Chapter 20 Getting the Gawain

It's time to get the Gawain
(Ashford Academy)
"Ahh. Lulu. Keep going" Shirley screamed as a naked Lelouch fucked her from behind with her hands against the swim club lockers. Because of the craziness with Monica, Lelouch felt like he owed it to his older lovers to give them some quality time and Shirley wanted Lelouch to fuck her in the swim club locker which he was glad to do.
"God, I miss these breasts" Lelouch smirked as he reached inside the swimsuit to grope her bare breasts. Shirley had an amazing pair of breasts.
"Well, they're yours Lulu. They've always been yours." Shirley moaned happily enjoying the feel of his hands against her breasts. Shirley hadn't had much time with Lelouch, and she was cherishing it while she could.
"I'm glad" Lelouch said happily as he pulled out for just a second so he could spin Shirley around so she was facing him. A smiling Lelouch reached for her swimsuit in order to slide it off. Unfortunately for the rutting pair, Lelouch's phone rang effectively ruining the moment.
"Do you have to get that" Shirley frowned.
"Unfortunately, I do. That tone is for business only." Lelouch frowned as he walked over to where his clothes were and grabbed his phone. He was not happy and if this was stupid, he would be very annoyed.
"Sorry to call you at school, but we just received some very interesting information, and it couldn't wait until later" Inoue revealed.
"How interesting" Lelouch said with a skeptical tone. What they considered interesting and what he considered interesting were two very different things.
"Prime Minister Sawasaki has returned and he's aiming to free Japan alongside the Chinese Federation."
"Is that so" Lelouch replied with intrigue. This was definitely something he'd consider interesting especially since the Chinese Federation was involved.
"Yes. We need you at the base to decide what to do." Inoue replied.
"I see. Contact Kallen and let her know. I'll meet you at the base as soon as possible" Lelouch said firmly.
"Right" Inoue replied before hanging up.
As Lelouch looked to Shirley he could see the frown on her face, "You have to go be Zero huh?" Shirley pouted. The fact she was leaving her high and dry to do so only added to the annoyance she felt.
"I do but why don't you come over for dinner tonight. That way we can make up for lost time" Lelouch smiled as he got dressed and prepared to meet his team.
"I'd like that" Shirley replied. It was better than nothing and in truth it was the least he could do.
(Scene Skip)
Now dressed as Zero, Lelouch sat in a conference room with Tohdoh Ohgi and Rakshata ready to discuss the latest events and decide what to do, "So Sawasaki has returned and he's planning to free Japan with the Chinese Federation's help. This should be interesting" Lelouch replied as Zero. He didn't really need to dress as Zero, but it felt more professional if he did this.
"If he's working with the Chinese Fede-" Tohdoh was interrupted as Lelouch's phone rang.
"Ignore that. This takes priority since the Council should know I'm busy" Lelouch said calmly as the pone went to voicemail.
Tohdoh merely nodded before resuming his speech, "As I was saying IF-" Unfortunately the phone rang again to Lelouch's annoyance.
"Forgive me everyone. I need to take this" Lelouch replied as he took off his helmet and answered the phone. Ironically enough it was Monica calling.
"I'm assuming that you not answering my call earlier means that you're acting as Zero" Monica scowled.
"Yes, which means now is a bad time to talk Monica." Lelouch replied with a hint of annoyance as the rest of the group reacted in shock.
"Wait a minute…. Zero knows the Knight of Twelve" Rakshata smiled.
'I wonder' Tohdoh thought to himself. He recalled that Lelouch had somebody that he claimed he could turn but he was hesitant to do so. A Knight of the Rounds would fit that role perfectly.
"Actually, it's a perfect time since I have an offer for your Black Knights, and I need you to put me on speaker in order to reveal it. By the way, I borrowed Euphie's scrambler to make sure nobody traced this call." Monica smiled.
'I'm going to regret this.' Lelouch thought to himself before putting the phone on speaker. "You're on speaker Monica" Lelouch scowled.
"So, can everyone here me now." Monica said out loud.
"We can Monica so what do you want." Lelouch questioned.
"Remember that Knightmare that they brought along to help me scan the ruins on Kamine Island."
Lelouch frowned at the mention of the ruins but stayed focused, "Yes I remember it."
"Well, it turns out they want me to polite it in the upcoming operation against Sawasaki which is being planned out as we speak."
