A/N: Several of you still believe that I am just using an OC, and you are partially correct. But it's still Naruto nonetheless, however with an unorthodox feel around him, and a whole new perspective.
To understand this better, go watch the movie "Selfless", starring Ryan Reynolds. After watching this movie, I believe you will see where I am going with this. If after that you still believe I am not using Naruto, then all the best to you. My idea may be unorthodox and probably unheard of in fandom, but I am sticking with it, and besides I did add Kurama to the mix, though in an unorthodox manner. What connects this OC with Naruto is more than just memories, but all in due time.
The Naruto we all know and love grew old in this story and he died.. Now he occupies someone else's body and is merged with another's soul, so definitely he won't be canon naruto hence the conflict within himself as the canon version was like a freaking messiah in his world, but now he is different, calculating, less forgiving, manipulative and with no chakra. If he was light in the Narutoverse, he is gonna be darkness in this one, but a necessary darkness for a time. Of course there is bound to be conflict and i did say in the summary that the "powers of fate" had something to do with this.
He is not yet the strongest, but he is still strong enough to deal with major threats like the Hulk and Thor.. In other words he isn't OP if that's what most of you are after, at least not OP in this base form as of now as there are a lot more i have yet to reveal. This story is still like 25 to 35 chapters away from completion, so y'all should chill and if you can't then why are you still here?
An OP Naruto way too early can destroy a story as i have seen that many times especially when you add a very large and unrealistic harem to the mix with no build up. An OC Naruto with good background is the best for me when reading fanfiction and i took that challenge to a whole new level..
To the reviewer who believes depowering Naruto was unnecessary, well i can't change it now so just be patient and go with the flow of the story as i still more in store.
This chapter and the next will be less on Naruto and more on the OC i created alongside other Avenger scenes i skipped in the last chapter...
This will be the last A/n that i will make this long. No more explanations on my part as i feel like i have explained enough.
Check the latter A/n at the end of the chapter for more.
So let's move.
Chapter 6: The unknown variables and lessons from the past
Sometimes you must lose what you once loved to gain what is most needed.
With what i have now, i can never wish to get back what i lost because i would have only been held back from my true potential.
I am an Unknown, but soon i will no longer be...
There were many pictures she had painted her life to be when she got older, but this and what she had experienced over the years wasn't a picture she had in mind.
First it was the 2nd world war, then her parents were killed with she being all alone, with absolutely nothing to her name.
Then she was kidnapped along with other girls, drugged, molested and used as an underage prostitute.
Yeah what a life she lived indeed, but fortunately for her, after so long of living in darkness there was a shining light came into her world, one that she had thought forgotten about her.
It was her long time uncle Nathan that came to her rescue, and from that day onward, her life changed forever.
A lot of impossibilities became possible, and the woman she was today was all thanks to him and what he had made her to be.
"Never give up, never back down, always strive to be better... Make this your code of life from this day onward and integrate yourself fully into it... I assure you that it will change your life forever"
These were his words to her all those years ago, and truly living according to them did change her life, though it wasn't always for the best, but the bad days were behind her.
Now, she had to focus on the present, a present where her Uncle Nathan no longer existed. In fact, the truth was that he never existed.
The name and title was just a facade covering up who he truly was, something she eventually discovered over the years.
She didn't care...
It was terrifying at first, crazy even but she got used it and even learned to appreciate his true nature, one that she derived a lot of life changing lessons from.. It wasn't easy for him to become the person he was today as he had to go through a whole lot of changes, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually..
He was still adapting to the change even after all these years but he had made quite the progress and so had she..
Now she was a follower of someone she considered the most powerful man she ever had the chance of knowing, maybe even the most powerful being, though that was debatable with his current level of strength..
Kage Ryu, a.k.a Scorpion, The Shadow, The white death amongst other Names, of which he was currently Known as "Dragon" was the man whom she followed and worked with. To the outside world he was an anonymous billionaire, a mysterious man with an even more mysterious past whom loved his privacy and quiet, but in reality he was the most influential and most dangerous man alive, probably of all time.
A few people as well as some prominent organizations had some question marks about him, but none knew him like she did, not even the "others".
She had witnessed him rise from a man who was confused about his identity (though he was still at odds within himself) to a man who could take the whole world before anyone would realize it. That was saying something considering the level of technological advancement which made it very difficult to keep things hidden.
A certain African country could do the latter and had done so for centuries, so why couldn't "they" remain hidden with all the resources at their disposal.
But of course Kage wouldn't make such an attempt to take over the world, not because he was righteous, no that ship had sailed in his previous life, it was because he saw no need for such. For now though...
Besides according to him, it would be too "troublesome" to do so.
It was so like him...
Was he perfect? No he was not, but to her he was and always will be good enough.
He may no longer be her "Uncle Nathan", but he had been everything she ever needed and that was good enough. Well everything except one, but that didn't matter as there was only so much she could ask for. He had done enough for her after all..
A new name, a new life and of course power beyond her imagination was also an added bonus.
If he was the "Dragon", then she was his Fang, one that would do anything to keep him in power by biting off anyone who opposed him. She owed him that much, at least in her eyes because he always did give her a choice to leave him if she wanted..
Her response.. "Shut up" and then she would smack the back of his head like a big sister beating sense into her younger brother.. Sometimes it felt like she was the older one with his reckless and childish attitude... It was rare but it did happen now and then..
