Akame Ga Kill: Kill the Second Chance.
This chapter will be about Mine thinking about her feelings, Bulat using a demon move for the first time, Chelsea's opinion about Night Raid and Tatsumi talking to Chelsea in the hot springs.
Quick Note- Last chapter I revealed another four spirits, but those four spirits were on Night Raid's side, so I think it's time I reveal the spirits that the Jaeger's are going to use. All the Jaeger's will have the necklaces, but Tatsumi will give Seryu the necklace he made. The only people who will not get necklaces is Bols and Budo. Here are the spirits for these four people:
Wave's spirit will be a shark. The spirit's ability will increase Wave's strength and speed, so he can be on par with Tatsumi. The spirit can also turn his body into water, making it impossible to hurt him with any kind of weapons and guns. It also has a special weapon that Wave can use when he is in his Dragon Whale armor. There is no downside for him, but he would have to be careful when fighting against a lightning or fire Teigu. He won't die instantly if he gets touched by those, he will become weak for three days.
Kurome's spirit will be a reaper. The spirit's ability can make Kurome's puppets more powerful and stronger than before. It can also increase their speed, making it a bit impossible to find. The downside is, the necklace's power can only be used during night time. Kurome can use it during daylight, but the powers will not be that efficient and powerful.
Esdeath's spirit will be a snow leopard. The spirit's ability can make Esdeath's ice powers more powerful than ever, and it also gives her new moves that are very deadly and dangerous. If Esdeath uses a powerful trump card that will make her exhausted, the spirit can give some of its powers to Esdeath, making her fight longer than normal. However, if Esdeath keeps using powerful ice attacks and her trump cards, the necklace's power will shut down, and Esdeath will be completely exhausted for a week.
Cosomina's spirit will be a rabbit. The spirit's ability can make her voice and Teigu much stronger than before, and it also make people obey her commands. The spirit can also protect its master's friends from Cosomina's deadly Teigu. The downside is, the spirit can only protect two-hundred men, and it can only be used once per-day.
And that's the spirits for the Jaeger's side. Here are the following people that I haven't revealed yet: Sayo, Seryu, Run, Suzuka, Leone and Tatsumi. I have a spirit idea for Seryu, and we have an idea what Leone's spirit is. (Go to chapter Sixteen and read the part about her aura when she was talking to Lubbock) But it's Suzuka and Sayo I'm having trouble with.
I have been thinking lately, and I decided to let Mez live, but she will be with Lubbock and Najenda. Sorry if you guys want Mez to be in Tatsumi's harem.
Now, let's enjoy the chapter!
Chapter Twenty-Two: The Insult.
(Two Weeks Later; Night Raid's Temporary base.)
It has been a two weeks since Night Raid arrived in the Marg High-lands, and things have been busy lately. Night Raid have been training endlessly, getting to know Chelsea and Susanoo, spending time with Lilac and exploring the unknown territory.
Night Raid has gotten a lot stronger now, thanks to Tatsumi's Danger-Beast powers and necklaces. And since Sheele, Sayo, Akame and Leone had Danger-Beast powers inside them, they don't need that much training at all, though when they are in an area that are filled with Danger-Beasts, they would transform into their power forms to see how much damage it can do. And needless to say, the results were…quite shocking.
The area was completely destroyed, with lots of Danger-Beast limbs and blood on the ground. There were also craters on the ground, and by the time Sayo, Leone and Sheele finished taking out the Danger-Beasts and turned around, they were completely shocked when they saw how much damaged they caused and looked at their necklaces with awe.
Tatsumi had explained to them that using the form for the first time might exhaust them, but since the Danger-Beast powers were inside them, their stamina and endurance have increased rapidly, and they can use the power form for as long as they liked, something that made Leone cheered happily.
Tatsumi was glad that he can train for two weeks because he has been going deep into the unknown territory and began using his other powers, and so far, the results were completely shocking and terrifying. But he was satisfied with the results and continued to keep training them.
He was saving the ultimate trump card when he fights against that Teigu during the Revolution Day, but he hopes that it doesn't have to fight that. He was trying to figure out a way to keep it from activating, but he hasn't come up with anything.
We now find Tatsumi walking towards the living room in Night Raid's Temporary base, with his sword and a box filled with cleaning supplies. He was planning on relaxing for a day and wanted to spend time with Lilac. He sat down and began polishing his sword. As he polished his sword, he began to think about all the things he had changed.
'Okay, things are going well so far.' Tatsumi thought with a smile on his face. 'Sheele and Bulat are still alive, and I saved Spear from death. But soon, things are about to get harder. We'll have to face the Jaegers, and I'll have to save Chelsea from being killed by Kurome.' As he continued to polish his sword, he suddenly lost the smile on his face and became sad. 'If I joined when Akame was being trained by the Empire, then maybe I could have convinced her friends and her sister to see the truth about the Empire. But I was very emotional, and I was still getting used that I was given a second chance.' He then released a heavy sigh. 'I just hope that Akame can understand that when I explained everything to them.'
Tatsumi then looked at the window, where the sun was rising. 'Soon, I'll meet with Esdeath again, and this time, I will get her on our side.'
(Two Hours Later; With Susanoo and Akame.)
It was daylight and it was a nice day to enjoy anything, like fishing or hunting. Speaking of fishing, we find our two greatest chefs, Susanoo and Akame, on a boat that was in the middle of a huge lake, trying to catch a fish. Akame wore a hat on her head to block off the sun and was sitting crossed leg while eating a rice ball with one hand, and the other a wooden fishing pole.
'Come on, fish! Bite already!' Akame thought, her patience running extremely thin. The raven-hair beauty of Night Raid had a tick mark on her head as she glared at the water, like it was its fault for not letting a fish bite on her fishing hook. 'I must eat you, then go spend time with Lilac!'
The red-eye beauty of Night Raid had heard that Tatsumi went to Capital to get a box of crayons and paper for Lilac to draw, and she wanted to join. After all, Lilac is Sheele's, Sayo's, Leone's and Akame's daughter, which the purple-hair woman explained to Lilac one time. Now the little girl is calling Leone, Sayo, Akame and Sheele Mama, much to the first three women's great surprised and relief.
'I'm really glad Lilac is calling me Mama.' Akame thought, a soft smile on her face. 'She really is cute and can make people happy, like her Papa.' She then chuckled softly when she remembered going to the kitchen one time and found Lilac and Tatsumi covered in flour. Even the kitchen was covered in flour. They were trying to bake cookies, but instead of baking them, they made a complete mess in the kitchen. Akame became stunned and shocked when she stared at the kitchen's state, making her jaw dropped to the ground, and she turned to look at the duo who was responsible for the mess. All Tatsumi and Lilac did was give Akame huge innocent smiles.
Akame got out of her stunned state and began laughing when she saw the mess. Her laughter increased when she saw those smiles, attracting the other members of Night Raid. When they entered the kitchen and saw the kitchen's state, they were shocked and stunned before they laughed with Akame.
Najenda and Susanoo, however, were the only ones not laughing. The former was gaining tick marks on her head, wondering what kind of punishments she should give to her best assassin and her 'Niece' for making their kitchen messy, and Susanoo was looking around the kitchen with a face that was filled with anxiety.
Needless to say, Tatsumi and Lilac got punished for three weeks and was forced to never go near the kitchen again, something that the two pouted childishly, much to Night Raid's amusement.
Her thoughts were broken when her fishing pole suddenly twitched a bit before the top part went downwards, meaning that Akame caught a fish.
"Ah! I got a fish!" She exclaimed, pulling the rice ball away from her mouth, only one tiny piece of rice on the right side of her face. Akame pulled her fishing pole upwards and a giant fish, with a razor-sharp blade for the tail, burst out of the water with the hook in its mouth. She drooled at the size of the fish and knew that everyone was going to love the fish.
Susanoo turned around and gasped when he saw a tiny piece of rice on Akame's face. It should not be there at all! He swiftly reached out and grabbed the rice, which Akame did not noticed as she was busy trying to get the fish towards them.
