One year since the start of the new invasion of the Martians, I'm in the field with my team; Hermione, Luna, Fleur and Krum. The Enemy has gotten further than they had during the first Invasion, or the Great Martian War. We are deep inside enemy lines, as we get the message that the Magical world has fallen into the conflict, due to the results of her majesty calling out the life debt all Magical's have to the Crown.

My hope is that we aren't called to the front like Ron has, he's commanding a tank battalion but he isn't dead yet.

The cool night air was filled with the sounds of massive machines that the Martians were constantly building from the allied lines. He looked around the magically dug pit that was covered by compacted and charmed dirt as a roof. A window faced the Martian encampment, the fire that was charmed to not produce smoke. The others were sleeping as he grimaced, watching as the tide of lice rushed forward to collect the metals that were used in the battlefield. Wasteful, in his opinion but he was only a teenager in a war that was a continuation of the first.

Sure, it meant that the would-be TriWizard Tournament was cancelled as all able-bodied men and women from all across the world were to answer the call to arms. He had been placed with Luna Lovegood, Fleur Delacour, Victor Krum and Hermione Granger as a deep enemy information gatherer. They had been for the past nine months anyway, seeing and collecting new information.

That also meant new Martian machines, three new ones had shown up. Tonight saw one of them, the new Beetle machine. Heavily armored, six legged metal machines that had one purpose only; Protect the Lice from any attack. Beetles carried a single beam like weapon on the "head" on the thing, which created a powerful energy current that could easily punch through tank armor and incinerate organic flesh in a heartbeat. These weapons were only medium classed weapons though, as the Beetles seemed to not need anything else. Nightly attacks were common but not very often seen happening.

At least, not anymore, not after the Beetles showed up and made sure the Lice were protected.

"Anything new, Harry?" The calm, deep voice of Victor Krum asked, waking up beside him, eyes watching out of the window.

"Nothing really, just another night of Lice and Beetles swarming as usual. Hopefully, the people that are handling our food and other necessities can actually get an apparition point down so we don't have to wait hours on end." Harry said, giving the once famous bulgarian Seeker a look.

Victor had left a family, fiance, and promising lifestyle to fight with Harry, Fleur, Luna and Hermione. He, out of them all, should be very upset by this but no, he was clearly not. He had told them it was because his family had fought in the first invasion of the Martians and he didn't want his family or future family to suffer the same fate.

However, this war had cost more than it seemed, Magicals in the fight were becoming mandatory for all units on all fronts, at least one or two per squad or so. This didn't include the rations that were needed for those that were gathering intelligence it seemed. Harry and his team had faced several days without food and it was costing them, as his team needed food. He was already tempted to call on Dobby the house elf to get them food so they would have to worry.

The ground shook as the Allies started carpet bombing from the air, as thousands of Lice screamed out before they were silenced entirely. The Beetles took aim and started cutting down the bombs in mid-bombardment, cutting the Lice casualties down immensely. Harry spotted a few of the Iron Spiders rushing to the remains of the Lice, picking them up in their metal tentacles and carrying them away to the Martian encampment. He grimaced at the Tripods based infantry of the Martians worked tirelessly. They would have to move up further soon or get spotted.

The apparition points are finally up, but it seems that the Martians are pushing into Russia and China. They have been winning quite violently against the nations, even after the fact that they could have won easily against them in sheer numbers. It seems the new Machines that are being produced have been very successful against the Russians and Chinese.

Ron was also injured but was able to survive due to his fellow soldiers. No word from the Higher ups if we'll be getting reinforcements anytime soon.

Harry winced as he was shoved back into the trench from the force of an Iron Spider's head exploding from the long ranged tank shell that had connected. He hated that the Magical were now upgrading the armaments of the Muggles to reach out this far into the Martian territory. These long ranged artillery strikes were meant to tear apart the seemingly unlimited Iron Spiders down in numbers.

The Herons were lumbering forward and they were followed by the new commanding units, nearly two hundred meter tall "Titans". Towering over the battlefield, these gigantic machines had massive cannons that made the Heron's energy cannons seem like small arms fire. The massive energy bolts that the Titans fired tore gaping holes into the Allied lines. The 'body' of the Titan tripods also had three curved domes that were able to spin, but also had rapid firing energy cannons. These cannons were able to accurately pinpoint and shoot down Allied fighters from the sky.

Three of these Titans were in command of this army that headed towards the front, but Harry and his group crawled through the trenches that they had been making with magic. They were pushing deeper to get a better view of the Encampment that the Martians had in Germany. It was very slow progress and even more so, it was a dangerous move in broad daylight but Hermione and Luna had gone back for equipment and supplies and wouldn't be back until they got a new camp set up.

Fleur muttered in heated French as dirt rained down on them from a missed shell, Victor taking up the rear as he used magic to cover up their tracks. Harry found a hill and used the Trench camp spell to carve a hole into the hill and climbs inside. That was enough crawling around for one day. The French beauty fell on top of him, making him smile before kissing her cheek and helping her up. Yeah, definitely done crawling for one day.

Victor Krum closed up the entrance behind him before carving out a window, as Fleur started setting up the apparition point for Hermione and Luna to come back. Harry checked his gun and started cleaning it before he stopped, finding the Veela straddling his hips. Clearly, she wanted some relief and so did he.
