last task was, probably a maze. With that in mind Harry left the room and made his way to the library.

~HP-RWBY~

With the next task being less than a week away Harry was going to do as much research as he could into the Tri-Wizard Tournament is he and Hermione could. And he needed to find out what kind of tasks they would be seeing in the near future.

Harry arrived to see Hermione reading a large book called 'A History of the Tri-Wizard Tournament' as well as ten other stacked up around her. Harry could tell what books she had already went through so grabbed a book from the unread pile.

As he opened the book he explained about the points and other nuggets of information about the next two tasks.

Hermione in reply told him what the likely tasks were used for the three main tasks. The most used task for the Tri-Wizard Tournament was a fight between a dangerous creature something in the range of a 4X and 5X creatures. Dragon, Griffin, or Acromantulas.

The second task was often a rescue type task, one where the champion only needs to find something or someone and return it or them to the starting area.

The last one, just as Harry had thought, was more often than not a maze type challenge. With creatures to hinder the champions' progress. It would also be either a hedge maze or a cave tunnel with the cup sitting somewhere in the middle for the champion to find.

"So, we will just have to keep our eyes open for any newly arrival creatures, or people that would be hanging around Hogsmeade that could deal with special creatures. Despite that, there is a group of Acromantulas in the Forbidden Forest, I don't believe they would use them for something in the third task. No, I rather think that they would bring in creatures from an outside source, most likely, Dragons."

Hermione got up and left, a few minutes later, she returned with five more books all dealing with dragons.

Pulling one of the books off the stack they began to study dragons in the wizarding world. After thirty minutes, they knew everything about dragons and how to deal with each and every one of them.

That night, Storm was sent off with a letter and a good amount of gold to purchase the item Harry would be using for the second and third task.

~HP-RWBY~

Friday, the day before the second task the champions were meeting in the champions' room. They explained that they would be merely collecting an item from a dangerous magical creature for the third task. The champions are required to made something to get pass the creature and that they would be graded on quality, effectiveness, portability, uniqueness, and ease of use.

However, they did not say that the creature needed to be alive at the end of the task. So…

On Saturday, day of the second task, Harry and Hermione were looking up the rules for enchanting a muggle item. The rules were filled with many addendums and loopholes that one could basically ignore the law for the most part. So, when Remus Lupin walked into Hogwarts with a rather large plastic case with a certain item inside Harry's smile grew predatory.

"Did you have any trouble acquiring this, Remus," Harry asked.

Remus just gave Harry a look as if to say, 'What the F*** are you planning kid.'

Remus set the case down on the desk that will be used by Harry to work on his project. "I was going to pick up the M82A1 as you wanted, the salesman I spoke to have this upgraded unit instead in stock, otherwise he would have had to order the one you wanted."

Harry nodded again and opened the case. Harry studied the Barrett M107A1 anti-material rifle and all of the accessories, scope, bi-pod, silencer, and a twenty-nine-inch barrel. There were other items in the case including multiple shell clips each filled with ammo. Harry thoughts were as this, are you really going to put us against a dragon, well, I have your number right here.

Looking over the riffle in its broken-down state he wondered what he could do with it to make it more… everything.

As he pulled out one of the ten round clip with rounds, Harry was already thinking up ideas for the gun. Unlimited round magazine, fifty percent reduction in weight when the safety lock is engaged, an optional weight double when in firing mode to reduce recoil. Runes for shrinking and unshrinking of the rifle. Hardening Runes on the most worn parts, a silencing bubble charm on the QDL suppressor, a cushioning charm on the butt stock to reduce bruising, and then a super sensory charm on the laser scope when two mile is just not far enough. And with that Harry began to break down, clean, and begin enchanting his new toy.

As he worked, many of the judges stopped by to inspect what the teams were working on. Due to the secrecy between schools, each team were given their own room to work in. Unfortunately, every judge had sneered at the clear muggle item. Many of them had their eyes glazing over when Harry informing them about the gun.

Harry wasn't really surprised when he only received a mere eight points for his work, he didn't care. What he did care about was the Dragon hide and other ingredients he would be collecting after the third task.

~HP-RWBY~

November 24th was an overcast day, and the temperature was cooling, and they were heading for a fairly cold winter. The champions were escorted to a tent near the rocky hill tops on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forrest. Harry was escorted by Hermione down to the tent. She gave Harry a soft kiss on the cheek before leaving for a seat in the stands.

Upon everyone entering, they were grouped together to give the information about the third task.

"Well, now we're all here it time for everyone to be fill in!" said Bagman brightly. "When the audience has assembled, I'm going to be offering each of you this bag." He held up a small sack of purple silk and shook it at them. "… From which you will each select a small model of the thing you are about to face! There are different varieties you see. And your task is to collect the golden egg!"

There was no other instruction or limitations.

"The next thing to address is… are there anything, other than your enchanted item or potion, that you wish to claim for your use in this task?

Harry raised his hand and was pulled aside in order to tell the judges about the other magical item that he will be using during the task.

One by one, each of the primary champions were called out to tackle their dragon until only Harry remained. When he was called out Harry dawned his family's invisibility cloak. Upon stepping out, Harry sent up red sparks indicating his start to the task. He then activated his speed power and moved off to one side just as a gust of flame passed over where he just was.

Since he drew the Hungarian Horntail whose flame could shoot out forty feet. There really wasn't a place that the dragon couldn't hit him from its location. Pulling out the M107 and unshrinking it, Harry poked the barrel just outside of the cloak. Took aim and fired. Like a crack of thunder, the gun fired. The force of the shell knocked the dragon on to its side and less than ten seconds later it stopped moving.

Pulling the cloak off and placing his wand to his throat Harry cast a sonorous charm and said, "As the slayer of this dragon, and as it is not currently on a registered and acknowledged dragon reserve, I hereby claim the carcass as is my right as slayer of the beast." With that, Harry ended the spell, shrunk the rifle; pocketing it, and walked up and collected the golden egg as per the rules of this task. Turning around and headed for the exit of the arena, egg in hand.

