Ron quickly got up, because he wanted to hurry up and get a ring for Hermione. He put on a red shirt and a pair of jeans, before walking out of his room and heading towards Harry's room. He started knocking on the door, but there was no answer. He continued knocking, before asking, "What's going on?" He paused and said, "Harry must be sleeping. I better get in there and wake him up." He opened the door and went inside.
Ron looked around and saw that Harry was sleeping in a bed. Ron felt weird, because he was used to Harry being the one, that woke him up. He had an amused look on his face, while saying, "It appears a lot has changed, in recent years. I'm not the lazy one, anymore." He grabbed Harry and started shaking him, while saying, "Wake up!"
Harry opened his eyes and saw Ron. He raised an eyebrow, while saying, "Hi, Ron. What's going on?"
Ron replied, "I had to wake you up."
Harry asked, "Why?"
Ron explained, "Because we have to get the ring, for Hermione."
Harry replied, "But you didn't have to wake me up, at such an early time of day. What time is it?" Harry looked at his alarm and realized that it was 6:00 a.m. He said, "I can't believe, that you're already awake, Ron. You would never be up, at this hour, when we were at Hogwarts."
Ron said, "That's true, but it's been five years, since we graduated." He put his hands on his hips, while saying, "I've changed, since then. I've become smarter, more dependable and a better worker."
Harry doubted Ron, but he wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He asked, "Is that really true?"
Ron nervously chuckled and said, "Probably not. I usually get up, at 9:00 a.m. However, I'm willing to change that, for Hermione. I want to get the ring, as soon as possible and I want to propose, before this week is over."
Harry replied, "I can tell you're serious, about this. I'm going to do what I can, to make your goal happen."
Ron gave Harry a hug and said, "Thank you, buddy."
Harry replied, "You're welcome."
Ron said, "Get on your day clothes and do whatever you need to do, to get ready. I'm going to grab my jacket and wallet." Harry nodded.
Ron stepped out of Harry's room and started walking to his room. He tried to be as quiet, as he possibly could, to make sure that Hermione didn't wake up. Ron said, "Hermione's a hardworking person, who likes to do as much, in a single day, as possible. However, I doubt she's up, at this early hour."
Suddenly, Ron started hearing a voice, that sounded like Hermione's voice. He walked to Hermione's door and paid close attention, to the voice. The voice was coming from Hermione, who was awake. Hermione was sitting on her bed, while reading a book. Ron whispered, "Hermione's already awake. If Harry and I leave the hotel, she'll wonder where I am." He paused, while wondering what he was supposed to do. He whispered, "Harry and I will have to go to the store and return to the hotel, as soon as possible."
Hermione put down her book, because she started hearing a voice, that sounded like Ron's voice. She asked, "Is Ron awake? Is he at my door?" She stepped off her bed, put on a purple robe and walked to the door.
Ron's eyes widened, when Hermione and opened the door and started looking at him. He nervously said, "Hi, Hermione."
Hermione asked, "What's going on?"
Ron tried to come up with a new plan, as quickly as possible. After a moment of silence, he said, "Harry and I are going to be leaving the hotel, for a short time."
Hermione asked, "Are you leaving, now?"
Ron said, "Yes."
Hermione replied, "But it's so early. I didn't think you would even be awake, at this early hour. Have you even had breakfast?"
Ron said, "No, but Harry and I have something important, that we need to do."
Hermione asked, "What is it?"
Ron said, "Um, it's nothing, that you need to know about."
Hermione replied, "That seems suspicious."
Ron said, "It's not suspicious, my love. Harry's my best friend and we haven't spent enough quality-time, in recent years."
Hermione replied, "I understand."
Ron asked, "Really?"
Hermione said, "Well, I don't really understand your reason, for getting up and leaving, at such an early hour. However, I can understand your reasoning, for wanting to spend more time with Harry. I hope you guys have a nice time."
Ron smiled and replied, "Thank you, Hermione. I'll be back, soon and we'll have a great time, together."
Hermione responded, "That sounds lovely."
After Ron walked away, Draco walked up to Hermione and said, "Hi."