Could he not protect himself?
Of course he fucking could. But he wasn't all powerful, nor was he all knowing, something he openly admitted a lot of times. But even with that she never saw him as weak, nor will she ever...
This was where she and the "others" came in, though as for the "others" their parts to play were best left unknown as they best worked in the shadows...
She was and had always been the one in the spotlight, making sure things were falling into place, and though Kage wouldn't admit it out loud, he kept her around so she could keep him company. He was a lonely man after all, and she was the closest thing to family in this life of his, and in the new life she had chosen.
Did she miss her old life with her parents alive and the world at peace? Sometimes...
Did she want it back? Absolutely not..
Kage had taught her to never wish for the past or dwell on it, him being a prime example. He had accepted his past would forever remain as such and despite how controversial his new life was, he had learned to live with it..
So as his student, she had learned to do the same...
Anfisa Mitrovic was dead, her name was Blossom Ryu, but to many of her associates she was known and lady Ryu, the adopted sister of Kage Ryu which by definition also made her a billionaire as she acted as the one who kept a close eye on all his finances and assets.
The name "Blossom" was given to her by him because she reminded him someone in his past. Someone he considered a friend and dare he say a "sister".
So he saw her as a Sister huh?...
She did her best not to think about that, but somewhere deep down it stung a little after all this time they had been together.. One would have expected him to see her as more just as she saw him as more, but she would never dare say it to his face.. He had done more than enough for her already.
At least having such a title had a lot of perks, so she couldn't really complain especially with how many people she got to trample on and "handle" in her own way.
If anyone wanted to get to him, they had to go through her. Most of them never went past her, especially anyone who had the slightest hint of being a spy or an assassin.
Over the years, there were much more of the former than the latter, but she took care of them. All of them, and sometimes, personally with brutal efficiency...
That was until "she" came...
It was the one and only Natasha Romanoff, the last person in the world she wanted near her adopted brother...
She was the only one in the last few years to ever get past her to see her "brother", which against her better judgement was by the instructions given by Kage himself.
It seemed he actually wanted the woman to get to him, something which really annoyed her, and the fact that he wasn't exactly forthcoming with his reasons annoyed her even further...
Since when did he keep secrets from her?..
Was his fascination with Red heads the reason for humoring the spy?..
Well such wasn't so far fetched as Kage did have fondness for Red heads, something she wasn't so surprised with as he had told her about someone of great importance from his past life, who was a red head.
A very hot headed and deadly one at that, the one who served as the reason for his existence in his past life.
It was his mother...
Of all people and red heads in the world, this woman was someone she would never recommend to go near Kage, both for security and personal reasons, but he seemed to beg the differ for some reason, a reason that she believed was deeper than his fondness for deadly, red headed women.
Having the one eyed director of SHIELD in the know to an extent was bad enough, now this woman under the guise of the very same organization, it didn't sit well with her.
Now they had a world changing situation on their hands, the very same organization were now at their doorstep for help with the same red head serving as their messenger. What could go wrong?
One would have thought Fury would have the balls to come to them directly, but it seemed the man was just as cunning as expected.
It was pathetic and cowardly, to her at least..
She never liked the man, something she ever so often let Kage know about, but he always waved it off.
"A lot of things we don't like turn out to be more useful to us. Nothing is useless until its dead, and Fury is very much alive and useful. So suck it up"
This was Kage's final statement to her on the matter, and he truly did have a point.. The man was useful to a degree...
Since then she kept her thoughts about the one eyed man to herself.
With their involvement with SHEILD, No, scratch that. More like Fury under the guise of the security organization attempted association with them, a lot of questions were gonna be asked, questions that she had been keeping unanswered for so long, and it was all because of Kage's, well recklessness.
As much as she cared about her "adopted brother", sometimes she just wanted to strangle him.
This was one of those times.
Currently she was seated in the control room of SHIELD'S ship, dressed up as one of the operatives and playing the part of an expert computer analyst.
She had to blend in so much that anyone who looked at her wouldn't take notice of anything out of place, and while that wasn't a problem, the place was just too open and too many people were around.
She didn't like being so exposed.
Her posture, her countenance, facial expression, everything had to fit as that of an employee of SHIELD, something she hadn't done in quite a long time. A very very long time...
Was it too much for her to handle? Absolutely not.
But she absolutely didn't have to like it. She hated having to pretend for anything as she had left that life behind long ago. Yes, she was into the business of spy work and even assassinations in the earlier days, creating her own organization of orphaned spies and trained killers.
That was a long time ago, though it seemed her legacy lived on even to this current day, but that was a story for another time.
Being a spy or going undercover was no longer something she did, both she and Kage had people for that after all, lots of people even in SHIELD.
Yeah, spies were in the organization, for years actually, a lot of them kept a low profile with only very capable few occupying key positions with none of its higher ups being none wiser, not even Fury.
It was a necessary tactic to stay ahead of the herd and always be in control, as in a world of lies, deception and politics, key information and control was everything, even if it was from behind the scenes.
But despite all that, sometimes one just had to get the job done themselves and this was one of those times, at least according to Kage.
