The couple got up the next morning and were planning their next moves. They had decided now has to be the time everyone got together. They were still on a time limit to stop the end of the world and Five needed his family together. Amber was still out of it; Joanna being Maude's sister and Maude's façade being exposed really made Amber beside herself. Had her whole life before meeting Five truly been manipulated by Maude…it had to be Amber thought. Joanna wouldn't lie to her and Maude had shown to be a liar before…it still didn't make this whole scenario any better for her. Amber sighed deeply, laying her back on the bed and just got lost in her thoughts. Five turned to his wife and couldn't stand to see her down. He sat beside her, stroking her hand.
"Amber you can't wallow all day. Doomsday aside, you need to push forward." Five encouraged strongly.
"Least your father was always honest…I can't even be confident in my past anymore. Should I even hated my parents because Maude's powers are just so strong and she knew what she wanted? I hated that I was seen as a tool for her delusional visions and that she groomed me to need and love her."
Five sighed since he really didn't want Amber to go down this road again.
"Please Amber snap out of this. Think about today and what we are doing. I mean…we are having a slight celebration."
Amber did stiffen a chuckle but also smiled.
"You're serious about the small party? Thought doomsday was first and foremost?"
It was Five thought to himself but he needed to give some joy in his wife's heart. Amber's warmth needed to be maintained and he didn't want her to linger on vengeance and doubt at the current moment. Also, a small part of him wondered what she had gotten for everyone.
"It will be, but I think everyone can get a kick out of it. Maybe make us a bit like a family again."
Amber rose up and smiled softly.
"Lovely sentiment…I need a soak though. Hopefully no one will mind…just hope Elliot has bubbles that are a pleasant fragrance or Lila got some before leaving."
Five nodded as they left Elliot's room. Amber could hear the kitchen stove being used and was a bit shocked to see Luther.
"You know I thought I would see Vanya before seeing you gorilla boy." Amber quipped.
Luther's ears heard that and turned around to see Amber. Instead of responding angrily, he oddly was a bit at ease.
"I was thinking when I would see you. Odd when Five came by to see me you weren't at his side. Was thinking the worst for a bit."
Amber raised an eyebrow and actually felt care for Luther, if slight.
"Worst as in?" she asked.
"You know, you wising up and leaving Five. He had more of an attitude without you and that's saying something since he's always been an asshole." Luther commented.
Amber scoffed.
"It will take more than a few arguments to have me leave Five. Besides I needed to work some things out…still kind of do." Amber explains.
Diego rolled into the kitchen to check what was in the fridge. They were out of eggs and he glanced at Luther and he was cooking a whole lot of them.
"Jesus, Luther I get you being bigger than the rest of us and you like protein, but you could have left us some eggs." Diego said with annoyance.
"Hey you snooze you lose." Luther replied.
Amber found their little exchange nice but shook her head.
"If any of you guys need to take a leak, use the alley. Bathroom is off limits." Amber told them.
Diego seemed okay with that but Luther was a bit annoyed.
"What the hell Amber!?"
Amber rolled her eyes. Still as reactive as always.
"I need to soak Luther…long night physically and emotionally. My back is killing me." Amber stated with arms crossed.
Luther at first looked to Five and he responded,
"Amber and I ran into more people from our old work and they threw her against the wall."
Luther's eyes widened and looked to Diego, who nodded.
"Oh god Amber….um…sorry." Luther commented.
"Yes and I had a small fallout with a friend…. kind of can use a soak to refresh myself. I know this is a bad thing to mention to Diego but did Lila buy some bubble bath?"
Diego nodded.
"Think there are some floral ones for you to use." Diego added.
"Thank you. I'll make myself some toast before we head out to get stuff for our party." Amber tells Five.
Luther raised an eyebrow at that and he asked,
"Party?"
Five nodded.
"Yes, a small one. Amber wants to give everyone their belated birthday presents. We still have to discuss dad and the apocalypse but some presents won't dampen the mood."
Both Luther and Diego were kind of taken aback by that but it was a nice thought of Amber to want this.
Amber left the guys and made herself a bath. She looked under the sink to see there was a honeysuckle bubble bath. Least it wasn't lavender since that was what Cruella le Bitch loved. She put the bubbles in the warm water and slowly got in. The hot water was doing wonders for Amber as she let out a pleasant moan when the water reached her back. The bubbles and warm water made Amber feel at ease at first but soon her thoughts went dark. She wasn't mad at Joanna but at Maude.