"Much better!" Susanoo exclaimed, a wave of relief filling inside him. As he kept staring at the rice, he did not notice that the fish that Akame caught was coming towards them to eat them. But Susanoo suddenly swiped his staff upwards, piercing the fish's stomach and killing it instantly.
"It's going to be a feast tonight!" Akame exclaimed, turning her head to look at Susanoo with a grin. "I can't wait to eat that fish!"
(An Hour Later; Night Raid's Temporary base.)
"Whew! Su's cooking is amazing!" Leone exclaimed with a grin, her legs on the table, while patting her stomach. "That was the best food I ever had in my life! The slight exhaustion I had from training is gone!"
"Yeah, that fish we had was great." Tatsumi said, taking a break from swinging a wooden sword and sat down on the table. "That is impressive, Akame. I think you have a gift inside you to make great food."
"Please, Tatsumi. Susanoo did all the work." Akame said with a smile, her cheeks became pink as she began clearing the table. "If there's anyone to praised for this meal, it's Susanoo. But thank you."
'This girl…' Najenda thought, chuckling under her breath. 'She has completely fallen for him.' The Boss of Night Raid smiled as she watched Akame cleaning the table off, still having that smile on her face. 'Things have changed when Tatsumi joined. He had managed to change Akame from an emotionless and socially awkward person to a happy and kind person.'
"Hey, Bulat, Su." Tatsumi said, turning to his right to look at the Incursio user. "Do you two want to train with me tomorrow?"
"That would be great." Susanoo said, nodding his head.
"Yeah, it has been a while since we last trained, Tatsumi." Bulat said, sitting on the couch beside Spear, who was watching Lilac drawing a picture with crayons. The young child was wearing a child-sized purple shirt, black shorts and purple sandals. "I can't wait to see how stronger you become."
"Me too, Bulat." Tatsumi said, smirking at the thought of sparing against Bulat and Susanoo. "Me too."
"Heh, I told you all that Susanoo is incredible." Najenda said, smirking as she took a puff of her cigarette.
"I have to admit, he is impressive." Tatsumi said, turning to look at Susanoo. "It's quite surprising that the Revolutionary Army would send us a useful Teigu. Was he doing missions for the Revolutionary Army before he came with you, Boss?"
"Well, no. Susanoo has been asleep for decades until now." Najenda replied, looking at the Biological Teigu, who was helping Akame cleaning the table. "He reactivated after he responded to me."
"That's amazing!" Akame exclaimed with a grin, holding a stack of plates. "The Boss is incredible!"
"Well…when you put it like that…" Najenda said, still smirking as she put a hand under her chin and did a pose, with stars in the background. "I guess…it was my feminine charm...that attracted him."
"Najenda is like the spitting image of my master." Susanoo said with a small smile, holding a stack of dirty plates.
Tatsumi had to suppress a snort of laughter that was threatening to burst from his lips. 'Oh, this is going to be good.'
"That person must've been an amazing individual for wielding you, Susanoo." Najenda said, resting her head on her hand and closing her one eye. "I would've loved to meet that person."
"Would you agree, Su?" Leone asked, leaning back on her chair.
"Yes." Susanoo replied, nodding his head as he thought of his previous master. "Not only my master was a great leader, but a great man!"
"A MAN?!" Najenda exclaimed, her one eye completely opened wide, and it was filled with shocked.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Leone roared with laughter from what Susanoo said. She was laughing so hard that she almost felled out of her chair, and she had tears streaming down her red face. "Boss, you totally look like a man! And he said that you are the spitting image of a man! AHAHA!"
'Looks like you done it now, Leone.' Tatsumi thought, smirking as he leaned back on his chair to watch the fireworks.
'You pissed the Boss off.' Akame thought, smirking as she continued to clean the table.
"Did you just say something, Leone?" Najenda asked in a dark and menacing tone, flexing her mechanical fingers to create an eerie creaking noise, causing Leone to stop laughing immediately. It was at this moment that she had realized one thing: She had completely pissed off the Boss of Night Raid. The silver-hair woman's eyes were shadowed, making her one good eye glow a bit, and she slowly began to stand up while keeping her attention towards the blonde, who was paralyzed with fear. "I really hope you didn't…because I would hate to punish you…"
"N-nothing, Boss!" Leone exclaimed, letting out an audible gulp. The blonde assassin was completely shaking before she quickly rushed around the table and sat next to Tatsumi, who was smirking in amusement. "I didn't anything at all!"
"That's what I thought." Najenda said, glaring at Leone for a moment before slumping on her seat. She then released a heavy sigh before placing her face in her hands. 'Oh, man. I'm so embarrassed right now, and I bet Lubbock heard the whole thing.' It was then she remembered the conversation she had with Tatsumi two weeks ago and she turned to looked at him with her fingers very slightly apart. She became very furious when she saw him smirking, and she instantly realized that he knew what Susanoo was going to say. 'That son of a bitch knew that would happen! Tatsumi, you bastard!'
Lubbock was watching the whole conversation and smirked in amusement when he saw how embarrassed his beloved was.
"Everyone seems to be taken a liking to Susanoo." Bulat said, also smirking at his embarrassed Boss. He had to cough into his hand to hide his laughter.
"Yeah, but that bastard is taking my place." Lubbock said, losing his smirk and became irritated. "What do you think, Mine?" When he received no response for a few moments, he turned to look at the pink-hair assassin, who had a frown on her face as she stared at an untouched piece of cake that was in her lap. She seemed to be in deep thought. "Mine?"
'I still finding it hard to believe that Tatsumi is dating Akame, Leone, Sayo and Sheele…' Mine thought with a blush on her face. 'I understand that Akame and Leone have been clingy lately with Tatsumi, but I never thought that Sheele would be that bold to do…'that' with him.' Mine's blush darkened when she thought of Tatsumi doing lewd things with Sheele. 'KYAAAAAAAAAAAA! Don't think about dirty thoughts!' She shook her head violently, getting rid of lewd thoughts before taking a deep breath to calm herself. 'I've been denying it for two months, but I can't keep hiding my feelings forever. I…love Tatsumi. I don't know when I'm going to be killed in this line of work, but I can't wait any longer…I'll have to make my move tomorrow.' It was then Mine noticed that Spear was looking at Tatsumi with a sad expression on her face, and it made her confused. What was Spear sad about?
Mine didn't have time to think about it because someone began shaking her shoulder.
"Oi, Mine! You there!?" Sayo exclaimed, still shaking the pinkette's shoulder. "Lub was asking you a question."
'It seems that Mine and Spear are about to have fun with Tatsumi tomorrow.' Sheele thought, reading Mine's thoughts and seeing the sad look on Spear's face. She was sitting on the floor and taking a break from drawing with Lilac. 'I can't wait to tease the hell out of Mine and Spear after they have sex with Tatsumi.' A gleeful smirk spread across her face when she thought of teasing a flustered Spear and an extremely embarrassed Mine. 'I better tell him to put sound-proof in his room, so the noises won't reach Lilac's room. I don't want her to ask a bunch of awkward questions.'
"You alright, Mine?" Bulat asked with concern in his voice. "You have been quiet for a while."
"Were you even listening to me?" Lubbock asked, raising a brow.
"Yeah, I was listening that you were whining about Susanoo taking your place." Mine said, remembering what Lubbock was whining about before huffing. "Well, you are the laughing stock in the team, Lubbock, so I don't exactly see any changes about you at all."
"Ouch, she's got you there, Lubbock." Sayo said, smirking as she walked over and sat on the ground beside Lilac, who was still drawing on a piece of paper, not even listening to the conversations. "Everyone loves to see you crying about something." She then looked over at the picture Lilac was drawing and smiled softly at it. "That's a nice picture you're drawing, Lilac."
"Thanks, Mama!" Lilac exclaimed, turning to face Sayo with a huge grin on her face. She then giggled when Sayo and Sheele patted her head.
