div data-reddit-rtjson="{The sights outside became a mesmerizing blur for Harry as he stared at the sights outside the window. He was with Ron and Hermione in the train compartment, headed towards King's Cross Station. He wasn't listening to the conversation that the two of them were speaking about. He tapped his fingers on his seat quietly. It had been a month since the battle in the graveyard. It had been a month since Voldemort murdered Cedric, the green light that had turned him from a celebrating, tired but joyful student into a corpse. It had been a month since the dark lord Voldemort had returned, and used his blood to bring himself back to life. The last few weeks weren't pleasant but he hadn't been bothered by anyone. He knew about the whispers that people around him muttered when he was passing along. He knew about Draco Malfoy and his friends spreading lies about that tragic night. And he knew about his friends discussing how to help him, but their efforts were in vain. He ignored them. He was too wrapped up in his thoughts to care what others said about him. He felt disconnected from reality, and he ignored anyone that tried to talk to him until about a week earlier, when his friends carefully spoke with him, being careful not to upset him. Even then, he was still more reserved than before the tasks, and Ron and Hermione didn't push him. But he was interrupted by his thoughts by the sound of plastic unwrapping and Ron's words.D'you want a chocolate frog?\ he asked and glanced at Hermione. \You too,\ he added hastily. Harry and Hermione took some. Ron, satisfied, struck a conversation with Harry about Quidditch, and Harry contributed it. It had been a while until Harry realized that Hermione was being more quiet than usual. She was looking at the compartment door with a faraway look in her eyes. Ron realized this too and asked, \Hermione, are you alright?\ It snapped Hermione out of the trance.\You've been pretty quiet,\ Harry observed while crumpling the chocolate frog wrapper and throwing it in the trash bin.\Oh, I'm fine, don't worry, I was just thinking,\ Hermione offhandedly said, while twirling her quill. Ron looked at her funnily and asked, \ Yeah?\ Hermione asked, looking a bit distracted\What were you thinking?\ he pressed. Hermione looked rather hesitant in answering before saying \Oh... Well, I was thinking about, well, You-Know-Who.\ She looked worriedly at Harry. Harry nodded and she relaxed. \He's back. So I thought to myself, what do you think would Dumbledore do about it? And the ministry is clearly against him, so whatever he does, will he do it illegally?\ Hermione wondered. Ron looked rather troubled and Harry didn't know what to say. Dumbledore said something to Sirius and Snape but he didn't know what they were referring to. So he kept quiet. But just then, the compartment received a soft knock. Hermione slid it open and stepped in a girl, surveying them with her silver bright eyes. Her dirty blonde hair was pulled into a ponytail. She wore school robes with blue accents and the badge of Ravenclaw on the right of her chest. She wore unorthodox clothing, as expressed by her radish earrings and her bracelets made by paper macheted magazines. She took a good look at them before introducing herself.I'm Luna Lovegood. You're Harry Potter, right?\ she asked. He nodded and she looked satisfied while Ron and Hermione shared a glance at each other, confused and a bit annoyed.\ And you're Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger?\ she pressed.\Why yes,\ Hermione responded, carefully. Luna nodded and said out loud, \We're going to need some privacy in here.\ She cast a spell at the door so others couldn't hear them and turned her attention back on the trio. And then, she said seriously, \I have a message for all of you,\ The three glanced at each other, looking worried then looked at Luna. \What is it?\ Hermione asked, half expecting it to be an elaborate prank.\It's rather interesting, and it would take a bit of time to explain,\ Luna said dreamily. Harry looked interested as she you ever heard of the Order of the Phoenix?\ she asked. Ron looked intrigued before answering, \My mom told me about it. It was a resistance group, right?\ Yes. It was during the First Wizarding War.\ she paused, and looked at the expressions on their faces. She had all of their attention, and Ron aimlessly fidgeting with a sickle while listening. She continues, \It was an illegal organization that did everything it can to sabotage Voldemort. It had some of the best witches and wizards of their time like Professor McGonagall, and it had members like Neville's parents.\ Neville?\Yes, and people like Professor- sorry, Remus Lupin. And finally, Lily Potter and James Potter.\Ron was surprised, Harry was gobsmacked and Hermione was aggressively taking mental notes. It took half a minute until Hermione asked, \Who led it?\It was led by Professor Dumbledore,\ Ron answered for her. \Who'd you think would name a resistance group after their pet bird?\ he joked. Luna nodded approvingly. During her father's visit to the headmaster, he told her that he saw a phoenix which Dumbledore had explained the circumstances behind it. But her thoughts were interrupted by Harry.\Since Voldemort is back, my dad decided to contact Professor Dumbledore. My father is the editor-in-chief of a newspaper. Harry, intrigued, asked, \What newspaper is it?\ It's called, The Quibbler,\ she answered while twirling her hair absentmindedly. Seeing the confused look at their faces, she elaborated further, \It's a local newspaper, and it talks a lot about crumple horned snorkacks, wrackspurts, nargles and other things like that. Many people tend to disagree with its existence but,\ she shrugged, \It's not new for people to do that.\Hermione was confused, to say the least.I've never heard anything about those... animals. Where did you read the book about them?\Well, there have been reported sightings about it and based on those-\No, not that,\ Hermione said crossly. \Actual sightings, pictures of those things flying around, research papers from biologists and proof, aside from the words of others.\Luna responded, \Well, the point of our newspaper is to spread awareness, and because nobody pays that much attention to our newspaper, it's not that known right now and there aren't any papers of it. And, some of those are invisible, so there aren't any sightings, like Nargles. There's one Ron right now..