Lily had woken Hermione up stupidly early for a Saturday in the middle of the summer that morning, eager for their trip into Muggle London for their shopping excursion. They ate a quick breakfast with only Geraint for company as the rest of the household was not yet up.
As they rose to leave the table to get changed out of their pyjamas Geraint cleared his throat, "Girls, me and Iphemia are both unfortunately busy today so will not be able to accompany you into London."
Hermione's shoulders slumped, and her and Lily shared a sad look - there was no way Hermione's parents would let the two go into busy Muggle London by themselves, even if they were fifteen. "Does that mean we can't go, dad?"
"Of course not, love." Geraint smiled at the happy expressions on their faces, "Your brothers are both of age, even if they neglect to act that way sometimes, so they can accompany you both."
Hermione's eyes widened, and she sent Lily a mildly horrified look, "Fab and Gid? But dad, they'll be insufferable!"
Geraint just chuckled, and waved his hand carelessly, "I'm sure you'll deal with them, love. I don't think they've woken up yet, so why don't you go wake them up so they can get ready."
Hermione sighed and acquiesced. It was Fabian and Gideon going with them, or not going into London at all, so she knew which she'd choose. She and Lily headed back upstairs, Lily bouncing excitedly as she headed off to the room she'd stayed in last time over Christmas, and was staying in again this time.
Hermione made her way to the twins' rooms, and knocked loudly on Fabian's door. When there was no answer she just pushed the door open and stormed noisily into the room, knowing she was acting a little irrationally to finding out that they'd be accompanying her and Lily to London. To her surprise, both her brothers were asleep in Fabian's large bed. Though she supposed it shouldn't shock her, they were very close and sometimes didn't want to sleep apart. When neither boy woke at her loud stomping she grinned a little, and stepped far back from the bed. She then cast a wide-disperse aguamenti and laughed loudly at the swearing and shouting from her brothers as they woke to being drenched.
"Morning." She piped up cheerfully, "You two are escorting me and Lily into Muggle London for shopping today. Be downstairs in half an hour." She practically skipped out of the room, feeling a lot better, as both Fabian and Gideon gaped, betrayed, after her.
"What just happened?" Gideon muttered after she'd left.
"I think our sister has taken a page out of our book." Fabian returned, flinging his head to the side to try and get some of the water off.
"Hmmm." Gideon hummed, looking after her. "That's either brilliant or terrifying."
Fabian just laughed, and then swore loudly when a standard drying charm did nothing more than make him damp instead of soaked. "Terrifying, I've decided." He snapped.
10:20am
Kings Road, Chelsea, London
Once the twins had dried off, and reluctantly gotten dressed and had a quick breakfast, Lily had insisted they take them to Kings Road in Chelsea first. Apparently it was a huge centre for the punk scene in London right now. Hermione had been surprised, Chelsea was very different in the 90s - a lot more bougie -, but right now it looked pretty amazing.
"Come on, Hermione!" Lily exclaimed, pulling Hermione after her down the street, "I want to get some proper punk stuff!"
Hermione goggled at some of the stores as they passed them - that was Vivienne Westwood's first ever store! - and watched the bustling street of punks and a few hippies enjoying themselves in the mid-July sunshine. "This is so cool." She muttered to Lily, feeling a little out of place.
Fabian and Gideon somehow managed to blend in perfectly, surprising considering their heritage when Hermione felt so out of place, but they'd put on worn Muggle jeans with casual t-shirts, and the two tall attractive twins were getting quite a few looks from some of the Muggle girls they passed, and that had put an insufferable smirk on their lips.
Fabian winked at a pretty girl with spiked bright pink hair that reminded Hermione painfully of Tonks, and a multitude of piercings, including one through her eyebrow and a couple in her lips. Gideon grinned as a gaggle of probably fifteen year olds sighed as the twins swaggered past.
"They're gonna be hell to live with after this." Hermione muttered to Lily who laughed, and looked back to see the twins turn and watch a girl walk past them in unison.
"You'd think they'd never seen girls before." She said with a laugh.
Hermione looked back too and rolled her eyes, "That's because no 'proper' Pureblood girl would be so forward so they're not used to being the ones being pursued." Hermione scoffed.
