A/N – Oh wow, I did not expect such an overwhelming reaction to the previous chapter :-). I haven't received that many reviews since 2012 and I wasn't even sure the middle part of the chapter was working well before I posted it. I am so happy everyone loved the chapter so much, I'm not sure I can keep it up though… ;-).
I just want to say that I didn't write the crosswalk scene with the intention to make everyone think Arizona was gonna get hit by a car, I realized it had that effect when I reread the scene but I just needed to build the scene up to trigger the memory, even my own reaction was "Oh my God, everyone is going to think she will get hit by a car!" LOL, but it worked so well for what I wanted to achieve that I didn't want to change it.
I'd also like to extend a special shout out to Carly Fiorina, I remember you from my previous story, it's nice to see you back with comments :-).
Okay, let's move on, I've kept you waiting for too long ;-)
CHAPTER 12
"I mean it, I love you more than… anything…, but I want more, I want commitments, I want rings… so… marry me…," the words kept on ringing in Arizona's head as she ran towards Callie's apartment, she needed to see her, she needed to tell her.
Callie was sitting on the sofa lost in thoughts. Being all alone in the apartment wasn't doing her any good at all. She had put Sofia to bed when she arrived home and was hoping Mark would stop by again but he went to spend the night by Lexie's side. She brought her glass to her lips and took a sip of red wine as she remembered her conversation with Alex the day before. They were both scrubbing for the surgery on a ten-year-old girl who was injured in the bus crash.
**FLASHBACK**
"I hope you don't mind that Arizona is staying with me," Alex said as he rubbed the brush over his nails.
"It's fine," Callie mumbled in reply.
"I just…, I couldn't say no to her, she needs a friend, and I know that if she remembered, I would be the last person she would want to see… but I just couldn't turn my back on her… She's been my mentor and my friend… she has taught me everything I know about peds surgery, so I want to be there for her, but I hope you don't feel like I'm helping her get away from you."
"Alex, it's fine, she does need a friendly face, and it really isn't surprising she clicked with you again in this short period of time. The two of you have that peds vibe that connects you and she really needs it."
"Yeah, well I'm really glad I can at least help somehow…"
"I think you are helping her a lot by doing this prep for the test. How did the practice go?"
"Oh it was amazing! We did so many things yesterday and Cristina was being tough so I really think she will do great tomorrow!"
Callie smiled, "That's great! She does need to go back to being herself as much as possible."
"Yeah, and I'm sure it can only help her get the memory back. How are you doing with all that?"
"Pfft, not great…, but it was worse when she was in a coma, so… I'm trying to be positive… but it's hard, I just want her back…" Callie explained and then paused for a second or two, "…and I don't know if I will ever get her back…" she whispered.
"You will, come on, she loves you, she'll come around you'll see, just give her some time…"
Callie laughed out loud, "What has happened in this hospital that you and Mark of all people are giving me the same advice about how to get her back?"
Alex chuckled, "Well, I think we have all been shaken up by that plane crash… it kind of makes you wonder about life you know, and what's important… and also we've seen how much you two love each other… no memory loss can come between that… plus, I think she's a bit jealous of Mark," he added with another chuckle.
Callie stopped scrubbing and turned her head towards Alex, "Why would you think that?"
"Oh she asked about the two of you yesterday, have no idea why but I sensed it wasn't just curiosity," he winked and then turned his attention back to his hands.
"What did you tell her?"
"The truth, that it was just casual and that you were never a couple… but I did mess up mentioning you being married to George…," Alex added squinting his eyes and waiting for Callie to shout at him.
"What!?" Callie exclaimed as her blood rushed through her body.
"Sorry, it just slipped," Alex said and apologetically raised his shoulders. "I think she's fine with it, Cristina explained that it was just a few months' thing, but Mark… umm… yeah, I'm not sure she's that fine with Mark…"
Callie shook her head, "I already explained to her that Mark is just a friend, she's fine with it… but I can't believe you told her about George!"
"I'm really sorry, it's just, it's not easy to keep track of the things you can and can't say. You know how fast we all are with our mouths…"
Callie let out a frustrated chuckle, "Yeah, I'm actually surprised she hasn't already been informed about every single detail of our lives!"
"You know what you need… a barbecue! We can throw a party for my new house and Cristina coming back and that way you can both be more relaxed, just hang out with everyone…"
"Hmm, yeah and have more people blabbing to her about the past that she doesn't remember!"
