The roof of the divination tower was in the perfect spot. The sunlight hit it in such a way that half was shaded and the other bathed in warmth. It was the best place to spend time on a Saturday afternoon, especially if you wanted to be alone.

That was what Hermione had intended to be. Alone. So she could study away from Harry and Ron's constant argument and quidditch talk. They were both going to completely fail their OWLs.

So Hermione had been thoroughly surprised when Pansy Parkinson had climbed through the trapdoor that led to the roof of the tower.

She smiled as she spotted Hermione. She blushed. Pansy looked so beautiful when she smiled. She walked over and sat next to Hermione.

"Hi," Hermione said, then cursed herself. But this was going to be awkward whatever she said.

"Hermione," Pansy said. She slid a finger under Hermione's chin and tilted her head up so they were face-to-face. By this time Hermione was pretty sure she was the same colour as a tomato. Pansy grinned.

"Stop blushing. You're making me embarrassed,"

Hermione smiled. "Sorry,"

Pansy leaned back and put her hands behind her head. "God, you're so adorable sometimes. Just stop, seriously. I'll die from cuteness overload,"

Hermione felt like her entire world was swimming in front of her eyes. Her heart was fire.

"What?" Pansy asked.

Hermione stared at her like she was insane. "You just called me adorable. No explanation?"

Pansy laughed. "You are slow on the uptake sometimes, aren't you?"

"What are you talking about?"

Pansy leaned forward and cupped Hermione's face in her hands. She stopped breathing.

"This,"

Hermione felt her mind fall off its hinges as Pansy kissed her. It felt like liquid euphoria was pumping through her veins. It was warm, and soft, and perfect, and it seemed to last for all eternity.

When she pulled away, Hermione was speechless.

"What was that?" She asked, shell-shocked. Pansy smiled again.

"Kissing, genius," She said. "Never done it before?"

Hermione kissed Pansy again. She had been denying her feelings for her for so long that it felt good to finally accept it. When they broke apart, Pansy seemed to be the shocked one.

"Let me guess. You're either straight and just experimenting, or you've been denying your sexuality this whole time?" She said.

"The second option," Hermione responded, looking at the floor. Pansy put her arm around her.

"Nothing to be ashamed of. Trust me, I know better than anyone," She scowled as if reliving some dark memory.

"Apart from Draco, maybe. He's so in love with Harry, I can't even deal with it anymore. The worst thing is, he doesn't even know," Pansy said. Hermione laughed.

"Harry and Draco," She said. "How did I not see that before?"

Pansy grinned. "So, Granger, want to go out some time?"

Hermione raised her eyebrows. "Real smooth,"

"Is that a yes?"

Hermione leaned her head on Pansy's shoulder. "You're insufferable, you know,"

Pansy sighed and stroked Hermione's cheek. "For someone who's so good at tests, you really are crap at answering questions,"

Hermione grinned wickedly. "Yeah, I'll go out with you,"

Neither one knew that Harry and Draco were perched at the edge of the Astronomy Tower, crouched next to each other with two pairs of binoculars.
