Chapter 5

Song: Waiting On You (The Temptations)

Rivet walked up to the holomusic player and turned it on low "All i ever wanted…was you… you, you, you…." The song played softly as Rivet walked up behind Ratchet and wrapped her ams around his waist. Resting her head on his shoulder. She then turned and planted a kiss on Ratchet's cheek. "Can I help?" She asked and Ratchet turned around and kissed Rivet. "Of course." he said and he signaled her over to the left side of the counter. "Could you cut up those peppers?" Ratchet asked "Mhm!" Rivet said and she walked over and began cutting the peppers.

"Every step you take, rainbows and stars…..and you're the type of girl, when I was wrong you make it right…"

Ratchet looked over at his girlfriend, who was gently swaying her hips to the beat of the song. Ratchet finished stirring some of the food in the pan and made his way over to Rivet. Placing his hands on the female's hips sent a shiver through Rivet's body. The female felt Ratchet hold her close as they slowly swayed together to the song

"Cause i'm waitin' on you, yes i'm waiting on you…give me your love, give me your love"

Rivet finished cutting the peppers and then she broke the sway to place them in the pan with the rest of the food, before stirring the peppers into the mix. She then made way back over to Ratchet and the two lombaxes slow danced for a moment

"I've got all the time in the world…cause i'm waitin' on you, waiting on you. Just to feel that love."

The two had their dinner romantically lit by candles as they sat together and enjoyed eachother's company, a night filled with smiles for the two lombaxes. The night continued with the two cuddling on the couch watching a holofilm together, only being briefly interrupted by Clank returning home from a long day at work. The little robot was pleased to see the two lombaxes cuddling and in love. He quietly made way past the two and allowed them to enjoy their moment together the the open floored home. The lombaxes weren't even paying attention to the holofilm anymore. They were focused on cuddling, Ratchet holding Rivet close, and making her smile and laugh. The two lombaxes decided to end their night intimately as Ratchet led Rivet to his bedroom. The two lomabaxes already all over eachother upon entering the bedroom, planting eachother in kisses. Ratchet picked up Rivet and carried her to the bed, for the lombaxes to have a night of making love.

"All I ever wanted…was you…you you you. All I really need, is you, you you you you….."

Rivet was awoken by seemingly nothing, but something had pulled her from her sleep. She couldn't move from the bed however, she couldn't even turn her head. She felt paralyzed. She felt like someone was breathing on her; Ratchet? "You still think about me don't you?" A voice filled the room. It wasn't Ratchet's voice. "Maybe you're still not over me…." The voice sounded much closer to Rivet now, and she was able to notice a shadowy figure on top of her. A strong but sweet scent of cologne came from the figure as it got closer to Rivet, who still couldn't move. The figure then licked the side of Rivet's neck and lower cheek.

Rivet jumped from her sleep. She reached for the side of her neck, and then felt her cheek. She was dreaming. Nothing had touched her. She looked to her side and saw Ratchet sleeping peacefully next to her, one of his hands resting gently on her hip. Rivet reached for her holophone, and took a moment to look at it. She hesitated before opening up her messages and she saw she had 2 missed calls and 3 messages from Slayton. She placed the phone down and got dressed. She then left the bedroom and made way to the room where the dimensionator was. She punched in the coordinates and made way to her dimension.

ZURKIE'S BAR - RIVET'S DIMENSION

Song: Turn My Swag On (Soulja Boy)

Rivet made her way into the bar, and sat away from everyone else, due to being a known regular at this bar. She looked at the person on stage. It was a markazian rapper with a hi-top fade, a single shiny earring in his left ear, a chin strap beard, two gold chains around his neck, t shirt and pants that were all black and white sneakers. "Namaste Rivet…The usual?" Zurkie came up to Rivet who simply nodded. Zurkie nodded and left while Rivet eyed the rapper

"When I was 9 years old, I put it in my head that imma die for this gold! SLAYTON BOY TELLEM!" The rapper was Slayton, and he clearly had a following as those at the bar were cheering him on as he rapped. Zurkie had returned with two drinks for rivet in tall shot glasses. "Hopped up off tha bed, Turn my swag on….Took a look in tha mirror say wassup! Yeah i'm getting money…yeah!" Slayton continued to rap and as he finished he noticed Rivet. The two locking eyes as Rivet finished her shots, paid for the drinks and quickly left before Slayton could walk up to her after performing.

