Anyone who knows my stories knows I update fairly often, I try not to abandon stories and I try to keep readers invested and not waiting too long.

Chapter 2

Millie entered the room where Rivet was crying, and still shaking. "Riv, it's Millie." Millie said sitting on the edge of the bed. She was met with no response. "I see you're having a pretty bad panic attack. I'm gonna sit with you, until it's passed." Millie said and she gently placed her hand on Rivet who had not stopped shaking "Just listen to the sound of my voice. And follow that. You are okay…" Millie said and Rivet's shaking had started to slow.

Back in the living room "Homie, who arranged it, you or this Talwyn. It was probably her. She's a markazian! Damn markazians, they always have something to do with bad business." Wrench said "There was no arrangement, she just showed up!" Ratchet defended "I haven't seen her in months, or spoken to her! Clank knows this!" Ratchet continued "I haven't seen or spoken to Talwyn in 8 months! Then she just shows up! I don't know why!" Ratchet lied, knowing what had happened between he and Talwyn. He couldn't afford to make the situation worse.

"Well homie. This Talwyn, and silver homie's poor choice of words, caused Rivet to have a panic attack. You better fix this young boy. I gotta go make sure the food's okay." Wrench said and he began jogging back to the backyard. "She heard the word exgirlfriend and broke down. It is my fault Ratchet. I forgot about Rivet's fragility." Clank expressed and Ratchet shrugged it off. "Don't worry about it pal, I'll talk to her." Ratchet said and he began to make way to Rivet's room. Opening the door he saw Rivet sitting up with Millie "She just calmed down. Try to be slow with her." Millie said getting up and exiting the room.

"Why did she come here?" Rivet shakily asked "She's your exgirlfriend…" She continued. Before Ratchet could speak Rivet cut him off "And don't lie to me. I know she wasn't here about some ship crap." Rivet said and Ratchet joined her on the bed. "I don't know why she came." Ratchet lied anyway. "I haven't seen…or heard from her in 8 months." Ratchet admitted. "Then she just showed up." he continued and Ratchet could see the sadness in Rivet's eyes. "Riv. I sent her home…I'm with you." He said taking her hand in his, earning a soft smile from the female.

Evening had rolled around and the guests had departed. The morts had gone back to Sargasso. Wrench and Millie had left for their dimension. Ratchet was helping Clank and Kit clean up while Rivet sat outside, keeping to herself. "Are you sure she will be okay?" Clank questioned and Ratchet nodded as he threw out some garbage. "We're fine. We talked. I cleared the air. She said she just needs to breathe. We just move as slow as she needs cause she's real fragile." Ratchet said "And what if Talwyn…when Talwyn comes back?" Clank asked

"I'm going over to her right now." Ratchet answered "Is that the best idea?" Clank questioned at Ratchet turned to face him "I just need your support." he dismissively spoke before going to the back. "Where are you going?" Rivet asked upon seeing Ratchet exit the backdoor "I'm…going to see Talwyn." Ratchet started and Rivet's eyes widened. "WHY!?" She questioned "To tell her i'm with you. And she can't just show up unannounced." Ratchet said and Rivet softly smiled, though she wasn't comfortable. "Let her know…." She said and Ratchet nodded before exiting to go to his cruiser.

A MONTH BEFORE - DURING "A WRENCH IN THE WORKS"

Rivet sat on the bed in the bedroom of the Hell's Rangers ship she and Ratchet were given while traveling to the planet Sartana and looked at Ratchet, who was getting comfortable in a chair. "Rivet…" He started and Rivet rolled her eyes before laying down "You're probably so happy there isn't anything for me to drink here." She said "Rivet." Ratchet repeated "What?" Rivet asked in an annoyed tone. "I'm…just trying to right by you." Ratchet said "You're doing such a great job." Rivet started and she sat back up. "Had sex with me on two planets. Check. Lied to me, and almost got away with it. Check. Got me to give you a second chance. Man am I dumb, but check. I can't wait to see what you do next with your "doing right" by me." Rivet said "Rivet, I am trying to make things right!" Ratchet said "Then what the hell is this back and forth we're doing?! One minute we're hugging and kissing, then you're looking at me having a drink like I need an intervention and to be shipped off to rehab!" Rivet argued.

