Chapter Forty Eight:

Much like their respective parents, Blake Ouroboros and Rouge (who didn't have a last name, but was trying to come up with a good one) truly showcased that they were each other's opposites and that they got along despite that. While Blake was usually calm, slow to anger and occasionally something of a deadpan snarker, Rouge was energetic, somewhat short-tempered and loud. Another thing that made it clear that the two Demi-Dragon Goddesses were opposites was their masteries of their transformations.

Blake had trouble assuming her complete draconic form while Rouge couldn't properly achieve a human form, evidenced by the draconic features still present, mainly her horns, eyes, claw-like nails and sharp teeth. Even their respective hybrid-forms were opposites, Blake's being mostly human with draconic limbs and certain features (some of which made of some kind of crystal instead of keratin) while Rouge's was more akin to a humanoid dragon.

Saying that the dinner was livelier than usual at the Lovegood-residence was quite the understatement. Rouge had almost always a good joke for just about anything, ready to make a humorous comment, some with more and better taste than others, and when the joke failed, Blake was quick to follow up with a snarky follow up, delivered in her delivery of a deadpan, usually at Rouge's expense. Though considering that it was only banter and no real heat in it there was as a result no real heat in Rouge's responses.

Rouge's meeting with the various pets revealed that she, like Blake, had a fondness for animals. But while Blake's fondness and respect for animals mainly stemmed from their combat abilities and placement in the food chain, particularly the various Beasts, Wyverns and other kinds of creatures within her domain, Rouge's came from an unexpected angle. She liked animals and other things that were cute, particularly amphibians for some strange reason. Which made Blake wonder how her fellow Demi-Dragon Goddess would react to seeing a smaller specimen of the Amphibian she liked to call Tetranadon, a creature that resembled a mix between a frog, turtle and platypus with algae-like fur. Upon receiving a description of the creature, Rouge almost begged Blake to get one, only to be informed that it was a bad idea to approach one, let alone trying to acquire an egg, as this time of year was the Tetranadon and a few other species' mating season, but also that attempting to do so some time in the autumn would be safer. To which Rouge actually pouted, before changing her expression to an excited grin upon hearing the positive info.

Eventually, it became time to go to sleep. While Xenophilius slept in his own room, the kids and teens were sharing Luna's room. Blake and Karna was sharing the same bed as Luna, the two mates in their respective birthday suits while the Reincarnation was wearing one of her mommy's old pajamas. Entoma had an unusually wide hammock attached to a pair of support beams, made from her own golden silk based on the color, which she slept in while snuggling with her Rachniods. Rouge simply used the Illusion of Dreams to create, as per her description, the most comfortable futon ever, of all time, along with the other things before unraveling the scarf, taking her shorts off and falling asleep almost as soon as she hit the futon, only truly falling asleep after creating a plushy in the shape of a cartoonishly deformed Tetranadon and hugging it, making a rather adorable image of the Demi-Dragon Goddess of Dreams. Blake was quick to capture the image of Rouge snoozing while hugging her plushy on a wizarding photograph, which she would use to tease (and possibly blackmail) her fellow Demi-Dragon Goddess later.