Rivet was almost out the door when she was greeted by a pirate with french accent; Pierre le Fer. "RIVET! How could you have dated zat blowhard Slayton? My wee cherie! Your judgement is poor in zuch a man." Pierre criticized "Good to see you too Pierre. I was just leaving." Rivet said in a tone that clearly spoke she was not in a joking mood. "Youz keep coming here when he performs then you make an irish goodbye. But not zis time my wee cherie!" Pierre spoke and Rivet raised an eyebrow "Right you saw me. Hi. Don't tell Slayton I was here." Rivet said despite knowing that he saw her when they locked eyes. She activated the dimensionator and returned to her home with Ratchet, and quietly darted back into bed.

SOME TIME BEFORE

"Its a nice place Tal…could be a nice spot to slow down." Ratchet said as the lombax and markazian sat at an overlook that was over a surburban area on a very green planet. "I was thinking, maybe we could move out here, travel less?" Talwyn suggested "You? Travel less?" Ratchet said and Talwyn looked at him with a grin before laughing with him. "I don't think I could ever stop traveling. But it'd be nice to own a spot here with you." Talwyn said and Ratchet took her hand "Yeah. It would be nice wouldn't it." He said and the two turned to face each other. "As long as i'm with you. It doens't matter where." Ratchet said and Talwyn blushed before being pulled into a kiss by the lombax. "And no matter how far away…I'll always come back to you." Ratchet said with a smile after breaking the kiss.

PRESENT DAY

Ratchet was torn from his sleep by Rivet's holophone going off. He covered his face with a pillow "Rivet get your phone…" He groaned and Rivet in response slapped the phone off of the nightstand, but the impact of the phone on the floor caused the phone to answer the call. "Hello?" A voice called from the phone and Rivet's eyes shot open, bloodshot and panicked "Hello? Rivet?" It was Slayton

"Oh Shock…" Rivet said under her breath as she quickly got to her feet and hung up. Ratchet was sitting up slowly and he looked at Rivet. "Who was that?" He asked "Not important…I'll handle it later." Rivet said muting her phone and getting back into bed. "I need at least, 4 more hours…" Rivet groaned as she got comfy in bed. "Alright, we can stay in a bit longer…" Ratchet said getting comfortable in the bed once more. "But please put it on mute." Ratchet said and Rivet quickly grabbed the device only to see a new message from Slayton. She ignored it, and muted her phone before going to cuddle in Ratchet's arms to drift off to sleep once more.

Talwyn looked at herself in the mirror, and was soon joined by Tiffany. "Only you would choke that away." Tiffany said and Talwyn looked at her "I did everything you said, the dirty dancing, the sweet talk, I even let you do this makeup on me, this ISN'T ME TIFF!" Talwyn argued. "When I….did what I did…." Tiffany started "The guy was still interested in me…but he was more intrigued by the new me…there was something new to me that he wanted to know…he was enticed by the new me, and that's what destroyed the relationship he was in. He saw there was more to what he lost." Tiffany said and Vane walked up behind her, having adjusted his size to fit the house.

He placed down Tiff's smoke in the markazian's hand before departing the room. Tiff took a moment to smoke before opting to continue speaking "Talwyn…That girl is a lombax. Ratchet's never been with another lombax. Only reason we know is cause there are no other lombaxes around. So she brings a lot to the table." Tiffany said and Talwyn looked at herself in the mirror once more. "You're old news to him lover girl….you're bad now…but you gotta be worse." Tiffany said "I can't do that. That's not me!" Talwyn argued. "You came to me over this. Remember?" Tiffany seethed and Talwyn nodded "You love him?" Tiff asked "YES!" Talwyn screamed and Tiffany grabbed her

"Then you need to be willing to do anything to take back what's yours." Tiff said and she blew a puff of smoke in Talwyn's face. "That lombax is in bed with your man right now. He's saying her name and not yours and the last thing he's thinking about is you!" Tiff prodded and she saw she a look she hadn't seen in Talwyn before: Rage. Talwyn slammed her fist into the mirror. She turned to face Tiff "Tell me what to do." She said in a tone that was filled with hurt, but determination to get what she wanted.

SLAYTON'S ARRIVED! Why does Rivet go to see him perform though?

Tiff's really getting through to Talwyn, what are the two Markazians about to pull?
