Morning Routine
"We will be late." Effie grumbled, glaring at him in the mirror. "Damn you and your urges."
In the shower, Haymitch rolled his eyes, flicking his wet hair back before turning the water off. He hadn't heard her protesting too much when he had woken her up by dropping kisses on her inner thighs, she had been eager then.
"Cinna and Portia will take care of the kids." he mumbled. "And we won't get to Six before noon. We're fine."
"We will miss breakfast and they will ask questions." she retorted.
Nobody would ask questions because that Victory Tour was a Victory Tour from hell and they all felt the need for some alone time now and then. They could pass the fact they were both missing at the same time as a coincidence.
He stepped out of the shower and grabbed her towel, ignoring her rebukes about putting water everywhere.
"You've got clothes for me in here?" he asked. She always did nowadays. He tended to fall asleep in her room – that was new and he didn't quite knew what to make of it – and after the first two walks of shame sneaking out of her compartment at dawn, she had decided it was safer to be prepared.
She ignored him, too busy applying a pink eyeliner on her eyelid. He didn't like it when she didn't pay attention to him. He couldn't help himself, he nudged her elbow.
She gasped when she missed her target and found herself with a huge pink line on her temple. She gasped and then she glared, her make-up ruined. He couldn't help but chuckle, which made her glare harder.
"Careful, Princess." he mocked. "Keep looking at me like that and you're not going to leave this bathroom any time soon."
She looked at him up and down, her eyes lingering on the drops of water still running down his chest, with obvious lust.
"I hate you." she declared.
"Right back at you, sweetheart." he smirked with some fondness. "Right back at you."