"Well, she can't stay under a bubble, now can she? Come on, it will be fun, and she gets to see you in a casual surrounding, with friends..."
"Err…, yeah, okay…, maybe it's not such a bad idea…, but seriously if someone else shares more of our personal info with her I will bite their head off!"
"Umm, I would think twice about that one, then she might definitely run away," Alex teased.
"Oh shut up!" Callie said through laughter as she stepped into the OR after him.
**END OF FLASHBACK**
Callie leaned back on the sofa and closed her eyes. Everything is so screwed up, she's not home, other people are telling her about me, and I'm supposed to wait, and do nothing… she sighed and brought the glass to her mouth again. She inhaled the oaky scent of the red liquid and was just taking a big gulp of it when a loud knock on the door startled her and she almost spilled the wine all over her blouse.
"Jesus," she mumbled as she put her right hand on her chest to calm herself down and then slowly placed the glass on the table before she stood up. She walked to the door, opened it casually, and then gasped when she saw Arizona standing in front of her.
"I proposed…" Arizona immediately said trying to catch her breath.
"What!?" Callie asked not taking her eyes off of Arizona's face. Is she talking about someone else, did she propose to someone at the bar?, she couldn't stop the thought from instantly invading her mind.
"I proposed to you in the car…" Arizona explained, "I think…," she said looking at Callie with a confused expression on her face, "Did I?" she asked.
Callie smiled, "Yes you did."
"But then after that, nothing, I don't remember anything after that, I just remember saying I mean it, marry me, and I don't remember anything after that, I mean you clearly said yes but I don't remember that," Arizona said all in one breath.
"That's because we were in an accident immediately after you proposed and I said yes much later when I woke up after surgery."
"Oh my God!"
"Come inside," Callie said taking Arizona's hand and leading her inside.
They walked to the couch and Arizona spent a few minutes processing the news and replaying the scene in her head.
"You were pregnant…," she whispered.
"Yeah," Callie replied in low voice.
Arizona turned her head towards Callie, tears filling her eyes as a new realization hit her.
"So… Sofia being born prematurely… it was because of that accident…?" she asked as her voice trembled.
Callie nodded silently and Arizona buried her head in her hands.
"I was driving… was it… was it my fault?"
"Noo! It wasn't anybody's fault, accidents happen. I stupidly unfastened my seatbelt to get my damn phone, everything happened so fast, it was just a few seconds…, but Sofia is fine now, I'm fine, everything turned out okay. Everything is okay Arizona," Callie assured. "Well apart from you having partial amnesia now," she teased and made Arizona laugh as she wiped her tears off.
"I also remember kissing you in a dark bathroom, looked like a bar or something, you were upset, leaning against the sink and I came closer and I kissed you. Actually it looked exactly like the bathroom at Joe's."
Callie smiled, "It was at Joe's bar. That's the first time I met you. You came to the bathroom after me, and let me know that you liked me. You gave me a whole speech about knowing things about me because you heard it from other people in the hospital and how I shouldn't be upset because people liked me."
"I was stalking you!?" Arizona said in shock.
Callie laughed out loud, "No, you weren't stalking me. You just heard about me from other people because my ex-girlfriend who was also a doctor at the hospital left without even breaking up with me so I was the talk of the hospital for a few days, and you heard about it."
"And I kissed you, just like that, without knowing you?"
Callie smiled, "You actually swept me off my feet completely. I was crying in the bathroom, feeling sorry for myself, and then suddenly this gorgeous woman with the most beautiful eyes appeared and kissed me out of the blue, I really thought I was dreaming, and I kept on thinking about your lips for days."
"I need a drink," Arizona said and quickly grabbed Callie's glass from the table. She gulped down a fair amount before Callie even had a chance to react.
"Arizona, you shouldn't!" Callie warned but it was too late as Arizona was already putting the glass back on the table.
"The scene that flashed in front of my eyes in that bathroom felt so real…," Arizona whispered and turned her head towards Callie. Their eyes met briefly but then Arizona broke the gaze and her eyes moved lower and fixated on Callie's lips.
"Arizona…," Callie whispered but before she could say anything else, Arizona's lips were already pressing firmly against her own and she felt Arizona's fingers inside her hair. Callie moaned slightly and pulled Arizona closer as she got lost in the intensity of the kiss. There was nothing gentle in the contact of their lips, the build-up of the day affecting them both as they let the kiss clear their heavy emotions. Arizona pulled Callie's blouse up and slipped her hand inside in search of bare skin. She moaned while her tongue sought more contact with Callie's tongue. Callie had already felt Arizona's hands start to unbutton her blouse when her head suddenly realized where this was leading and she took hold of Arizona's hand.