And just for that, the Judges gave me a total of five points due to it was the minimal points that could be given for a task, the shits. They didn't want the dragons killed. 'Well, they could have said something.' The fact that Krum had all of his eggs smashed didn't reduce his score at all was telling.

~HP-RWBY~

With the first three tasks complete, life in the ancient castle returned to normal. Hermione and Harry continued their studies, and it was only a good thing that they continued to study ahead. Harry also hired Remus to get a rendering team to break down both the dragon carcass and the basilisk carcass. Then had him make the needed contacts for the selling of the remains. The hides was split into two piles, one for distribution to clothing manufactures, the other for private use or for sale later.

After two weeks, Flitwick announced to their house about the Yule Ball that will be held the night of the 24th of December. He also noted that it would be for only for those fourth years and above. Other arrangements would be setup for the lower years or those who weren't planning to attend.

Harry didn't hesitate and formally asked Hermione to the Yule Ball, which she accepted promptly.

Harry also studied the golden egg and found out what the clue hidden within the golden egg was all about.

Opening the egg, Harry heard the words, "Come seek us where our voices sound, we cannot sing above the ground… And while you're searching ponder this: We've taken what you'll sorely miss… An hour long you'll have to look, and to recover what we took… But past an hour, the prospect's black… Too late, it's gone, it won't come back."

Despite his ability to understand the sound and voice coming from the egg, repeated listening to it caused Harry to acquire a headache. Interesting enough, holding the egg underwater prevented this, in addition it made it easier for others to understand the language as well.

Hermione pointed out that by placing the egg underwater was, in fact, a clue into the sixth task and that there would be a time limit to complete the task.

If he had to, he would use his Crysis suit to perform the task as it did allow for use underwater. What they couldn't figure out was what would they take or… at least try and take into the lake.

~HP-RWBY~

The days that led up to the Yule Ball, despite the fact that many knew that Hermione and Harry were going to the ball together. Several older students continued to ask Hermione to the Yule ball, even directly in front of Harry while sitting at one of the tables in the library. The egocentric World champion seeker thought to ask her, despite being repeatedly turned down. The two were even asked to leave the library regardless that it wasn't them who was causing the trouble.

Thus, began Harry using the vast wealth in the trunk's dungeon to purchase books from all over Britain. With the use of Dobby, Harry began acquiring books both new and old from all the magical books stores and secondhand store nationwide, and he didn't restrict Dobby to Diagon Alley. No, Harry had Dobby go into Knockturn Alley and Carkitt Market looking for books of all kinds. Harry thought about redesigning the trunks library to hold more books.

Yule Ball was an eventful occasion, no pun intended. All of the champions gathered in the one of the classrooms on the second floor near the staircase to the great hall due to the entry hall being a meeting point for couples going to the ball together. Harry and Hermione arrived near to the time the champion were to be marched into the Great Hall and for the ball to begin.

The dinner was nice but a bit over the top for the house elves as their needed to plate everyone's meals by order of a menu sheet. Of course, this also simplified the meal into five dishes. Pork, Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Veggie, a soup, and/or salad.

Hermione ordered a chicken meal while Harry ordered a lamb. Both came with whipped potatoes and steamed vegetables; it was very good.

As the meal came to an end and Dumbledore asked for all to step away from the table, the house elves rearranged the seating. The round tables were moved to the corners of the room as did the chairs. The larger bench tables were gathered in the center of the longest wall and made for a makeshift band stage and a band stepped up to begin the opening dance…

Getting back to class after the Christmas holidays, the sixth-year charm students began learning size alteration magic like the shrinking and space expansion charms for objects like bags and trunks. The girls were each given a small purse and the guys received small box for practicing the expansion charm.

During transfiguration, students were introduced to Animagus and self-transfigurations.

~HP-RWBY~

The fourth task was set in a series of rooms that had one-way glass so the spectators could see in, but the champions could not see out or the other teams. Each room was designed with a series of charms and puzzles each team of champions needed to solve in order to escape and receive point for their champion.

Hermione looked on as all four teams tried to work out the room. The only exception to that rule was of course, one, Harry Potter.

Harry didn't have other team members to look for clues or help in solving riddles. Nevertheless, he was looking to be faster overall. Team Krum were next as they followed their Champion's barking orders quickly and efficiently.

Beauxbatons were also not far behind as each person worked on a puzzle and solved it before moving on together.

The one team that struggled was of course, Hogwarts. Despite Cedric's hopes for Fred Weasley and the Malfoy heir to work together. More often than not they argued. This led Digory to handle many of the tasks to himself.

Once the lead person began performing the tasks, he lost out on many of the clues that could help them escape the room.

Harry, being forced to do the room by himself was a challenge, the fact that Harry was that much more intelligent than the other groups put together, making the room child's play.

So, Harry was able to escape the room in forty-four minutes out of one hour. Beauxbatons managed to escape next at fifty-two minutes. Durmstrang came out two minutes after while Hogwarts failed to get out within the hours' time.

The judges gave Harry full marks of fifty points due to him leaving first and the fact that they couldn't deduct point in this task.

Fleur's team received forty points for second place.

Krum received thirty point for completing the task third.

Hogwarts only managed ten points due to them not completing the task within the time limit, but still competing in the task.

This change didn't do much of the order of winners by much, but Harry was able to just pass Hogwarts for third place in the running.

~HP-RWBY~

The following week, the champions were in their individual rooms they used for the second task. However, there were now three caldrons placed in each room. The task required each champion to brew a potion from the list on the wall. Scores would be evaluated by three Potion Masters and scored accordingly. This task would take two days to complete so stasis charms would be used when nobody was there to monitor the potion.

Harry had a bad feeling that despite everything in the Tournament, Harry would be scored by Snape.

Harry decided to brew one OWL potion; the Invigoration Draught, a NEWT potion; Veritaserum, and one Master Potion; Essence of Dittany from the list. He sent Dobby to gather what he didn't have in stock to begin brewing. Since Veritaserum would take the longest he started with that one, then moved on to Essence of Dittany, followed by the Invigoration Draught which took less than an hour.