"I wasn't 'crying' about anything at all." Lubbock grumbled, crossing his arms and slumping into his seat.
"Whatever you say." Mine said, shrugging her shoulders before turning to the cake in her lap. She was about to take a bite when she saw something entered the room. She quirked an eyebrow when she saw a small cat-like creature walked up to her and let out a meow. "Oh, wow! Is that a baby Marg Panther cub?" Mine's face became flushed when the cat jumped on the couch beside her.
"They are surprisingly comfortable around humans." Lubbock said, as the cat continued to rub its head against Mine's arm, letting out a soft purr while doing so.
"Aww, that's so cute!" Spear squealed, her eyes lighting up. The second blond-hair assassin in Night Raid quickly rushed over to the cat and gently picked it up. "My Father got me a little cat like this when I was little after my Mother died. He saw how sad I was, so he decided to cheer me up by getting a cat." With a smile, Spear hugged the cat closed to her chest, much to the cat's disdain. "And then I met Sheele when me and my Father went to market to get groceries, and we instantly became friends. We spend all our time playing with my cat and going on walks."
"Was that true, Sheele?" Sayo asked, turning to face the busty purple-haired assassin with a raised eyebrow. She had never heard of Sheele's childhood before, and she was curious to learn more about it.
"Yeah, it was true." Sheele replied, smiling fondly at the childhood memories she and Spear had when they were little.
As everyone kept talking, neither noticed that the little cat in Spear's arms was trying to wriggle out of Spear's grasp.
Tatsumi then entered the living room and saw the cat in Spear's arms. A smirk spread across his face when he saw how desperately the Marg Panther cub was, trying to get out Spear's arms. No Marg Panther cub should ever be that desperate to get out of a person's grasp. And not to mention, everyone in Night Raid was in the cottage except for one member. So, the only member in Night that isn't in the cottage was…
'Chelsea…' Tatsumi thought, shaking his head at the cat before sitting on the ground beside Lilac and Sheele. 'You can fool everyone with your Teigu, but you can't fool me and my Danger-Beast powers.' Even though he remembered this part, he still wanted to use more of his powers.
'What's Tatsumi thinking about?' Mine thought, watching her crush as he began drawing with Lilac, still having that smirk on his face. For some reason, that smirk made a sense of dread filled her stomach. 'I don't like that smirk on his face. What is he smirking about?'
Mine didn't have time to think about it because she felt a presence next to her. Turning to her left, she was completely surprised to see the Marg Panther cub sitting next to her. How the cat gotten out of Spear's arms, she would never find out. It was then Mine noticed that the cat was looking at her piece of cake.
"Oh, no. I'm not giving you any of this." Mine said, moving the cake away from the little cat. "This is the last piece, and I'm not sharing it." However, Mine's will began to crushed when the cat looked at her with cute, simmering eyes and let out a soft meow. "Okay…you win. I'll give you one piece." Mine cut a small piece and offered it to the cat, but her eyes suddenly widened when the cat got a gleamed in its eye and snatched the plate out of her hands. "HEY!" Suddenly, the cat exploded into a cloud of smoke, making everyone in the living room turned to look at it.
"Heh, what a perfect little snack." A voice said through the puff of smoke, making Mine's eye widened further when she recognized the voice. When the smoke settled, it revealed Cheslea instead of the cat. She was on all fours, with Mine's cake in her right hand, and had a smirk on her face when she turned around.
"CHELSEA!" Mine yelled, standing up from her seat and glared at Chelsea. Her face flushed red with anger. "That was my cake!"
"Thank you." Chelsea said, still having that smirk on her face before eating Mine's cake, further enraging the pink-hair assassin. "That cake was delicious, Mine. You missed out on it"
"Great job, Chelsea." Tatsumi said, standing up from the floor and walked towards the auburn-hair assassin to pat her on the shoulder. "You managed to get tease Mine again and took her cake. She really wasn't prepared for that."
"I know, she let her guard down." Chelsea said, turning her head away to hide her small blush, while losing her smirk. This was the first time that someone complimented her for teasing people before, and for some reason, it made her heart happy, and the strange thing was…she liked hearing Tatsumi compliment her. 'What is this feeling?"
"How did you transform into a cat, Chelsea?" Sheele asked, crossing her arms under her chest. "Was that an unknown Teigu we don't know about?"
"You are right, that was an unknown Teigu." Chelsea replied, pulling out a small pink makeup box. "And I can transform into anything than a cat, Sheele." She then reached in the makeup box and pulled out a couple of utensils. "My Teigu is called Gaea Foundation, and it's really handy." Chelsea's smirk returned as she leaned towards Mine, who was upset for the loss of her cake and getting the jump on her. "And if you don't keep your guard up…" With her smirk widened, Chelsea whispered in Mine's Ear. "I might steal Tatsumi from you."
"W-W-W-W-W-WHAT?!" Mine exclaimed, her face burning up that put a tomato in shame. "What'd you say?!"
"Who knows?" Chelsea asked, shrugging her shoulders. "I could be hiding in the shadows and steal him." She looked a bit smug about the idea, and it was shown on her face, even further enraging the pink-hair assassin.
'We'll see about that, you bitch!' Mine thought, glaring at Chelsea. 'I won't let you steal him from me!'
"Your Teigu sounds cool." Spear said, inspecting the makeup supplies within the box. "But it would be very dangerous if someone discovered you and your Teigu. It doesn't seem to have any weapons at all."
"That's true, Spear. Gaea Foundation isn't meant for combat." Chelsea explained, shrugging her shoulders. "But it's mainly designed to trick people and sneak into enemy territory. An assassin should always be wary when you are sneaking up to people, even you are relaxing." She then grinned ear to ear, and teasingly poked Mine on the nose. "And that surprised look on your face…was worth it."
"ARGH!" Mine screamed, stomping her foot on the ground repeatedly. "YOU ARE REALLY MAKING ME MAD!" Her outburst caused Chelsea and Lilac to burst out laughing. "AH! STOP LAUGHING AT ME!"
Everyone in the room just smirked at the antics between Chelsea and Mine.
(The Next Morning; In a Ravine Just South of Night Raid's Temporary base; With Leone, Bulat and Tatsumi.)
"Looks like the Danger-Beasts are pissed off, guys." Tatsumi said, sliding into a fighting stance with Dragon Wrath in his right hand. The brown-hair assassin was back-to-back with Leone and Bulat, and all three of them were in their respective Teigu forms. They were surrounded by large, lizard-like Danger-Beasts, who were snarling at them. "They have completely surrounded us."
"Are you saying that you're scared, Tatsumi?" Leone asked with a smirk, cracking her paw-like knuckles. "If you are, then you can run away."
"Yeah, you can let us handle them while you go sit on the cliff." Bulat added, smirking inside his helmet as he summoned Neuntote into his right hand.
"I'm not scared!" Tatsumi exclaimed, slamming his staff into the ground. "I'm ready to face all these bastards!"
"That's what we wanted to hear!" Leone exclaimed, punching Tatsumi in the arm. She then had a sudden idea, one that she will enjoy and hopefully, she can enjoy teasing Tatsumi. "Hey, should we make this a contest?"
"A contest, huh?" Tatsumi asked, looking thoughtful for a moment before nodding. "What's the contest about?"
"Whoever kills the most Danger-Beast wins!" Leone replied, just as the Danger-Beasts began moving towards them. She jumped into the air to dodge an attack from one of the lizards and with a grunt, she kicked the Danger-Beast's head so hard that it crashed into the ground and instantly died. "And the loser has to do whatever the winner says!"
"You're on!" Tatsumi said, summoning Shadow Blaster in his left hand and aimed the gun at one of the lizards' before firing it. The bullet pierced through five of the Danger-Beasts heads, killing them instantly. He then turned to Bulat, who was not moving and was merely observing the Danger-Beasts. "Bulat, want to join the contest?"