\Luna flailed her arms near where Ron was. Ron immediately moved to the left and stared at her. Harry was uncomfortable and extremely confused and Hermione, by the way, she was staring at Luna, was exasperated. After that, she seemed satisfied enough stopped waving her hands randomly around the ... ignoring that, why did your father contact Dumbledore, and why does he owning a paper have to do with anything?\ Harry asked. Luna asked a question back, \Well, have you ever heard of the Free French in World War 2?\ Ron answered while Harry and Hermione responded with, \The Free French was a resistance group in World War 2, a devastating war fought by the muggles by the axis and allied powers,\ Hermione dictated, sounding like she swallowed a textbook. \After Nazi Germany had invaded France and the nation was forced to surrender, the organization was made, resisting the regime. The members were people who by the day worked in the fields, at night worked hard in the hopes of liberating France, along with help from the allied powers.\Humans are resilient people, whether they be wizards or muggles,\ Luna dreamily stated. Pausing for a second, Ron was confused. \I don't get why you introduced that story. Sure, that was pretty interesting but how is that related to your dad's newspaper?\Luna elaborated further, \The Free French couldn't gather up in one place every night for any announcements, that would look too suspicious. Instead, at the end of a radio message, they would say random things. But, they were disguised as coded messages, for the rebellion. Do you see where I'm getting at?\Hermione gasped before asking enthusiastically, \So you're planning on using your newspaper as a tool to pass on coded messages?!\ Luna confirmed this by nodding her head. Harry had some questions though.\I'm just asking, why doesn't the order just mail the information to us?\ he asked.\Isn't it obvious Harry?\ Hermione inquired. \The minister saw you and Dumbledore as a liar and a threat. They might read our messages and see that Dumbledore made an illegal group, and that would give them a reason for arresting Dumbledore! But nobody would suspect that they were communicating with us in plain sight!\And we have a reputation for having ridiculous conspiracy theories, so that would help us avoid them,\ Luna added in.\Wait, so you don't believe that, err, Wrackspurts exist?\ Harry quizzed.\They exist, but everyone seems to think otherwise, so we can use that against them,\ Luna shrugged, sounding unconcerned. Hermione wanted to argue, but thought better about it and kept her mouth , these codes are present in the last article of the Quibbler, here, I'll show you.\ She pulled out a copy and flipped it to the last page. She pointed at the piece of text at the bottom right. \That's where the code will be. There's nothing there yet until tomorrow. That's when we're printing these out.\Hermione looked interested and asked, \Can you give us an example of a code?\Luna pulled out three pieces of paper, \Well, here are the codes, just remember to burn it after you memorized it.\ She paused, and looked at Ron, \We were going to send it to your family by tomorrow but you were already here.\Harry squinted at it, \There are no updates about the Crumple-Horned Snorcack case,\ he recited. \That means that there's nothing new that happened right now,\ Luna said, not taking her eyes off the about this, umm, let me see, 'We have successfully cleared some nargles out,\ Ron read out loud. \What's that supposed to mean?\ he asked. Luna brightened and responded, \It means that a mission was successful.\Hermione snatched the paper and read, \We missed the chance to find one of them.\ She looked at Luna quizzically. Luna softly responded, \It means that someone was hurt or someone died. Let's hope that it never reports this.\There was a Crumple Horned Snorcack spotted at, uh, there's a blank,\ Harry told them with a puzzled expression. \That means that a battle just happened,\ Luna explained. \The blank is where the battle had taken place. There was a Crumple Horned Snorcack spotted at the Malfoy's house. That means that they fought in the Malfoy house.\ Well, the other codes and their meanings would be found there. Burn it afterward though,\ she hastily added. \Do you guys have any more questions?\Uh, yeah,\ Ron said. \Why doesn't the order just use the radio instead of a newspaper?\ When asked to elaborate further, he responded \the muggles used radio and that went well. So why don't we use it too?\Luna thought about it for a moment before responding, \Using a radio would be more noticeable rather than reading a newspaper, and everyone would start asking why we were listening to radios all of a sudden.\ she replied. \It's more subtle if you read a newspaper, at least they can't hear you.\ \And, it's harder for people to coordinate the time on the radio. With a newspaper, you don't have any pressure to read it as soon as possible,\ Hermione added. Luna confirmed this by nodding her head. Ron paused for a moment. \Blimey, the order thought this through didn't they?\ Luna and Harry nodded. But Hermione still had a few questions.\ What alibi would we use if they saw us reading, well, the Quibbler?\ she emphasized on the Quibbler, purely because it would ruin Harry's reputation if they saw him reading on a garbage newspaper.\You could just say that you were reading it for the laughs,\ Luna answered, unconcerned. She was used to people making fun of her reading the newspaper. She fiddled with her flamingo bracelet, she loved it, even though people have told her multiple times to stop wearing it because it was 'unnatural.' Hermione still had one question. \So I know that these are coded messages for the order, but what if someone farther away was needed?\ she saw the confused looks on the rest and explained further, \The paper is only delivered in the morning. What if it was in the afternoon and they needed a certain member to help them? How would they contact them?\These coded messages weren't mostly made for the members of the order, it was for their friends and family and students in Hogwarts that are worried for their relatives,\ Luna answered. \They have a different communication system, but Dumbledore didn't want us to know what it was.\Hermione nodded. That made a lot more sense. There were no more questions, except for Harry who wasn't allowed to accept any news from them. Hermione reassured him that they would send him the newspapers if anything different happened. Satisfied, Luna told them, \I'll see you in two months.\ She grabbed her belongings and hesitated for a second Harry thought she was going to say something more but was proven wrong with the closing of the compartment door.:{}}]}"