Harry prediction of Snape's scoring was correct. However, there were two others, one from Saint Mungo's and one from the DMLE to also examine for quality. When the Veritaserum was deemed better than the one used by the DMLE, Harry offered to use it on Snape for a true scoring of all the potions. The two from Saint Mungo's and DMLE liked that idea but unfortunately between Snape refusal and Dumbledore, Karkaroff, and Bagman agreeing not to use it for verification. Something about a champion using it to alter the score of the judges.

Despite brewing perfect potions, Harry received only twenty-five points. Durmstrang and Hogwarts received forty-three and forty-six points respectfully. Beauxbatons managed third place with thirty-eight. Despite not wanting to win in this tournament, Harry hated being cheated out of well-earned points.

Throughout the year, Harry trained Hermione in the training and exercise room within Harry's trunk, he had noticed that Hermione's eyes would begin to glow more golden during portions of their heavier training sessions. So, one day, on a hunch, he activated his enhanced speed and slowly increase his reflex and attacking speed.

His theory was proven true as Hermione began to increase her speed as well. Also, she began to push Harry back, and for the first time in their training, Harry was on the defensive and he grinned.

With a signal, he called a halt to the match. Breathing a bit more than usual he noticed Hermione doing the same.

"So," Harry began tentatively. "You now used the semblance that I have." Trying to not sound like it was a something bad or anything but looking for what Hermione thought about it.

She nodded, "During the fight, I could feel you getting faster. And I… I sort of… willed myself to… copy? To copy your movement, somehow, and then I had this feeling… right here, and here." She pointed first towards her heart and then her forehead '… and I could move faster."

Harry nodded; it was similar to what he felt when he activated one of his own abilities.

"Do you want to try for another one?" Harry asked.

Hermione thought about it for a long half a second and nodded with enthusiasm before saying, "Yes!"

They tried multiple abilities of Harry's Semblances and found she could only copy the ones that physically change him or were noticeable to her eyes. Hermione managed to copy his Organic Metal Skin; when he changed into that form going from five-foot seven inch, one hundred- and thirty-five-pound boy to a four-hundred-pound, sixteen-foot metal giant. It was a good thing the ceiling was about twenty-four feet high.

She received Flight when he levitated off the floor for five minutes. However, Hermione didn't feel comfortable using the power due to her fear of heights, and Regeneration Healing after Harry cut his forearm with a knife and watched as the cut disappeared without a scar. She somehow already had taken the Fighting Instinct while taking his Enhanced Speed during their duel. She wasn't able to copy teleportation due to it being so fast or because she was missing whatever happened between the two points. They would just do the research for the magical version of teleportation, Apparition, and learn that.

With all that out of the way, they headed for bed. In two days, Harry would be completing the sixth task, the Rescue from the Black Lake.

~HP-RWBY~

The next night, Hermione was pulled from their study session with the others in the library by Professor Flitwick and McGonagall.

Neville turned to Harry and asked, "Is this about the task tomorrow?"

"Yeah, Nev," Harry replied as Susan, Hannah, and Padma listened in to the conversation. "Each of the primary champions are required to search the black lake and rescue what they would miss the most.

"So… Hermione is what you'd miss the most?" Hannah asked.

Harry thought about it for a moment, 'Would I miss her the most if she were gone from my life.' Sure, if she weren't here, would Harry most likely leave as well. They had nearly completed their studies up through NEWT's and would have no problem taking their exam over the break if it meant not returning to school the next September. The next question was, 'Would I miss her more than my own life? And what would that mean in their relationship?'

No one stopped or interrupted Harry as a sad expression appeared on his face, nor did they stop him as he gathered up his stuff and headed out the door.

Susan and Hannah just shook their heads at Harry.

"What is it, Hannah?" Neville asked.

Hannah turned to the Gryffindor. "Neville, I don't think Harry had ever asked himself if he loved Hermione or if it was just them being friends before."

Susan then pointed out to the clueless boy, "Think about it, Neville. You saw how Harry reacted during that time when she was petrified in the hospital. Now imagine Hermione not here… anymore. He loves her and it is only now that he realizes it."

Neville turned towards the door, not seeing Harry anymore. The loss of Hermione in Harry's world would be devastating to his best friend and hoped that nothing would separate them.

Little did he know that the two Hufflepuffs were eyeing the boy in a similar manor as Harry did for Hermione.

~HP-RWBY~

Harry still wasn't feeling right when he made his way down to the Black Lake for the task.

Still, he had the Gilliweed Dobby had purchased for him from a certified vender in Diagon Alley and would be sufficient for the time period of the task. Going with Gilliweed over using a Bubblehead charm or a Runic item for defusing air from water was the alteration of his hand and feet into webbed fingers and fins on his feet. Another benefit was the regulation on his body temperature. As the idiots who designed the task had scheduled it to happen in the middle of February, probably the coldest time of the year at Hogwarts, means Harry won't be spending his energy on Warming charms in addition to a Bubblehead charm.

Harry stood on a platform in the middle of the Black Lake waiting for the task to start wearing a five-millimeter diving suit Remus picked up in London. Due to the Muggle nature of the item and that there was no charms or Runes placed on the item, meant Harry only had to spent fifteen points for this task, five for the suit and ten for the Gilliweed.

He looked around and notice Cedric and Krum looked as if they were going to toughen through the task as they both wore a pair of tank tops in their school's colors and a pair of trunks. Fleur on the other hand was in a nicely charmed one-piece silver bathing suit that looked rather fetching on the Veela.

Dumbledore started with his announcement and anticipating Filch's screwups, Harry eat the Gilliweed and waited for the change to begin.

"Well, all our champions are ready for the second task, which will start on my whistle. They have precisely an hour to recover what has been taken from them. On the count of three, then.

BOOM!

Everyone in the crowed was startled. Harry on the other hand was already heading for the water, most of the changes complete.