"Wealth is never a reason for complacency. Get your hands dirty when you have to, and use the wealth to cover your tracks. Wealthy resources aren't for pleasure, they are for protection"
Being a "hands on" individual from time, these were his words to her and she took them to heart.
Despite living by this principle over the years, a part of her did feel he sent her on this mission to spite her a little.
Yeah, even Kage wasn't above being petty.
It was a human like part of him which wasn't so bad, but sometimes it was ridiculous.
The world was in danger of being invaded and she was here playing spy with an uncomfortable disguise.
Bloody hell!
"Stop bitching Kitten, we are almost done already, besides you don't look so bad with this disguise of yours" said the female computer voice in her head.
This was Kitty, one out of the 9 AI's with her peculiar design.
Yeah there were 8 others of her kind, with Kurama being the highest ranked, and despite there being other AI's in existence, these 9 were one of a kind.
While the tech behind them was most peculiar, and quite frankly beyond her full understanding, Blossom had to marvel at the fact that these 9 were created and designed off the memories of Kage's past life, and according to him were almost identical to their originals in almost every way
To design AI's was one thing, but to design them off the life of someone who technically shouldn't have existed and completely outside the concept of the reality they live in, well that was really something.
Even the memories of the originals were designed for the AI's according to what Kage could remember about them. It was like a piece of their past life was taken and redesigned to fit the new.
A new lifeform, albeit a digital one, created from an old one, from the memories of its previous host.
It was quite overwhelming and frankly she didnt wanna know much about it. The finished product and how useful it was, that was what she cared about.
They had to thank "their" advanced technology and "Doctor" for that, but that was also a story for another time.
Boy would it be quite the story indeed.
The point was, both she and Kage were blessed, very much so and she would never trade the life she was living right now for anything.
Having an AI like Kitty which was designed specifically for her and attuned to her DNA was really a blessing, though sometimes it was an annoyance.
Kitty could access all her memories, even going as far as to "feel" her emotions, her most personal ones, and while that wasn't so bad, it tended to be irritating when the AI would use it against her.
Especially with the teasing and a bit of chastising as well.
According to Kage, it was a natural part of the Originals personality, though toned down a bit.
Blossom didn't want to imagine how the original would have been like. That may be too much for her to handle.
"Believe me kitten , you would love the original me" Answered the AI, having read her thoughts.
Blossom just ignored her.
(Readers take note, this AI business is just an idea, so pardon me for not going into too much details about it as i am not a tech guy. I would like to keep this simple enough, and over time will explain more about this as i learn more about the possibilities that come with advanced technology. But the idea of using the bijuu as AI's is here to stay]
Blossom's job here was basically to covertly re-integrate some data bugs into the SHIELD hellicarrier server, destroying all previous bug traces placed by their own people in the organization before the ship was fully launched.
Information was key and both she and Kage made sure that they had both physical and digital spies in all aspects of the world economy, especially the so called security aspect.
The world wasn't secure, it had never been and will only become less secure as the years go by with how much data the government's were selling about their citizens.
SHIELD was at the top of this leaderboard as they were the ones who a lot of these data were being sold to and so access to all information flowing through them was very vital. More like world changing, of course there was also the other version of SHEILD within itself, a more sinister version but such would be dealt with at an appropriate time.
Both she and Kage made sure they were on top of things and thankfully once again it was all due to their immense resources and advanced technology which gave them a worldwide network of information..
What was the essence of having advanced technology if you weren't gonna use it?
Having physical spies was good and all, but direct access to the flow of world changing info was even better. That's where the advanced tech came into play as not only could the data bugs remain undetected for an extended period, there was no firewall or security system they couldn't bypass while remaining completely undetected. The only reason why they had them manually filtered from time to time was to avoid complacency and overreliance on technology.
Kage's orders as he was never one for complacency.
While Blossom agreed with such philosophy, they had people to handle such things, in fact they had people to handle different kinds of tasks, many of which she didn't have the faintest clue of who they were considering how many they were, but that didn't matter as there was an identification system in place. A very unique and peculiar one, similar to a certain African country who also had an unknown level of identified technology.
That was also a story for another time.
The point was that there was absolutely no need for her to be doing this.
"You are bitching again kitten. Its unhealthy you know"
Once again, Blossom ignored the AI.
'Why did they have to design AI's with such provocative personalities?'
"Having such thoughts isn't gonna get rid of me. I am a part of you and you of me, i would have thought you knew that or has your whining gotten the better of you?
It was just for a moment, but Blossom's eye twitched ever so slightly as she stared at the computer in front of her.
Doing something she didn't like was one thing, but doing it with a provocative voice in her head which unfortunately she couldn't get rid of or mute while maintaining her composure, it was fucking hard.
"K-" The AI began, but was just as quickly cut off.
"Not another word. Just finish up so we can move onto to other things" Blossom said mentally as she waited for her companion to finish her digital work.
There was Silence after that, but only for a moment
"Can i talk now?"
"KITTY" Blossom exclaimed mentally, while still keeping her external composure. It would be pretty awkward having such a reaction in her current state as that would attract unnecessary attention from those around her.
Creating a scene was the last thing she wanted, but her companion was making things hard for her.
"Geez, relax kitten. You sound like you are about to have a heart attack"
The AI just sighed.
Sometimes her host just needed to take a chill pill from being so uptight
"Well if you weren't being an annoying feline, perhaps i would relax more" replied Blossom icily.