"We know about Sawasaki. Get to the point Monica" Lelouch scowled.
"Temper temper" Monica teased.
"Please just get to the point Monica." Lelouch deadpanned.
"My proposition is very simple. After we take down Sawasaki, which we will, you can ambush me and take the Gawain for yourself." Monica replied.
"You're a Knight of the Round. How in the world can we trust that you aren't trying to trap us?" Tohdoh questioned. It was a logical move to ask under the circumstances.
"I haven't told Princess Cornelia that you have at least two spies amongst our ranks including the Sub-Viceroy and a fellow Princess of the realm or about Lelouch's identity. Those two factors alone should prove my worthiness. Plus, I offered to steal the Gawain for Lelouch back when he first learned about it on Kamine Island and I'm the one offering to hand it to you again."
"I see" Tohdoh replied. It was hard to argue against any of those points really. Lelouch seemed to have no idea what she was up to and given his annoyance at her call, this wasn't planned.
"What do you have in mind for this ambush of yours, little girl. You wouldn't be calling us if you didn't at least have some idea of what to do" Rakshata asked in a tone dripping with curiosity and cockiness.
"Have any you ever heard of a Gejfun Disturber" Monica spoke up ignoring the calculated attack by Rakshata.
The mad scientist eyes widened instantly, "So that's your plan. Very clever" Rakshata spoke up.
"Given the way you reacted to what I've said I'm assuming you're Lelouch's scientist and you also know exactly what I want to do." Monica replied.
"That's correct. I know what you want to do but I'm afraid we can't do it without a lot more information. Your plan requires finesse to do right in order to not implicate you." Rakshata explained.
"I see. I'll get back to Lelouch soon with more specific information." Monica said calmly before hanging up.
"That friend of yours is quite interesting." Rakshata smiled.
"Yes, she is" Lelouch groaned figuring out what Monica and by extension what Rakshata was thinking.
"Hold on. What's this Gejfun disturber thing" Ohgi questioned.
"The short version is that the Gejfun disturber is a way to disable the liquid Sakuradite in any knightmare and make it unusable" Rakshata lectured.
"That's impossible" Ohgi gasped. Such a technology would've saved Japan if they knew about it before the war.
"Oh, it's very possible. The science is a bit advanced so I'm not sure if you'll understand" Lelouch teased.
"Then simplify it." Ohgi said angrily.
Rakshata and Lelouch shared a look before the leader deferred to his scientist since she could explain it easier, "Liquid Sakuradite is part of a special class of liquids called ferrofluids that are highly magnetic in nature when exposed to other magnets. The Gejfun disturber sends a powerful EMP wave that disables this connection and makes the knightmare inoperable." Rakshata explained.
(AN: I'm not 100% sure this is how the disturber works but I did a little research to try and guess. If anybody can point out anything, I'm missing please let me know)
"I see" Ohgi replied although he was still confused.
"You mentioned that what you want to do requires finesse. What do you mean?" Tohdoh spoke up.
"What Lelouch's little girlfriend is suggesting is using a Gejfun disturber to disable her Knightmare frame and make it unusable for a little bit. Since her communications system would be destroyed, she'd have to leave and find a way to contact the team working with her to do it. Theoretically we'd be able to ambush her as she tried to do so and take the Gawain for ourselves during the process."
"Theoretically." Tohdoh said with a raised eyebrow.
"Only a novice would leave a knightmare frame, particularly one as powerful as the Gawain if something unexpected happened. Suspicion would instantly fall on her and that would be bad for all parties involved." Lelouch finished.
"So, what will we do?" Ohgi said nervously.
"We wait. I fully believe that stealing the Gawain is in our best interest, but we need to be smart about how we do it." Lelouch ordered.
"What if we try something a bit… different." Rakshata smiled.
"What did you have in mind." Lelouch wondered.
"Well, the hardest part about this little mission is stealing the Gawain without implicating your girl. What if you simply snuck into her base and stole it that way."
"That would be impossible. They'd be heavily guarded in order to do that." Lelouch countered.
"As I recall you, killed Clovis by sneaking onto his base." Rakshata smiled.
Lelouch gave her a dirty look for a few reasons, "Ignoring how you know about that. There are important differences between the two. Chief among them is the fact I brainwashed Bartley and his entire staff during that operation with my Geass. I can't use it on somebody more than once."
