A/N: Okay, fee-b-be-bee is an onomatopoeia (a word that looks like a sound) for madame hooch's whistle.

Willa's Point of View
It was the day of the first competition, quidditch. Although at first, I didn't understand the point of doing it before tryouts were even held. I did hear a rumor that it would be a way to see what people had before tryouts. Some going even as far to say it replaced tryouts. Of course, I didn't know if it was true, but I still was going to give the competition my all.
So, after classes, I went to the quidditch pitch with will, Cristian, teddy, and Mary. Mary's competition already happened, and she made it to fourth place. Which I felt was a big achievement. If I could get in fourth, I would be happy. Teddy's competition would be tomorrow, just like the fourth years would be the day after his, "Hey Macey" I said after seeing her on the pitch, "I didn't know you wanted to be a part of the competition." She smiled scratching the back of her head awkwardly.
"I decided to do it last minute." That was wonderful, "Good luck!" I said. Then, I turned back to Cristian and hugged him, "Are you sure you don't want to be a part of this competition?" He nodded, "Wish me luck then." I said, turning to walk to the center of the pitch with will.
"I wish you the best of luck, the swiftest of brooms, the clearest-" I turned around still walking, but now walking backwards, "Thanks teddy, I'm guessing you have a whole speech, but I don't think everyone wants to hear it." Then I turned back around smiling. I would have loved to have him as an older brother. Though, growing up with him, I might have gone insane.
Madam hooch's whistle sounded. It seemed me and will made it to the pitch right on time, "Alright, the first thing I think needs to be done, is for all of you to do ten laps around the pitch. This will separate the people who can't fly at all, to those who barely can." It sounded reasonable me and will had no problem with it.
Though quite a few of those here couldn't fly and that showed. A few laps me and will touched down gracefully. Surprisingly in the front of group, "Brain, Liam, Mia, Detroit, leave, you can't even fly around the pitch." Those four were still in the air and hadn't finished five of the ten laps yet. They were actually quite wobbly in the air.
Cristian does way better than that, as long as he wasn't falling flat on his face. I should know because I saw some of his quidditch skills over the summer, "Okay, now that that's been taken care of, we have…" She ended up counting us for a moment, "Exactly seven participants! Wonderful! You'll be playing against the resident Slytherin team." Is this supposed to be a joke? I don't know will I'm not madame hooch.
"Marn, if you would get into formation with your team." After a pause she said, "Okay, and the rest of you chose who's who in your team." What? Why would we be playing against our house team to win the competition? "I call chaser" it was Marcy, "I'll be the other chaser." It was a boy in my classes. I never met him, but I think his name was Barty, "I call beater." I said excitedly. At least we were actually playing quidditch. "I'll be seeker." Will said coolly.
How do you do that? Do what? You know what. It comes to me naturally. I had to hold back a snort. I knew my brother enough that if we weren't in a public area, he would have made a flourish. He liked messing with me that way, "Chaser!" A girl with freckles said. I didn't know her either, neither did I know the boy who said, "I guess I'll take the keeper position." A bit huffy.
To me, the beater position was the best. You get to smash things in a certain direction the entire game, and the bludgers are trying to de-seat you while you do it. To me that sounded like fun. Will though, took after mom and wanted to be a seeker. Vampire eyesight for the win!
"Have you assigned your team roles? Good. Get in formation and at the sound of my whistle the game will start." We all got on our brooms. We didn't exactly have time to learn what the others were likely to do so we would be at a disadvantage. Not having the time to train and less experience were also a few disadvantages. If will could catch the snitch quickly though, we might actually win.
I went through everything I knew about being a beater for a split second. First the bludgers would go after anyone on a broom, and it's my job to beat them away from my team, also that I can send the bludgers at the other team, "fee-b-be-bee!" With that, the magical balls were released, and the game started.
I started by singling out a bludger and trying to find one of the weakest links. The seeker, despite watching everything in the case of finding a snitch, was the most targetable person so far. So, taking my bat, I took a swing and… aww! The seeker saw it and wasn't de-seated. Though it did brush up against him and he scowled at me.
The nerve! What did I ever do to him? Sending a bludger at him. Thanks will, I was being rhetorical. He made a mental 'okay' gesture and continued looking for the snitch. Even though he had vampire eyesight, he still hadn't caught sight of the snitch. I, of course, continued beating all the bludgers I could find at the other team. Eventually de-seating a chaser. The score was 10 to 140 by now. The 10 was obviously our team and will needed to catch the snitch soon or we would lose.
Well, well, well, I found it.