"No thanks, I'm good." Bulat politely denied, shaking his head. He did not want anything to do with Leone's bets. He then jumped into the air to dodge an attack from one of the lizards and slammed his spear into its head, killing it instantly.
"Let's get them!" Tatsumi shouted, and he, Leone and Bulat rushed at the Danger-Beasts, who roared and charge right back at them. Bulat and Leone went separate ways while Tatsumi kept running straight. He then jumped high in the air, and with a twirl of his staff, he aimed the staff downward and fire came out of the dragon's head, burning the land and the lizard-like Danger-Beasts, who let out a roar of pain before they disintegrated into ash.
"Alright, I think I'm in the lead." Tatsumi said, counting the Danger-Beasts he had just burnt, and he grinned in triumph when he realized that he was in the lead. "Yep, I'm definitely in the lead."
While Tatsumi is winning the contest, Bulat is swiftly taking the Danger-Beast left and right with Neuntote, while still observing the Danger-Beasts. He knew what these Danger-Beast are, he just hasn't seen them in action before.
'These Danger-Beast can do damage with just one hit.' Bulat thought, narrowing his eyes at the Danger-Beasts before sprinting away a bit. 'I'll have to be careful, or else I'll get injured.' He then surrounded himself in a blue aura, making the lizards faltered a bit before snarling at him. Raising his spear above his head, demonic energy began to gather on the tip of the spear, and it was getting bigger by the second.
Having enough energy, Bulat aimed the spear towards the Danger-Beasts, grabbed the handle with both hands and shouted, "Great-Demon Night Slash!"
A wave of demonic energy came out of Neuntote and the energy, which was black with blue highlights, was rushing towards the Danger-Beasts, who let out a confused snarl. Before they can move, or even dodge the attack, the energy stuck the Danger-Beasts chests, and they let out a terrible screech of pain. They then suddenly fell to the ground, with holes in their chests and instantly died.
'Bulat managed to use a demonic move?' Tatsumi thought, sensing a demonic energy in the area, and he knew that the only person could do that was Bulat. He looked over to where Bulat was and widened his eyes when he saw a black energy with blue highlights coming from Bulat's staff. 'I know that the necklaces had made Night Raid stronger than ever, but I didn't imagine that they would be this strong.' A smile then spread across Tatsumi's face as he watched Bulat using the deadly energy again. 'Bulat has been training lately when I told him what my Teigu is. He might even catch up to my level in no time.'
'This isn't going well.' Leone thought, kicking another lizard-like Danger-Beast head, making its spit out saliva. 'At this rate, Tatsumi might win the contest.' She had seen what Tatsumi has done to the lizards, and she was starting to get a bit worried. She was tempting to communicate with Tatsumi in her mind, to hear what she will have to do if she loses, but she forced it out of her mind. She was not going to lose this contest against her lover, and there was no way in hell she was going to sleep with Lubbock again. Her pride as a woman, lion and assassin would be damaged, and she'll never be able to fix it.
"I just can't keep dealing with these little shits." Leone said, once she landed on the ground and narrowed her lion-like eyes. "If I want to win the contest, I need to find their leader and kill it." She then began using her enhanced senses to scope out the ravine. A vicious grin spread across Leone's face when she found the leader, hiding in the distance. The leader was the same as the lizards, but it was taller and had a red gem on its forehead. "Found ya, you bastard."
Leone then crouched on the ground; her muscles tighten a bit, and with a grunt of effort, she sped-rocketed towards the leader. The small pack of Danger-Beasts tried to stop her, but she dodged them all, and reached the leader, who snarled at her for getting past its pack.
"TAKE THIS!" Leone roared, dive-bombing the Danger-Beast's leader. However, the lizard was more agile than Leone thought, and it dodge her attack at the last moment.
BOOM!
Leone's fist crashed into the ground, making a sizeable crater. "Oho, you managed to dodge my attack?" She asked, taking her fist out of the ground and wiping the dirt off her arm. "Looks like you got some skills." But before Leone had a chance to make a move, the leader of the Danger-Beasts spit out a ball of acidic goo at her, making her eyes widened before jumping to the right to dodge the attack. "Ooh! Looks like that has to be your special ability!"
The blonde assassin's feet hit the side of the ravine wall, and she was prepared to jump off the wall. But suddenly, a whirring sound filled the air, making Leone looked around in confusion. The whirring sound got closer and louder when suddenly, much to Leone's shock, an arrow pierced the red gem on the lizard's forehead, making it roar in pain. The arrow then started beeping rapidly before it exploded, destroying the Danger-Beasts head.
Leone was completely dumbfounded and shocked as she watched the headless lizard take a few stumbling steps before it collapsed to the ground. "What…the…FUCK?!"
"Nice shot, Sayo!" A voice exclaimed on top on the ravine, and Leone looked up to see Sayo and Spear standing at the edge, with their resptice weapons out. Sayo's Darken Sky and Spear's Extase.
"Thanks, Spear!" Sayo cheered, slinging Darken Sky over her shoulder and jumped into the ravine, with Spear following her. "I hit that big son of a bitch in the weak spot when it was distracted! I'm the best archer in the world!" It was then Sayo noticed Leone was staring at her, still having that dumbfounded expression on her face. "Hey, Leone. How are you?"
"Sayo! Spear! What the hell?!" Leone exclaimed, getting out of her dumb state and slapped both girls on the shoulders. "That Danger-Beast was mine!"
"Bullshit, Leone. It was mine." Sayo retorted, poking at the Danger-Beast with her foot. "When I was testing out my power form yesterday, this fucker managed to escape from me, and I've been tracking it down for a while. So, this kill is mine."
"But…I…you…" Leone stammered a bit, trying to come up with something to retort, but only hang her head. "Damn it, I got nothing."
"Are you guys alright?!" Tatsumi yelled, landing in the ravine with Bulat behind him. "We heard an explosion!" He had just finished taking out all the Danger-Beasts, and when he looked around for Leone, he heard the explosion and feared the worst, only to let out a sigh of relief when he found her safe and sound.
"You ladies sure made a mess." Bulat said, grimacing at the decapitated Danger-Beast, which was twitching slightly. "Did you do that, Leone?"
"No, it was Sayo." Leone said, gesturing to Sayo with her thumb.
"Wait…does that mean?" Tatsumi muttered, not liking what he was about to say.
"Yep!" Sayo exclaimed with a huge grin. "Since I got the bigger Danger-Beast, I won the contest!"
"But you weren't even-" Tatsumi tried to retort, but Sayo and Spear began walking away, with the latter giving Tatsumi a wave.
"I hope you and Leone are good at massages, Tatsumi." Spear said, blushing at the thought of Tatsumi giving her a massage. "Because me and Sayo are in a desperate need of one."
'Oh, Tatsumi will give you more than a massage, Spear.' Sayo thought, smirking inwardly at Spear. 'He will give you more…'
"Damn it, I wanted win." Tatsumi and Leone muttered, their heads hanging down as they slowly followed Spear and Sayo back to base, with Bulat laughing the whole way.
(Thirty Minutes Later; Night Raid's Temporary base.)
"It seems that you all become more efficient than before, taking out the Danger-Beasts in the area." Najenda stated, putting a hand on her chin. "And you five even managed to take out the leader. That's impressive."
"But Spear and Sayo were the ones who took the leader out." Tatsumi said weakly, still upset that he lost the contest. He wanted to make Leone humiliated by wearing a maid's outfit for the entire day, and maybe give him a massage while still wearing it. "But with so many different types of Danger-Beasts in this area, I feel like they're a good challenge for me to face."
"Yeah! And it's more fun that way, Tatsumi!" Leone cheered happily with a toothy grin on her face. "Facing strong opponents makes my blood boiled!"
Bulat grinned at the fact of facing strong Danger-Beasts and testing out more of his demonic powers.
