A/N: It's been a while since I've written a HP story, like a really long while, but here I am and here this is. Canon pairing, cute little funny one (hopefully).

Enjoy!

Harry could be persuaded to say that he was genetically reckless. In that, if Ginny or Hermione or even old Minerva wanted to argue it, they could usually get him to agree that his first year was a reckless, wild ride.

He would have argued that circumstances made him that way, but that seemed to only apply to his later years, when he had already faced Voldemort once, and was aware he would probably face Voldemort again. Ickle first year Harry did not have that forewarning, he just tore around the castle courting mayhem, just like his father before him.

"But it was the situation I was in!" Harry denied vehemently.

"The midnight duel with Draco?"

"You wouldn't do the same?" Harry grumped.

"I didn't." Hermione said pointedly and he would sigh.

"Fine, maybe I was a little reckless in that moment." He conceded. "But I was an eleven year old boy, what did you expect?" He sighed and threw his hands up in the air.

"Deciding it would be a really good idea to go and get your library book of a crabby Professor Snape by sneaking towards the door of the teachers' common room?" Ginny would list off and Harry would scowl again.

"I was nervous, it was my first big quidditch match!"

"So you eavesdropped on a teacher who famously never liked you."

"How many of these situations have you got?"

"At least twelve." Hermione grinned and Harry's frown deepened.

"Fine!" He threw his hands in the air and the two women smirked. "I might have been reckless in my first year, I had just escaped the Dursleys, found out magic existed and that I was kind of a big deal in the wizarding world, what else would you do?" He stared at them pointedly.

"I mean, I had just found out magic existed." Hermione hummed. "But I threw all of my energy into learning the magic, not picking fights with Draco Malfoy." She shrugged and Harry snorted.

"Fair, nobody could throw themselves into learning like you." He smirked and she shook her head. "Fine, as I've said my first year was a wild one, but in reality it was practice for what was to come don't you think?" He rested back on the sofa where Ginny sat and rested his arm on the sofa back behind her.

"Oh without a doubt, but Minerva wants us to know that you really were your father's child." Hermione smiled at the pair. "Which means, that little boy that Ginny is currently growing is probably going to be identical to you." She said smugly watching Harry pale and Ginny laugh.

"If they have my temper then it's going to be even better." She snorted and Harry had frozen.

"He'll never be that bad."

"Aha so you admit it!" Hermione points her finger and laughs.

"What about the tiny one you're making at the moment!" Harry shot back.

"What about her?" She wrapped her hand around her small bump and smiled lazily.

"Yours will be just as mad!" Harry said desperately.

"Harry, mine is either going to be a know-it-all gannet, or the laziest smart arse known to humankind, mine will be just fine following your crazy tearaway across Hogwarts." Hermione patted her bump lightly and Ginny grinned at her.

"Either way, I think the pair of them will be reckless." Harry said stubbornly and Hermione shrugged.

"Probably, but if Hogwarts could handle James Potter and the Marauders, and then Harry Potter with his Golden Trio, then it could definitely handle whatever we produce."