Hermione was surprised, that so many people were up, at this early hour. She said, "Um, hi, Draco. You're up, early."
Draco replied, "So are you."
Hermione explained, "I love reading, so I like to be an early riser and read a few chapters, before I get ready for the day."
Draco said, "Since I'm older and more mature, I won't call you a bookworm, for doing that."
Hermione replied, "Thank goodness."
Draco started pacing around the hallway, while saying, "I've been thinking about Luna, recently. When we went to Hogwarts, I was a bully, so I just made fun of her. I didn't think about her, that much. However, I'm starting to realize, that she's a beautiful woman. Does she have a boyfriend?"
Hermione answered, "I don't think so."
Draco smiled, while saying, "I'm glad to hear that."
A few minutes later, Ron returned to Harry's room. Harry had put on a blue shirt and a pair of jeans. Ron looked at him, while asking, "Are you ready to go?"
Harry said, "Yeah, but what about Hermione?"
Ron laughed and replied, "She's not coming with us, Harry. It would spoil the surprise, if she was with us, when we got the ring."
Harry said, "I know that. Won't Hermione be curious, about why we're leaving the hotel?"
Ron calmly replied, "You don't need to be concerned, about that. I already created an excuse, that she bought. It's nice, to be able to lie, without feeling guilty." He paused and asked, "Is that a bad thing to say?"
Harry replied, "Maybe, but let's not focus on that."
Ron said, "We need to find the ring. That's the thing, that we need to focus on." Harry got on his jacket.
Harry and Ron started walking out of the hotel, while Harry said, "We might be in trouble."
Ron asked, "Why?"
Harry said, "I don't know if they'll be any stores, that are open, considering how early it is."
Ron replied, "Well, you know this area better than I do, so I'll have you do the driving."
Suddenly, Harry remembered something. He looked at Ron, while saying, "A few years ago, an antique shop opened up. The owner's a bit eccentric and so are his store's hours. He often opens the place up, early in the morning."
Ron asked, "Do you think it'll be open, by now?"
Harry said, "It might be."
Ron replied, "Let's find out." Harry nodded.
Ron and Harry went into the lobby. Ron accidentally bumped into a couple of bellboys. The bellboys fell to the ground and passed out. Ron nervously smiled and said, "I'm sorry."
Ron and Harry left the hotel and went into the parking lot. They went into Harry's car. Harry got into the driver's seat and started heading towards the antique store. Ron took a close look, at the car. It looked new and well-polished. The car was blue and had two stereos. Ron said, "This is a nice car. How long have you had it?"
Harry said, "A couple of months. For a while, I was driving a car, that my uncle and aunt got me."
Ron looked surprised, while saying, "They actually got you a car?"
Harry explained, "It was a used car, that was decades-old. The doors had holes, most of the windows were broken and it looked like a mess. Frankly, I think Uncle Vernon got me that car, because he wanted me to get into an accident."
Ron said, "I've had my car, for a couple of years. It's okay, but your car is better. Hermione has a better car, too. I'm hoping I get to drive her car, after we get married." Ron paused and said, "I just thought of something."
Harry asked, "What is it?"
Ron said, "What if Hermione doesn't want to marry me?"
Harry replied, "You shouldn't worry about that."
Ron said, "But it's a possibility. She could reject my offer and that could ruin our relationship."
Harry replied, "You love her and she loves you. You guys have been together, for over five years. I can't guarantee, that she'll say yes, but you shouldn't get stressed. You should try to be calm."
Ron said, "I guess I'll try. By the way, do you think you'll get married?"
Harry replied, "I don't have a girlfriend, so I don't know."
Ron said, "I thought you were dating Luna."
Harry sighed and replied, "That was a rumor, that you were spreading."
Ron said, "Oh, it could be possible, that I lied to myself. I didn't think it was possible, to do that, but that would be cool." Harry looked unamused.
Meanwhile, Luna walked to Hermione's room and knocked on the door. Hermione put down the book, that she was reading and opened the door. She saw Luna, who was wearing a unicorn costume. Hermione looked confused, while saying, "Hi, Luna. Why are you wearing that. Is that your nightwear or something?"