"And the air is quite thin here." Najenda pointed out, looking around the area with a slight narrowed eye. "Fighting these Danger-Beasts in the harsh environment can make you all exhausted…but I'm sure that it has helped you all improved your skills."
"Yeah, I can feel myself stronger than before!" Mine said with a smile, gently grabbing her necklace that Tatsumi gave her.
"Well, what do you think, Chelsea?" Najenda asked, turning to face the auburn-hair girl. "Do you have any thoughts about Night Raid's impressions for the past two weeks?"
"Hmmm." Chelsea hummed, observing everyone from left to right. For the past two weeks, she was observing Night Raid, and she had to admit, they were strong, stronger than what she imagined, and it shocked her a bit. She had never seen a group of assassins this strong. But after what she seen, she was extremely impressed…and a bit disappointed. Disappointed about not able to learn more about Tatsumi.
'I seen everyone's strength so far, and it seems that those necklaces are making them stronger.' Chelsea thought, as she continued to observe everyone before landing her eyes on Tatsumi. 'But I haven't seen Tatsumi's necklace power, and for some reason, I feel like he's holding back on his true power with that Teigu of his. I need to keep an even close eye on him.'
"You guys are strong, stronger than what I've imagine." Chelsea finally said, still locking eyes with Tatsumi. "Though…I can't help but feel like that everyone is holding back on their powers a bit…but aside from that, you're stronger than the last team I was assign to…"
Tatsumi's eyes narrowed slightly at Chelsea, as a familiar memory popped into his head, a memory that he didn't like at all.
In the old timeline Tatsumi was in, Chelsea commented about how strong Night Raid was, and how determine they are to end the war, making the brown-hair assassin happy with her words…only for that to go down the drain when she commented about Sheele and Bulat being failures. She then went on how Night Raid needs to think about their optimistic thinking, if they want to survive the war before leaving. Tatsumi became angry at Chelsea for talking about the two people he cared about and their optimistic thinking, but when he confronted her about the topic, she told him why she said that to Night Raid. He can still remember the words she said to him.
"I experience that pain before, Tatsumi…because a few months ago…I came home from a mission to find my whole team slaughtered. I…I really don't want that to happen with you guys, too. I can't handle losing another team of friends."
'What is your opinion now, Chelsea?' Tatsumi thought, still narrowing his eyes at Chelsea. 'Sheele and Bulat are still alive, and the last time when I met you, you were talking shit about them. I know that you lost your old team, and I feel bad for you, but that doesn't give you the right to talk about them.'
"But…" Chelsea muttered, clasping her hands behind her back and lowering her head slightly. "Just because all of you are strong, doesn't mean you will survive in this corrupted world. Over the past two weeks, I have been reading the reports…about Night Raid's two new members…Sayo and Spear…" Tatsumi's eyes widened slightly when Chelsea mentioned his lover and soon to be girlfriend.
'Oh, this isn't going to be good.' Tatsumi thought, preparing the chaos that was about to happened in a moment.
"I also continued to read the reports, about how they entered the Capital for the first time. How one person thought the Capital was a place where dreams come true, while the other was away from her home and thought the place was still peaceful…only to find themselves at the brink of death." Chelsea continued, still having her head lowered, but there was a dark look in her eyes. "They are nothing but complete disappointments."
"What?!" Mine and Sheele yelled, balling their fists tightly in anger. "What did you just say?!"
"Just because one person grew up in the Capital, and the other grew up in the country, doesn't mean that the world is a perfect place. They need to stop being naïve little girls and start taking things seriously. If they can't, then they are going to get themselves killed." Chelsea said, waving over her shoulder as she began walking away towards the cottage. "And you guys need to do something about your optimistic thinking. Even you do have enough members, you can't get any more men."
"That girl…" Mine growled, glaring at the direction where Chelsea walked off. "She really pisses me the fuck off!"
"Yeah," Sheele growled, surrounding herself in a purple aura that made everyone, except Tatsumi, freeze. "Who the fuck does she think she is?" She was so pissed off that it was taken all her willpower from storming over to the auburn-hair girl and give the girl a piece of her mind. But she took a deep breath to calm down and went to go spend time with her daughter.
Sayo looked down and gritted her teeth in anger before storming away from everyone else. 'I'll show that bitch.' She thought, surrounding herself in a black aura. 'I'll show her that I'm not a naïve little girl.'
"Sayo, wait!" Leone yelled, running after to the dark-hair girl and hoping to calm her down.
"Tatsumi, what do you think we should-" Mine started to speak but stopped when she saw the look on her crush's face. The brown-hair assassin was glaring at cottage with a look of fury on his face.
'I really don't want to admit it, Sayo, Spear, but…Chelsea's right.' Tatsumi thought, tightly balling his until his knuckles turned white. 'Even though it's harsh to hear it, Spear, Sayo, but what Chelsea was actually doing is giving you advice to boost your determination and thinking to survive the war.' A deep sigh left Tatsumi's mouth as he ran a hand through his hair. 'How can words be so-"
His thoughts were interrupted when he felt a comforting hand on his arm. Turning to his left, Tatsumi was surprised to see Mine staring at him, her eyes filled with concerned and worried.
"Tatsumi…" Mine said in a worried tone, as she still kept her hand on Tatsumi's arm. "Are you alright?"
A warm feeling soared into Tatsumi's heart as he stared back at Mine's pick eyes. Despite teasing Mine for a few weeks, he was glad that she shows concerns towards him. "I'm fine, Mine." He said with a small smile, though the smile was a bit forced.
"Are you sure?" Mine asked, knowing that Tatsumi's smile was a bit forced.
Tatsumi nodded. "I'm really fine, Mine." He repeated, placing a hand on Mine's head and rubbed it. "But thanks for asking. It's really nice that you were worried about me." Mine let out a light gasp when she felt Tatsumi's hand on her head.
"I-I wasn't w-worried about you…" Mine stammered, turning away to hide her red face and moving away from Tatsumi a bit. "And you d-don't need to t-t-thank me…"
"Right." Tatsumi said, still having that small smile on his face before he suddenly grabbed Mine and lifted her off the ground, while rubbing his face against her cheek. "Blushing Mine is so cute and adorable!"
'Damn it! Why do you have to do that?!' Mine screamed in her head, still having that fierce blush on her face. She may be embarrassed by what Tatsumi did, but she was happy that she can feel more of his warmth. She managed to pry herself away from him and put a bit of distance away. 'This warmth…I want to feel it all the time. I have to tell him my feelings.'
Spear was looking at the ground with her hair covering her eyes, feeling depressed and pissed at the same time. Depressed that all the hard work she had been doing was not good enough, and pissed that Chelsea was insulting her and her skills. Ever since she joined Night Raid, she had been training endlessly to make sure that she doesn't get injured again, especially after what happened when she faced against those three men that tried to kill her and her Father…but it seems that it wasn't enough.
'Maybe Chelsea's right…maybe I am a naïve little girl…' Spear thought, as tears began to pool into her eyes. 'All the train I've been doing wasn't enough, and even though I did a couple of small missions…it's not enough to make at least a master assassin a bit proud.'
She was pulled from her thoughts when she felt a hand on her shoulder, and she turned to her left to look at Tatsumi's concern face.
"Hey, don't listen to her, Spear." Tatsumi said softly, wrapping his arms around the blond-hair girl, who gladly accepted it. "You're not a naïve girl."
"B-but…" Spear stuttered, sniffling a bit.
"No buts." Tatsumi said, silencing the girl. "I know what she said was harsh but think of it as a boost of determination to make you a better assassin." His words were causing Spear's heart to beat faster, and she can feel a warmth of comfort inside her. "Think about my words, and you will show Chelsea that you are not a naïve girl, Spear." He then walked away to go spend time with Lilac.
'This warm feeling…' Spear mused, as she placed a hand over her beating heart. 'I want to feel it all the time.' She then clenched her fist and had a face of determination. 'I have been waiting for a while, but my feelings have reached its maximum point. I'm going to make my move tonight.'