"I want a piercing!" Gideon suddenly exclaimed, stepping up next to Hermione one side and slinging an arm around her neck.
"Mum would kill you." Hermione said dryly.
"Brill." Gideon and Fabian said in unison, and immediately dragged the girls towards a tattoo and piercing shop on the other side of the road.
"This is going to go badly," Lily muttered to Hermione as they were pulled after the twins into the shop. Hermione sighed and nodded a little. She didn't admit to Lily that she was kinda intrigued about getting a piercing herself.
"Mornin'." A gruff man standing at the counter near the entrance of the shop greeted them, "What can I get ya?"
"Morning." The twins said as one, sauntering up to the counter, leaving the girls hanging near the entrance to the shop. "We both want a piercing."
The guy just nodded, "What ya gettin', and where?" He asked, pushing a clipboard with a form and a biro attached across the counter to both the twins. "How old are ya?"
"Seventeen." Gideon responded for both of them. He stared down at the unfamiliar writing contraption for a moment, wide-eyed.
"Fill those in, an' we'll see 'bout gettin' ya both set up." He sniffed, "The prices are on the other side of the page." He gestured at the clipboards in the twins' hands. Both boys nodded and shuffled over to where Lily and Hermione had sat down.
Fabian leant over and whispered, holding the pen out to the two witches, "How the hell does this work?" Hermione and Lily shared a long-suffering look, and Lily leant over to explain to both oblivious boys.
"Wha' 'bout you little lady?" The gruff man asked, leaning on the counter and looking at Hermione now he was unoccupied. "Gonna get a piercin' with your boyfriend?" Hermione winced, but got up and headed up to the counter.
"Brothers." She pointed out quietly when she got up there. "There was one thing I was thinking about." She whispered, sending her brothers a surreptitious look.
An hour later the quartet left the shop, three of them with new piercings. Fabian and Gideon were proudly showing off their respective eyebrow piercings and wiggling their magically healed (courtesy of Hermione) eyebrows at everyone they passed. They'd made sure to get them in exactly the same place so that they were still identical. Hermione had just rolled her eyes - just like the Weasley twins she'd always been able to tell her brothers apart.
The gruff man had been very accommodating and had snuck Hermione back for her piercing whilst her brothers were otherwise occupied, and as such the Prewett twins were unaware of their sister's new addition.
The rest of the morning passed rather pleasantly, the twins being less aggravating and more accommodating than Hermione had expected them to be. After a while going in and out of the punk stores along Kings Road, where Lily had picked up multiple things, and managed to convince Hermione to buy a beat up leather jacket for herself, some huge clunky boots, and some fishnet stockings (when Fabian and Gideon weren't looking). Hermione had also seen the absolute perfect leather jacket for Sirius in a small second-hand store and had snatched it up for him.
They apparated over to Covent Garden for lunch, finding a lovely small cafe where Fabian and Gideon acted like the well-bred men they tried not to be most of the time and pulled Lily's and Hermione's chairs out for them gallantly. The waitress who took their order flirted shamelessly with both twins to Hermione's exasperation, and when one went up to the counter to order and the other went to the toilet she hurried over and leant in near to both the girls.
"So which of them is single?" The waitress asked with a titter, throwing a look over her shoulder and blatantly checking out Fabian who was currently ordering.
Hermione and Lily exchanged a look and rolled their eyes, when the waitress turned back to them urgently, Hermione smiled sweetly, "They're gay, honey." She said acerbically, though the waitress didn't notice through her disappointment.
She flounced off just before Gideon returned to the table, watching in bemusement when the waitress returned with their coffees and slammed them rather violently onto the table in front of the men she thought had been leading her on. Hermione and Lily snickered into their drinks but didn't say anything when Gideon sent them both a questioning look.
"That was weird." Fabian remarked later as they made their way through the underground to get to Camden Market, which had only been open for just over a year at this point in time.
"What was?" Lily asked innocently, exiting the Piccadilly line at Leicester Square to change over to the Northern line for the Camden Town stop.
"That waitress." Gideon looked around fascinated, looking very much like his brother-in-law, "Is this definitely the right way?" Lily shot him a look and didn't even dignify that with an answer.
"What about the waitress?" Hermione asked, controlling the laughter that wanted to escape - their waitress had been cool and polite to the girls for the rest of their lunch, and aloof and rather rude to the twins.