Rakshata frowned briefly before smiling, "You said Bartley was involved when you killed Clovis."
"Yes" Lelouch said with a raised eyebrow.
"Then let's use that against him." Rakshata smiled.
"What do you have in mind?" Lelouch said with a devious grin. Rakshata was very intelligent and if she had a plan, he was definitely willing to listen.
(Scene Skip)
"So that's the plan." Lelouch smiled as he gathered the council to discuss his next move. The plan that Rakshata came up with would easily do the job. The key to the whole operation was Rivalz or rather Rivalz Geass.
"That plan seems very feasible but considering that Monica is shipping out pretty soon you need to take care of the most important detail." Milly reminded him.
"Actually, me and the drones can take care of the first detail. The rest is all about picking the right time." Nina smiled.
"Excellent." Lelouch said happily.
"I still can't believe you guys are so eager to betray your country like that." Kallen said calmly.
"Says the Britannian noble." Milly smirked.
"Hey!" Kallen twitched. Milly should've known better than to bring that up.
"That's enough girls. The plan is set which means now we just need to take care of the small details. Monica and Euphy should get going since I'm sure Cornelia wants to go after Sawasaki as soon as possible." Lelouch lectured.
"Right" Euphy and Monica smiled before walking over and kissing Lelouch goodbye. When the door closed, Lelouch focused on the other girls and the expressions on their faces.
"Somebody want to tell me what's wrong since you girls don't look very happy?" Lelouch said calmly.
Milly Shirley and Kallen quickly looked at each other before Kallen ultimately spoke up, "You've been spending a lot of time with Monica lately and we're worried Lelouch."
"That I won't have time for you." Lelouch deadpanned.
"No, you idiot. They're worried that you're losing your motivation for revenge against Britannia. You ruthlessly murdered Clovis and roared onto the scene before pulling what you did at the Hotel to reveal your Black Knights. Ever since Cornelia and Euphemia showed up you've backed away from the battlefield." C.C spoke
"And your hesitation only gotten worse since Monica arrived. You've lost your drive Lelouch and it's obvious to anybody who knew the old you." Milly continued.
"I hate to say it buddy but it's true. You're being too cautious nowadays." Rivalz spoke up confirming the thought.
"I'm focused on keeping the assets available to me." Lelouch countered.
"We understand that but sooner or later you'll have to face Monica in battle. This cold war you have between you and Cornelia is working out, but how long can it stay that way." Kallen said firmly.
"I don't know." Lelouch frowned.
"Exactly and that's the problem. Your obligation to the Black Knights is to help them free Japan but can you really do that without harming Cornelia and/or Monica." Kallen wondered.
Lelouch scowled because they were right. If he continued to wait, he'd be forced to act sooner or later, "I'll do what needs to be done." Lelouch replied.
"Good" Kallen smiled.
"Now let's talk about Rivalz role. After all he's the only one who can get us the final piece." Milly said with a devious grin. Things were about to get very fun.
(Scene Skip)
"Nina is everything in place." Lelouch wondered as he sat in a room used to go over battle data for the knights. Everyone important was there and watching as the Britannian operation to go after Sawasaki began.
"Yes. Getting visual data on the Gawain is valuable since it's going to be ours pretty soon." Nina explained.
"I don't get why we're not participating also. This is the type of thing the Black Knights should be involved in" Tamaki groaned.
"Normally I would agree, but we don't want to expose our resources and having them see what Kuroi Ryu can do would not be wise." Lelouch replied.
"I still don't like it." Tamaki scowled.
"You don't have to like it Tamaki, you just have to trust Zero." Kallen lectured.
"Pretty sure you didn't trust him either until you started sleeping with him." Tamaki deadpanned.
"Why you!" Kallen growled taking great offense to that comment.
"Remind me again why we invited the guy whose failed at practically every task he's given. I'm pretty sure if you weren't part of the original group, you'd have been kicked out by now." C.C scolded.
"Why you!" Tamaki growled this time.
"That's enough! Right now, we're about to get a good look at our enemy. Deal with your personal issues later." Tohdoh scowled.
"Thank you Tohdoh." Lelouch smiled having grown annoyed of the conversation already.
