Prompt : I love your stories where Finnick tries to make Haymitch jealous by flirting with Effie. Could you please write one where Johanna tries to make Effie jealous by flirting with Haymitch? I hope you'll do it. Thank you!

Green Eyed Monster

"That's going to end badly." Finnick declared, following his friend through the crowd.

Johanna tossed him a glare over her shoulder. "Don't tell me you're afraid of the bitch?"

"Effie has eight inches heels and very sharp nails." he retorted, insisted on the name. "Of course, I'm scared of her. Any sensible person would be scared of her."

"A bet's a bet." Jo shrugged as they reached the corner of the party where Effie was busy lecturing Chaff and Haymitch on their overconsumption of alcoholic beverages – and where Haymitch was busy telling her to get lost. Still, Finnick couldn't help but notice both perked up when they saw them approach.

Until Johanna made a beeline for Haymitch that was.

"Flirt, Jo!" Finnick hissed at his friend between his teeth. "I dared you to flirt not to..."

Too late.

Jo grabbed Haymitch's face and pulled him in a kiss that made him wince. First, there was obviously tongue involved. Second, he had said flirt not start a war. Chaff chuckled and whistled but Effie was far from being amused.

She was gaping in a very unladylike manner and when Jo finally let Haymitch go she glared at the young victor like she wanted to nail her high heel in a particularly painful place.

"What was that for?" Haymitch sputtered.

Finnick couldn't say if he was pleased or disturbed by the kiss but he could tell that it wasn't the right reaction to have. Effie huffed.

"Appalling." the escort hissed. "Absolutely appalling."

Jo licked her lips and winked at her. "Tasty."

Effie huffed once more, glared at Johanna, glared at Haymitch and hurried away, all the while muttering obscenities Finnick wasn't aware she knew.

"Trinket..." Haymitch called after her. When she didn't pause or turn, he pushed himself up and staggered after her.

"Well, that wasn't as funny as I thought it would be." Jo declared. "I need a drink."

She disappeared in the crowd and Finnick flopped on the chair Haymitch had just vacated.

"Got bored of making Haymitch jealous, boy?" Chaff snorted. "Wanted to test the other way around?"

Finnick winced. "I didn't think she would react that way."

"Yeah... Thing is..." Eleven's victor scoffed. "He knows she's not interested in you. I'm not sure she knows he doesn't have the hots for Jo."

"I got him in trouble, didn't I?" Finnick sighed.

"Stroke of luck she didn't try to murder Johanna if you ask me." he chuckled. "That woman's a piece of work."

"Maybe I should go and explain..." he hesitated. He didn't want to distress Effie... He liked having fun by mocking Twelve's team and their incapacity to either admit or see the obvious attraction between them but he had never wanted to hurt either of them.

"Nah..." Chaff scoffed. "They like it that way. I bet you he has her pinned to the elevator wall already."

He made a face. That was something he didn't want to consider.