He didn't wait and do some stupid trick or anything. He bolted to the Merfolk Village deep within the Black Lake, he and Hermione found on a map in the library.

He also avoided the Kelp bed as there would be most likely Grindylows in them. To speed up his ridiculous pace, Harry pointed his wand behind him and casted a point-cast Aguamenti charm. And Harry rocket forward even faster.

Harry made it to the village in less than fifteen minutes and a quick severing charm to the rope holding Hermione and she was free. With another severing charm he used the rope to tie Hermione to himself. Pointed his wand behind him and casting another Aguamenti charm, they began their return to the starting point.

As he was passing Fleur, he notice she was having some trouble with some Grindylows. Thankfully, Fleur still had the Bubblehead charm, so he sent out a pressure exploding charm that caused the Grindylows to go still with blood flowing from their eyes and mouth.

Harry gave a dueling salute to the French champion and continued his path after receiving one in return.

Fleur heading off in the direction Harry had just come from.

They returned with the fastest time of twenty-eight minutes and forty-two seconds.

~HP-RWBY~

Dumbledore stood and placed his wand to his throat like before the task and cast, "Sonorus!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached our decision. Merchieftainess Murcus has told us exactly what happened at the bottom of the lake, and we have therefore decided to award marks out of fifty for each of the champions, as follows…

"Harry Potter used Gilliweed to great effect," Dumbledore continued. "He returned first, and well inside the time limit of an hour. We therefore award him the full score of fifty points."

"Cedric Diggory, who also used the Bubble-Head Charm, was second to return with his hostage, and with eight minutes to spare of the remaining time limit." Enormous cheers from the Hufflepuffs in the crowd; Harry saw Cho give Cedric a glowing look. "We therefore award him forty-seven points."

"Fleur Delacour, though she demonstrated excellent use of the Bubble-Head Charm, was attacked by Grindylows but was able to get past them. She return third after retrieving her hostage. We award her forty-two points."

"Viktor Krum used an incomplete form of Transfiguration, which was nevertheless effective, and was last to return with his hostage, five minutes outside the time limit of an hour. However, do to injuring his hostage, we awarded him only twenty points." The hostage was healed after being given a blood replenishing potion and pain potion so she could sleep as the school's healer worked to save the leg.

Beauxbatons students were feeling a lot better the following month due to their new placement within the tournament.

For the first time in this year's tournament, Durmstrang was not in first place, Beauxbatons was. Harry was still in last place but wasn't too concerned as he really didn't want to finish first but figured he could make up for it in the last two tasks if not the very last one as it was usually a maze and Harry had a plan to beat the maze in no time at all.

Harry was happy for Fleur and her team. They had worked hard and stayed in the fight. Unfortunately, it didn't last.

~HP-RWBY~

The seventh task was a simple one. A twenty-lap race through an obstacle course of gold rings around the grounds of Hogwarts, the Black Lake, and the Forbidden Forrest with a new broom stick by Nimbus, the 'Javelin!', the latest in racing brooms. The broom went from zero to two hundred and twenty-five kilometers per hour in less than fifteen seconds and topped off around three hundred kilometers. All of the ten champions were required to participate in the race. This allowed each school to utilize team strategies in the race, often blocking competitors while allowing team mates to move ahead. Once the race was over, Nimbus gifted the top three champions with the very broom they rode in the task. A prize worth a thousand galleons.

Harry was able to take third place in the last turn due to one of the Durmstrang champions, Poliakoff, attempt at blocking him failed and he wiped out because of it.

Krum and Dimitriova took first and second most due to their ruthless strategy and returned to their first-place standings.

Beauxbatons wasn't much of a challenge as quidditch was not a large part of their school other than a few teams. All of their champions only took the basic course and only flew for leisure. This dropped them from first place to third place going into the eighth task.

Hogwarts were better; Cedric and Fred flew much better and kept pace with Harry throughout the race. Draco managed to stay in the race till the end but was horribly behind often getting in the way of Durmstrang whenever they lapped him. Due to Poliakoff wipeout, Cedric took fourth and Fred took fifth. Poliakoff recovered fast enough to take sixth followed by the rest of the Beauxbatons team and Draco. Points were awarded, however, with Harry still a one-person team he still almost received less point for his team than every other team combined bar Beauxbatons who finish last in the race.

~HP-RWBY~

The eighth task was held on April twenty-fourth. The champions all met in the gathering room where the judges and champions were to discuss what the next task was. In the room, looked to be a muggle style kitchen, with a refrigerator almost a decade or two old, as was the stove and sink. There was also a large box off to one side that had the word 'IKEA' written on it. Returning his attention back to the gathering, Harry noticed Professor Charity Burbage was among the judges for the meeting just behind Dumbledore.

"As with all thing we sometimes need to make our way through muggle society. Therefore, for your eighth task, each team must assemble what is in that box over there," Bagman pointed to the box with the word "IKEA" written on it, "and to make a meal for each of the judges and your fellow teammates without the use of magic. Each of your rooms will be supplied with everything in this room."

Bagman stepped back and Thicknesse stepped forward. "You will be scored for speed, both on the object assemble and the meal separately. The quality of the work in both the assemble and the food. Points will be deducted if magic is used."

Dumbledore that spoke up, "Each team will have a single Hogwarts house elf to acquire any of the ingredients you need for the meal. They are also ordered to 'not' cook any part of the meal. This task must be completed prior to mealtime tonight. That gives you seven hours to complete this task."

"You may begin."

Everyone rushed from the room to their champion's room in order to get started. Harry went over in his mind what he could make in the time limit. Once he was in his room, he inventoried everything. Before long Harry was beginning by ordering the different foods, he would need to make a great meal. Too be honest, there was almost too much time given for this challenge.

By the end of the task, most of the food was keeping warm in the oven and the six-seat table and chairs were easy to assemble and was thoroughly tested. In the last half hour, the elf brought in plate and silverware for eating and the final item cooking was an apple pie for dessert. The ten pounds of barbeque ribs were nicely coated with sauce, the mixed red and yellow potatoes were whipped with a little bit of bacon and garlic mixed in. The corn was husked, and then steam cooked.