"She was really nice at first, and then turned into a right harpy." Fabian said with a shrug. Hermione and Lily shared a look, and then resolutely didn't look at each other again for fear of bursting out laughing. They reached the shockingly quiet, and actually much more pleasant, Camden Market rather quickly once Hermione had soothed her brothers' poor hurt egos.
Hermione and Lily both ended up with a shocking amount of clothing by the time the twins finally apparated them all out of London in the early evening. The shrieks from their mother when she saw the rings threaded through the twins' eyebrows carried throughout the whole Manor and made Hermione's day.

Prewett Estate
Dorcas and Alice had arrived early that morning, and the four Gryffindor girls spent the day catching up on everything that had happened over the summer so far. Well, nearly everything.
"Oh my god! I can't believe you got a piercing!" Dorcas exclaimed, leaning forward on the bed to see Hermione's piercing closer. "It looks so good!" She squealed.
Alice was staring at it with wide eyes, "It's kinda sexy," She mumbled, then blushed bright red. "Makes me want one."
"Did it hurt?" Dorcas asked, reaching out to poke at the pretty red and gold barbell threaded through Hermione's belly button. "And did you get it pierced with this?"
Hermione laughed, letting her top drop back down over her new piercing. "Didn't actually hurt too much, and I was able to heal it straight after, so it's much easier to deal with than if I was a Muggle. And no, I bought myself the Gryffindor coloured one." She said with a grin. "I did something else too."
Lily sat up at that, "What?"
"Did you get a tattoo!" Alice's eyes widened even further.
"No, sadly I'm too young to get a tattoo yet. Technically they shouldn't have pierced me without someone over eighteen present, but I used a little confundus."
"Hermione!" Lily exclaimed, scandalised. "How did you not get caught by the Ministry?"
Hermione winced a little, "I got Fabian to do it. They wouldn't have accepted any of us without Muggle ID. I just didn't tell him it was also to help me get a piercing." Lily just gaped at her friend.
"What else did you do?" Dorcas demanded, waving off Lily's concerns.
"I've put some protection spells on it, so if anyone shoots anything at me with the true intent to harm, then it should protect me. Hopefully it won't activate for duels and such in school because that would be awkward." She said with a laugh. The other girls laughed, and after a moment of silence from Lily still, she joined in.
"Sometimes you're worse than those damned Marauders!" She exclaimed, "I don't know why I put up with you." She pointed around the room at all of them, and they just laughed.
"You love us, that's why!" Alice cried, throwing herself in a hug at Lily that the others joined laughing. Lily, buried at the bottom of the pile, tried to protest, but they all ignored her with big grins. They all righted themselves just as Twinky popped into the room with a large tray of snacks and drinks.
"Thanks Twinky!" They chorused, sending happy smiles at the helpful elf. She bobbed her head happily, and popped back out of the room.
As they dug into the snacks with vigour there was a sharp tapping sound on Hermione's window. She looked up surprised, and stared at the owl hovering there for a second, before jumping to her feet to save the poor thing. She opened the window and the owl soared in with a soft hoot, alighting on the little perch she kept in her room. She dug out an owl treat and gave it to the owl whilst she detached the letter on it's held out leg. Hermes hissed from his place on her bed and she shooed the hostile cat away.
"Whose owl is that?" Lily asked, frowning at the pretty speckled owl.
Hermione shrugged, unrolling the scroll, and skimming it briefly to get to the name at the end, not taking any of the words in, "Huh. It's the Potters' owl." She read the short missive properly now, her eyes scanning the scrawl that could only be James', "James is inviting us to go over in a week for a party."
"Wait, us?" Alice asked, "How does he know we're here?"
"Well, he said 'you and those girly friends of yours'." Hermione said with a long-suffering sigh.
Dorcas scoffed a laugh, and flopped back on Hermione's bed, "I'm down for it." She said to the canopy. Alice nodded her agreement.
Lily, however, scrunched her nose, "Do I have to," She moaned plaintively, "Black and Potter for a whole day might kill me." Her friends exchanged exasperated looks where she couldn't see, rolling their eyes. It took a couple hours to convince Lily to join them, but she finally did with a sigh.