"For the time being," Susanoo said, grabbing one of the Danger-Beast he hunted with Sheele and Akame and started pulling them towards the temporary base. "let's cook up all the Danger-Beasts we slay."
"Yeah, I can't wait to eat more of Susanoo's cooking." Akame said, drooling at the thought of tasting more of Susanoo's cooking.
"(Growl) Read the mood!" Mine yelled, throwing her arms in the air before storming off to her room.
Everyone member of Night Raid headed towards kitchen to have a delicious lunch.
(That Night; Outside of Night Raid's Temporary base; With Tatsumi, Mine and Lubbock.)
It was nighttime, and Mine, Lubbock and Tatsumi were outside, sitting by a campfire. The last member was feeling a bit tired from fighting Danger-Beasts and doing what he lost against: Massaging Sayo and Spear. He had spent all day massaging them, and he did not complain about it since he enjoyed hearing their moans of pleasure and approval.
"So, why did you call us out here, Mine?" Tatsumi asked, sitting on a tree stump and stared at the fire. "I was about to tuck Lilac into bed."
"I know that Chelsea's words had bother you, Tatsumi. Despite saying you were fine." Mine said, staring at the fire with a frown. Her hair was a bit damp and she was wearing a white pajama dress. "How she criticized Sayo and Spear and told them they were disappointments."
"Well…I…" Tatsumi muttered a bit before releasing a light sigh. "I admit, I was angry at what Chelsea said, but I think she was giving them advice."
"Advice?" Lubbock repeated, quirking an eyebrow. "How can Chelsea give Sayo and Spear advice if she insulted them?"
"When she was giving us her opinion, did you both noticed the sadness in her voice when she mentioned the last team she was assigned to?" Tatsumi asked, making Lubbock and Mine nodded their heads. They had noticed that Chelsea did look sad when she mentioned the last team she was assign to. "Well, I might have a theory about why she said those things."
"And that would be?" Mine asked in a confused tone.
"That she cares about us and doesn't want to lose another team again." Tatsumi replied, thinking about the words Chelsea said a couple hours ago.
Mine and Lubbock were silent for a while as they thought about Tatsumi's theory.
"Do you think we should use this information to teach Chelsea a lesson?" Lubbock asked, after a moment of silence.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Tatsumi replied, shaking his head. "If we use my theory, her next opinion about us might be harsher."
"Well, I still think we need to teach her a lesson." Mine said, crossing her arms over her chest. "We need to show her that our optimistic thinking is great, and our friends are not disappointments. So, here's the plan: You two will do something that will scare the crap out of her, and I will deal the final blow!" She then stood up with confident grin and a fist raised. "It's a genius plan!"
'The last time we tried this, we didn't even do it.' Tatsumi thought, as he remembered what Mine's plan was when she wanted to teach Chelsea a lesson. He sighed a bit and said, "Mine, if we do this, it could cause more trouble than before."
"What do you mean?" Mine asked, losing her grin and sitting next to Tatsumi. "Don't tell me you are taking Chelsea's side, right?"
Tatsumi couldn't reply because he was busy inhaling Mine's strawberry scent that she used when she took a shower. Her scent was so sweet that it made a light blush spread across Tatsumi's face, and it was alluring him so much that he wanted to go grab Mine, take her to his room, and have his way with her.
'I never noticed Mine's scent before, and I can't believe how nice it is.' Tatsumi thought, cursing himself for being so dense and stupid in the old timeline. 'I'm such a dumbass when I was in the old timeline. I never understood women at all. I curse myself for being dense and stupid.'
"Well?" Mine asked, poking Tatsumi's chest and ending his train of thoughts. "I'm waiting for an answer."
"(Sigh) Fine, I'll help." Tatsumi said, turning his head away from Mine, so that he can stop breathing her strawberry scent. "But how are we going to teach her a lesson? You never told us how."
"You and Lubbock will have to think of something, Tatsumi." Mine replied, as she stood up and fix her dress. "I'll come up with my own plan." She then made her way towards the cottage. "So, start thinking, boys, because we need to complete this mission by tonight. We'll show Chelsea a thing or two!" Seeing both men nod in agreement, Mine quickly entered the cottage and closed the door.
'That should keep Tatsumi busy for a while.' Mine thought, as a sly smile spread across her face. "Because I'm making my move tonight.' She would've blush brightly at her thoughts, but she was a woman on a mission, and she was going to complete it.
Her thoughts were broken when she heard footsteps and she looked up to see Spear walking towards her. "Hey, Spear." She greeted, still having that smile on her face. "What are you doing?"
"Looking for you." Spear said in a serious tone, making Mine widened her eyes a bit. "I need to talk to you in private."
"Alright, let's go to my room and talk." Mine said, losing her smile and becoming serious. She then began leading Spear towards her room.
Back with the men, Tatsumi was muttering under his breath. "Ugh. She's always so pushy and bossy as always."
"You love that side of her." Lubbock said with a grin on his face.
"Yeah, I really do." Tatsumi said with a soft smile, surprising the hell out of Lubbock. He was expecting the brown-hair assassin to tense up again, but it seems that the man was admitting that he likes Mine.
"So, you're admitting that you like Mine?" Lubbock asked, losing his grin and raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah." Tatsumi replied, not losing the soft smile on his face. "I knew that she had feelings for me for a while, and I noticed the way she looks at me."
"If you knew, then why didn't you make a move?" Lubbock asked, still having his eyebrow raised.
"Because I was waiting to see if she changed." Tatsumi replied, losing his smile and stared at the fire. "Even though I love Mine's bossy side, I wanted to bring Mine's feelings out, so she can stop hiding them." A small smile spread across his face. "And it looks like that she and Spear's feelings have reached their maximum point."
"Well, that's just great for you." Lubbock grumbled, as he released a huff of annoyance and irritation. "Najenda was right, you do have a gift to make all the women fall for you. Akame, Sayo, Sheele, Leone…now Mine and Spear. Even Esdeath has a thing for you. For god's sake, how many women are you going to win over?!"
Tatsumi couldn't help but roll his eyes at the green-hair male.
"Next thing I know, you'll be banging either Chelsea or Seryu if she escapes the Capital…" Lubbock muttered, forgetting about the second auburn-hair girl in Night Raid.
Tatsumi mentally face-palmed himself for forgetting about Seryu. 'Damn it! I spent all my time playing with Lilac that I almost forgot about Seryu! She may want to beat me up for forgetting about her!'
(At the Capital's Palace; With the Jaegers.)
The Jaegers were eating a peaceful dinner in silence before it was broken by Seryu.
"Achoo!" Seryu sneezed, making everyone at the table stopped eating and turned to look at her.
"Bless you." Bols said, taking a pause of eating his fish.
"Thanks." Seryu said, grabbing a napkin, and it was a good thing to do that, because she sneezed again. "What the hell?"
"Are you catching a cold?" Wave asked from beside Kurome, who began eating her food again.
"No, Wave." Seryu replied, wiping her nose with a napkin. "I think someone is thinking about me, and I have an urge to beat them up."
"Really?" Esdeath asked, raising a blue eyebrow. "Do you know the person who is thinking about you?
"Hmmm," Seryu mused, putting a hand on her chin, as she began thinking. The Jaegers leaned forward a bit to see what her answer is, only to deflate when she shrugged her shoulders. 'I don't know."
(Back with Tatsumi and Lubbock.)
'I have this sudden feeling that I need to run from Seryu when she joins Night Raid.' Tatsumi thought with an uneasy feeling inside him.
"Anyway," Lubbock said, once he calmed down a bit. "How are we going to teach Chelsea a lesson for saying harsh words to our friends?"
"Hmmm," Tatsumi hummed, putting a hand on his chin as he began thinking. He had a couple ideas, like making the hot spring's water ice cold since he uses a Fire Teigu, but he got rid of it. He didn't want to earn the wrath of the women for getting rid of the hot water. "I have a couple ideas, but the women would be angry at me."