She sighed as she closed her eyes, soon thinking of maybe just ending this whole thing before it starts. Strangling, burning, slitting her throat…a lot of ways to have Maude suffer and pay Amber thought. Those thoughts however made Amber open her eyes and shake her head. She can't do anything yet since who knows if time will unravel. Any changes matter, and Maude being killed now can have devastating consequences. Timelines were tricky too since who knows if they were still on the timeline that will lead to their 2019 anymore. Would killing her not make Amber cease? Would killing her actually make her fade since there will be no reason to time travel if parents loved her…
"Calm down Amber." She told herself and warmed up the bath again with her powers.
The more she tried to understand time, the more it hurt and the less sense it made. She sighed and stroked her temples with her fingers. She didn't want to continue to feel like shit and she needed to look at the certainties rather than temporal what ifs. Few things were certain; she didn't need Maude's love or approval anymore, she arguably will have a second chance at a better life, and she will have a better family then what she had before. Those thoughts made her feel better and she had to let go of the pain and hurt she had in her heart for Maude. What had been done, was done and as much as she wants to change that, she can't. She needed to focus on her future, a day at a time. This meant family reunion, presents, and doomsday news. Typical Umbrella Academy affair she thought.
Amber got out of her bath, wrapped herself in a towel and changed into a blue long-sleeved dress with black stockings, dress shoes, and a blouson jacket. When Amber got back to the kitchen, she made herself some toast with her fire powers.
"God I missed making toast this way." Amber said in a chipper tone.
Diego chuckled and asked,
"Is it better than using a toaster like a normal person?"
Amber nodded as the bread slices turned a perfect golden brown. She slabbed on a good amount of butter on her four slices and munched on them happily. Five watched with a slight smile on his face while drinking his coffee. Luther raised an eyebrow and asked,
"Mind making me some toast?"
Amber chuckled and teased,
"I don't have the time to make the amount you'd want. I need to go get some streamers and cake before we are going to pick up Klaus."
Five raised an eyebrow and Amber added,
"He's with Allison, he kind of drunkenly flamed talk to me at her place but thankfully Allison took his fire source away. Whatever happened since my visit led him off the wagon again. Shame, three years down the toilet." Amber sighed as she munched away on her toast.
"He was sober for three years…wow I'm impressed." Luther said with a mouthful of eggs.
Amber rolled her eyes and added,
"I really wish we come together as a family and not kick Klaus when he falls."
"Yeah well you didn't grow up with him." Diego mentioned softly.
"Maybe not but his powers take a toll. Wish people can understand his torment at times. Anyway, we shall be back. Who's getting Vanya?" Amber asked.
Luther raised his hand and Amber sighed. Diego was still wanted from escaping a mental hospital so sadly Luther going was to be expected.
"Just don't knock her out again." Amber warned.
"I won't." Luther grumbled, stuffing his face.
Amber finished her toast and left with Five. Their shopping trip was short to pick up streamers and three cakes. The drive to Allison's peaceful and Five knocked on the door. Allison opened the door to see Five and she cracked a smile.
"Five….It's good to see you." Allison spoke softly.
Five nodded and peeked inside to see Klaus was passed out on the couch. Good one less trip he thought.
"Get Klaus up and we need to get going. We have news to share and Amber has cake and presents for you all."
Allison raised an eyebrow and asked,
"What are we celebrating?"
Five chuckled,
"It's November so we all missed a birthday as a family in this year. She doesn't want that day to be glossed over. Now can you please get Klaus awake, we don't want the cakes to melt in the trunk."
Allison nodded and soon after she and Klaus were in the back of the car. Amber looked back to them with a warm smile and Klaus reciprocated with his own smile.
"Hey Amber….I know you're going to be mad…"
"Explain to me later since my mood is already a bit dashed Klaus. Least it's hard to be upset with cake and gift giving." Amber interrupted.
Klaus placed a hand on his heart and awed.
"Even with us not speaking and you mad at my cult….you still got me a little something, something. You really nabbed a winner of a wife Five." Klaus complimented.
Five just grinned and nodded as he drove them back to Elliot's. Amber smiled a bit as she got the streamers from the car trunk. She might have gone overboard and got a lot more streamers than needed but she didn't care.
