Bella's Point of View

This wasn't fair! Charlie had already grounded me for what happened! He couldn't ground me a second time! And Rebecca had given Charlie the phone how could she sell me out like that?! Either way Carlisle sided with Charlie, so I had to get everything together in my just unpacked travel bag. I thought I would have more time to be alone with Edward while Reneesme was in school, not going back to Volterra after just a year.

Right now, I was at the Italian terminal, waiting for one of the Volturi guards to come and pick me up. I was with Edward, and Emmett decided last minute to tag along, so now Rosalie's here too, "The Cullen's right?" It was a Volturi guard I had seen before, I never learned his name though, "Yes" Edward said holding me closer.

The guard gave me a slightly sympathetic look, "I heard the phone call." Vampire hearing was so invasive, he shouldn't have been trying to eavesdrop, "Come on." He said leading the way to a limo. It took an hour to get to Volterra last time, so when I got in the car, I got out a book. I probably could have finished it in a few seconds, but it was my last piece of reading material.

An hour later we were at Volturi castle. Rebecca was there coming in for a hug from all of us, skipping over Edward, "I'm glad you're here." She said while hugging me, "Even if the circumstances aren't ideal." Part of me wondered if everything that's happened in the last two days was a plan she came up with; but she couldn't have come up with something like that.

"Where's Charlie?" I asked not opting for dad since he wasn't in the general vicinity, "He's in the castle, and you really should start calling him dad." She had an odd expression on her face, I dismissed this and listened for a heartbeat. There was a collection in one of the area's, which if I remembered the interior correct, would be the receptionist area.

There were three heart beats in another area, it was around the guest housing, which confused me. I couldn't hear a lone heartbeat, Edward must have seen my confusion because he said, "The collection of three heartbeats is Charlie, Leah, and chuck." Odd, I thought Charlie would have been alone most of the time. The fact he had Leah, a shifter with him. It didn't make any sense. No shifter would make themselves stay in the vampire capital of the world, and I had no idea who chuck was, but I wasn't sure how Charlie stayed with two other people, he was so anti-social.

"You know," Rebecca said while leading us in, "You have met Leah, but you haven't met chuck! So this is actually a wonderful opportunity to meet your half-brother." What!? I had a half-brother? "You look so surprised." She said. Edward Rosalie and Emmett were looking at me weirdly.

"I didn't know I had a half-brother!" She looked confused and then excited, "Then it's definitely time to meet him." She paused, "They do say the best prize, is a surprise." What did I do to get a prize? And wait, "Half-brother? Who did Charlie hook up with?" She answered with a simple 'Leah'.

After a small awkward silence, Rebecca broke it up, "Well this just means that there's a lot of stories you can tell! I know I'm not even close to catching up with all the small stories that happened in between letters." Why hasn't this been brought up the last time we were here? I really didn't know.

"Okay, you guys can get settled and talk to Charlie later." I could see her want to get back to Aro, "The hallway on the left, doors two and three on the right, are there for your use, and Emmett I expect to see you in the rec room in a little while." Emmett was grinning at that statement. I guessed they would be doing something fun while I was supposed to be tried and executed by Charlie. It really wasn't fair.

Taking my belongings, I entered Edwards and I's shared room I put it down and immediately found myself next to Charlie. In a split second I was attacked by an at least nine foot tall wolf, Leah's form. Pushing her off of me, I stood up and brushed myself off.

I must have pushed her off to hard, because she was literally sliding to the floor. Charlie instead of checking to see if I was okay. Went over to Leah and helped her up before my half brother started crying. He looked scared, I had no idea why.

"Bella, why did you hurl you mother in law at a wall?" I made a surprised noise, "She was the one who attacked me!" and Charlie sighed trying to calm down chuck wasn't he even going to ask if I was okay? "Why don't you take chuck to the rec room I think Rebecca said she'd be there after letting Bella in."

After she left, baby in her mouth as she was still a wolf. I was now alone with Charlie, unless there was another vampire in the room, and they were great at concealing themselves, "Bella, about your trip to Italy. I get you did it to save Edward, but Edward shouldn't have gone to the Volturi in the first place. It could have all been avoided! So, your grounded. You have to stay in Volterra with nothing to do for as long as I see fit."

As long as he sees fit could be forever! And I would be alive long enough to see it! "But that's not fair! Char- dad you've probably not heard the story from the right point of view." He gave me a look that said I was only making it worse, "Just feeding and staying in a bedroom for you." After a pause he said, "And Edward has to leave" What?!
