Rebecca's Point of View
I was sitting in the library reading, cuddled into Aro when I got a phone call. *Ring!* I shifted my position so I could see who it was. We told everyone not to bother us, but important things did sometimes happen.
Checking the phellytone number I saw I didn't recognize it and nether did my phone, so I put it away and snuggled back into Aro. *Ring!*, "Oh come on!" checking my phone again as it could be a different person. Annnnnd… it wasn't. Sighing, I realized this person had the wrong number and that they probably weren't going to stop calling until I told them they had the wrong number.
*Click*, it was a number from amarica so I replied in English, "Hello mam or sir, I think you have the wrong nu-" Rebecca! I know what's going on! Get your ass to forks this instant! There was a 'Charlie you shouldn't do that.' If anything it sounded like Sam Uely the leader of the la push pack. The question was what did Charlie know? I really hoped it was something mild, and not vampires and shifter existence, because if that was the case, he would have to be changed or die really. There was only one other option, which was living in Volturi castle for the rest of his life, but I didn't want to make him chose any of these options.
"Um, Charlie? How did you get this number?" I asked naturally curious. Sam would only really know if someone from the Cullen clan gave Sam the phone number. If I had to guess, it was jake and now Charlie had it. There was a slight struggle with a bunch of 'I'm telling her what I think and you're not stopping me.' before he finally answered.
Oh that vampires exist and that I don't approve of your life choices. I mean killing for sustenance?! That's murder! And if you've been doing this for years think of how many you've brought to there deaths! How is that a good example for Reneesme or your kids?! You could have died from having the children alone!-
I thought this was where I needed to cut him off otherwise, I knew I would be in for a few hours of earful's, "Charlie! I'm not a vampire. I'm still very much human. I don't think you realize the entirety of the situation. I mean, when you say it like that it sounds bad but-" There's no but's in this! It's wrong!... I was extremely flustered about the situation. It was another example of if I chose my family over the law or not.
Why does this situation happen to me so often? "That would be because you have family other than Volturi members" Aro whispered to me, I hadn't realized him coming up from behind to comfort me, "You know what has to happen now right?" I knew from his tone he was trying to be sympathetic not just crushing the hopes I might have just heard wrong.
I pinched myself, ouch! Was my immediate thought. I guess I wasn't asleep then either. Oh why couldn't this have been a dream? Nightmare more like it but still? I sighed, "Charlie-" No, you're not interrupting me- "Charlie! I'll be in forks tomorrow." I hanged up then, and despite him trying to phone me a lot I ignored it and started crying.
Charlie deserved to live completely oblivious to the supernatural world and grow old stay with his wife Leah from the shifter pack. With there kid's chuck and mace, even if I never met them. Part of me always knew Charlie was suspicious, and that he would always have found out; but it still hurt knowing that I would handing out judgment.
I stopped crying wiping away the tears, and turned to Aro who was holding me, "I guess we should tell Marcus and Caius now." He nodded somberly, "If it makes you feel any better. You can stay out of the voting." I mustered a weak smile at him. It would make it easier, but this was a situation when I had to choose between what is right and what is easy. It wasn't like my vote would matter much anyway. Despite knowing how it would make me feel, my brothers and mate would vote him as guilty even if Aro would feel extremely conflicted.
"Thanks Aro, but you know I have to be a part of it." He sighed, he just wanted to protect me from things like this, "Let's not out this of any longer than it has to be, right?" I said as he helped me up, "If you're sure." I nodded, keeping in the tears that were threating to pool out again. He held me in bridal style. Even in this moment, I could appreciate everything about him, from his sleek hair and his delicate fingers, his eyes, and those luscious red lips.
After a bit too short of a trip for my tastes. He put me down right in front of a door. Right now, Marcus and Caius were with their mates together. They did say being alone with a new mate even after a decade or so was normal, so we usually spent time in the library or some other secluded area instead of together the six of us. I opened the door to see them looking confused, "We have to leave for forks. Charlie knows the secret." Whatever happy mood the room might have held dissipated immediately.
