Rebecca's Point of View
The first thing I realized upon waking up, was what we had done yesterday. I guess Aro was no longer horny, "Good morning." I chirped to him before getting up and realizing what today was, "Ugh, it's today isn't it?" I looked at Aro, he knew what day I meant.
'Today' was confirmed by a nod from him, "I'll go and get ready." After dealing with my morning hygiene. I got on the customary Volturi cloak, "You look beautiful." Aro said, "Aren't you bias?" I asked while he started to smirk, "Of course I'm bias, but that doesn't mean I'm not right." Quite true. With Aro behind me, I walked down the stairs to see Demetri and alec in and arm-wrestling competition with Felix.
"Two on one, isn't that a little unfair?" I teased. Felix, of course, went along with it using a sarcastic, "Did you sleep well?" he asked me with a smile. Sometimes I could see a resemblance Felix had of teddy. Of course, not all the time, but Felix was known to be extremely overdramatic in a lot of situations. And from what I've learned about teddy, he liked to be dramatic all the time. Trying to get him to under describe something is impossible and having Felix with teddy is sure to spell disaster. God knows Felix doesn't need a magical accomplice in his pranks. At least unless it's me.
"Dang it!" Alec and Demetri lost, "I could point out at least five penalty's you should have gotten in the span of the game. We should have won!" Jane obviously being the more mature sibling just watched her twin's antics amused, "Then why didn't you point them out when we were in game?" Felix always wins in these arm-wrestling competitions, and alec and Demetri always complain about the rules afterwards, "As much as this is adorable, we do have to hold trail today." Yet another reminder that today was trial day. This time from Caius, "I guess we'd better go then and get this over with."
Third Person Point of View
Charlie put his head in his hands. Mace and Leah had explained to him the whole point of secrecy and why he couldn't tell anyone. He still didn't understand why Leah was defending secrecy so fiercely though when he had said if vampires are known they would have to pay for their crimes.
Leah had just sighed at it and mouthed something like 'I wish'. Now though, he was waiting for his niece Rebecca to get to forks. Leah had told him about the Volturi in more depth than Sam did. Apparently now the vampire lawmakers were after him. Leah decided to stay in the house with him, as well as mace in an attempt to protect Charlie from them.
*ding! dong!* 'That's the door' he thought as he went to see who it was. Opening it, he saw his niece looking exactly like she had twelve years ago. Though she didn't have the red eyes that the other vampires in her group did.
"Charlie, can I at least explain my life choices before you give me an earful?" Rebecca was really hoping it could happen and Charlie just stood there waiting for it. Rebecca was actually a bit surprised Charlie allowed her to explain, but she wasn't going to wait for more confirmation, "I know you dislike murder; you've been a police officer for how many years I don't know." Rebecca thought she was rambling a bit, so she decided to get to the point.
"Either way, think of it like this. You do eat animals, and being a vampire and drinking blood is sort of like that. Except their prey can beg for mercy." Wow, she knew she wasn't explaining this well, "Um, I really don't know how to explain this to you." She had a chance to explain to Charlie, and now she couldn't get it out.
She looked down slightly ashamed, "I'm sorry, I just can't find a way to explain to you." She said while burying her face into Aro as she started crying. At first, Charlie felt like his niece had a lot of nerve for not only hanging up on him and living with a family of murderers, and then having them show up to his house's doorstep; but seeing her crying really made him lose his own nerve and he forgot his speech that he was going to give her before dyeing by the Volturi's hands.
She was crying, and dam him if he wasn't going to do something about it before his death. Without further delay, he grabbed her in a bear hug. Charlie had never been the one to openly show affection, finding it awkward as an introvert; but he knew the girl he felt was like a daughter to him needed it.
After they parted, Charlie barely noticed his shirt was a bit wet. She had been crying for a few minutes. Sighing he said, "I may not condone your life choices, but I really don't condone your choices. Still though, I don't want to see you crying." She knew that that was the biggest amount of outward affection Charlie could show and was quite touched, "Thanks Charlie."
"I still stand by what I said. I don't condone your life choices, and very much dislike those you now call family." He said looking judgingly at Marcus Caius and Aro, respectively.