Luna replied, "No, I like wearing a different animal costume, each day. It's a theme, that I've been working on. It's rather fun."
Hermione said, "It's good to see you."
Luna replied, "Likewise."
Hermione asked, "What's going on?"
Luna said, "I have a question."
Hermione asked, "What is it?"
Luna asked, "Are you dating Ron?"
Hermione said, "Yes I am. I thought you knew that. We've been dating, for years."
Luna replied, "I know that." She paused and said, "Well, I thought I knew that. Ron's been telling a lot of lies, that involve romantic relationships. Because of that, I didn't know if you were his girlfriend."
Hermione replied, "I am and I must admit, that I can't stand his lies. However, I think he won't be doing more lies, considering what Ginny did to him."
Luna said, "I have another question, Hermione. Does Harry have a girlfriend?"
Hermione replied, "No he doesn't. Why do you ask?"
Luna responded, "It's just something, that I wanted to know." Luna started making unicorn sounds, while walking away.
A few minutes later, Harry and Ron went to the antique store. They got out of the car and saw that the store was open. Ron felt relieved and he did a victory dance, before he and Harry walked into the store. The antique store was full of various collectibles, from several decades. The store had toys, videos, comics, magazines, bookcases, batteries, trash cans, and several other items.
The store's owner was named Rino Bader. He had black hair and wore a pair of superhero pajamas. He walked up to Harry and shook his hand, while saying, "It's good to see you, Harry."
Harry replied, "Thank you, Mr. Bader. I brought my friend, Ron."
Mr. Bader shook Ron's hand, while saying, "Harry talks about you, all the time."
Ron asked, "Really? Well, I'm flattered. What has he told you?"
Mr. Bader said, "He's told me too much, to tell you. I would probably have to write seven books, to explain it all."
Harry said, "Today, we're looking for something specific. Ron wants to propose, to Hermione. He needs a ring, but he doesn't have a lot of money. Does this place have any rings?"
Mr. Bader replied, "It does. It's in the jewelry section."
Harry and Ron started following Mr. Bader, to the jewelry section. The jewelry was kept in a metal case, that was near the cash register. Mr. Bader opened the case and grabbed a set of rings. They were both silver and one of them included a purple diamond.
Ron looked at the rings and said, "They look good. How much do they cost?"
Mr. Bader answered, "Eighty-dollars, for both of them."
Harry said, "Mr. Bader, that's not enough money. You won't make that much, with such low prices."
Mr. Bader replied, "I aim to make people happy, rather than scam a bunch of customers."
Ron said, "I respect that. I'll only need one of the rings."
Harry nudged Ron and replied, "You'll need both of the rings."
Ron had a confused look on his face, while asking, "Why?"
Harry said, "You'll need one ring, for Hermione and the other one, for yourself."
Ron replied, "Oh, I guess I didn't think of that. I'll buy both of the rings."
Draco went into the store and walked by the front counter. He eyed the rings and said, "Wow, this look really nice. The one, with the purple diamond, looks incredibly beautiful. I think I'm going to buy that."
Ron replied, "I'm sorry, but I'm going to buy it."
Draco asked, "Why do you think you can buy it?"
Ron said, "I saw it, before you did."
Draco replied, "I need the ring."
Ron raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why?"
Draco said, I think that Luna would appreciate the ring."
Harry asked, "You like Luna?"
Draco said, "You could say that." He looked at Mr. Bader, while asking, "How much does the purple-diamond ring cost?"
Mr. Bader said, "Ron's buying that ring, as well as the other ring, for a total of eighty dollars."
Draco asked, "You're only charging eighty-dollars, for two rings?" Mr. Bader nodded. Draco said, "You're a very generous man. I'm going to accept the offer."
Mr. Bader replied, "I truly am sorry, young man, but you can't buy the rings. Ron's buying them."
Draco angrily sighed and responded, "Okay."
Ron handed eighty-dollars, to Mr. Bader and said, "There you go."
Mr. Bader replied, "Thank you."
