Someone watched many people and dragons coming out of the portal where the Sorceress was hidden. He watched it. The individual was the Sorcerer, watching the even unfolding before his eyes. He dark cloak floated as the wind blew strongly on his side.

"Well… Well…" he noticed the dark purple dragon who flew above the Rhynocs who tried to take him down. A few other dragons followed that one in question, "Looks like he got one of the Forbidden Artifacts," he played his hands together. He noticed the young purple dragon in the arms of a green dragon, "And another purple dragon, paler," he scratched his chin. There was a third purple dragon, but that one didn't get his attention like the other two. Those two, he felt something that stood out from the others, "Looks like I have to keep an eye on those dragons," he used his magic to follow them. He had to observe those two dragons. Not only because of the color of their scales, but also the great magic coming out of them.

Chapter 65: Towards Liberation

One the group passed the portal, they split up. The only one who didn't traverse yet were Trondo, Hunter and Bianca who waited for the confusion of the fight to settle in and discreetly passed them.

Gunnar led the charge against the many Rhynocs in their ways. It wasn't long before the battle became chaotic and Rhynocs flew in the air as many punched them or smashed them hard.

The green dragon left no openings, even with his eyepatch. He blocked any attacks coming at him and broke the enemy's weapon. He focused on disarming them quickly and let the others finished them.

Bubba chuckled loudly. With one punch, he was strong enough to beat more than one dragon. He dodged the swords and spears and with one swift move, he put many of them on the ground with his tail.

Bruno prepared his spell with Emilie by his side. He carefully observed some of the Rhynocs at the back and turned the ground into mid.

They began to panic as they dragged their feet on the ground. The Yeti smirked and used their clubs as a golf club and sent them in the air.

The three humans used their gadget and many sleep darks hit the Rhynocs who felt on the ground, sleeping soundly. Many of the habitants quickly restrained them and pulled them away as the battle went on.

Emilie casted her spell and ice shards felt from the sky. They looked like hammers as they smashed the enemies and some seemed to lose a foot or two of their usual size. One of them was either flattened or buried on the ground. They couldn't see as an ice cube was still on him.

Everything was going fine for now. The habitants had the guts to fight back. They didn't run away and the Rhynocs began to back away.

Gunnar frowned as he didn't see Demitrious anywhere. He remained vigilant. He hoped Titan was the one to deal with him, as the only dragon who had a weapon was Bruno.

It was then that the trio who remained behind passed the portal. They saw many Rhynocs sent in the air while they lost a part of their armor.

"Let's go," Bianca whispered as they sneak around the battlefield. No one noticed them as they were too busy fighting.

They were on the other side of the battlefield and they cautiously went forward.

As they approached their first destination where the Sorceress might be, Nestor grew a little nervous. He held Spyro in his arms and was uncertain if it was a good idea to bring him with them. He knew the youngling would try to sneak around, but it made him uneasy to put his life in danger.

"Don't worry dad. I handle many bad guys on my own," Spyro said to reassure his him.

Sparx reminded the Carpenter of their previous experiences.

Malefor gazed at them, "Even so Spyro, this is the Sorceress we are talking about. You need to be extra careful against her."

"I know," the purple dragon replied, "I fought against Ripto when he tried to conquer Avalar and it went well. I came back okay," he smiled at him.

Magnus and Nestor lightly paled at the mention of that name. The two gazed at each other's, something the dark purple dragon noticed.

"The Sorceress is different. If you had no problem against Ripto and Zantor struggled against her, I think you know you have to be extra careful," Malefor warned him.

With the mention of one of his dads having problem, the child was pensive.

Sparx suggested to listen to his warnings and be careful. More than he was before against someone who could curse the dragons.

"Right," he nodded at them. The child remembered he almost got beaten by one of those Beast made by the Beast Makers in the past.

They reached their first destination. They flew over it and observed down below.

"I don't think she's there," Titan concluded. He frowned and grumbled, "Neither Demitrious."

"We must continue our search. We need to find them quickly end this once and for all," Halvor told his leader.

"Let's go," Nestor nodded as they continued to their next destination.

They saw a Rhynocs flew past them before it landed on the ground.

"Looks like they are having some fun back there," Titan gazed back.

"I do not see that as fun," Nestor countered at the sight of the battle that flew near them.

"We focus defeating the Sorceress," Spyro looked at their next destination, "Then those bad guys will run away and leave this realm alone. She will not hurt my family again."

"Yes," Malefor commented as a small smile was on his face.

The dragons wondered what he might have in his mind to stop the Sorceress once and for all.

Titan didn't like it one bit. His instinct told him it might not be what they were all thinking.

They reached their next destination. There was a large tower and it shot a few things at them. The dragons dodged a few large rocks coming at them and split up.

Titan looked down and saw Demitrious, "I'll take care of that Rhynoc."

Nestor watched down and saw a few Rhynocs with him, "He's not alone."