Even after all these years, her companion could still get under her skin.
The AI wanted to reply with a witty remark, but decided otherwise. As playful as she was, she knew when to be serious. This was one of those times, even if just for a moment.
But of course she would make sure she got back at her host later. It wasn't in her design to take such lying down.
Changing the topic the AI spoke. "I believe you would like to know that i am done successfully integrating the data bugs into the servers and eliminated all previous traces of old ones"
There was a brief pause and then she continued. "Do you still want me to keep quiet, or should i continue with the report"
To any other person it would look like she was just performing routine system check, but Kitty was wirelessly establishing connection via the computer Blossom was using.
The glasses that she wore as a disguise was giving Blossom a digital and encrypted view of what the AI was doing, at least on a basic level, not that the woman couldn't understand the complexity of data integration and untraceable hacking.
She was a computer expert in her own right after all seeing as she managed most of the information dissemination Under her brother's command.
What Kitty had done seemed like a simple thing for any AI to do, but it wasn't so easy. Being able to access any computer server without any form of material, direct or indirect connection wasn't something just any AI could do. Not that there were many AI's to begin with.
Kitty didn't even have to be this close to a computer to access it, she just had to have her host within a specified distance.
A/N [I am not a tech guy, so this is just a speculation and assumption of sorts, so bear with me]
Kitty could access any server, data bank, storage and whatever so far it was a digital network on a slightest whim regardless of how advanced it was and with no prior or direct contact with it. She didn't even need her Hosts permission to do anything as she was independent enough to act on her own.
Just like Kurama she was a multitasking, sentient program designed with technology beyond what humanity was prepared for or could replicate. Even Tony Stark would have a hard time cracking down her programming design, though if anyone could it was him.
The man's creation of his own personal and functional Artificial Intelligence was impressive, however the AI was just short of sentience and the technology behind it was rudimentary compared to what both Kitty and Kurama were built from.
However in the not too distant future, the Billionaire's trophy program would receive quite an unexpected upgrade.
"I think someone's talking about me" thought the AI in question as he decrypted the files his creator had ordered him to do.
"Huh, Say something Jarvis?" Asked Tony offhandedly into his earpiece as he continued his work with Banner.
"Never mind sir" the AI responded offhandedly.
Hmm, what a strange feeling. The AI wondered further.
Could he even feel in the first place? ..Jarvis wondered...
The point was there would be none wiser that there was a hack going on, nor could it be traced to her in anyway.
"Everything you did was done Undetected i suppose?" confirmed Blossom. Such a question was unnecessary but she had to be sure as Kitty could be quite carefree and careless at times.
"I am gonna pretend like you didn't just ask me that"
In other words, that's a 'yes'.
"You could have just said a simple yes. I do have due reasons for asking considering some of your hiccups in the past" she reminded her companion.
"That's the past, so please could stop asking me questions like that. Its insulting you know" fired back the AI. Fine she had skipped some instructions and protocols in the past but that was because she thought they were unnecessary.
She was given independence for a reason so why not use it..
Ignoring the response, Blossom continued. "What about our agents. Are they all accounted for or as any been compromised?" Once again she knew chances of that being a possibility were slim seeing as all their operatives were well trained to blend in, but still they were humans and humans were prone to mistakes.
"If any agents were compromised, we would have found about that much earlier and the necessary protocols would have been followed. Sometimes i wonder if you remember that we have an advanced accountability and personnel detection system, you being the boss's girl and all"
Sometimes her host acted like she was dense.
But the AI knew better. It was just her host following in the footsteps of the boss and perhaps being a little too paranoid.
Asking questions were necessary, but damn could it painfully annoying if the same questions were asked time and time again,
Ignoring the part of being called "boss's girl" and obvious sarcasm, the disguised red head asked the all important question. One she had been waiting to get answer to.
"I assume that we are good to go then?" Asked Blossom, hopefully...
She was tired of playing this role of hers, it just wasn't for her at least not anymore.
"Well yes, we are all that remains is the signal from the boss. Tired already?"
Of course she was tired...
"Signal" the woman thought.
"Yeah the signal. Have you forgotten?"
'Oh... The signal'
Fuck!
She just remembered that she could only leave her post only when a certain set of events occurred, those events being the signal in question or a direct order from Kage himself... He needed her in her station just in case things went south and most likely would considering Loki being captured an all.
Having the god of mischief caged on the ship was like putting a huge target on SHIELD'S back even with the limited number of people who knew about his capture. He was the fucking god of mischief for a reason so him being captured was most probably a plan of sorts, at least that's what the data they had on him suggests with him most likely having a way of escape while causing chaos in the process.
Yes they had data on Loki and many more outworldly individuals, even civilizations. They knew about Thor, Asgard, The Destroyer, the Tesseract and many other things before the world itself knew or discovered a hint of these things. In fact the possibility of invasions were well prepared for by Kage considering the extensive time he spent outside earth.
Those were lonely and dark times for her, but it was nothing compared to how dark it was for him all those years he spent away.
It was a miracle he was alive and sane after all of that.
A story for another time however..
The fact was that he needed her here while he worked his magic on the so called "Avengers" team, preventing them from killing each other, something that Loki would definitely want considering his manipulative tendencies.