And for all the seven hours of trouble and no food remaining, he received thirty-six points for his task.

~HP-RWBY~

In the first week of May, Hermione came rushing into Harry's trunk as he was going over some of his seventh year 'Runes, Wards, and Enchantment' book screaming, "I cracked it!"

Harry's total focus was redirected to his girlfriend and asked, "What have you cracked?"

Hermione grin grew wider and replied, "I cracked the charm that prevented spell books to be copied." This was why people were forced to purchase books at a retailer like Flourish and Blotts. The publishers would cast charms on the book so they could maintain the income of books they sold. However, Harry felt that older books no longer in print should be allowed to be copied anyways but couldn't.

Hermione went on, "The spell is imperfect. As it can't create a new book from thin air and any transfigured book will revert and loose what is written in it. But if you use a blank book and use the spell, it copies all the writings into the new book." She pushed forward a leather book about an inch and a half thick. Opening the book, showed one of the books from the restriction section of Hogwarts library about Arithmancy was perfectly copied into the new book. An idea came to him and just as he was to address it, Hermione did.

"I want to copy the school's library… all of it!" she pleaded.

Knowing that this would take time, money, and planning. He offer to get in touch with Remus to begin acquiring the tens of thousands of blank books needed in order to copy the complete library. It was something both of them wanted as he didn't know if there were anything of a Potter's library held within the Potter vault. He would ask Sirius if they could get access to the library over the summer if it was in the family vault.

By that weekend, Harry and Hermione began receiving charmed bags with over a hundred books every other day so they could begin copying the library. The empty bags were returned with a thousand galleons to purchase even more blank books. They also didn't need to remove any books from the shelves in order to copy the book. If they could see the book and place the tip of their wand on the book, they could copy the book. They used those bags to walk into the restriction section and copy each of the books in turn.

Once done, they returned to Harry's library and organized them into the proper location using the Dewey Decimal System and organized it by magical subjects. They were using the standard system for all of their non-magical subjects they already had, only in a different shelving on the lower area of the library.

Unfortunately, this took away from their studying time, despite working on their seventh-year curriculum already. They would just have to take their NEWT's in late August instead of at the end of the year.

~HP-RWBY~

By the time for the ninth task came around, the two had copied almost ninety percent of the school's library and had purchased more shelves for a second and third inner row of shelves around the library and were forced to modify the library by expanding the room vertically with two additional walkways that when around the outer wall of the library.

Harry's vault had also taken a good-sized dent but knew that he would be getting it refilled when they returned to London as he was going to empty everything from the Potter vaults. They would complete the copying of the library by the end of the school year.

On May 27th Bagman had gathered all of the champions on what was used to be the Hogwarts Quidditch grounds to go over the final task. From the consignment of all the champions, the ninth and final task was to be a maze made out of hedges with various magical creatures hidden inside in order to hinder the champions from getting to the Tri-wizard Cup hidden near the center of the maze.

Harry would be the last to enter and if he thought only in two dimensional it would be a problem as he would be forced to make his way through the maze and obstacles. But Harry thought in multiple dimensions. Port-keys wasn't an option as nobody outside of the headmaster could create one that worked on Hogwarts grounds or more specifically the Wards.

But if you thought in three dimensional, someone could fly over the maze. However, Harry wasn't going to point out that flaw in the plan.

The morning of the third task wasn't very exciting. Families of the champions were allowed to visit and walk the grounds. Harry had no one as the Grangers were muggles and Sirius was still wanted. Remus would be keeping the three company during the day and only coming to the event tonight and reporting back to them what had happened afterwards.

Most of the day for Harry was spent meditating in his trunk, going over this year's information. A few letters were written out for multiple possible ending to the ninth and final task. If he did not survive, however unlikely due to his semblance, it documented his life and what to do with his things. Basically, Hermione received everything with a few things going to his friends.

The second letter was to Madam Bones. This was a two-part letter, the first was the unjust imprisonment of Sirius Black and the actions of the Minister in declining his claims of being innocent and the fact that they had captured Peter Pettigrew only for him to escape due to Snape's actions that night, possible at the direction of Dumbledore.

The second part of the letter was his request for emancipation due to being forced into a tournament as a primary champion, who by all right should be an of-age witch or wizard. This would allow him to gain full access to the Potter vault. He wanted full control of the content of that vault due to the mutterings he heard for the Goblins in their own language about it. They desperately wanted their gold back were they could handle it better. Despite not informing them that he could understand them, Harry wanted to remove all Potter vaults from the goblins.

Using a book Hermione found written by Rowena Ravenclaw, Harry and Hermione was able to adjust the ward scheme for all of the rooms. Adjusting both area and height allowing for more shelves within the library. They also made the workout room able to adjust in size as required for their combat matches that required a much larger room. The dungeon was split up into several smaller rooms in order to separate the different forms of money and rear equipment. Then each of the room was enlarged to three times the original of the vault.

~HP-RWBY~

Despite the massive deduction from the other champions to allow them to take multiple magical items into the maze with them, Harry spending only the ten points for his CRYSIS suit to be allowed, he was still at a disadvantage although not by much from last place. Durmstrang would be the first to enter the maze.

Fifteen minutes later Fleur and her group entered and seven minutes after that, Diggory and the Hogwarts team entered the maze.

Harry waited to enter the maze for another twenty-two minutes. The task was estimated to only take an hour to complete and despite the very late entry, Harry had a plan for beating the maze. Once the cannon blast was heard Harry raced into the maze. Harry quickly activated the cloaking option of his suit and in seconds the only thing that was seen was a slight rippling in the air at Harry's presence. With the cloak active, Harry activated his own power of flight and rose up and out of the corridors of the maze. No rule or barrier prevented him from doing this.

In the darkness, Harry saw spell fire all over the maze. However, a lot of the spell fire was coming from the center of the maze already. Either the champions were incredible lucky, or they already knew their way through and were now fighting over who was the one to take the cup. The cup was placed within a large opening with a square hedges surrounding the area.

