A/N: I'm just saying this now but I don't know why I decided the beater tryout would be so complicated especially when the others were simpler.

Willa's Point of View

There were three people including me that wanted to be a beater, and now the three of us were waiting for who Marn would tell to tryout first, "Alright, willa you first." He motioned for me to take one of the bats beaters use, and then to take off, of which I did.

"Okay, basically, this is a test of how accurately you can hit a bulger, how fast, and well you can avoid them." Marn said casting a spell that made flying targets appear. Ooooh! That was cool! How do I do that? Your about to tryout, and you're wondering about his spell work? Hey! You obsessed about a potion for the course of a semester. I have a right to wonder about some spell work.

Didn't you obsess with me? He said through the bond before flashing a bunch of memories in his head. Of which I saw from me pouring over books with him about what Flamel was making. It wasn't my fault your obsession was getting to me! Not the other way around.

Before we could continue our mental argument, Marn released two bludgers, "Hit ten targets and the tryout is over. Get hit and de-seated by one of the bludgers your tryout is over. Every minute a new bulger is added." Well, this sounded fun, either hit ten bludgers into targets, or end up in the hospital wing and fail the tryout.

I knew for certain Marn could shoot as many bludgers as needed into the air. There was literally a whole bunch of them secured on the pitch. I started wondering why I didn't think much of them when I entered the pitch while I dodged one of the bludgers that came my way. Hitting one in the direction of a target. The originally stationary target moved surprisingly.

I'm really going to obsess about the spell work after this. I knew that I would pestering Marn about the spell work until he told me. I started to fly into the direction of one of the bulgers. The bulger obviously started to come my way after I cam close to it and I hit it at another one of the targets. This one didn't move oddly and turned green.

"Oh, and did I forget to mention that some of the targets represent your team as well as the others represent the other team?" Yes, he most certainly did, "The ones that are a part of our team will turn green afterwards, and that takes away one of your points you have to hit elven targets now." Why was this dude making it so hard? I think this was a tryout that wasn't supposed to be passed. It was so much more complicated than the others!

Still, I had to think about this. I had been in the air for about a minute so Marn was going to add a new one in. I guessed that more than just hitting a 'teammate' was similar to the actually game of quidditch, if this was true. Than the bludgers would also gravitate towards the targets; and if it was just my luck they wouldn't gravitate towards the 'other teams' target. Which in hindsight actually made it easier to tell which was which.

If it was true at least, "I'm adding a bulger in." Well no kidding. It went straight towards me after released into the air, so I dodged and beat it in a direction of a target but not directly at it. What happened was the bulger tried to leave the area. Meaning that I was probably right.

Why did I have to be right about this? I don't know, but this is interesting to watch. The other two beaters are close to shitting themselves right now, thinking this is what they have to do later. Leave it to will to make me feel better in the weirdest of situations using the weirdest of tactics.

"You know you can quit right?" Quit?! Was this the point of a beater tryout!? "No thanks Marn!" I shouted down to him. It was actually kind of fun, even if dangerous. I would still be able to hit a bulger, just I'll have to think about it a bit more. Either way, I remembered which one the bulger curved around not to hit, so I closed in on a bulger and sent it at the target. Hitting it a bit harder than what was necessary, but it made the ball go faster. Not that I was complaining, it hit the target turning it red. It faded soon afterwards.

"You've hit one congratulations." Marn said, "Oh, and before I forget. There's another rule." Why is Marn adding so many rules? Aren't the ones that exist already hard enough? Apparently not, "You can't use a target you hit until you hit two more targets."

At least the 'team' ones I hit would still stay green. I was craving to know the spell work behind this. Will, can you maybe ask him for me? A snort from him and me hitting a bulger at a target later he said sure to me and started making his way to Marn.

"Another bulger has been added." Two minutes, not bad since I only had ten targets left. The bulger this time gravitated towards the target, so I had to dive in as fast as I could and hit it away at a different target. Which provided the same result. Sighing, I repeated the prosses. Of course, this one curved away, so I hit it with a bulger, and it turned red. Only nine more targets left to go, "Another bulger has been added." Three minutes in and I felt like I could do this forever. Let's hope it stayed this way because I definitely wasn't looking forward to being in the hospital wing, or worse, failing this.