"One of you get the cakes please? I need to get this place party ready." Amber said with pep in her voice.
Five chuckled as he got out of the car.
Amber ran inside and started to put up streamers on the TV display and stair railings. When she got to the top of the stairs she put more streams on the guardrail. Diego popped in and chuckled at the multi-colored streamers.
"Didn't peg you to be so…. colorful." Diego grinned.
Amber chuckled.
"Either help with the streamers or get the cakes from the car trunk Diego. Allison, Klaus, and Five are coming in. Is Vanya here?"
Diego didn't have to as Vanya showed up in the living room. Amber cracked a small smile since she knew from Five's talks she lost her memory. Vanya had a look of confusion on her face but asked,
"You're….my sister in law right? Amber?"
Ah good Five did bring her up. Amber stopped what she was doing and gave Vanya a hug. She was taken aback by how warm Amber felt but she hugged her tenderly.
"It's finally nice to see you again, Vanya. I missed you so much. How are you holding up here?" she asked.
"Decent…working as a nanny on a farm. You?"
"Bookstore. Let me look over you Vanya if I may?" Amber asked.
Vanya nodded as she pulled away and Amber examined her. Amber felt Vanya's forehead and she seemed in good health. She looked much better, had some color to her cheeks, and wasn't as subdued as she had been back in 2019.
"I'm glad you're better, Vanya. Hope you will still like my gift even though its meaning will be kind of lost maybe." Amber mentioned as she resumed to put streamers all over the house.
Luther came out and noticed Amber's abundance of streamers and chuckled. It was hard to imagine Amber was an old woman and yet her spirit and behavior were that of an excitable teen. Diego came back to the house with three cakes and he carefully brought them up the stairs. Luther took the cakes from Diego to help and Amber motioned Diego to keep an eye on Luther. Vanya went downstairs to say hello to Klaus and Allison and the three of them shared a hug before noticing the streamers.
"Wow Amber does love streamers." Allison commented.
"Be thankful she only got streamers. Imagine if I let my wife get more than this, this will look like…"
"A clown's crack house?" Klaus teased.
That made them all chuckle and Amber called out,
"Heard that Klaus, not nice! Get up here before Luther eats all the cake!"
"Hey now who's not being nice!" Luther yelled.
"Oh come off it Luther, why else would I need to buy three cakes! Sure enough your one slice counts as three at least!" Amber exclaimed.
Everyone got up and they wondered if Ben was still with them. Klaus was able to summon Ben back in 2019 so it was a thought on everyone's mind.
"Klaus is Ben here?" Five asked
"No unfortunately ghosts can't time travel" Klaus said with chuckle
"Are you kidding me?" Ben asked, of course no one but Klaus heard him.
Amber knew that was a lie. When Klaus did a certain high pitched chuckle that was him lying. Amber didn't understand why Klaus would do this but she wasn't please
" Klaus." Amber said, crossing her arms. Klaus waved her off playfully.
"I'm kidding, he's sitting on the chair behind Allison." Klaus said. After a while Everyone got upstairs and sat down. Elliot left as to give the family some privacy.
" Alright , first off I want to say I am sorry. I really screwed us with this whole jumping in time. Now before I actually get to the reason why we are here….my wife wants to take a bit of time to celebrate.
Amber smiled as she ran into Elliot's room to get the presents. Meanwhile everyone got a slice of cake and sat down as a family.
"So should we share how old everyone is now since us landing in different times probably makes us all different ages at least finally." Klaus chuckled.
Luther fell a bit slightly and he cursed,
"Shit, Klaus is actually right….isn't he Five?"
Five nodded.
"Age becomes nothing but a number after a while so who really gives a shit. Let's not think about that now and just focus on having a good time for a short time before I share my news."
Most of the siblings knew it had to be the end of the world but they were just as curious about what Amber had gotten for everyone. She emerged from the room with wrapped gifts of varying sizes. She flashed them all a smile as she settled the boxes on the table.
"Alright, who wants to go first?" Amber laughed softly.
Klaus wasted no time and found the box with his name on it. No one seemed surprised Klaus made the first move and he opened his present quickly. He opened the box to see some nice floral bath soaps, rainbow socks, and a cute little silver charm in the shape of a flame. He smiled softly when it came to the charm.
"Thought you would want a small piece of me with you along with your tags." Amber mentioned softly.