Floating over the area he noticed something odd. Malfoy was standing next to the cup and the Durmstrang group had created stone barriers and were protecting the git. Multiple questions were asked at the time. Why doesn't Malfoy take the cup? Who were they fighting? What are their plan?

Looking over the rest of the maze, Harry determined that two of the Beauxbatons champions were dealing with a few of the creatures of the maze.

Cedric was down, either dead or unconscious, and Fleur and Fred were pinned down from the combined spell fire from the spell casting of Durmstrang's team.

Snapping out his wand for the first time, Harry pointed at the Durmstrang champions and cast his most powerful blasting curse at the barrier the champions had created and then dove for the cup.

The spell hit the barrier and tossed everyone away. Just as Harry reached for the cup Malfoy turned and was there too, gripping the other handle, they both vanished with the activation of a port-key.

~HP-RWBY~

During Harry's ride with the port-key with Malfoy hanging on, he noticed two things about the port-key.

First, it was taking them too long for what it would take to go from the center of the maze to the judge's platform if that was the original destination. The other was the smirk gradually appearing on the albino git face and the reason for him to not take the pork-key until Harry was about to take it, only wait made more sense. It's… a… bloody… TRAP!

Port-key when activated, pulls the rider or riders up and out of the location to the destination where it was programed to go as the charm was cast. The Port-Key also allows for a safe journey from start to finish by adhering the travelers to the key, preventing the riders from falling off until a safe distance and speed are met. If the port-key should fail at any point in the journey, the riders would simply fall back to the ground at the speed of the traveling port-key which would cause broken bone, missing limbs, or even death upon impact with the ground.

Unlike apparition, a port-key can't be altered during the course with the exception of…

Pulling out his wand from a concealed area, Harry pointed his wand at the cup and with a smile on his face, Harry casted another blasting curse at the cup. A crack formed on the cup, the port-key failed, and Harry was able to let go of the device.

The smirk smile on Malfoy vanished and turned into utter horror as he too figured out what was about to happen.

Due to the spinning of the port-key, Draco was launched further along the path of traveling port-key but slightly off course. As Draco began to fall back to earth, he tried to cast the killing curse at Harry. Harry, being on the opposite side, was slowed down, opening his arms and legs to increase drag and rapidly slow even further, the curse missed. Harry then crashed through the roof, ceiling, and floor of a decrepit cottage. Thankfully, the suit took most of the kinetic damage, turning it into energy that reinforced the durability of the suit.

Draco struck an older manor home near a graveyard; unfortunately, he did not have a CRYSIS suit, nor did he know how to cushion his fall or teleport. The force of his impact caused his body to be pulverized and the accidental magic released from the impact blew all the walls out from the home sending shrapnel out, killing a large snake the owner was keeping within the residence.

Harry opened his eyes as the pain from crashing slowly receded. The dingy cottage that used to contain three tiny rooms, was now a massive impact site. The main room, which also served as kitchen and living room combination was a disaster. Harry wasn't going to figure the odds that getting to his feet he found a crushed jewelry box with a single silver ring with an Onyx gem in the center of it. Just then Harry felt a compulsion to dawn the ring and all of his worries would fade away. Then the information about the ring came to him as something Tom Riddle claimed when he visited his mother's relations. The ring was another Horcrux of Riddle's, created in his seventh year during the time that he killed all of his muggle relations, the Riddle family. It was the second and last one before he left school. He didn't want to separate his soul too many times as he feared losing his mind to the items.

Caught off guard, Harry had already picked up the ring and had placed it over his left glove before coming back from the memory. Once it was on his hand, the pain struck Harry as though he stepped into a roaring bonfire. Harry's regeneration quickly activated in order to siphon the power of the withering curse that was placed on the ring. Harry's mind returned to him, and he activated his power to begin absorbing and drain the object of its power and knowledge. Once everything was complete, the ring flashed three times. With the second flash, his cloak and with the last Dumbledore's wand appeared in his right hand. His phoenix wand had vanished at the same time. After a moment, each item grumbled to dust and disappeared.

Time passed as Harry stood there as the knowledge of rituals and spells passed before his mind. More knowledge than either Dumbledore, Riddle, or a hundred others could have learned in a lifetime. He also felt a push to take care of the last fragment of Tom's soul. After a moment, Harry vanished with a puff of air and a swirl of dust.

~HP-RWBY~

Harry appeared in a Graveyard in the middle of a group of thirty panicking and screaming cloaked figures with white masks. He saw several men were halfway to a burning manor home on the top of a hill, while the rest remained near… Wormtail.

Turning to the betrayer, Harry noticed the small bundle he was holding in his arms. "Tom?" Harry called out, attracting everyone's attention.

"Harry… Potter," the small being rasped out. "Thank you for attending my resurrection ceremony."

Harry sneered behind his mask. "Flight from Death. Death is the release of pain. Death is a gift, for those who have cherish life… and a torment unending for those who have cheated or stole it."

"What do you know about death, Harry Potter?" asked Voldemort. "You have never taken a life nor have been taken by Death."

"You think your killing curse did not kill me, Tom Riddle?" asked Harry. "No, Tom, I did not escape Death that night. I know that now, for I have died as many times as you have."

The Death Eaters were all took a step back from Potter as well as the homunculus form of Voldemort.

"But to go as far as making Soul Jars to escape her gift? Your soul will never reform from such a thing. For every reincarnation you will always long for something that will never be."

"So? I have become immortal… and will never die!"

"Nothing is immortal, not even the stars above," Harry said calmly. "And you have no more anchors Tom Riddle," Harry explained to the surprise of everyone in the graveyard. "Your Diary, your first Horcrux, given to Lucius Malfoy was destroyed in my second year due to his plotting and scheming against the Weasley clan. Its knowledge and power are now mine. And not fifteen minutes ago, I destroyed and absorbed our ancestors ring, the Peverell Ring. I am the last of the Peverell line and as such I claim the magic of the Peverell line."