"What was the first idea?" Lubbock asked, looking at Tatsumi with a confused expression.
"Making the hot spring's water cold."
"Ooh, that's a terrible idea." Lubbock said, grimacing at the thought of all the women of Night Raid being angry that the hot spring's water is cold instead of warm. "The women would be pissed at you."
"Yeah, I know." Tatsumi said, releasing a sigh before arching his head backwards and closing his eyes. "There's gotta be another way to teach Chelsea a lesson." It was then that Tatsumi remembered what he did in the old timeline, and since he was a better assassin, he was sure that he can sneak up on Chelsea. "Alright, I think this plan might work!"
"So, what is it?" Lubbock asked, wondering what Tatsumi's new plan was.
(Couple Minutes Later; With Tatsumi.)
'I can't believe I was the one who came up with this plan.' Tatsumi thought with a surprised look on his face, as he crouched behind a rock that was outside the hot springs. 'Even Lubbock was surprised as hell when I told him about the plan.'
(Flashback; With Tatsumi and Lubbock.)
"So, what is it?" Lubbock asked, wondering what Tatsumi's new plan was.
"Chelsea is getting ready to take a bath in the hot springs, right?" Tatsumi asked, making Lubbock nod his head. "So, I'll just sneak in there, grab a bucket of water, changed it into cold water, catch a quick peek of her naked and dump the water on her. She'll be screaming so loudly when the cold water touches her skin."
Lubbock's eyes were wide as saucers, as he stared at Tatsumi in pure disbelief before he stood up and pointed a finger at the brown-hair assassin.
"Who are you and what'd you do with the real Tatsumi?!" Lubbock all but shouted at Tatsumi, who let out an annoyed grunt.
"It's still me, dumbass." Tatsumi said in an annoyed tone before glaring at Lubbock. "And put your hand down, or else I'll break it."
Lubbock immediately put his arm down and scratch the back of his head sheepishly. "Sorry, I was completely surprised when you explained your plan." He may be embarrassed, but his eyes were still wide from what Tatsumi just said.
"Yeah, but it's the only plan I can think of." Tatsumi said, releasing a sigh.
"Well, I think it's a great idea!" Lubbock exclaimed with a huge grin, as he went over to Tatsumi and slapped him on the back. "I never thought that you, of all people, would suggest such a thing!" He then kneeled onto the ground and his eyes became anime white with tears in them. "Tatsumi, you're starting to become a bit like me! I'm so proud of you!"
"I am not becoming like you at all!" Tatsumi exclaimed, glaring at Lubbock. "Well, maybe a little…" His glare disappeared for a second before it returned. "But I'm not becoming like you!"
"It's only a matter of time…" Lubbock said, still having that grin on his face.
"Whatever." Tatsumi said, shrugging his shoulders. "But since this is my plan, I'm going to do it by myself. You, on the other hand, will stay away from the hot springs. And if I found out that you use my plan to peek at Chelsea and the other girls, I'll be pissed."
"Tatsumi, I would never do that!" Lubbock said in a mock offended tone, taking a few steps back. "I respect a woman's privacy."
"Bullshit." Tatsumi said, still glaring at Lubbock, as he stood up. "I mean it, Lubbock. You better stay away from the hot springs or else, I'll kick your ass." To make himself even more intimidating, Tatsumi surrounded himself in a red aura that made Lubbock freeze.
"Okay, okay." Lubbock said, raising his hands up in a surrender gesture. "I won't go near the hot springs anymore." He then stood up and began walking towards the cottage. "Good luck, Tatsumi! You're going to need it!"
As he got near the cottage, a perverted grin spread across Lubbock's face. "Tatsumi's plan was perfect! Now, I can see how mad Chelsea will get when she finds someone spying on her! Then, I'll be in there the whole time!"
(Flashback ends; Back with Tatsumi.)
'Lubbock, you shouldn't say things out loud.' Tatsumi thought, placing a hand over his face. 'Whatever, I'll just let the girls kick his ass. Time to put my plan into motion.'
Making sure that his presence and aura was completely suppressed, Tatsumi silently went inside the hot springs where a certain auburn-hair assassin is. The area was filled with thick and steamy fog that was perfect for Tatsumi. He then carefully picked up a bucket that was filled with water, change the temperature to ice-cold, and made his way towards his target.
In the hot springs, Chelsea let out a happy sigh. "Aah, this is nice…" She said, feeling the hot water touching her body. Next to her was a white towel, a yellow duck and her Teigu. "I haven't felt the hot spring's water for about seven months."
It was true, Chelsea have been doing mission and mission non-stop that she didn't had time to relax in a hot spring. And she was in a desperate need of one.
It was then Chelsea began to think about what she said to Spear and Sayo earlier. A part of her was telling her that she shouldn't say those things and go apologize to them, while her assassin side was telling her that she did the right thing.
"I know what I said to Sayo and Spear was harsh," Chelsea muttered, a frown on her face. "But I really need them to understand that the world isn't a perfect place to be in. The world is filled with corruption and evil, and I didn't know it until I got my Gaea Foundation." A sigh escaped Chelsea's lips as she looked up at the moon, which was shining brightly. "And Night Raid needs to do something about their optimistic thinking. Just because they have a Biological Teigu, doesn't mean that they are invincible."
As Chelsea kept talking to herself, she did not notice that Tatsumi was a few feet away from her, having a smirk on his face. The bucket that was filled with ice-cold water was behind the small boulder that was to his right.
'She's really going to be completely shocked that someone has managed to sneak up on her.' Tatsumi thought, still having that smirk on his face. He then got on his hands and knees and crawled over to Chelsea, who was still looking at the moon. 'And this will be payback for tricking me in the old timeline.'
When he was close enough, Tatsumi whispered in Chelsea's ear, "You really need to keep your guard up, or else you'll get yourself killed."
Chelsea instantly stood up with a splash, a yelp escaping her lips, which Tatsumi found adorable. She quickly got out of the water, showing her bare body and quickly wrapped the white towel around her body. Her eyes were completely wide. She cannot believe it. For the very first time in her life, someone had managed to do the impossible: Someone had managed to sneak up on Chelsea.
'I am so going to give the person a piece of my mind for scaring me like that.' Chelsea thought, her face flushed in anger, as she come up with a couple of threats to keep the person quiet. Making sure the towel was tightly wrapped around her body, she turned around to see…
"Tatsumi!" Chelsea exclaimed; her face still flushed, and her heart began beating faster. "Don't do that! You scared the living shit outta me!"
"AHAHAHA!" Tatsumi laughed loudly, earning a twitchy eyebrow from Chelsea. "You should've seen your face! It was priceless!"
Chelsea felt the urge to smack Tatsumi on the head for laughing at her, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She was thinking about how Tatsumi had managed to sneak up on her without her sensing it.
'He managed to sneak up on me, and he also concealed his aura and presence.' Chelsea thought, staring at Tatsumi with a look of intrigue. 'Not even my five senses can detect him!'
"Is it really that shocking I managed to sneak up on you?" Tatsumi asked, after he stopped laughing, though he did have a smirk on his face.
'Yes!" Chelsea exclaimed, raising her arms in the air in exasperation. "In fact, you are the very first person to even sneak up on me!"
"Really?" Tatsumi asked, his smirk becoming a bit devious. "I'm the first person to sneak up on you?"
Chelsea nodded, becoming a bit nervous when she saw that smirk on Tatsumi's face. She was caught off guard when Tatsumi got onto his knees and raised his hands into the air with a grin on his face. "I'm the best assassin in the world! I managed to sneak up on the Goddess of Trickster, Chelsea!"
Chelsea couldn't help but giggle at Tatsumi's antics, a small blush on her face from the title Tatsumi gave her. Her anger vanishing when she saw that grin on his face. It was innocent and cute in her opinion.
'Goddess of Trickster, huh?' Chelsea thought, still having that small blush on her face before she managed to get rid of it. 'That's a title for me to have.'