He nodded and she looked satisfied while Ron and Hermione shared a glance at each other, confused and a bit annoyed." And you're Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger?" she pressed."Why yes," Hermione responded, carefully. Luna nodded and said out loud, "We're going to need some privacy in here." She cast a spell at the door so others couldn't hear them and turned her attention back on the trio. And then, she said seriously, "I have a message for all of you," The three glanced at each other, looking worried then looked at Luna. "What is it?" Hermione asked, half expecting it to be an elaborate prank."It's rather interesting, and it would take a bit of time to explain," Luna said dreamily. Harry looked interested as she began./span/div

Ron looked intrigued before answering, "My mom told me about it. It was a resistance group, right?" Yes. It was during the First Wizarding War." she paused, and looked at the expressions on their faces. She had all of their attention, and Ron aimlessly fidgeting with a sickle while listening. She continues, "It was an illegal organization that did everything it can to sabotage Voldemort. It had some of the best witches and wizards of their time like Professor McGonagall, and it had members like Neville's parents." Neville?"Yes, and people like Professor- sorry, Remus Lupin. And finally, Lily Potter and James Potter."Ron was surprised, Harry was gobsmacked and Hermione was aggressively taking mental notes. It took half a minute until Hermione asked, "Who led it?"It was led by Professor Dumbledore," Ron answered for her. "Who'd you think would name a resistance group after their pet bird?" he joked. Luna nodded approvingly. During her father's visit to the headmaster, he told her that he saw a phoenix which Dumbledore had explained the circumstances behind it. But her thoughts were interrupted by Harry."Since Voldemort is back, my dad decided to contact Professor Dumbledore. My father is the editor-in-chief of a newspaper. Harry, intrigued, asked, "What newspaper is it?" It's called, The Quibbler," she answered while twirling her hair absentmindedly. Seeing the confused look at their faces, she elaborated further, "It's a local newspaper, and it talks a lot about crumple horned snorkacks, wrackspurts, nargles and other things like that. Many people tend to disagree with its existence but," she shrugged, "It's not new for people to do that."Hermione was confused, to say the least./span/div

Where did you read the book about them?"Well, there have been reported sightings about it and based on those-""No, not that," Hermione said crossly. "Actual sightings, pictures of those things flying around, research papers from biologists and proof, aside from the words of others."Luna responded, "Well, the point of our newspaper is to spread awareness, and because nobody pays that much attention to our newspaper, it's not that known right now and there aren't any papers of it. And, some of those are invisible, so there aren't any sightings, like Nargles. There's one Ron right now.."/span/div

