Hi! So some of you may know, I'm leaving tomorrow on a trip so that will be the last prompt until the 12th of October. I will come back on the 9th with brand new Invictus chapter (if you don't follow Invictus now is your chance to catch up ;) ) I will miss you all!

Sharing A Tomb

He leans against the doorframe of the guest room and watches her, wishing she would just snap at him about manners and how rude staring is. She doesn't say anything though, she hardly does nowadays, she remains curled up on her side on the bed, under the pile of blankets, lost to a world of memories he has no access to.

His house has always felt like a tomb where he has buried himself alive after his victory. He has never thought she would share his untimely grave. On the very rare occasions he has thought of her living with him, he has thought she would bring life and light and her insufferable cheerfulness with her.

She used to be a hurricane, now she is just a shell.

She wanders around the house like a ghost. She never goes out. She rarely talks. She barely pretends she's fine for the kids.

It would be easier if she picked up the bottle or her sleeping pills. It would mean she wants to cope, to survive.

She doesn't survive.

She doesn't live.

She's just there.

She exists.

She's dead inside.

And it kills him.