"I have commitment issues, okay!?" Ratchet finally admitted, and raising his voice caused Rivet to back off and let him speak. "You're not the only one, who's scared Rivet. I'M SCARED!" He said and Rivet looked at him. "Being in love with me…It's a lot of work, because while I love you, I still don't know how I really feel. I don't want to mess up but I do. And I push away when I mess up. I was shocked when you gave me another chance. But I messed up, and here I am again, pushing you away when I should, be winning your trust back." Ratchet spoke and Rivet got up and sat in the chair beside Ratchet "It is exhausting loving you. Cause all you've done is hurt me." She said "I'm sorry." Ratchet said "I should….hate you for everything you've done…." She said and Ratchet looked at her "But what?" Ratchet asked and Rivet stared at Ratchet for a moment before gently kissing him. The kiss was gentle, yet filled with emotion and love. "But I can't hate you." She said breaking the kiss and exiting the room.

PRESENT DAY

Rivet sat and looked up at the night sky. "Commitment issues…." She whispered to herself. She sat in silence for a moment before getting up and entering the house "Bolts, take me to Talwyn's place." Rivet spoke assertively "But Ratchet is there now…" Clank said "CLANK, Just do it." Rivet said and Clank nodded "Does this mean i'm finishing cleaning alone?" Kit asked "Sorry Kit." Rivet said as she shoved Clank out the door, urging him to make haste.

Meanwhile, Ratchet arrived at Talwyn's home and rang the bell "I didn't call you?" Talwyn said answering the door. "We, uh need to talk." Ratchet said and Talwyn let him in. "What happened today…"Ratchet started and he took a moment to sigh "It…can't happen again." Ratchet said "Is this…her talking…or you talking." Talwyn sat next to Ratchet on the couch, and slowly inched closer to him "This afternoon, you seemed like you missed me." Talwyn spoke almost in a seductive tone. "I'm with her, Tal…" Ratchet wasn't just saying this. He was trying to affirm himself. But he looked at Talwyn, her long hair, her beautiful eyes, and apricot skin. He felt all types of conflicting emotions.

Back at the house Clank looked at Rivet as they got in the cruiser. "He has commitment issues, Bolts." Rivet broke the silence "And I've been cheated on….A LOT." Rivet continued. "Look how much you and Ratchet have overcome together." Clank responded and Rivet held her head down. "Despite his deception, you trusted him enough to give him a second chance. Trust him enough here." Clank tried to have good faith that Ratchet was doing what he said he would. Rivet bit her lip and thought for a moment. "Okay…." she said finally as the pair exited the cruiser. Rivet got a message on her holophone, she looked and saw it was from someone she wasn't expecting to hear from. She ignored the message and pocketed the device.

Back at Talwyn's home, Ratchet looked at the Markazian and stood up. Talwyn shortly thereafter followed. "We can't do this Tal, no." Ratchet said and when he tried to step around Talwyn, she followed and blocked his way. "Who are you trying to convince here?" Talwyn questioned "You felt it when we were together today, that spark was still there. Do you feel that spark when you're with her?" Talwyn continued to press. "Tal, we haven't seen eachother in almost a year. I…moved on." Ratchet said and he was met with a kiss from Talwyn, which he quickly gave into. "Have you?" Talwyn asked when she broke the kiss. "I still love you…." She continued and Ratchet backed away. "I…I need to go, I shouldn't have come here." Ratchet said and he saw himself out.

Talwyn looked in the mirror, and was disgusted with herself. She never viewed herself as the seductive type, and her behavior tonight was appalling. "If this is what I have to do to win him back…." She whispered to herself. Back outside, Ratchet hadn't left yet. He was sitting in the cruiser, at war with his thoughts. He did still feel for Talwyn, but he didn't know to what extent, considering that Rivet was the one in control of his heart. "What have I done…." Ratchet asked himself.