"We should stop…," Callie whispered out of breath.
"I don't want to stop," Arizona mumbled as her lips started nibbling on Callie's neck.
"God…" Callie moaned but didn't allow her head to get lost. "Seriously, we should stop Arizona," she said again and pulled back.
Arizona looked at her in surprise.
"Why…?" she asked.
"Well, how about the fact that three days ago going further caused you to leave, I don't want you freaking out again…"
"I won't freak out…," Arizona said still feeling mesmerized by the alluring touch of Callie's lips.
Callie sighed and tilted her head to the side, "You said completely the opposite on Friday…"
"Right…" Arizona mumbled as her head started thinking more clearly.
"We said we would take it slow… and you are emotional, and probably affected quite a lot by everything that has happened today… I just don't want us to wake up tomorrow morning and regret it..."
"I…," Arizona started and paused for a few seconds and then nodded her head and got up quickly. "I should go…"
"You don't have to go," Callie quickly said, "we can talk, have some tea…"
"Yeah, well I don't really wanna talk, and if I stay, I'll make you stop talking too," Arizona admitted bluntly and made Callie laugh.
"Okay," Callie said and smiled.
"Could we have lunch tomorrow, the three of us, take Sofia to the park and have lunch there? Would that be okay?" Arizona asked twisting her fingers nervously.
Callie smiled, "Sure, we can do that."
"Do you think I could sneak in right now and see her?" Arizona asked timidly.
"Uhm, I'm not sure… if she wakes up, it's gonna be difficult to get her to sleep again if you leave immediately…"
"Right…," Arizona nodded her head and sighed "And if I stay longer then I definitely won't be able to keep my hands to myself..."
Callie smiled but didn't dare to say anything. A part of her desperately wanted Arizona to stay, but another part wanted to protect Sofia and herself.
"I'm really sorry about tonight, going out with Alex, April and Jackson, honestly I really wanted to celebrate with you and Sofia but this morning when I asked you to meet and talk, you said you would let me know when you had the time, and I didn't want to push you."
"I was hurt… that you didn't let me know about passing the test…" Callie explained honestly.
"I know, I saw it in your eyes, I saw your body language… I had found out literally two minutes before you appeared, and had it not been for Alex squeezing me into the hug as I was holding my phone in my hand, you would have received a phone call from me."
Arizona paused and looked into Callie's eyes. "As soon I stepped out of that Board room, you were the only person I was thinking about, and the first person I wanted to share the news with..."
"I was?" Callie whispered.
"You were," Arizona confirmed with a smile as her eyes landed on Callie's lips again. She hesitated for a few moments, fighting the desire to wrap her arms around Callie and capture her lips again. She closed her eyes and sighed, "I should go…" she whispered.
"So I'll see you for lunch then?" Callie said as she debated asking Arizona more questions just to keep her close for just a little bit longer.
"Definitely, I can't wait to see Sofia, and maybe we could talk about everything?"
Callie nodded her head, "Sure."
Arizona opened the door slowly, "Goodnight," she said and forced herself to step out when every cell of her body just wanted to stay on the other side of the door.
Callie walked towards the door and stood in the doorway. "Goodnight," she replied as she watched Arizona take a few steps forward but then suddenly she turned around and came back to Callie, she placed both of her palms on Callie's cheeks and kissed her passionately before she let go and whispered a quick "Bye." She turned around and hurried out of the building.
Callie stood in the same spot, not moving, she raised her fingers to her own lips and let them trail over. She closed her eyes and let out a long sigh before she entered back inside.
An hour later Arizona was lying in bed not able to sleep as the proposal scene kept on playing in front of her eyes.
"I mean it, I love you more than… anything…, but I want more, I want commitments, I want rings… so… marry me…." The words continued circling inside her head as if someone had put them on replay. She tried to close her eyes but when she did, she could taste Callie's lips as the scene of their kisses from that night kept on mixing with the scene of their kiss in the bar.