"Anyway, the film is live." Nina smiled and the screen flew to life. Monica was flying with the Gawain with Suzaku and the Lancelot below them.
"This should be interesting." Rakshata smiled.
"Why are they only using two nightmares." Kallen wondered.
"It's a test. The Gawain is a new weapon and although Lelouch's little girlfriend is a Round they need a place where the number of dangerous opponents is at a minimum. Ideally she takes out the air forces while Kururugi deals with the Knightmare on the ground." Rakshata surmised.
"Makes sense." Lelouch smiled as they watched the battle unfold. Sure enough, Monica and Suzaku were able to handle their part. It was actually pretty impressive all things considered.
"Man, I'm glad we're taking that Gawain. It's really powerful." Tamaki said happily.
"Even though it's incomplete." Rakshata smiled.
"How so." Lelouch wondered.
"The Hadron cannon works. but they haven't been able to get the beams to converge perfectly." Rakshata smiled. Quite a few times during the battle the cannon fired but the beam trailed off a little bit. Luckily for her, Monica was close enough that she got the kills.
"I assume you can fix it." Lelouch questioned.
"Easily." Rakshata smiled.
"Excellent." Lelouch said happily.
"I assume they'll be back the next day." Kallen smiled.
"Correct which means the next bit is up to Rivalz." Lelouch confirmed. This was arguably the most important part of the plan.
(Scene Skip)
It wasn't very often that Rivalz was truly able to help out Lelouch, but this was one of those moments. Rivalz had a side job as a bartender and his bar was pretty popular with the Britannian military. Just as Rakshata suspected the group was celebrating the victory over Sawasaki 'There he is' Rivalz thought to himself as he spotted Bartley was there with a smile on his face as the drinks began to flow. Rivalz job was to find a way to copy one of the key cards that they used to access the base.
"All HAIL Britannia!" Bartley shouted and the other military men did the same.
'Suckers' Rivalz thought to himself as they all began to get drinks.
"I can't believe that brat was so good with the Gawain. After that odd situation on Kamine Island I was nervous." Bartley admitted.
'They're talking about Monica huh.' Rivalz thought to himself as he listened in.
"Yeah. That brat she brought along must be her boytoy." Another soldier chuckled.
"Stupid girl. He had to leave but she was stuck there. Some boytoy he ended up being."
"Hey, think we have a shot with her." A soldier said with a lustful smile.
"Maybe" another said happily.
The talk was getting to Rivalz and he had to keep his cool. Looking away for a moment he activated his Geass, and a small red flash appeared around the room. Just as he hoped, Bartley came over to the bar. His Geass was all about influencing luck and getting the person he needed was a perfect example of that.
"Hey Kid mind making us another round." Bartley said happily.
"Sure" Rivalz smiled, and he made the round, but spiked it slightly so they would get drunk quicker. Now he just needed to wait for something to happen.
An hour later he finally got his chance when Bartley came back over, "Hey kid do you remember Prince Clovis."
"Yeah. Shame what happened to him." Rivalz said calmly.
"You know I was his right-hand man. Somehow, I let that bastard zero sneak onto the G1 and get him and ever since then security has been super tight in any area I'm involved in.
"Is that so" Rivalz smiled.
"Yeah. Now not only do you need an access card but a matching password."
"Really" Rivalz frowned. That would complicate things.
"Yeah, but since you seem like a nice kid, I'll tell you the secret."
"Hey General, are you sure we should be telling some punk kid?" A guy slurred.
"It doesn't matter. He's as Britannian as he gets, and I doubt he'd go anywhere near the base." Bartley chuckled.
"Alright" the man said nervously.
"My password is CLB101493."
"Wait a minute boss. You're telling me your password is Clovis's birthday."
"Of course. I owe him everything. Hopefully the bitch gives Zero what for whenever he gets the balls to attack." Bartley slurred.
One of the soldiers walked over to a drunk Bartley and took him away, "Sorry about him kid. He gets really weepy when it comes to Clovis" the other guy groaned.
"Don't worry about it." Rivalz said calmly. 'Now I just need the access card.' Rivalz thought to himself. That would be tricky to ask for.
"Hey, have we paid for the beers yet." Bartley wondered.
"Nope" Rivalz said calmly.
"Then let me get those." Bartley slurred. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet and then gave Rivalz what looked like a credit card but was actually the access card.