Well actually she could leave if she wanted, but she wasn't quite sure how Kage would react if she did such without his permission.
Even after all these years he was still unpredictable in a lot of ways and when it came to serious business he didn't mess around nor did he appreciate others messing around as well no matter how close one was to him.
"You know you love that about him" responded Kitty in a purr like fashion.
"Could you for a moment just not say anything provocative?" rebuked the woman..
"If i did that, then i wouldn't be me would i now. Why... does what i say make you uncomfortable? You know its true after all and besides you are the one that sees my words as provocative. My words are harmless unless of course they are true in their context.." Kitty Suggested.
Blossom just sighed internally.
Not only did she have to listen to this, but she still had to sit there for a while longer.
Great!..
How much she craved for some action..
"Give me a the analysis of all you have done so far" Blossom ordered to change the subject. Perhaps a distraction wouldn't be so bad..
"Is that necessary? You already get the gist of what i have done"
"Regardless just send to me?"
"There is no need for that, besides this isn't the time or the place"
"It wasn't a request"
"Oooh that's how you wanna play it? Okay, here it is then"
Before Blossom could say anything, she felt a very sharp pain in her head as a mental influx of information flooded her brain.
She couldn't help but exclaim a little to loudly.
AHHHHHH!
The others in the room turned to her direction in curiousity.
Quickly gaining her composure, she responded.
"Sorry, i just hit my head. Its alright". she said awkwardly..
Fortunately, the others didn't think too much of it and went back to their work.
"What the HELL KITTY" she raged mentally which caused her to wince a little as her head still hurt.
"I simply gave you what you asked"
"I didn't ask you to blow my head off. What happened to sending the data analysis to my HUD so i can see it?"
She wore these glasses for a reason as it served as a heads up display for the woman. She could have easily read the data on it once transferred to it, but of course Kitty just had to be an annoying feline..
"Ooh sorry, my bad. Hehe" replied the AI innocently hoping her host would waive it off.
Obviously She wasn't buying it.
"Okay fine, at least it didn't kill you and i saved you the time you have used reading the analysis by sending all at once to your brain. Its not like its the first time i did that and you can very much take anything i can dish out. That's the main reason why we are bonded together"
For Blossom to have such an advanced AI installed in her head, she had to have the mental and cognitive capacity to handle all the dangers that came with it. The amount of energy Kitty was running on could blow an entire city block, so yeah her design was complex and deadly to be permanently installed in a person's head.
Kitty wasn't just a program, she was a digital life form designed to be sentient and based off pieces of her existence in another universe as a living being.
Fortunately for her Host, she wasn't just a typical human. But that didn't mean she couldn't feel pain when a large complex data analysis was shoved into her head.
Deciding to waive off the obvious attempt by her companion to defy her, she calmly accessed her memories to review the information received, and after a few minutes of mental review, she was done.
One of the things Kage taught her was how to mentally isolate her memories, by creating a memory palace.. In that palace she could take a chunks of her memory and analyze them one at a time.
He was better than her at it, but she wasn't half bad at it. While she could access and isolate her most recent memories, Kage could do so with memories of months prior, even memories that were only subconscious.
He said it was technique he borrowed from an old clan he once knew, them being experts on the brain and knowing how to hack it. Mindwalkers was what he called them.
There were many things she had been taught and most of them involved some form of violence and physical skill, but knowing how to keep yourself mentally stable was of great importance.
"Even gods can fall when they lack mental stability. I knew and fought a few of them back in the day" she remembered Kage telling her during the earlier days.
Some days those were.
"KITTEN"
"What!" she replied having being brought out her brief flashback.
"You zoned out on me. Are you alright?" Asked the AI a little worried.
"Yeah i am fine. What's up?"
"I said to keep things interesting, all the 'Packages" onboard have dispersed from their meeting, and it seems some of them are doing some snooping around" the AI said casually.
Just like her host, the title "Avengers" didn't sit well with the AI especially with a team of misfits such as these people.
A man outta time, an arrogant billionaire, a reserved doctor who can destroy everything the moment he gets angry, a boisterous god from another realm, a spy with a haunted past and unclear future, and a human marksman with also a haunted past who just didn't know when to quit..
Out of all of them, the arrow guy seemed to be the most balanced, though not perfect of course. Kage liked the guy and admittedly so did Blossom when she met him, of course she didn't show it at the time..
She doubted he would even recognize her if he saw her again, but regardless her 1st impression of the man was a good one, however at that moment he was compromised..
If she did encounter him in such a state she would try not to kill him..
Even if they did succeed in working together and become a team, the human governments with their politics wouldn't let them be free and understandably so. From Kitty's memories from her old life, no matter who you were, you had to belong to a ninja village. If you didn't then you were branded a missing nin. Her previous host was nearly branded one when she tried to revolt due to how she was treated for being her host.
Just remembering what she could about her past life made the AI a little sad, especially when she remembered her late former host.
Her former Host deserved a much better fate than the one she had...
The AI pushed those thoughts aside.
"Who are those snooping around?" asked Blossom curiously.
"Well its our fellow billionaire tech guru Stark himself, and i have to say he's doing a pretty good job of extracting information while remaining undetected"
There was only one person on board that could be referred to as such and if he was hacking SHIELD's servers, well she couldn't be sure what his reasons were. The man was a mischievous prick after all which made him quite unpredictable to a degree.