Arizona sighed, lying there alone in a rented room didn't feel right. She remembered important things about their relationship and Callie wasn't there to wrap her arms around her body and caress her skin. That would have been the perfect end to this day. That's what she wanted more than anything right now, for Callie to be there with her, to feel the closeness of her body and let Callie's even breath lull her into sleep… This is how this day should have ended, but instead she was alone in bed, not able to sleep. Arizona looked at the ceiling and sighed heavily and then finally decided to get up, she wasn't gonna get any sleep anyway, so she might as well look at the cases that awaited her on Wednesday.
On the other side of the city, Callie wasn't having insomnia issues at all, she was already sleeping soundly with her right arm wrapped around Arizona's pillow and a soft smile covering her face.
TUESDAY
It was 1 p.m. when Arizona came to the daycare to pick up Sofia. She waited for Callie outside the room, observing Sofia through the window as she felt her chest get filled with an unfamiliar feeling. Just looking at Sofia playing on the floor she felt warmth around her heart and a loving smile decorated her face.
"Hey, you're already here," Callie said as she appeared around the corner. Arizona turned to face Callie.
"I just couldn't wait any longer, I wanted to see her, and be close to her…"
Callie smiled, "You could have gone in."
"Oh, I wanted to wait for you, I don't want to upset her, I… we need to decide how to do this, I don't want my presence to affect her in a bad way."
"We'll figure it out," Callie said and took Arizona's hand, "Let's go get her," she opened the door and pulled Arizona inside. Arizona looked at their entangled fingers and felt her heart skip a beat. She realized it felt really nice to have Callie's fingers wrapped around hers, but the feeling was short as their hands separated when they heard Sofia scream with joy.
"Mama!" Sofia got up and walked towards them with unsteady steps.
"She's walking on her own…" Arizona whispered in awe as she crouched down and spread her arms.
"Yeah, she started doing that on Sunday," Callie informed and smiled looking at the scene of Sofia walking into Arizona's embrace. Arizona picked Sofia up and got on her feet.
"Hi baby girl," Arizona said as she smiled broadly at Sofia and placed numerous kisses on her cheek.
Sofia wrapped her little arms around Arizona's neck and squeezed her tightly.
"Oh, I've missed you," Arizona whispered as tears started to sparkle in her eyes. She caressed Sofia's hair and gently ran her palm along Sofia's back.
"Mama," Sofia called again and placed her head on Arizona's shoulder letting it rest there for a few seconds before she looked at Callie. She lifted her head and spoke, "Mommy, mama here."
"Yes, sweetheart, mama is here, now let's go out into the park and have some lunch," Callie said and smiled softly.
"Park, yay!" Sofia exclaimed as she looked at Arizona again and let her fingers touch Arizona's mouth as if to check she was really there in front of her.
Arizona's smiled and placed another kiss on Sofia's cheek, "Come on, let's go to the park!"
Once in the park they found a table in the shade and sat down. Sofia kept on sitting in Arizona's lap not willing to separate from her. Arizona enjoyed having Sofia close and continued giving her kisses and caresses as she got lost in her thoughts for a few moments thinking about Sofia and what she must have been feeling when Arizona left. Arizona felt her breath get caught in her chest as sadness clouded her eyes.
"Was she sad on Friday?" Arizona whispered.
Callie lifted her head and their eyes met. The sadness she saw in Arizona's eyes made her swallow hard.
"She was…" Callie decided to be honest, "had Mark not shown up I don't know how I would have managed to calm her down…"
"I'm sorry…" Arizona whispered. She kissed Sofia, "I'm sorry baby that I made you sad…"
Callie's eyes filled with tears and she had to swallow a lump that formed in her throat.
"Callie… how are we going to do this…? I don't want to hurt Sofia any more."
Callie sighed, "Honestly I have no idea… one step at a time," she said and shrugged her shoulders. "How do you want to do this?"
"I don't know, I know I want to keep on seeing Sofia…, and you too."
"Okay, well we take it from there then," Callie said with a smile.
"Maybe I could stop by every evening to be there when she goes to bed..." Arizona suggested.
"Oh, well…" Callie hesitated, "I'm not sure that would be good for her…, I need to think about it..."
"Okay, what exactly are you worried about?" Arizona asked.
"Well, honestly, what if we start doing that, and then you decide that you don't want to stick around… then it will be even harder on Sofia..."
Arizona sighed, "I wish I remembered everything…" she started saying but Callie's phone interrupted her.
"It's Karev, I told him to call me if there were any changes with that girl from the bus crash," Callie informed as she looked at her phone.
