Kakashi didn't see it coming.

A hand grasped his shirt, pulling him into an alleyway and slamming him into the brick wall. His back groaned in pain, the wall beneath him cracked pushing sharp splinters against his spine.

"Why are you following my sister around?" The hand in his shirt loosened and Kakashi pulled himself together, leaning against the wall with an air of nonchalance that hid his racing mind.

He hadn't sensed her. There was nothing, no smell, no shift in the air around him. He took his time answering, dragging his eyes over the girl's form.

Tall and thin with pale, pink hair—too bright for a shinobi—that was pulled into a sloppy ponytail. One shoulder peeked out from the loose shirt she wore. The slight breeze ruffled her hair carrying her scent over to him, a hint of peaches and mint. He wondered how she had hidden it earlier. She didn't look like a threat, but shinobi were trained to blend in.

"ANBU?" he questioned. There was no way a chuinin could hide their chakra signature like that. Her strength didn't match her height and weight. Though, he mused, he'd seen ninja do far more with a lot less.

"My sister. What do you want with her?" she asked again. Her eyes narrowed, the green darkening in the low light. He didn't need his sense of smell to tell that she was upset. He bit back the smile that cropped up against her anger. She looked less like a threat and more like an angry kitten.

"Maa, kunoichi-san," he pushed himself off the wall, dusting off his flak-jacket. "She's my student, there's no need for the anger."

"There's no need for the stalking either," she snapped back. Kakashi shrugged and reached into his jacket to pull out his book. He might as well get to the next chapter while he was getting scolded.

"Are you serious?" Her voice was incredulous, jaw ticking in annoyance.

Kakashi's eye curled into a false smile. "Hmmm."

Icha-Icha ripped out of his hands, flying as if on an invisible string toward Sakura's sister. He should ask for her name, but the idea of putting effort into what is obviously an assault left a bad taste in his mouth.

"You can have this back when you apologize for stalking an 11-year-old. And for trying to break into my apartment." She waved the book threateningly, shoulders tight and tense. He blinked at her in surprise but made no movement to take the book from her.

Her eyes ran over him for a moment, the scowl on her face deepening. Her nails, he noticed, are painted a light lavender. Cold eyes dismiss him/ Sakura's sister spun in place. A sharp crack like lightening stricking against stone sounded and she disappeared.

Kakashi leaned against the wall, letting out a deep groan.