"Is it something i should be worried about?" She just had to ask just in case. Perhaps she could ask Kitty to interrupt the man's hacking attempt.
"No, not really"
"Then i don't wanna know anything more" she replied with finality. All she wanted was to get outta here and do something else.
"Just like that?"
"You said i had nothing to worry about, so i am not interested. Besides we can always find out what he is up to later, its not that hard after all" she replied casually.
They had been tracking Tony Stark over the years, in practically... all of his activities. From his childhood down to his capture by terrorists, his early Ironman days up till now just as they had been keeping tabs on anyone with a hint of supernatural powers.
Yes, Tony Stark was superhuman but not in an orthordox manner. Howard stark was a genius, but his son is on another level and still hadn't tapped into the greater aspects of genius yet. Did that make him superhuman, not really, but kage felt the arrogant billionaire was above human especially in the Intelligence department. The man had a lot of resources but it was nothing compared to what she and Kage had.
If stark had the resources that they had or a certain hidden African country had, then he would become a god amongst men. He was already seen as a god by many, but the man had the potential to actually become one if he had more resources at his disposal hence how much effort was put into tracking him.
Stark was a wild one even more so than the Hulk and Thor as he was the one of the only few who could kill her adopted brother if he unlocked the fullness of his genius.
Truly then would Kage have a real challenge to face and that was saying something considering his resume of those he had fought since his spirit arrived in this universe.
Regardless Blossom wasn't worried about that happening as Stark was a long way from getting to such level. But they would continue to keep an eye on him just in case.
"Well if you say so. Though is there anything you would like to know then for the time being?" Requested Kitty.
"What makes you think i wanna know more about anything?"
"I am part of your mind remember. I know that anything aside from sitting where you are right now would be interesting enough. Besides wouldn't you like to know what the boss has been up to"
"Have you been spying on him?"
"More like tracking him is the word. Besides you have spied on him countless times. Don't be a hypocrite"
"What are you, my conscience?"
"More like your fun half, because you are absolutely no fun"
"I can be fun when i wanna be you know"
"Sure, and Tony Stark is a saint" answered the AI with obvious sarcasm
"Whatever"
"Act as indifferent as you want, but you and i both know you would like to find out what's going on with boss, so cut the act and just ask already"
Blossom thought about it for a moment. She didn't like spying on Kage, but he did give her a mission that by all means she didn't have to do. So perhaps a little check on him wouldn't be so bad.
Right?
Her brief hesitance made her remember the first time she spied on him and what happened after.
As a young girl, she was far from naive. Having been used as an underage sex worker until recently, she was well aware of the evils that went on and those who did them.
Unfortunately, depending on how one saw it, her "Uncle", now teacher was one of them.
She wasn't quite sure, but she had her suspicions especially after gaining her freedom by his hands. Besides he never did tell her about how he freed her, just that it didn't matter and she had him by her side.
"It doesn't matter, you are free and that's what counts. Freedom is quite costly these days so just enjoy while it lasts" he said to her after she asked him again on what he did to free her.
She didn't know him so well as he never did spend too much time with her or her late parents in the past. He was more like a complete stranger to her hence her suspicions. Though she did remember him being around a couple of times, but for some reason her parents never wanted her to get close to him even when declaring him as their friend. Besides something about the way he responded to her about being free didn't sound right. It sounded well, suspicious, like he was stating that freedom was never meant to last.
At the time she didn't really understand but she did have to agree with him based on her experience.
No one ever gained freedom from her line of work except with death or bribing your way out with high level influence and a huge wad of cash. There was also the option of killing all those in charge and disappearing, but that was suicide as they were quite a long list of people to kill with many of them big and influential names.
Her uncle didn't seem to have influence of such, so that only left one option.
He had killed her captors and made her disappear alongside himself. There was the possibility that he had bribed her out, but something about made her feel like he didn't have the patience for such even if he did have the necessary influence.
It was mostly just a hunch, but the longer she stayed with him, the more she observed him. The malicious vibe she had gotten from some of her "clients" she felt the same coming off him but in his case, it was stronger and controlled.
He felt like a killer, but he wasn't crazy or disturbed like many others she had encountered as clients.
So once and for all she decided to figure it out by following him. That was why she was where she was, in abandoned factory.
Fortunately for her, there was no one around, Or so it seemed.
Then there were the bodies. All dead, blood all around, scattered boxes, guns on the floor with obvious signs of shots being fired, considering the bullet rounds on the ground.
The smell and chill of death was in the air the farther she walked into the building, the feeling became stronger and the dead bodies increasing.
Gun shots were fired, and she had to flinch at the sound. Then she heard some shouts and screams and then, it all stopped.
Dead silence!
She tried pinpointing where the sounds came from and It seemed to be coming from one the rooms up ahead.
She was scared.
The cold silence following only added to it.
With a little courage, she walked further, and when she got to the door, she opened it ever so slightly, small creaking sounds being made the more she slid the door open.
She was breathing heavily and her heart was pounding.
Damn she was scared.
Then she saw it.
He was standing there, in the middle of the room, bodies all around with their blood littering the floor.
He was just standing there, hands behind his back, staring at her with his then blueish eyes, an expectant, but cold look on his face.
And his eyes, damn his eyes were just too cold.