"Yeah, sure, answer it," Arizona said and focused on Sofia, "…it would all be so much easier then," she whispered to herself while she caressed Sofia's cheek and Callie talked with Alex.
A minute later Callie put her phone away.
"Sorry, he has a surgery soon so he asked if we can check on the girl a bit earlier."
"Oh, do you have to go?"
"No, no, we'll do it in half an hour. So you were saying…"
"Oh nothing," Arizona said as she got lost in thoughts again.
Callie observed her and wondered if she was maybe thinking about George but didn't want to ask Callie about it. She took a long breath and decided to bring the topic up.
"So, should we talk about George?"
Arizona lifted her eyes and looked at Callie, "George?" she asked a bit puzzled, "Who is George?"
"My ex-husband, Alex told me he let it slip the other day."
"Oh right... well, you told me you are bisexual so it's not really such a big surprise."
Callie nodded her head, "So you don't have any questions about it?"
"Umm…, did you love him?"
"Not as much as I love you," Callie immediately said smiling softly.
Arizona smiled, "You're a sweet talker," she turned to Sofia, "your mommy is a real sweet talker."
Callie laughed out loud.
"I'm sorry he cheated on you, he was obviously an idiot to do that," Arizona said and turned to face Callie.
"Oh they told you that as well!" Callie stated in surprise as she leaned back and exhaled loudly.
"Yeah, Cristina mentioned he cheated with his best friend. That must have been awful for you, I don't know him but he was obviously an ass!"
"My whole relationship with George was a mess, I was a mess back then, it was a mistake to marry him, but it helped me grow as a person. And then you came into my life and everything got better."
"We didn't… I mean I hope we didn't get involved while you were still married to him."
"Oh no, George and I divorced in 2007, I met you one year later."
Arizona smiled and nodded her head. There were a few moments of silence as both of them diverted their attention to Sofia who grabbed an empty plastic glass and started banging on the table with it.
Arizona laughed and took the glass from Sofia's hands.
"So, you'll have to leave soon and we haven't decided anything," Arizona stated. She didn't want to leave things hanging, she preferred to have some kind of a plan.
"Right," Callie said and thought for a few moments and then smiled mysteriously, "Well, you said you'd like to get to know me, so… take me out on a date," she said surprising herself how calm she was about the suggestion.
"Oh, okay..," Arizona commented with a smile and thought for a few seconds. "How about Friday?" she asked.
"That would be two times this week then... we're not there yet, we've been on one date... I thought you wanted to get to know me slowly..." Callie teased.
Arizona smiled, "I've already proposed to you, so we've already skipped a few steps…"
Callie laughed out loud, "Okay, you win, you can take me on a date on Friday."
"Awesome!" Arizona smiled broadly and bounced Sofia in her lap inciting a happy giggle from her.
Callie observed Arizona as her brain processed how normal and relaxed this felt and she wondered if Arizona felt the same.
"This is nice," Callie commented with a smile.
"Yes it is, I feel relaxed and happy just spending a few moments with both of you in the park."
"So you are not freaking out right now?" Callie asked boldly.
Arizona laughed, "No, I am not freaking out."
"Good," Callie smiled and allowed herself to simply enjoy the nice family moments she was suddenly getting.
LATER THAT EVENING
It was late evening when Arizona went upstairs to her room. She spent another three hours going through the patients' charts with Alex, preparing for her first day back at work. She took a shower and was walking inside the room drying her hair with a towel when she heard her phone buzz.
Arizona smiled as she read a message from Callie.
~ How are you doing? Ready for the big day tomorrow? ~
Arizona started typing a reply but then deleted it.
~ Can you talk? ~, she typed instead.
Callie didn't reply but immediately pressed the video call button.
Arizona opened the connection.
"Hey," she said with a smile.
"Hey, how's everything? Are you nervous?" Callie asked as she felt her breath become more shallow seeing Arizona with wet hair falling on her shoulders. God how she loved Arizona's wet hair, the way it curled after the contact with water, it always took Callie's breath away.
"Oh, I am a bit but I went through the charts with Alex this evening again and I'm sure everything will be fine. I'm both excited and a bit nervous."
"You'll do great, I'm sure of it," Callie smiled encouragingly.
"Is Sofia asleep? Did she cry?"
"She did a bit, she was asking for you…," Callie explained. "So actually it made me think about what you said at lunch today, umm… maybe tomorrow you could stop by after all, we could celebrate your big day and we can put Sofia to bed together, she really misses you."