Halvor and Magnus looked at each other's. Halvor chuckled, "Good luck with them" I'll fight with Titan," he flew down and joined him.

The large dragon watched the pale purple dragon following his leader. He grumbled that he was lucky, before he turned toward Spyro. He knew he had to fight extra hard to protect the child.

Zantor checked his cards and noticed they were getting a little used up. They were in a great state and could be safely used for a few more battles, "I'll make more cards after this," and added to make them more durable. They were never tested for many battles like that.

They went towards their next destination.

Titan and Halvor landed on the ground. Their weapons out. They landed on the top of the tower and faced Demitrious.

The Rhynoc furiously glared at them, "So you finally showed up. I was expecting more of you," he watched the battle from a distance, before drawing his sword and pointing it at them, "Still. You will soon fall one by one. Few of your allies are warriors. Those humans won't be able to hold on forever."

"Few of you can cast magic. Bianca abandoned you and the Sorceress is hiding from us," Titan replied as he played with his axe.

Halvor walked towards the door that led to the top of the tower, "I'll make sure this battle is between you two. There seems there is some bad blood between you two. I mean, you were annoying my leader a little. A little more than a minor threat, but big enough to cause a little bit of trouble," he put some emphasis on little.

Demitrious was infuriated, "Minor! I am stronger than you dragon!"

Titan played with his axe, "With everyone around, I have to be careful where I strike. This time, I won't hold back because a young child might need my help. There is only you, me and Halvor here," he spun his weapon in his hand. After a few seconds, his grip tightened up and was ready to fight. His foot slid on the ground as his muscles tensed.

The dragons and the Rhynoc looked at each other's.

"Don't worry, none of them will pass me," Halvor waved at them as he showed his hammer to the Rhynoc.

Demitrious grunted and prepared to fight the dragon. He let out a war cry and charged. His sword failed to pass the guard of the dragon. He swung a few times and without passing it, he jumped back. He avoided a few strikes from the axe and rolled away. He blocked more swings coming at him. He needed a chance to strike the dragon.

Titan seriously gazed at the other dragon and did everything to force an opening from the Rhynoc. He wouldn't drop his guard for a second.

Halvor watched the fight, but heard reinforcements coming from the stairs. He opened the door and climbed down. He stood over them with his hammer, "Try and pass me. I have the high ground!" He always wanted to do that since he read that book.

No one understood what he was referring too. He didn't care as he smashed them down the tower.

Malefor saw their destination. It was a large colosseum. His instinct told him that the Sorceress was there. She had to be there. He could already taste their victories. He gazed at the other dragons and Spyro. He had to be honest to himself. He couldn't have done it without any of them. He already planned something for the Sorceress. He focused on the young purple dragon at those thoughts. He didn't know what Spyro would think of him afterward.

"Spyro."

"What is it dad?"

"I'm grateful we met. Never forget that," he told him.

"I know. You are a great dad. In your own way," he smiled at him.

The other dragons weren't certain about it.

"Spyro. Once this is over, it will be for the best to not call me dad anymore," the dark purple dragon suddenly warned him.

"Hum? Why?" he innocently asked.

Sparx asked why he would suggest such a thing after everything. He buzzed that he completely proved he was a good dragon. Something he couldn't believe he said himself.

The three dragons just knew he had something sinister in his mind.

Malefor didn't reply.

"Why dad?"

The child never got his answer as they reached the colosseum. They all flattened on an invisible barrier. They painfully grunted as they slid down until they reached the snow.

Malefor put his hand on his snout, "Again!"

"Again?" the others asked as they got over the pain.

They got no answer for that too.

"You're okay Spyro?" Nestor asked with a bit of a flattened snout.

"I'm okay. Nothing painful," he gazed up and saw that his dragonfly looked okay, "And you buddy?"

He got a thumbs up.

They stood up and observed the barrier.

Zantor used his cards to analyse the magic on the barrier, "It is a strong one. I'm surprise she could make one like that without the dark gem."

He closed his eyes and tried to feel the magic. He took a deep breath and focused on it. He felt the magic out of it. He frowned. He didn't like it, "There is something… I don't like about this magic. It's not just the Sorceress magic," he turned towards the other dragons, "Whatever the magic source is, we have to get it away from her."

"Another dark gem?" Nestor asked.

"No. Something else. I can't put my finger on it. Whatever it is, we must stop her," the Magic Crafter searched for a way to break the barrier.

Spyro pouted as they were to a stop. They couldn't progress at all. His best friend buzzed that all they could do was waiting. There was nothing else for now.

The purple dragon agreed. He had to stay with his dads. At the same time, what Malefor didn't say was hunting his mind, "Why wouldn't I call you dad anymore?" he whispered his question.

AC: This is the end of this chapter.

Next: The Sorceress Invitation.

The heroes couldn't get in the barrier, but the Sorceress invited Spyro to fight her alone. What would him and his dads do?