Harry asked. Luna asked a question back, "Well, have you ever heard of the Free French in World War 2?"No," Ron answered while Harry and Hermione responded with, "Yes."The Free French was a resistance group in World War 2, a devastating war fought by the muggles by the axis and allied powers," Hermione dictated, sounding like she swallowed a textbook. "After Nazi Germany had invaded France and the nation was forced to surrender, the organization was made, resisting the regime. The members were people who by the day worked in the fields, at night worked hard in the hopes of liberating France, along with help from the allied powers."Humans are resilient people, whether they be wizards or muggles," Luna dreamily stated. Pausing for a second, Ron was confused. "I don't get why you introduced that story. Sure, that was pretty interesting but how is that related to your dad's newspaper?"Luna elaborated further, "The Free French couldn't gather up in one place every night for any announcements, that would look too suspicious. Instead, at the end of a radio message, they would say random things. But, they were disguised as coded messages, for the rebellion. Do you see where I'm getting at?"Hermione gasped before asking enthusiastically, "So you're planning on using your newspaper as a tool to pass on coded messages?!" Luna confirmed this by nodding her head. Harry had some questions though."I'm just asking, why doesn't the order just mail the information to us?" he asked."Isn't it obvious Harry?" Hermione inquired. "The minister saw you and Dumbledore as a liar and a threat. They might read our messages and see that Dumbledore made an illegal group, and that would give them a reason for arresting Dumbledore! But nobody would suspect that they were communicating with us in plain sight!"And we have a reputation for having ridiculous conspiracy theories, so that would help us avoid them," Luna added in."Wait, so you don't believe that, err, Wrackspurts exist?" Harry quizzed."They exist, but everyone seems to think otherwise, so we can use that against them," Luna shrugged, sounding unconcerned. Hermione wanted to argue, but thought better about it and kept her mouth shut./span/div

She pulled out a copy and flipped it to the last page. She pointed at the piece of text at the bottom right. "That's where the code will be. There's nothing there yet until tomorrow. That's when we're printing these out."Hermione looked interested and asked, "Can you give us an example of a code?"Luna pulled out three pieces of paper, "Well, here are the codes, just remember to burn it after you memorized it." She paused, and looked at Ron, "We were going to send it to your family by tomorrow but you were already here."Harry squinted at it, "There are no updates about the Crumple-Horned Snorcack case," he recited. "That means that there's nothing new that happened right now," Luna said, not taking her eyes off the newspaper./span/div

"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked. Luna brightened and responded, "It means that a mission was successful."Hermione snatched the paper and read, "We missed the chance to find one of them." She looked at Luna quizzically. Luna softly responded, "It means that someone was hurt or someone died. Let's hope that it never reports this."There was a Crumple Horned Snorcack spotted at, uh, there's a blank," Harry told them with a puzzled expression. "That means that a battle just happened," Luna explained. "The blank is where the battle had taken place. There was a Crumple Horned Snorcack spotted at the Malfoy's house. That means that they fought in the Malfoy house." Well, the other codes and their meanings would be found there. Burn it afterward though," she hastily added. "Do you guys have any more questions?"Uh, yeah," Ron said. "Why doesn't the order just use the radio instead of a newspaper?" When asked to elaborate further, he responded "the muggles used radio and that went well. So why don't we use it too?"/span/div

div class="public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr" data-offset-key="9s1b-0-0"span data-offset-key="9s1b-0-0"Luna thought about it for a moment before responding, "Using a radio would be more noticeable rather than reading a newspaper, and everyone would start asking why we were listening to radios all of a sudden." she replied. "It's more subtle if you read a newspaper, at least they can't hear you." "And, it's harder for people to coordinate the time on the radio. With a newspaper, you don't have any pressure to read it as soon as possible," Hermione added. Luna confirmed this by nodding her head. Ron paused for a moment. "Blimey, the order thought this through didn't they?" Luna and Harry nodded. But Hermione still had a few questions." What alibi would we use if they saw us reading, well, the Quibbler?" she emphasized on the Quibbler, purely because it would ruin Harry's reputation if they saw him reading on a garbage newspaper."You could just say that you were reading it for the laughs," Luna answered, unconcerned. She was used to people making fun of her reading the newspaper. She fiddled with her flamingo bracelet, she loved it, even though people have told her multiple times to stop wearing it because it was 'unnatural.' Hermione still had one question. "So I know that these are coded messages for the order, but what if someone farther away was needed?" she saw the confused looks on the rest and explained further, "The paper is only delivered in the morning. What if it was in the afternoon and they needed a certain member to help them? How would they contact them?"These coded messages weren't mostly made for the members of the order, it was for their friends and family and students in Hogwarts that are worried for their relatives," Luna answered. "They have a different communication system, but Dumbledore didn't want us to know what it was."Hermione nodded. That made a lot more sense. There were no more questions, except for Harry who wasn't allowed to accept any news from them. Hermione reassured him that they would send him the newspapers if anything different happened. Satisfied, Luna told them, "I'll see you in two months." She grabbed her belongings and hesitated for a second Harry thought she was going to say something more but was proven wrong with the closing of the compartment door./span/div