"The Wand," a wand appeared in his hand before dissolving into golden dust. "Stolen from Antioch and traced through history by conquest." Harry explained.

"The Ring," raising his left hand to show the ring and stone together, "passed down through Cadmus' descendant line. Only to be altered by the bastard of the line in order to make a mockery of what the ring stood for." Harry contempt for Voldemort was clearly visible.

"And the last of Death's Hallows… the 'Cloak,' passed down from Ignotus Peverell to his son, from father to son." The true cloak of invisibility appeared on Harry's shoulders before fading away.

"The Master of Death," Harry summarized. And a chill was felt going down everybody's spine.

"Fate and Destiny are not to be trifled with. Nor is Phanes and Death," Harry commented.

Silence reigned until Lucius returned. A mixture of emotions raging within him. Loss, Fear, Pain, and Hatred. All of it directed at Harry Potter. So when the first spell was cast, it came from Lucius' wand.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Harry turned, spinning out of the way of the killing curse, allowing the curse to strike another follower. There was no sound of surprise as the curse hit, only the body falling as if the man's life strings have been cut.

'Death Eaters had such poor reaction times.'

Harry had no weapons other than his wand and his suit. Shunting twenty-five percent of his magical power into the suit, effectively doubling the strength, durability, and speed of the suit. This was demonstrated by a death eater casting "Sectum-Sempra" on him. The curse, as powerful as it was, left a slight scratch across the chest plate of the CRYSIS suit. The man didn't get a chance to cast anything else as Harry slugged the man in the face mask. The bone in his skull pulped, and the jaw dislodged slightly and was now protruding from the face.

Immediately, multiple wands were casting a variety of spells, some piercing, some cutting, only one or two were either Killing Curses or Binding Curses.

Harry didn't pay much attention as he was moving on to the next death eater, while staying to the outskirts of the group. Harry wanted to capture Wormtail alive in order for him to stand trial and free Sirius of his charges.

The Elder wand appeared in his hand and an exploding curse exited the tip. Bone, Blood, and flesh blossomed out from the rear of the next Death Eater's body. Harry didn't care, he was already on to the next Death Eater. He had remembered the stories from Susan and others about the attack during the Quidditch World Cup and from those of the last war. The fact that all of these people managed to escape prison without punishment with potions like Veritaserum and the reading of minds, was appalling. The fact that many who escape punishment after the first war by pleading the Imperious despite the Truth Potion only meant that nobody would be punished, again. There would be no leniency tonight, not for this group.

Harry got through five before the other followers of Voldemort switched over to using the killing curse. He dodged two curses before getting clipped by the third and he rolled to the ground.

The Death Eaters believing him down rushed to get access to his blood for the resurrection ritual for their master. As they neared, Harry struck out at their legs; bones shattered, joints popped, and muscles shredded. With that attack, many broke ranks and ran for the edges of the Anti-Disapparition Jinx to escape the carnage. Only ten were able to get away in time as Harry was now firing bone shattering curses at their spines. The ones that fell died a few minutes later.

Turning around he saw Wormtail and baby-mort grab something and disappear. With everyone left dead or soon-to-be, Harry raced over and began using diagnostic charms and Arithmancy to detect where the destination of that port-key. In less than a minute, Harry felt the Anti-Disapparition Jinx drop as the caster had disappeared or had died. In the next minute, he had the location of the destination. With the coordinates in mind and the Anti-Disapparition Jinx no longer in effect, Harry teleported to the location. The feeling of a strong Anti-Apparition ward in place he was redirected to the atrium inside the Ministry of Magic.

~HP-RWBY~

With teleportation being faster than port-key, Harry was able to catch a glance of Wormtail and his bundle entering one of the lifts at the far end of the atrium.

Looking around he found no one else in the area, 'shouldn't there be someone here, a ministry official, a night guard, or an Auror?' Harry thought.

Moving with caution, he headed for the lifts. Above the lift Pettigrew went in showed that the lift had stopped at level nine, the lowest level of the ministry.

Getting into a lift he pressed button labeled with a '9' on it. Thinking quickly and moving just as fast as he could and set the other six lifts for the same location before getting into the fourth one just as the doors was about to close. Switching the charge in his suit from combat to the stealth feature he nearly disappeared from view. Summoned his cloak for good measure made sure he was undetectable.

Harry heard two explosions from below and he figured Peter was blasting the elevators when they opened.

"Department of Mysteries," said a cool female voice, and left it at that.

He waited for the spell for a minute and peeked out of the space, there was nothing, just a long black passageway.

Moving out of the elevator, Harry proceeded down the hallway to a single door at the end. Carefully, Harry listened and slowly opened the door to find nothing.

Stepping into the next room he found himself standing in a large, circular room. There was nobody here. Everything in the room was black including the floor and ceiling… identical, unmarked, handle-less black doors were set at intervals all around the black walls, interspersed with branches of candles whose flames burned blue, their cool, shimmering light reflected in the shining marble floor so that it looked as though there was dark water underfoot.

Once the door closed, Harry felt a bit of nausea as it felt as though he was moving without moving. There was a great rumbling noise, and the candles began to move sideways as the circular wall seemed to be rotating.

Harry stepped to the right and opened the first door. Looked in, he saw could very well be the most impressive display of planets within the solar system. He would have loved to take a closer look at this, but he had a traitor to catch and a dark lord to eliminate.

In the next room he found a room dedicated to everything have to do with time. Stepping into the room he found a shelf full of the same time turners they had used last year. Picking up two turners, he quickly pocketed them. If they were going to be so relaxed in their security to leave the door open for anyone to grab them then he would, besides, he didn't have that much time, no pun intended, to study them.

The next room had rows upon rows to glass balls. Some glowing with internal lighting, some were dark as if the light within had gone out at some point. All had a fair amount of dust on them all as though they had sat there for a long time.

At the end of the room Pettigrew stood with Riddle sill in his arms.

"Magic…" Voldemort said, raspy. "It's a wondrous thing."