"One second" Rivalz smiled as he went over to the bar and moved to take care of the tab. As he used his free hand to bring up their tab, he slipped the other one below the counter where a scanner that Nina gave him was setup. As he reached to use the card Bartley realized his mistake.
"Wait a minute kid. That's the wrong card." Bartley slurred. Somehow, he had just realized it which was further proof of the power of his Geass.
"No problem." Rivalz smiled. This time he got a proper card and took care of everything.
"Boss you gotta be careful." One of the soldiers said nervously.
"We'll be fine. In fact! 1 more round on me for everyone!" Bartley smiled.
"YEAH!" the bar cheered and one more round was bought.
'All according to plan.' Rivalz smiled and he couldn't help but spare a glance at the person who was acting as his backup for the night.
'It seems Master Lelouch is luckier than I thought. Bartley just signed his own doom' Jeremiah smiled. He heard about the plan and was perfectly willing to watch in case something happened.
(Scene Skip)
With everything settled, Lelouch and a group consisting of him C.C Tohdoh and Tamaki made their way towards the base the next night. They had everything they needed for the plan. Thanks to Rivalz, they had everything they needed to enter the base and now it was time to get the Gawain. Nina took out the cameras ahead of time, but he still had a brown wig and brown contacts just in case. Hopefully he wouldn't need the cover, "Everyone remember the plan."
"Yes. We use Bartley's access code to sneak in and thanks to the blueprints supplied by Monica we can find and steal the Gawain." Tohdoh smiled.
"Tohdoh and I will be responsible for incapacitating any Britannian troops. Meanwhile you get the Gawain Lelouch." C.C smiled.
"And I'm here because I'm awesome." Tamaki chuckled.
"Whatever you say." C.C rolled her eyes. Tamaki was more like cannon fodder and they would let him get captured if it meant freeing the others.
"Let's go" Lelouch smiled as they arrived at the base. Getting in was easy thanks to the access card and password and the group moved throughout the base ready to claim their prize.
"This is too easy." Tamaki smiled.
"Yes, and we planned it that way. Because of how hungover everyone was from last night. Monica insisted they go home and get some sleep." C.C smiled.
"Yes, and that means guards should be at a minimum to nonexistent." Tohdoh smiled. It ended up being more on the non-existent side and the group easily found their target.
Lelouch was only able to see it from a distance but up close it was a marvel, "Let's go everyone. While C.C and I get the Gawain, you look out for anyone." Lelouch ordered as he and C.C climbed into the large machine which was ready to go.
A few minutes later everything was complete and C.C and Lelouch were locked in. For some insane reason, "Black Knights move out." Lelouch smiled as he grabbed Tohdoh and Tamaki. The group stormed out of the base and into the hidden bunker nearby that would take them back to their home base.
(Scene skip)
To say Cornelia was in a foul mood was an understatement. Late at night somebody managed to get Bartley's access code and sneak into the base where the Gawain was being held and stole it from right under their noses. She was certain it was the Black Knights which made it even worse, "Incompetent the lot of them. Somehow they managed to get by our security." Cornelia growled.
"Well based on what little we know the only chance of them being compromised was during the bar trip the night before." Guilford frowned.
"Yes, but if I remember correctly Sub-Viceroy Gottwald was there also, and he didn't drink. If something happened, he should've stepped in long before somebody could've taken what they need."
"Which means that either Bartley is lying."
"Or Jeremiah is. I'm inclined to trust Gottwald a bit more due to his connection to my family. He served my mother well and has served me well since he arrived." Cornelia sighed. She didn't really trust Gottwald, but Bartley was on thin ice to begin with. Plus it was his access code and password.
"What does this mean for our battle with the Black Knights?" Guilford wondered.
"I don't know Guilford. What I do know is the situation has gotten complicated yet again." Cornelia sighed
"I doubt the terrorists will be able to fix the Gawain's issues. Even Lloyd was unable to do so." Guilford said hoping to ease his lady's concern.
"Yes, but there's something else that bothers me." Cornelia admitted.
"What's that"
"When Sawasaki attacked it would've been the perfect chance for them to act but they did nothing."
"We had a Knight of the Rounds and our best pilot. They probably didn't need to." Guilford suggested.
"Yes, but they rely on public support and lately nothing has happened. They have to make a big move soon and that would've been it" Cornelia frowned.