She was scared shitless.
So many thoughts raced through her mind. Was he gonna kill her too, maybe take her prisoner or something.
The man standing there was not the Uncle she knew, not by a long shot.
And then, he broke the silence.
"You wanted to know who i am and what i do, now, you do" He spoke almost casually, like he wasn't in a room full of dead people. People who he obviously killed there was no hint of remorse on his face.
The surrounding aura made it feel like it was just him and her, all alone despite the pile of bodies. Well technically they were alone as every other person was dead.
"Now you have to make a choice, stick with me and never be weak again, or run away and live your life by your terms. But regardless of whichever you choose, you cannot run from the evil of this world... These men and the men that used you as a sex slave, they are all out there, many of them with the only thing on their mind being their survival and no matter how dirty their hands have to get, they don't mind so far they survive and enjoy what life has to offer... It is these men that serve as the evil in this world, and the weak will fall prey to them just as you did,... just as your parents did" he finished coldly.
The was by far the worst thing she had ever been told in her life. She had been told many things, but being told that you were weak and that your parents died and left you behind unprotected was because of their weakness by none other than the remaining sense of family you had left, well... that was cold.
Considering all he said, in her scared and somewhat defeated little mind, she figured out three things.
One, from his expectant look, he knew she had been following him.
Two, he wanted her to follow him so she could see..., well see all this.
Three, he was giving her a choice and making her see the results of whatever choice she made.
She could either get stronger with his help to face the challenges of life, or she could learn on her own and continue to remain weak.
The latter didn't sound so appealing considering how her life has been over the years, and while what he said was cold she was truly weak and her parents were admittedly dead because they were also weak.
The world war was an eye opener for a lot of people that change was coming and not necessarily the good kind. It was brutal, unforgiving and inconsiderate no matter who you are or what you have.
The world had no place for the weak, at least not this world.
Her parents loved her and she loved them, but just like many others before them they fell to the vices of war and death thereby leaving her alone to be preyed upon.
It was all because they were weak.
Before she could think further, it happened.
One of the supposed dead guys got up, and upon noticing her, he groggily picked up his gun and proceeded to shoot her.
The man seemed half dead and probably wanted to make a statement by killing the person whom he thought important to his assailant. At least that's what he thought.
He didn't get the chance however.
Her uncle was upon him in a flash and faster than she had ever seen anyone move, he ran towards the man and punched a hole through his chest.
In an instant he was just standing there and then, he blitzed towards the man.
That wasn't a regular human action as no one could move that fast.
The blood and gore was quite graphic as the man coughed up blood adding to the blood already pouring from his chest. And then, the man died with her uncle's hand still in his chest.
Then he looked back at her dead on and said, "Kill or be killed, make your choice little girl because life will definitely make it for you if you are slow about it" he finished with his eyes staring directly into hers and even with the gore as well as the sheer cold bloodedness of the situation there was some slight warmth in his eyes.
He was saying all of this not because he wanted to scare her but because he was concerned for her.
With that said, he pulled his hand out with more blood pouring out from the man's chest as he fell to the floor.
In that moment, she made her decision.
If her uncle didn't act quickly, she would have been shot by the now dead man.
If he didn't have the skill or ability to act quickly, she would have been shot.
He was strong, that was obvious, much stronger than all these dead men despite their guns and weapons.
If her parents were stronger perhaps they wouldn't be dead. If she was stronger she wouldn't have been used as a sex worker over the years.
Bad people were everywhere and just like everyone else, they want to survive and so do what they can to survive.
That's were the evil comes in.
If she wanted to survive, she needed to get stronger and this man in front of her, a man sometime ago she wouldn't have thought could be such a cold person could help her do so.
He wasn't evil, he was strong, very strong and that's what she wanted. She wanted to be strong..
He may not have been there when she might have needed him, when her parents might have needed him. But he was here now and he had saved her.
He might have been a total mystery to her then, but she needed him. She needed to get strong.
Her decision to spy on him that day and the choice she made later on would change her life.
Ever since then she didn't spy on him for the longest time, instead he would take her along with him whenever he had "missions" as he would call it, exposing her to most of what he did and telling her why he did it. He was pretty hard on her in her earlier years by his side, never sugarcoating things and letting her see the world for what it was even openly killing his enemies right in front her with brutal efficiency just as he did that day.
Those were quite graphic moments, but she never shied away from them nor was she afraid of him. He was cold and ruthless, but he had a conscience and lived by it something that was quite hard for him considering his conflict of personality.
He was a troubled soul but he still kept some sense of morality and sanity, the former of which he ensured she possessed more and as for her sanity, well that was something she had to figure a way to keep in check, but he still gave her the tools she required.
"A man's emotion is like a leaf, the winds of life blows it wherever regardless of the direction, but a sane mind, a moral compass and a strong will can keep them in check regardless of whatever wind blows and how heavy it is. I once had a code, and even with this new life of mine and new body i still maintain it. You need to have your code and stick to it as it will be your guide in the darkest of times. Remember this my dearest Blossom"...
These were some of his teachings and in her darkest of days it saw her through, especially those years when he was gone.
Yeah, he left her but he came back as a changed man with a lot of scars and a new purpose, a purpose which he shared with her once again despite the state he met her in on his return.