"Thanks Amber, I will put this on. As for the other gifts; can't wait to use these bath soaps and very colorful socks, they will suit me well." Amber got up and gave Klaus a warm hug.
"You're not alone Klaus okay." Amber told him.
"I know it's just so hard what I've been through…I will talk about it later okay." Klaus explained.
Amber had a slight feeling on what it could be about but she rather Klaus brought it up. Amber looked for a specific box and tossed it to Diego.
"You know what it is already but hope you still like it."
Diego grinned as he opened up his new Swiss army knife. Luther chuckles a bit.
"Oh sure, give Diego another knife, Amber. Real smart." Luther joked.
Diego glared at Luther as he saw the many parts of it.
"Hey she knows what I like and this means a lot Amber, thanks." Diego spoke softly.
"And clearly you know why I couldn't give it on our birthday proper; guards would take it for sure."
Diego playfully shrugged.
"I probably would have retrieved it in my escape if I could but thanks Amber. I do love this." Diego smiled.
Amber got up to hug Diego and Five felt slightly jealous. Klaus saw this and he chuckled.
"Worried Diego is going to steal your wife?" Klaus joked.
"No worries Five; I see her like Vanya and Allison, a sister." Diego spoke in a sincere tone.
Five nodded and Amber pulled away to get Luther his present. Luther raised an eyebrow and gently shook the box. Amber rolled her eyes, crossing them slightly.
"Be thankful I got you anything Luther. Now open up."
Luther slowly opened the wrapping paper since he honestly wasn't expecting anything special. He opened the box and honestly he probably wished Amber probably didn't get him anything. He pulled out the gorilla mask and gave a slight glare.
"Bit on the nose don't you think Amber, bit cold of you actually." Luther argued.
"Be thankful there weren't any jackass masks for what you did to Vanya. You might like the other two things, much more practical and useful."
Luther put the mask aside and saw a large packet of medical gauze and several peanut butter protein bars. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't what he thought Amber would give. Plus he actually likes protein bars and there were a lot of them in the box. The gauze he could understand since he was fighting for Jack Ruby until recently so maybe so care in that gift.
"Thanks for the gauze…even though I stopped the fighting."
"Still could be useful and the bars…well thought you could always use something to replenish after your workouts. I know not the best, we're still kind of at odds Luther." Amber bluntly told him.
Luther just nodded and Allison got her gift next. She opened it to reveal a silk tangerine colored scarf. Allison smiled a bit and didn't think Amber would get her something nice.
"I didn't know if you would ever speak again and not sure how horrible the scar would be. Safest bet too since…we haven't gotten on the best of feet."
Allison nodded but trailed her fingers over the scarf. Even now they had a small conflict over Allison marrying too soon and Amber's marriage trouble. Still, Allison was slowly warming up to Amber since she did show to care for most of her siblings.
"Yes we will need to work on that Amber, but I love it. Thank you."
They didn't share a hug since things were a bit off between them. Vanya found a small box with her name on it and opened it to show a silver music note necklace. She looked over her fingertips that had calluses and asked,
"Was I a musician?"
Amber nodded.
"A wonderful violinist…maybe should have bought you a new one but I wasn't sure if you wanted one." Amber explained.
Everyone else was quiet. The last time Vanya played a violin she nearly ended the world. Vanya didn't notice the shift in tone and simply looked over the beautiful necklace.
"Thank you, Amber, this is lovely."
"You're welcome Vanya. Maybe we can get you another violin in the future and see if you can still play."
Amber slightly glared at everyone since context also mattered when Vanya played. She wouldn't want to end the world if she felt accepted and Amber felt confident in that sentiment.
Lastly was her husband Five and he already had an idea on what his gift was. Sure enough, it was a navy suit with a matching hat, a gold tie clip and matching cufflinks. Amber sighed in relief as she had remembered to pack her manuscript for Five. He glanced at the notebooks and he read the title of one and smiled.
"Against All Odds: Love in an Apocalypse…Amber are these…"
Amber nodded and Five turned to a random page to glance at Amber's words. He cracked a slight smile and closed it since he would want to read their tale in private. He glanced at the notebooks and asked,
"There are a lot of them Amber, you sure were busy."
Amber smiled softly.
"There's a lot since there's a lot that happened in our lives Five. It was…therapeutic for me, writing my pain from my childhood out to really process everything. I liked reflecting on the good, the bad was painful, but overall, it is something I felt I needed to do at this point in my life to move forward. I thought you would love to read my work before maybe someday others will too." Amber explained.