"But what move can they make?" Guilford questioned.
"That's what I don't know." Cornelia wondered. Something about this stunk and they were far too calculated.
"Should we ask Gottwald what he saw." Guilford wondered.
"Of course" Cornelia ordered, and they called for Jeremiah.
"You called for me milady." Jeremiah said politely but internally he was nervous.
"I understand that during the trip to the bar, you were watching Bartley and his men."
Jeremiah relaxed calmly and smiled, "Yes they were rather drunk and saying some unflattering things about the Knight of Twelve, but otherwise nothing happened."
"Did Bartley lose track of his access card."
"Actually yes. He mistakenly handed it to the bartender but noticed his mistake before anything could've happened." Jeremiah confirmed.
"I see. And you're positive the bartender didn't do anything with the card."
'No. He was perfectly professional." Jeremiah replied. The camera actually hid the register so they wouldn't see anything. This was a perfectly executed plan.
"I see." Cornelia frowned.
"Well, what should we do?" Guilford wondered.
"Contact my brother. If he wants to keep Bartley he can. If not, he will be executed." Cornelia said firmly.
"Of course" Jeremiah smiled. Things were working out well for the Black Knights.
(Ashford)
"To the Black Knights" the council shouted happily as they enjoyed a small party in the council office with Nunnally away with friends.
"I still can't believe you made that work Lulu." Shirley smiled.
"It was honestly thanks to Rivalz. He got Bartley's card and gave Monica a reason to send them home." Lelouch smiled.
"It was thanks to my Geass and that drug you guys gave me. I still can't believe that my Geass worked that well." Rivalz smiled happily.
"Well the Gawain is yours Lelouch and now Britannia is panicking" Monica smiled.
"I do feel bad for my sister. She's got no idea that things are collapsing around her." Euphy chuckled.
"Yeah, but the problem is who's going to use the Gawain. Isn't it for two people?" Kallen wondered.
"I'm sure Rakshata can adjust it so one person can use it." Nina smiled.
"Well there you go. If she can't C.C and I will do it." Lelouch said happily.
"You're just saying that because having sex in a cockpit is kinky." Milly smiled as she drank some champagne.
"It's fun to do but the cleanup is a pain." Lelouch smirked.
"Who'd you fuck in a cockpit" Kallen wondered since none of the council had been to the base.
"Inoue." Lelouch smiled. "We've had sex in a few places, but she enjoyed the cockpit because Tamaki had to clean it up as punishment for what happened with Mao." Lelouch smiled.
"I see" Kallen smiled happily.
"So… can I have sex with you in the Gawain." Monica wondered.
"No because I can't exactly bring you to my base Monica." Lelouch chided.
"Damn it. I'm starting to regret not letting you capture me." Monica pouted.
"Seems the Knight of Twelve is a bit of a pervert." Euphemia smiled.
"Says the girl who had sex with him in a limo." Monica countered.
"That was one time." Euphy pouted.
"You snuck into the limo I sent for him and fucked him. Do you know how pissed I was Euphy?" Monica shouted.
"That's enough girls." Lelouch chided not wanting to cause another headache.
Euphemia was about to respond when Sayoko arrived, "Sorry to interrupt but Miss Nunnally will be back soon. Perhaps you should save this talk for another date."
"Right" Lelouch smiled, and the party came to an end.
(Scene Skip)
"Big brother can I ask you a question?" Nunnally said nervously as they sat down to eat dinner later that night.
"What is it" Lelouch said warmly. His sister was precious to him and he would do anything for her.
"When can we stop hiding?" Nunnally wondered.
Lelouch was taken aback by the comment, "Where did this come from?" Lelouch wondered.
"You've got Monica and Euphy coming over and they clearly know about me so why not just reveal ourselves. It feels weird hiding from Cornelia" Nunnally asked.
It killed Lelouch to hear Nunnally talk like that, but she didn't know what he knew, "Sorry Nunnally but those two are special. We can't reveal ourselves." Lelouch answered. The reality was that he couldn't reveal himself without his father getting involved and he didn't want that.
"Why not!" Nunnally cried.
Lelouch cursed, "Because Britannia is rotten Nunnally. Look at what Clovis did. He was willing to kill thousands to hide what he was doing. I don't want us back in that life. Plus isn't life good right now."