"So, Tatsumi. What brings you in the hot springs?" Chelsea asked, once Tatsumi calmed down a bit. She leaned forward to give him a good view of her cleavage, while putting one hand on her hips. Tatsumi firmly kept his eyes on Chelsea's face, while ignoring her little seduce trick. "You didn't come in here just to scare me, right?"
"No, I didn't came in here to scare you, Chelsea." Tatsumi replied, raising his hands up. "And I'm sorry for bothering you. Mine was pretty upset from what you said earlier, and she wanted to get back at you. I got dragged along with it."
"And you're not upset from what I said to Sayo and Spear?" Chelsea asked, slightly cocking her head to the side.
"I was pretty angry about it." Tatsumi admitted with a frown on his face, as he sat down on the ground and crossed his legs. "But I figure out that you don't go around and insult people because what they believe in. Even though I managed to catch you off guard, you pointed out that an assassin should be wary when they are sneaking up to an enemy." Chelsea's eyes widened slightly from Tatsumi's words.
'He's observant.' Chelsea thought, her interested of Tatsumi had increased ten-fold.
"Like Sayo and Spear, I too thought that the Capital is a place where dreams come true."
"Really?" Chelsea couldn't help but blurted out and stared at Tatsumi with wide eyes. She couldn't believe that Night Raid's best assassin would believe that the Capital is a place where dreams come true. "You thought the Capital was a nice place?"
"Yeah." Tatsumi nodded his head. "But once I saw how corrupted it is, and how they treat people, I was disgusted to think that the Capital is a nice place." Tatsumi looked at the ground when he remembered entering the Capital for the first time. "And that corruption almost killed my friend."
There was silence for a moment before Tatsumi broke it with a sigh. "But let's go back to your question, okay?" Chelsea nodded. "Like everyone else in Night Raid, you have experienced a great deal of pain before, and you're just looking out for us."
"Heh, you're pretty observant, Tatsumi. And I must admit, I'm impressed even more." Chelsea said, turning away from Tatsumi and walked towards the hot springs before stopping at the edge. "And you're right. I have experienced a great deal of pain before." Chelsea's hair shadowed her eyes, as she lowered her head. "Just recently, I came home from a mission to find my whole team slaughtered. I…I would be totally devastated if that would happen to you guys. I can't stand losing another team." Her voice became sad and became quivered when she mentioned her old team. "I'm tired of losing people I care about."
Tatsumi looked at Chelsea with sadness in his eyes. He knew what team Chelsea was talking about. She was talking about the Revolutionary Army's Regional Team that had been wiped out a couple months ago.
'I feel the same way you do, Chelsea.' Tatsumi thought, as memories of his dead friends rushed into his head. He can feel the stinging and wetness in his eyes, but he did not dare let them fall. He was not going to cry. 'I feel the same way.' Tatsumi then clenched his fists before a small smile spread across his face.
"Wow…I never thought I would see the day…"
Chelsea raised an eyebrow in confusion when Tatsumi said that. She turned around to face him, only to be surprised again when she saw a toothy grin on Tatsumi's face.
"You're a lot sweeter than I thought you were! You really care about us!" Tatsumi's comment caused a bright blush to spread across Chelsea's pale face, with her heart beating faster again. She didn't want Tatsumi to see her blush, so she grabbed a bucket of water.
"Am not!" Chelsea exclaimed, splashing Tatsumi with the bucket of hot spring water. "I'm just looking out my mental well-being like anyone should!"
"Really? Looking after your well-being?" A voice said from behind Chelsea, and she whirled around to see Tatsumi leaning against a boulder, having that damn smirk on his face. It took Chelsea a minute to realized that he had dodged her attempt to hit him with water. "I'd do the same thing if I was in your place."
'Shit, he's fast.' Chelsea thought with slight nervousness, realizing that Tatsumi can play her game.
Tatsumi began walking back to where he was standing earlier, with Chelsea following his movements. "But it seems that there is a difference between you and me. Unlike you, I don't hide my feelings." He said, pointing a finger at the auburn-hair girl. "Could it be…that you're shy and don't want anyone to know your feelings? What happened to the teasing and mischievous side you had, Chelsea?"
"…" Chelsea didn't say anything, only narrowing her eyes at the brown-hair assassin.
"Not going to say anything?" Tatsumi asked, noticing that the auburn-hair girl was quiet. "That's fine. I guess I was right about the difference between you and me." Tatsumi suddenly stopped and turned towards Chelsea with a serious look, something that made Chelsea nervous again.
Before Chelsea can say anything, the brown-hair assassin rushed at her and picked her up off the ground, while rubbing his face against her cheek. "Blushing Chelsea is so cute and adorable!"
"Get off me!" Chelsea exclaimed, her bright blush turned a brighter shade of red. She managed to get out of Tatsumi's grip and put a few distance away from each other. "And I'm not blushing!"
"Are you sure?" Tatsumi teased, leaning forward a bit. "Your face is awfully red."
Deciding to scare Tatsumi off, a sickly-sweet smile spread across Chelsea's face. 'Oh, Tatsumi…the next time you sneak up on me while I'm bathing…" Her voice was also sickly sweet, as she started making scissor motions with her fingers. "I won't hesitate to cut them off…you have been warned-" She was cut off when she suddenly felt the towel around her body pulled off.
"EEEP!" Chelsea squeaked in embarrassment, gazing down at her naked body before looking up at Tatsumi, who's smirk became bigger. She quickly crouched down on the ground, covering her breasts with one arm and her womanhood with the other, and closed her eyes tightly, hoping that Tatsumi would go away.
"Well, what a night! I should get going!" Tatsumi shouted, walking away from the hot springs with Chelsea's towel in his hand. "Oh, sorry about this, Chelsea! This got stuck in my hand for some reason…" He threw the towel towards the hot springs, with the white fabric landing at the rocky edge before the water. He then walked out of the hot springs, leaving an embarrassed auburn-hair woman.
"Good, he's finally gone…" Chelsea said, opening her eyes a bit to see if Tatsumi was gone, and to her great relief, he was no longer in the hot springs. Sighing heavily, she stood up and noticed a bucket of water near a boulder.
Feeling a need of water on herself, Chelsea walked over to it and picked it up. "Damn, he got me, and I thought for sure that he would run away from my threat." She said, raising the bucket over herself. Her face suddenly became red again, as she put one hand on her beating heart. "This is the second time I felt this. What is this feeling?" She then dumped the water on herself.
If anyone was in the hot springs right now, they would've heard a shrill scream that pierce the quiet forest.
(Night Raid's Temporary base; With Tatsumi.)
"Man, that felt good, taking Chelsea's towel away. And from the sounds of that scream, she must've dumped the cold water on herself." Tatsumi said, chuckling from what he did to Chelsea. "Though, this is the first time I hear her scream and yelped. It's so adorable."
Still chuckling, Tatsumi grabbed a fresh set of clothes from his room and made his way towards the showers. After a couple of minutes, he came out of the showers, wearing a pair of black pajama pants. A towel was on his head, as he began drying his hair off. Opening the door to his room, Tatsumi was surprised that Akame, Sheele, Leone and Sayo weren't waiting for him.
"Well, it looks like I'm sleeping alone tonight." Tatsumi said, once he finished drying his hair off and set the wet towel in a laundry basket. He then glanced at the clock and noticed that it was almost midnight. "I'm not feeling tired, so I might as well read a book before I go to bed." Tatsumi turned on the lamp that was beside his bed and pulled out a book.
However, before Tatsumi can even start reading, he heard an unexpected knock on his door. "Who could that be?" He muttered to himself, as he put the book away and got up from the bed. Expecting one of his lovers, Tatsumi walked over to door and opened it. He was surprised to see Spear and Mine, both looking a bit flustered. "Mine? Spear? What are you two doing here?"
"Hi, Tatsumi. Can we come in?" Mine and Spear both asked, slightly fidgeting. "We need to tell you something important."