"Make sure you're both comfortable with dark secrets coming out." Diego expressed.
"Yes and maybe when your circus cult isn't around." Klaus added.
Amber nodded since no way these books can be published so long as the circus was around. She did wonder if their meddling means that beyond this time, they would return. It was thought Amber didn't want to face just yet.
Amber ended her gift exchange by giving everyone a lighter. Luther was going to comment until Klaus explained,
"This way any of you now can contact Amber. You can speak in the flame and she can also travel. Neat trick isn't it?"
Five smiled a bit and placed the lighter in his pocket. It was good to see Klaus thinking and that was actually a smart idea. Vanya flicked the lighter and asked,
"How does that work Amber?"
Amber laughed softly and snapped her finger, causing a small ember to ignite her thumb.
"I can sense flames, Vanya. And when I have a means to communicate; having a small ember for example, I can speak to you. It is nice to have when we can't get to a phone to chat. It should help us in our times of need. Oh I can also flame travel to you with these as well, just make sure not to panic when I emerge."
Amber made her ember disappear and Diego couldn't help but chuckle.
"This is cool Amber. Wish I'd known about this…you could have helped to get me out." Diego commented.
Five rolled his eyes in annoyance. No way in any time Amber would risk being a criminal to aid him.
"Yes but then my wife would be on the news aiding a mental patient. I would rather spare her that thanks." Five expressed.
The family took some time to take in some cake and to appreciate the gifts Amber got them. Five liked the high spirits of his family, but he knew he needed to light some fires under their asses. He needed them all to help stop the impending apocalypse since them being here triggers the event in action.
"Now that everyone is mostly pleased with their gift, I actually have some bad news. The end of the world followed us" Five said
No one but Klaus seemed shocked by that news.
"Oh my God again. You all knew? Why am I always the last one to… oh my God, Five. My cult is going to be so pissed. I told them we had until 2019!" Klaus said in a whiny tone of voice.
Five scoffed since that was the least of everyone's problems.
"We have until Monday" Five stressed.
"Is it Vanya? It's usually Vanya" Klaus said.
"Klaus!" Allison scolded him. Vanya chose to ignore that and turned to Five.
"Any leads?" Vanya asked.
Five showed them the picture of their dad on the Grassy Knoll. This didn't bother Amber but Diego made this about Kennedy and Five was growing more annoyed with the hero complex.
"So, we know what we need to do?" Amber asked.
"Kill dad!" Diego answered.
"Find dad." Five answered.
Amber was appalled at Diego's answer since his plan will risk everyone's lives.
"Really how stupid can you be Diego. You kill him, none of you won't be taken by him. Have you not read about the grandfather paradox? Heck it's the only reason I haven't killed Maude at this point. Although my life would be better…wait I may cease to exist. Dam this whole time continuum thing is always going to make my headache." Amber scolded.
"Wait what?!"" Allison asked.
Everyone looked at Amber with confused expressions since to them, she wasn't making much sense. The only thing they understood was Amber had ideas about killing Maude, which seemed unlike her. Klaus seemed a bit down at Amber's hatred for her surrogate mother and asked,
"Was the bitch lying more again Amber? How'd you find that out?" Klaus asked.
Amber didn't want to go into it since she had just gotten out of her funk. They were wasting time deviating from what her husband had told them about the end and they needed to focus.
"We're getting off topic Klaus. Besides, we don't even know what is broken and for all I know, us being here triggers it entirely. Best way is to find a way out of here as soon as possible if we can't figure out how the end comes." Amber informed.
"Amber is right on that. This didn't happen before so maybe one of us did something to mess up the timeline. Anyone do anything?" Five asked.
Everyone was quiet, including Amber since she wasn't in the right either seeing how Joanna being Maude's sister did impact time. Five glanced at his family since he knew most of them did something stupid and was keepings quiet. When Five looked at Luther, he shared Diego's actions.
"Diego's going after Lee Harvey Oswald!" Luther yelled.
"You're working for Jack Ruby!" Diego said
"Allison has been very involved in local politics!" Klaus said with a smirk.
"Well, you started a cult!" Allison fought back" Klaus made a face.
"Thank you!" Ben said and Klaus just glared.
