Rebecca's Point of View

After taking Aro's hand yesterday and going back to the Cullen house, I ended up thinking about what chuck was like. He was five by now, and I knew Leah and mace disliked me for hanging out with 'leaches'; but I hoped Chuck liked me.

Now though I was going to get to meet him, and I was excited. I would even be able to show chuck some magic since I had yet to show Charlie. *ding dong!* After the doorbell rang, Charlie was ready and opened the door, "Hey Charlie!" I said while he let me in, and my family in grudgingly.

"Your my older cousin right?" Aww! Cuteness overload! Chuck had black hair and Charlie's eyes. It was sooo cute! With Leah's nose and face shape. His cuteness reminded me slightly of lily and will when they were young. Despite my protests, will didn't want me to call him cute.

"That's right." He grinned quite a lot at that, "I heard from dad that you are good at everything" I wasn't good at everything, just somethings, "Really?" He nodded, "Will you color with me?" Aww, I didn't want to say no, but we did have to talk to Charlie. Sometimes being an adult sucked, which is why I do some things that children at five do…

"Not right now because I have to talk to your dad." He looked so sad, "But, if you want, later I can show you something cool." That seemed to brighten him up. I so missed having a child in Volterra, "Chuck, why don't you go and talk to mommy for now?" Charlie said as he motioned towards the living room.

"Okay!" He said and left, probably to find Leah and bug her, "Now, about what we were discussing yesterday." He entered the kitchen and sat down while we followed him. I sat down in one of the other chairs because Aro Caius and Marcus really didn't mind standing for long periods of time, "I think first it needs to be proven magic actually exists."

Of course, it made sense, Charlie being a logical man needed proof. I wondered on what spell I should use and decided on Reducio. It would make whatever I pointed at shrink, so taking out my wand, I pointed it at the table, "Reducio" and it shrank. Charlie looked at it waved his arm around a bit then picked up the table I shrank.

"Um is there a way to make it normal sized?" Oh right, "Yeah, sorry. Engorgio" I said as I pointed to the table. It returned to normal size. Charlie, of course, touched it to make sure it was really back to its normal length and wasn't just a mirage, "Fine, I'm convinced magic exists, so I have a few questions. What is it that this Voldemort guy did exactly?" Well, that was an easy question, "Murder hundreds trying to take over wizarding Britain, nearly exposing magic to muggles and all for a chance at immortality-" It seemed with the way he cut me off he had a question, "But wait! I thought you vampires were immortal why not just become one of you?"

I sighed, "Well, a wizard becoming a vampire is different from a muggle. A witch or wizard could lose the magic that they possess, leading many who are turned to become suicidal. Tom, who is Voldemort by the way. Wouldn't have risked losing his magic for immortality. Besides, being a vampire doesn't exactly mean your immortal. You can still die by beheading and burning." For some reason I got the feeling that I answered two questions of his instead of one.

Either way, I continued, "Back to what I said. He wanted the chance at immortality by making horcruxes. Which, at it's very basic, is when someone stores part of their soul in an object, or the closest living thing if the spell to transfer that soul fragment is interrupted. Tom caused many people to be turned into werewolf's and vampires in an effort to take over ruining their lives." And… is there anything else he's done? I mean not to me specifically? Hmm… weird.

"That's it basically, though I could teach you a bit more about his strategies about coming to power if you want." He shook his head, "That won't be necessary. Back to the prophecy, why did they believe whoever said it? I mean no one can predict the future." He paused, "Right?"

"Technically, some people can. Though not all people in the wizarding world can get it. Alice is actually a seer. Though considering the fact she's so accurate, it's more than likely she had some prophet blood in her line that died out in surname due to inbreeding. Still, she wasn't the one who made the prophecy, it was a witch named Sybil Trelawney."

He looked confused and surprised, "Alice was a seer?" I just nodded. Not feeling the need to repeat what I just said, "Most seers and profits are considered fakes though, as most won't make their talents known, lest they be pursued and forced to help a side in a war."

"You make war sound like a constant occurrence?" It was a statement just said like a question, "Well keep in mind that there has been two wars in the last century. Though if you look before that, there hasn't been that many. Hopefully, there's not another one."

That would be terrible, but if it did happen vampires could stay neutral in the fighting. Meaning, I wouldn't have to worry about losing my family. I would invite my friends from the wizarding world over too so they wouldn't die either. And we would just live out our days while the war is going on.

It might be the cowards way out, but it was the safest, "You mentioned inbreeding?" I nodded, "Yeah, basically due to political arrangements, most purebloods are married off to their cousin's for 'blood purity.'" Charlie looked like he had loads of questions on inbreeding and he hadn't even gotten to the third question on the list he prepared yesterday.
