William's point of View
It was the day after the potion competition. The competition went well, and I scored first place after brewing a perfect strengthening solution. That meant like the quidditch competition, and care of magical creatures competition, I would eventually be facing off with the other houses.
Right now me and teddy were walking through the second east corridor. We were basically walking over to where lily and Cristian were outside, "Oh, great, another rock." I looked around and saw no one. I guessed because of that fact, that they were either ahead or behind us in the corridor and I continued talking with teddy.
"So, how do you feel? After all, after impressing snape, who is there to impress?" Teddy had been continuously teasing me about the fact snape actually complemented me the day before yesterday, "Are you going to keep bringing it up if I tell you?" He smirked, "Of course no- snake!"
He cut off abruptly because he saw a snake curled around a rock. He actually tried pulling me back from it a bit, probably trying to keep me from being bitten, "Teddy?" I said my voice dripping with sarcasm, "You do realize I'm a parslamouth right?" He just continued trying to tug me away. Part of me wondered if the snake was who said, 'oh great another rock'. So, I decided to as it.
"Did you say, 'oh great another rock' before?" It almost seemed to nod, in that odd was snowy did, "Yes, so you're one of the other parslamouths?" I blinked in surprise, other parslamouths? There were other parslamouths at school?! "There are others?" The snake nodded again and then said, "Oh, wait, I should not have said that. I really shouldn't have. Sorry, bye!"
It tried to move a bit after that but before it could get far, or I could try to grab it for answers. I heard Mrs. Finnegan come up from behind us in the corridor, and she saw the snake, "Vipera evanesca!" She said pointing her wand at the snake. Of which ended up disappearing.
"Can I ask what happened?" her usual smile not on her face, "We found the snake while we were planning to go outside. Can I talk to headmistress McGonagall? I have something I think she needs to hear." Putting her wand away, she said, "Is it something you can tell me?"
"Um, when I was talking to the snake, it said that there was another parslamouth" She looked surprised, "Why don't the both of you go outside, I can tell McGonagall about this myself."
"I know she's busy, but can I tell her myself? I do know all the details." She narrowed her eyes, "Does that mean there's something you've not told me?" I shook my head, "No, it's just usually, I like being the one to tell someone. That way I know it's been done; you know that old saying to do stuff yourself?"
She sighed, "Okay, but I do expect you not to run into anymore snakes. They seem to follow you around." she added the last bit humorously, "I'll go with you." Teddy said, and she looked between the both of us, "okay" she said, before continuing down the corridor she came.
Wait, why did she come down this corridor if she was just going to leave back the way she came? I sent the mental message to lily that we would not be coming, and that they should probably make their own plans.
"Come on, let's go and tell McGonagall that I have once again found myself in an odd situation." This was seriously getting ridiculous. First, first year comes around and I'm kidnapped for a potion. Now I've been in the same corridor at the same time someone had been petrified. Accused of trying to murder someone, and now I learn that there was in fact another parslamouth in the school. This year just can't get worse.
"Do you think someone's trying to frame you?" Teddy said, he had been silent for abut five minutes while we were walking to headmistress McGonagall's office, "Why would you think that?" I asked him, "Because, think about it. You said the snake said there was another parslamouth besides you and lily. If that's true, then whoever they are probably told a snake to bite Ashla! If anything it was probably that snake that did it!"
Well, I had not thought about that, "Huh," And if I remember correctly, Ashla was talking to her friends about how it's not hard to put a toad under a chicken egg, "Teddy," I said stopping, "Do you think whoever it is also created a basilisk? I mean that would explain how someone was petrified. It might even be a first year who's behind all of this."
He looked thoughtful for a moment, "Then why would they target you?" It was an interesting question to say the least, one I wasn't sure I had the answer for, "It could be Ashla." I shook my head in a definite no, "No, as much as she may hate us, I don't think she would either have the brain cells to come up with this, or the guts to carry it out. She wouldn't even have enough reason to."
I took a breath, "She may be hateful to us, but she's not a murderer." I knew that she did start spreading rumors, about us specifically that we may or may not have created a basilisk, but a murderer she was not.
"Wait if it was a basilisk, then how did mark not die when he was petrified?" We actually didn't know how mark was found, so if he was found with some form of reflective surface. It might really be a basilisk. We stood at the entrance to McGonagall's office for a little while before it started moving, "Mr. Weasley, Mr. Volturi, why are you outside my office? and looking quite grim too."