Ron grabbed the rings and put them in his pocket. He looked at Harry, while saying, "That was actually easier, than I'd thought it would be. Thank you, for showing me this place."
Harry replied, "My pleasure. It's a nice store."
Harry and Ron stepped out of the store. Draco also stepped out and he gave Ron an intimidating stare, while saying, "Give me the purple-diamond ring."
Ron asked, "What are you talking about?"
Draco said, "I know things haven't been great, between you, me and Harry. This is your chance, to make me respect you. Give me the ring, so I can give it to Luna."
Ron replied, "I need the ring."
Draco asked, "Why?"
Ron said, "I'm going to propose to Hermione."
Draco replied, "Do that, without the ring."
Ron said, "That's not happening. Leave me alone, Malfoy."
Draco grabbed Ron and started shaking him around, while saying, "Give me the ring."
Harry sternly said, "Let go of Ron, Malfoy."
Draco said, "That's not going to happen, until Ron gives me the ring."
Harry started pulling on Draco's shirt, to try to make him let go of Ron. Draco ignored Harry. Harry kept pulling and pulling, until he accidentally tore off Draco's shirt. Draco was so determined, to get the ring, that he didn't seem to care about his ripped shirt.
A police officer walked by and saw Draco throwing Ron around the sidewalk. The officer stepped closer and looked at Harry, while asking, "What's going on?"
Harry pointed at Draco, while saying, "This bully was trying to take a special ring, from my friend."
The officer looked at Draco, while saying, "Stop bothering Harry Potter's friend."
Draco replied, "Okay."
The officer stared at Ron, while asking, "Do you want to press charges?"
Draco had a nervous look on his face, but Ron said, "Nah."
The officer nudged Draco and said, "You're lucky, shirtless guy. Stop threatening Harry's friends and do something more productive, like get a new shirt."
After the police officer walked away, Draco looked confused, while staring at Ron and asking, "How come you didn't press charges? I tried to take your girlfriend's ring."
Ron replied, "I wanted things to stop being bad, between you, me and Harry."
Draco was surprised, but he responded, "Thank you." He shook Ron's hand and started walking away.
Harry and Ron got into Harry's car and went back to the hotel. They walked into the hotel. Ron started heading back to his room, while whispering, "Harry, I'll put the rings in a little box and put the rings in my jacket."
Harry asked, "Do you think that's safe?"
Ron said, "I'm sure it'll be okay."
Harry replied, "You know, you're incredibly lucky, that you were able to get a set of rings, at such a low price. That's an offer, that you'll probably never be able to get. You better keep the rings as safe, as humanly possible."
Ron responded, "I'll try to do that. After all, Hermione's the most wonderful woman, that I've ever met and I want to be with her, forever."
Harry asked, "When are you going to propose?"
Ron said, "I was planning on proposing, in a few days, but I'm so excited and we got the ring, so quickly. You know what? I might propose, tonight."
Harry replied, "That sounds great. I wish you the best." Ron gave Harry a hug.
After Harry returned to his room, Hermione stepped out of her room, because she thought she heard Ron's voice. Thankfully, she didn't know what Ron had been saying. She looked at him, while saying, "Hi, Ron. You weren't gone, for very long."
Ron replied, "That's true, but I think Harry and I accomplished a lot, in that short amount of time."
Hermione and Ron walked into Hermione's room. Ron looked down and saw a stack of comics. Hermione explained, "I found these comics, a few days ago, at a thrift shop. I figured you would want them."
Ron looked excited, while replying, "Thank you, Hermione." He grabbed the stack of comics and said, "I'm going to read these. I'm sure they'll be pretty epic."
Hermione said, "So, we get to visit Hogwarts, this afternoon. Are you excited?"
Ron replied, "I sure am and I think there'll be another surprise, this evening."
Hermione asked, "What are you talking about?"
Ron said, "You'll find out." He kissed Hermione and started leaving the room. The purple-diamond ring fell out of his pocket and landed in a pile of books, that were next to the door. Ron didn't notice that, so he left Hermione's room and walked to his room.