"It is," Harry replied coolly. "It is also a… terrifying thing as well."

"And what do know about magic at such an age, Harry Potter?"

"Age? Tom Marvolo Riddle?" Harry replied. "I have seen through your souls and breathed in the power and knowledge. You, Flight from Death," Harry said with almost a sneer. "Might have gone further down the path of immortality, but I have drank from its nectar. Besides, it is not knowledge that you should be worried about but, Time."

Harry's mind raced with an idea and slowly Harry reached down and touched a recently carved Rune and the area around Voldemort and Pettigrew flashed so brightly everyone was blinded for a moment. But when sight returned to all of them, Pettigrew was knocked out and the Homunculus that was Voldemort was suspended in midair and in great pain as the magic was slowly ripped from the body and those who it was connected too. All the magical power was pulled from the body and channeled deep within the ministry to the ancient ward stone of the ministry.

Those who were still alive that had taken his mark had also found themselves unable to think of anything as their magic was being ripped from their body as Riddle had used the dark mark to enhance his owns power.

Harry looked at everything and knew what he had to do to prevent creating a paradox. However, because he knew how to create it and that it would work, Harry pulled the Time turner out and turned it six times. That would be plenty of time to set everything up.

As Harry spun the final turn, he looked up and saw Harry bending over and picking up Pettigrew, just before time began to race backwards. As time turned backwards, Harry watched the many people who had entered and left the room. He also detected the lines of Runes was marked begin to slowly erase themselves from the floor, including the one next to him. Between the cloak and the suit, He would be prevented from being detected.

In the present, Harry picked up Pettigrew and looked eyes with his past self just before he disappeared. Turning his attention to Voldemort, the body was slowly and painfully, being turned to ash as all of the power he had access to went to feed the ancient wards here within the Department of Mysteries until there was nothing left.

Breathing a sigh of relief that it was over, Harry placed and notice-me-not on Pettigrew and walked out of the ministry.

As soon as they made it to the Atrium, Harry Teleported back to the gates of Hogwarts.

~HP-RWBY~

The explanations of the Cup, Peter, and what happened at the graveyard was tiresome. Pettigrew was locked in another room for the time being.

Meanwhile, a group that was being held within Dumbledore office. The ministry of Magic, Cornelius Fudge. The head of the DMLE, Amelia Bones and the head of the Hit wizards, Rufus Scrimgeor. Harry noted that Dumbledore seemed to have an expression of worry on his face.

Harry explained the final happenings within the maze to set the start of the tale. Explained what Malfoy had commented and that he was forced to destroying the cup to prevent the killing curse from hitting him and this is what led to Draco's death. He explained that he landed near the spot of the ritual that would try and return Voldemort to life. At which point Fudge start to cry lies and pointing the finger at Harry for making things up for more publicity and then at Dumbledore for wanting his position as Minister by disgracing Lucius Malfoy and several other falsely accused Death Eaters that have supported him.

Despite Dumbledore reassurances about not wanting that position and Bones counterarguments about Pettigrew and those accused Death Eaters not given testament under Veritaserum serum given no proof of their innocence, Fudge stormed out of the room.

Five minutes later as a heated argument between Dumbledore and Bones about Pettigrew and Black that Professor McGonagall, who was assigned to watching the door of Peter came rushing into the Office. Dumbledore turned and snapped and his deputy Headmistress, "I told you to stand guard at Peter's room in order to prevent his escape!" As a cat Animagus, she was better than most to guard a rat Animagus.

"There is no need to stand guard over him anymore, Dumbledore!" she shrieked. "The Minister and Dolores Umbridge has seen to that!"

Harry had never seen Professor McGonagall lose control like this. There were angry blotches of color in her cheeks, and her hands were balled into fists; she was trembling with fury.

Harry also had a sinking feeling about what was next said.

"The Minister and his undersecretary brought two Dementors and… and… and had him kissed!"

"By all accounts, he is no loss," commented Scrimgeor. Harry balled up his fist with anger at the simpleton.

"But he can no longer give testimony, you idiot!" Bones snapped.

Dumbledore was staring hard at Scrimgeour but looked a bit relieved at the situation.

"What do we do now with my Godfather and his freedom?" asked Harry holding back his own anger.

Bones sighed in resignation, "With Pettigrew unable to admit to being the secret keeper for the Potters and Black still having a kiss on sight order from Mister Fudge, there is nothing that can be done."

"And will the Minister be punished for effectively killing a captured prisoner?" Harry replied calmly. His anger turning towards cold calculating vengeance.

Amelia pinched her nose and let out another sigh, but it was Scrimgeor who answered, "Fudge will declare that due to Black's record he is still guilty and continue the status quo."

Harry turned to Dumbledore about to say something, then turned to Amelia and Scrimgeor, looked at them before just turning and leaving the office. "Fine." That one word had Dumbledore secure the door in order to prevent Harry from leaving.

It failed to stop Harry as he simply raised the elder wand and blasted the door and wall from existence.

There was nothing for him here anymore. The Magical world had refused to change their ways and correct their deficiencies. Voldemort was taken care of even if… he had anymore soul jars. The Runic circle would have depowered them. He and Hermione would take their NEWT's over the summer break and then leave Britain forever. Possible heading for the Black Island where Sirius had been wanting to go for some time now. The Grangers would take a vacation to the island as well.

But before he would leave the country forever and with the letter from Madam Bones, he would visit Gringotts one last time and complete the emptying of the Potter vaults… and possible the Blacks as well.

~End of Year Four~

Author's Note: I must say this chapter was an amazingly difficult to write and I apologize for the extreme delay with my other story. I will refocus on that story for a few chapters before returning to this one. The next chapter in this story we will see the two move from Earth to Remnant. I'm not sure at what point in the story that I want the two will enter Remnant. Most stories have them come in at S01E01 or before the show. I do know that I want it to be before the downfall of Beacon.

Author's Notes 2 - Special thanks to Crusading Aquila and Scooby Sharky for the ideas on the many different tasks. The IKEA build was turned into a Muggle Studies task.