She was almost a total wreck then and there was quite the story behind it. A very long, bloody and sinister story, one which a red head former spy reminded her of every time she sees her.
Fortunately it was a story/history only few know about and was able to bury, though not yet completely. It was a history Blossom preferred to keep buried for the time being and had plans of her own to bury all traces of it fully this time. It was only because of Kage that she was staying her hand, but if her "history" began to surface again, then he won't be able to stop her from taking action.
Regardless, in her worst of days Kage upon his return didn't give up on her as it just wasn't in his nature to do so, and honestly she was glad he didn't'.
She wasn't the best person now even with her renewed transformation or even close to being perfect, but now with him around her again and their new found purpose as well as plethora of resources things were much better now. She was more in control of herself, had a better purpose and had the person she loved the most by her side.
All was good in her book.
The world however, well it was going to shit. It had been coming for a long time and now with the discovery of life outside of earth officially thanks to the brute of an Asgardian and his brother, the world was now fully on its way to its doom.
The so called Avengers team was far from becoming a functional unit and the people of earth, both civilians and the government were completely unprepared for the drastic changes coming.
Earth's only hope was both she and Kage had built over the years, human and technological resources. However, all they had was still behind the scenes and would continue to remain that way until it was deemed necessary to step into the light.
However that time might be sooner than later, but for now Blossom preferred to keep things on the low, with only she, Kage and a few of their followers around the world embracing the light while still in the shadows..
It was ironic but dare she say that Kage had more of a ninja mentality in this life than his previous one..
The identity of some of their followers would be quite the surprise to many with 2 other major players being on the very Helicarrier itself, both for totally different reasons..
So far, there was no need for them to do much of anything as of yet.
How badly she wished for some form of chaos to ensue so she could leave her post. She did wonder what Kage was up to as well as the "Avenger" recruits.
Her mind flashed briefly to a certain red head spy.
She needed to keep a keen eye on that one and perhap-
"Helloooooo!" drawled out Kitty to get her host's attention.
"I can hear you loud and clear you know" replied Blossom irritated at the abrupt distraction..
"Then why didn't you say anything since?"
"I was in my memory palace"
"Right!"
"What is that supposed to mean. Do you doubt me"
"Of course not.. I wouldn't dare" replied Kitty in an exaggerated manner
"Whatever"
"Hmmmmm"
Blossom sighed...
Anything was better than sitting there in a room full of strangers and listening to more provocation and sarcasm of her annoying AI.
Fuck it!
"Fine Show me what he is up to" she ordered mentally... Perhaps spying on Kage would alleviate her boredom.
"Its about time" replied the AI a little too excitedly. She knew her host would cave in at some point and couldn't wait to see her reaction when she discovered what The Boss was doing.
More like who he was with at that moment.
Accessing the security footage of the entire aircraft, Kitty located the target and sent the footage to her host's HUD via her glassed for her to personally see what she requested.
Of course Blossom would have to multi task watching the footage and continuing whatever work she was supposed to be doing to remain blended in her current post, but so far no one seemed to notice her so all was good.
That aside, kitty was more interested in how her cute host was gonna react at what she was currently seeing.
Blossom's emotions ranged from curious, to confusion, anger and then downright fury at what she was seeing in HUD that the chair she sat on began to buckle under increased pressure of her body weight and with her fists being clenched it was a miracle she didn't smash the computer in front of her.
At that point she didn't care if anyone noticed her, but she still kept her cool..
Her beloved brother instead of focusing on the mission was with the same Red head woman she wanted far away from him as pinned her to a wall a little too closely for her liking and saying things to the woman that she couldn't quite hear and honestly, she didn't wanna know what he was saying, nor did she care that the woman in question had previously pulled a gun on him.
If he wanted to disarm her he didn't need to be this close to her damnit..
Here she was busting her ass and doing something she didn't want to and Kage was busy flirting with another woman, one that he clearly knew her reservations about..
Was he doing this to annoy her intentionally, heck he could even be aware she was watching him right now.
The bastard..
Two words came to her barely composed mind at that moment, one that she spoke out quietly..
"That Motherfucker!"
Yeah, she was pissed.
A/n: My OC character has been introduced and while there are many questions about her, more will be revealed as the story goes on. Key point is that she is our main character's 2nd in command and closest ally.
Yes he trained her and more about her history will be touched on later, but trust me guys there is very good reason I created her as she relates to his past in the Narutoverse. Her existence in this story isn't just for fun..
Her abilities will be revealed later but they are quite interesting ones..
She will be the only OC in this story and no, she won't be a pairing for Naruto.
Matatabi is an AI like Kurama, and is a partner to my OC for the rest of the story. Consider both her and Kurama Digital clones of their former selves, using Naruto's memories of them in his past life as a means to recreate them.
I am not a tech guy, but i do know that technology has a lot of possibilities especially in the Super Hero universe.
To any of my haters, if you don't like this story then don't read it, its not by force and if you have the guts as well as the brains, then go write your own. I will be one of the first the make a review when you write your story that's if of course it's worth reading...
For the rest of y'all, thanks for your patience and i would appreciate more of your positive and constructive reviews. Next chapter will be out immediately after this one as it was originally part of this chapter but because it was too long i divided it into 2 chapters giving you guys some more content as i won't be updating this story for a while after the next chapter.
Peace out and God bless.
