The good news was that she would never do it again, but the bad news…?
Ginny wanted to do something totally different for her bachelorette party rather than a girls' night in with weird gifts and male strippers like a few of her friends had.
Apparently, a pass time Muggles enjoyed was paintball. Hermione drove Ginny and her bachelorette party also consisting of Luna and her old school roommate Ella Jensen.
The paintball place was very… masculine. The blokes who were there laughed at the thought of "delicate" girls like them playing something as "manly" as paintball.
So, out of sheer spite, Ginny challenged them.
They didn't accept until Hermione goaded them into it.
The girls won, of course. A person could do anything they put their minds to. Especially out of sheer spite. Luna landed the final kill shot on the main leader of the group.
As for Ginny's hands turning blue, she didn't notice that she had been touching the ink that was on her paintball suit when she had changed. She was elated about their victory and was too excited to see what they'd do next.
When she did notice, she had already been two Sex on the Beaches in and didn't care about what she was going to do next.
See, the club they went to was one of those new new places. Also, Muggle. According to Hermione, if you're going to do something you might regret, do it in front of people you don't know.
It was like a deep-sea theme with low light that lit white things up, and in the front of the dance floor, they had giant drums covered with neon paint. One of those colors being blue.
Ginny was incredibly tipsy by that point, she tossed the sticks away and pounded on the drums full of blue paint with her hands.
Next thing she knew, she and Hermione were stumbling into Harry and Ron's apartment at four a.m. Hermione, who got rather handsy when she was drunk, sauntered off to Ron's room. Ginny barely made it to the couch.
When she woke, her entire body hurt, just blinking gave her a headache, and her mouth felt like it was full of cotton.
"You look like you had fun."
Ginny lifted her head and glared at Harry who was eating cereal in his armchair.
"What time is it?"
"About six."
"Please tell me the afternoon."
"Nope." He popped the 'p' and grinned. "Nice dress."
Ginny tugged on the hem of her green cocktail dress.
"Thanks," she muttered, burying her face into the cushion.
"What's that on your leg?"
She glanced and saw several dark circles.
"Paintball."
"Are you only going to answer in one word sentences?"
"Yes."
"One more question."
"What?"
"Why are your hands blue?"
Ginny held up a hand and found it completely stained a vibrant blue, darkest on her fingers and lighter near her wrist.
"Shit."
"Well…" said Harry, grinning. "You have something blue for our wedding tomorrow."
"SHIT!"