" I'm just a nanny on a farm, I don't have anything to do with any of this." Vanya said calmly
" I have been laying low too. I mean I live with a nice couple but they don't stick out much. I work a modest living in a bookstore." Amber said calmly.
Yet Joanna is Maude's sister so who the hell knows how this is going to change time Amber thought to herself.
"Anyway, we need to find dad and figure out how to stop this." Five said calmly.
"Yea I am out." Luther said.
Amber was annoyed, more so than usual at him. Luther was running away and not going to help his family. Five risks everything time and time again, which made Five more of a leader in Amber's eyes.
"Did you even hear what I said?" Five asked, clearly being annoyed at Luther, blocking him from the stairs.
"Yea I heard a 58-year-old man who still needs his dad to come and save him. Again, I'm out"
Luther said and began descending down the stairs. Diego followed suit to go after him. Others protested, and Five blipped in front of Luther glaring at him. Five understood why Luther was in low spirits but it was no excuse to turn his back on responsibility. Sure when Luther saw dad he wasn't kind and treated him not like a son, but he never truly did before and it made sense at the current time. Five was pissed that Luther was forgetting who he was and abandoning the family.
"No one is going anywhere till we figure this out." Five said.
He was annoyed with Luther's attitude. Luther was supposed to be a leader but now it seems that he is nothing but a coward. Luther just grabbed Five by collar and threw him over the railing. Thankfully Five blipped out, before landing. Luther thought he was in the clear until he felt an intense fireball at his back. More and more of them were being tossed at him from his back to his ass and he yelled in pain.
"Amber what the hell! Knock it off with the fire show!" Luther growled.
Luther saw a huge flame at the bottom of the stairs and sure enough, Amber teleported herself to the bottom to stop Luther from leaving. Her fists were engulfed in flames and her eyes glared at him.
"How dare you do that to my husband!? He's trying to be the leader you wish you could be! We are all responsible for the impending apocalypse and you're running away from that! Reggie would be disappointed in you. Tu es une honte pour la famille" Amber stated bluntly.
Luther rolled his eyes. She was barely family as much as he was concerned and they were all a disgrace if Reggie were to see them all now. He really didn't want to hear this from her.
"I don't give a shit anymore Amber. Besides, the academy isn't even a thing at this time. Don't know why you care so much."
"Because Luther, some of us have people we care for or will care for if we don't stop this! If time ends early, people we care for will die!" Amber hissed.
"Lest you forget, I don't have anyone like that. My loyalty to this whole team and dad cost me that! I don't want to do this anymore. Not stand aside or I will toss you like I did Five." Luther glared.
Amber scoffed and looked up to Allison. Luther must have known about Allison's marriage otherwise why else would he be so extreme about not having anyone. She knew Allison getting married very soon and suddenly after her divorce was going to complicate matters. Amber sighed and retracted her fire.
"You do have someone Luther, just hope you come around to help her to help us." Amber stated, trying to be soft in voice but still pissed at him. Luther didn't toss her, but he did push past her with force and left Elliot's. Amber looked at Diego and he nodded.
"I'll talk to him Amber, no worries. Dad emotionally shanked him so that's why he's also more of an asshole about this." Diego explained.
"Reggie wasn't his only family and he's letting us all done. Do talk to your stubborn meathead brother or I will barbeque him out of anger."
Diego nodded and went after him. Amber took a deep breath and returned upstairs to Allison, Vanya, and Klaus. She got herself a slice of vanilla cake and ate it rather quickly. Klaus finished up his cake slice and chuckled a bit.
"I can go for some tacos about now. Vanya tacos?" Klaus asked.
Vanya looked to Allison and Amber, asking,
"Will tacos cause the end of the world?"
Amber chuckled and shook her head.
"No but I'd rather get some fries myself. Tacos never agree with me or maybe it's because I had enough beans in my lifetime."
"Fine fries for you Amber but Allison, tacos?" Klaus asked with a slight chuckle.
Allison looked tempted but asked,
"Should we wait until they come back though?"
Klaus laughed and shook his head.

Amber smiled slightly as she followed them out of Elliot's. This family never ceased to make things boring but they were her family and loved being a part of something more than herself. They were slightly broken and dysfunctional, but she was pretty messed up too and most have welcomed her with open arms. She has something to protect. What she wanted now though were some fries and maybe some brandy to go along with them and company.