"Really?" Arizona asked in surprise. "Are you sure? That would mean we get to meet three times this week," she teased.
"Four if you count Monday evening when you came over," Callie said and smiled broadly. "It'll be fine, just don't come with your hair wet," she added without thinking and her cheeks immediately started turning pink.
Arizona laughed wholeheartedly, "You always did like my wet hair."
Callie smiled, "Yeah, it's just the way those curls fall on… Whoa! Wait! How do you know that!?" she suddenly realized that Arizona was not supposed to remember that.
"Oh, umm… did I just remember that?" Arizona asked in surprise.
"Well, I haven't told you about it, and it's not something anyone else would know!"
"Oh, wow, I remembered another thing…" Arizona said pensively and then smiled. "So this is why you've had this 'I can't stop staring at your hair falling on your shoulders' look in your eyes this whole conversation," she teased.
Callie laughed out loud, "Damn! And there I thought I could safely ogle you without being caught."
Arizona laughed, "Oh I'm now so happy I finally have something on you."
"What do you mean you have something on me?" Callie asked with a tad of protest in her voice.
"Something I can use, I could distract you with my wet hair and get what I want…" Arizona explained teasingly.
"You wouldn't! That's… Arizona, that's not nice!" Callie protested playfully enjoying every second of the game that was suddenly going on.
Arizona giggled, "I promise I will use it for nice things only."
"Oh really, like what?"
"Oh I don't know, if I wanted an extra date with you, I could just send you a photo of my wet hair and you would say yes."
Callie laughed, "It's nice to see you in your bubbly mood," she admitted.
Arizona smiled and then yawned as her body asked for some rest after a long day.
"You're tired," Callie said softly.
"Yeah, it's been a long day, but this call has helped me relax, I think I will actually manage to get some sleep."
"Great, I've enjoyed the call too. I'll let you get some rest. So see you tomorrow at work?"
"Yes, see you tomorrow, thank you for the lovely conversation Calliope," Arizona said and made Callie swoon.
Ahh, hearing her say my full name makes me so damn happy, Callie thought as she waved at the blonde on the other side of the screen.
"Goodnight," she said with a smile.
"Goodnight," Arizona waved back and ended the call.
She walked back into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She smiled seeing the reflection of her still wet locks touching her shoulders. I'm beginning to really like this dating game, she thought and ran her fingers through her hair. She spent some time blow drying it and then went to bed. This time she fell asleep peacefully, feeling relaxed and happy after she really enjoyed the lovely phone call.
WEDNESDAY MORNING
Next morning Arizona woke up early and couldn't fall asleep again so she decided to just get up and go for a walk in the park before work. She wanted to clear her head and hoped it would help her relax a bit as well. Even though she was excited about going back to work, her nerves were still getting the best of her. As she walked along the park, fresh air really helped clear her head and she felt more energetic and relaxed.
At 8:45 she walked out of the park and continued towards the hospital entrance when she saw the familiar brunette cross the street. She smiled and looked for Sofia among a dozen of people crossing the street around Callie, but when she did, her smile immediately dissipated as she saw Sofia giggling in Mark's arms. She stopped walking and observed them from a distance. Mark was holding Sofia in his right arm while his left hand was circling around Sofia's head, obviously playing some pretend game and making Sofia scream with laughter. Callie's head tilted back as she laughed out loud as well, and Arizona felt her stomach drop.
She kept on watching them as they walked towards the hospital entrance and more unexpected feelings overwhelmed her abdomen. And just like that, her mood changed as the scene she just saw completely reversed the relaxation effect from the park. Is there really nothing going on between them… they look like a happy couple. I need to pay more attention to Mark Sloan…, Arizona thought worriedly as she finally continued on her path towards the hospital lost in thoughts.
A/N – Oh boy, I struggled with this chapter so much, the beginning and the end were easy as they have been planned before, but filling up the space in between proved harder than expected, but I think I have finally reached the point when I'm happy with it, I hope you will like it too. The wet hair memory is for MondlerFanKay, there, you wanted some random memory out of the blue ;-).
So, I don't plan to write about Arizona remembering every single detail about her past with Callie but if there is something in particular any one of you would like to see her remember from Calzona scenes, let me know and I can try to include it in one of the chapters. Thank you all again for all your comments and support, to quote one half of our favorite couple: you are awesome! :-)