"It is but something feels off. We used to spend so much time together and now you're rarely around. Sure Shirley and Ms C.C help but it's still hard to be without my brother so much."
"I've been busy" Lelouch explained.
"With what?" Nunnally replied.
Lelouch froze because he really didn't want to tell his sister that he was Zero, "I've been talking with Monica and Euphy about a way we can be ourselves."
"Really!" Nunnally said happily.
"Yes. I understand how tough it is for you, but I promise I'm working on something." Lelouch said smoothly. It wasn't wrong since he did want to make things easier for her. Helping Nunnally was the main reason he became Zero after all.
"Okay" Nunnally said sweetly.
Lelouch sighed because his sister truly would be the death of him, 'I run an army of people that are trying to topple an empire and I lose to a little girl. How incredible is that.' Lelouch thought to himself.
(Scene Skip)
His sister's words sparked something in Lelouch but before he could do anything, he wanted to speak to the people who would be affected the most by any major move. When he arrived at the base the next day, he quickly called Tohdoh Ohgi and Kallen into his office for a private conversation, the final of whom skipped class that day thanks to being alerted to his plan. "I've gathered you all here because you three are the most important members of the organization. Tohdoh, while I am the leader there is no doubt the Japanese people look to you for guidance. Ohgi, you are the man whose resistance force was the start of the Black Knights. Kallen, as a person whose experienced life on the Japanese and Britannian side, you are the one who can best help me with what I'm about to suggest." Lelouch explained as each perked up.
"What's going on Lelouch?" Kallen said nervously.
"I believe it's time to bring this war to an end and not with violence, with politics." Lelouch replied.
"What makes you think you can bring Cornelia to the table." Tohdoh wondered.
"Three things. The first is that I'm the leader of the strongest resistance movement among all the areas. If I want to make peace, she'd be a fool to turn it down. Second, Euphemia is still in the settlement and Cornelia values Euphie's safety above all things. If my solution can keep her safe, my sister would gladly allow it. Third, is actually me. One of the reasons Cornelia is so afraid is because Area 11 is the same place I went before the war and it's believed it is where I died. If she thinks I'm alive she would do anything to have me back." Lelouch explained. Cornelia's greatest strength was her greatest weakness, and he could use that.
"You'd really expose yourself under these circumstances. I thought one of the reasons you were Zero was to avoid all of that." Ohgi asked curiously.
"It was and in truth it still is. However, if it can give us the safety that we require, I'm willing to expose myself." Lelouch answered.
"That's easy to say in theory but in practice that's not true." Kallen said angrily.
"I've been putting it in practice for a long time now Kallen. Jeremiah is our ally and he's the Sub-Viceroy. Euphy is a princess and she's kept my identity a secret. Suzaku knows who I am and has said nothing. Monica has helped us. I've been leveraging myself for a while and I know Cornelia well enough to know it would work."
"Perhaps but what would you do. You can't exactly free Japan." Kallen said angrily. That was the whole point of their resistance
"Actually I can. Britannia only needs Sakuradite for their knightmare frames, and it would be far easier on most of the Britannians to be back in the homeland and around their families. If we make a deal to keep the Sakuradite flowing it should give them a motivation to leave." Lelouch admitted. Truthfully, the Emperor needed Kamine Island but that was an easy thing to give up.
Tohdoh was visibly pleased, but there was one other thing he couldn't help but wonder, "Can you do these negotiations without revealing yourself.
"Possibly but it depends on how willing Cornelia is to forgive me for Clovis." Lelouch admitted.
"Have you discussed this with Euphy or Monica." Kallen wondered.
"No. I adore those girls, but they would mess it up especially Euphy." Lelouch admitted.
"And you're sure this will work." Tohdoh wondered.
"I believe that it is our best chance to free ourselves from Britannia without more unnecessary fighting." Lelouch answered.
Tohdoh took a deep breath before smiling, "Then we can start working on a plan with Kyoto immediately."
"Very well." Lelouch replied. Things were going well and with any luck this war would be over soon.
That's it for Chapter 20 and this was a fun idea. Figuring out how to take the Gawain was tricker than I thought because of all the things I needed to avoid particularly getting the Gawain in a way that didn't incriminate Monica or anybody else and that's where Rivalz and his Geass came into play. The next chapter will feature us prepare for the special zone and it's going to be tricky.
