He found Heaven on her lips.
He didn't care if he was being selfish. He needed her like he needed oxygen. And he didn't care if no one else approved of them.
For once in his life, he was going to do something that he wanted. Not what was good for everyone else.
He lay beside her in his bed and traced promising words into her bare skin. Merlin, she was beautiful like this. She smiled mischievously at him, and his heart lurched.
"Hermione, I love you."
Her smile widened as she rolled over toward him to place a kiss on his lips. "I know."
There was a moment where the only sound in the room was the clock ticking on the wall. Harry sensed what was coming next and braced himself.
"We have to tell them. We have to tell him."
He sighed, covering his face with his hands. "Yeah, I know. What if he hates us?"
"Ron deserves the truth, Harry. No matter what."
He peeked at her from between his fingers. "I didn't think it would be so hard. I'm scared."
Hermione pulled his hands down to be cradled between hers. Smiling gently, she said, "Me too. But we'll get through this."
He leaned forward to kiss her again. They could deal with it tomorrow. Right now, the only thing that mattered was the two of them in this moment. Skin to skin. Heart to heart.
