Georgia stayed with the Potters for the remainder of the summer, Fleamont working to try and get custody of her removed from her parents.
Fleamont warned Georgia that it might be a long process. "Legal things like this always are, but things are in your favor, especially with what your father tried to do to you."
Georgia was with Fleamont in his study, he was explaining to her how things were going so far. "We already have enough proof against your parents to have custody temporarily removed, but a bit of work is going to have to be done in order to get custody removed permanently, and you may have to testify in front of the Wizengamot."
Georgia was willing to do whatever it took if it meant that she wouldn't have to deal with her parents ever again. "Of course, whatever it takes."
Fleamont and Euphoria had also managed to get Georgia's things. Georgia's father had been stubborn at first, and had threatened to hit Fleamont, but after Fleamont pulled out his wand and turned Georgia's mother into a rat, her father was much more cooperative.
"Mr. Potter, I can't thank you enough for everything that your family has done for me."
"Nonsense, nobody should be treated the way that you have. James is very attached to you, and any friend of his is more than welcome in our house. He's very protective over you, you know."
"Oh trust me, I know," Georgia said with a laugh. Ever since she had come to live with the Potters, there had barely been a second when James hadn't been by her side. He was the overprotective brother that Georgia had never had, but instead of him seeming overbearing and controlling, Georgia thought that it was actually very sweet how protective James was over her.

Later on that day, Georgia and James went down into the local village to get some ice cream.
"Have you heard anything from Sirius or Remus?" Georgia asked as they sat down with large bowls of ice cream. She was especially worried about Sirius because of Walburga, she had been furious upon finding out that Sirius had been 'harboring' a Mudblood in their home.
"I've gotten a couple of letters from Sirius, but I haven't heard anything from Remus. He and his parents are on holiday in France though, so that's probably why. Sirius said that he's alright, and he specifically said for me to tell you that you don't need to worry about him."
"Well, that's just going to make me worry even more about him." Georgia poked at her ice cream, causing James to sigh softly. "Georgia, Sirius can take care of himself, and he would tell me if it got too bad, we have a codeword that we use if either of us are in serious trouble."
Georgia nodded her head, but she still couldn't help but worry about Sirius. "It's my fault if he gets into trouble, James."
"Sirius knew what he was doing. Besides, he wasn't going to just leave you out on the street, especially considering everything that your father has done to you."
"Looks like Potter's finally gotten himself a girlfriend." A group of boys had entered the ice cream shop, and James scowled as he saw them. "Pederson, what are you doing here?"
"I'm just getting some ice cream, like you and your little friend here. What's your name sweetheart?"
Georgia was already disliking this Pederson fellow. He seemed to be a year or two older than James and herself. He had wavy hair, light brown eyes that seemed to be able to pierce right through a person, and he was tall too, at least half a foot taller than James, who was three or four inches taller than Georgia.
"My name is none of your concern, or your business."
"A smartass, huh? No wonder you got together with Potter here."
"We aren't dating, James is a good friend of mine, I'm staying with him and his parents for the summer."
"Oh yes, I remember now, you're their charity case aren't you?"
"Watch your mouth, Pederson." James went to stand up, but Georgia grabbed his arm, making him sit back down. "Just ignore him, James, he isn't worth it."
"Better listen to your girlfriend Potter. Besides, you wouldn't stand a chance against me."
Pederson was starting to remind Georgia of Lucius Malfoy. "As I said before, he isn't my boyfriend, and at least James has a chance of getting a girlfriend, unlike a bull like yourself. I mean…" She gestured to Pederson's body. He was sturdy, and definitely resembled a bull. "Just look at you. Girls these days like a boy who's sweet and sensitive, not one that looks like he's been taking steroids all of his life. I do hope that you know you're digging your way into an early grave by doing that."
James bit back a laugh as Pederson glared at Georgia. "You better watch it little girl."
"First it was princess, now it's little girl. Honestly, what is up with all of these derogatory nicknames that you've come up with?" Georgia stood up, taking James by the hand and walking out of the shop with him. On her way out, she muttered a spell under her breath, and a few moments later, Pederson could be heard screaming in terror and panic.
"What the bloody hell did you do to him?" James asked incredulously.
"Oh nothing much. One of the Ravenclaws taught me a spell, it turns a person into the creature that best reflects their personality."
The screams soon turned into the sounds of a cow, or rather, a calf, and Georgia started to laugh. "Not only did he look like a bull, but apparently he has the personality of one too, a baby it would seem, which only proves that he's a coward."
James stopped walking and just stared at Georgia. "What happened to you? Don't get me wrong, that's a bloody brilliant prank, but the Georgia that I know would never do something as bold as that."
Georgia just shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, I guess...I guess that I'm just tired of people pushing me around all of the time. I used to think that I deserved it."
"What on earth would make you think that?"
"I guess that I was just trying to think of reasons why people would treat me so horribly. But after seeing the way that Walburga treated Sirius, he didn't deserve any of that, he didn't do anything that warranted being treated like that, and it made me realize that all of the bad things that have happened to me, none of them are my fault."
James slung an arm around Georgia's shoulder. "Well, what the hell do you think that we've been trying to tell you for months. I'm glad to see that you've finally come to your senses."
"Who was that guy anyway?"
"Lars Pedersen, he goes to Durmstrang, but his parents have a summer home here. He likes to torment me every single chance that he can get, thinks that only the big and strong get to go to Durmstrang." He flexed his muscles, causing Georgia to laugh a little bit. "I wouldn't want to go to Durmstrang anyway, there's a lot of rumours going around that they teach the students the Dark Arts."
Georgia shook her head. "If Durmstrang is full of prats like him, I don't think that I would want to go there anyway, I already have to deal with Malfoy, and that's bad enough as it is."
"I couldn't agree more with you, Georgie. And now that you've finally mustered up some courage, please tell me that you're going to help the boys and I with some of our pranks this year, especially if you have pranks like that up your sleeve."
"Of course I will, I wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Awesome. Now let's go and tell Dad what happened, he's going to get a kick out of this. Do me a favor though and don't mention it to Mum, I don't think that she would be too pleased if she found out that you turned someone into a baby cow."
