Hogwarts detention

Chapter one Potion Commotion
10 AM Hogwarts, in the advanced potions class,
two 7th year houses sat quietly working on their thesis. All was silent except for one messy haired Harry Potter. He was humming 'livin la vida loca' by Ricky Martin, a popular muggle singer he'd become obsessed with over that summer. The song just won't leave his head! He hadn't realized in the mist of his humming that the volume he had started at was slowly rising. It had reached a point where Hermione could hear him on the other side of the table Harry, Ron, and herself shared. She glanced up at Harry and reached around Ron to poke his shoulder. He was startled and looked at her, and she put her finger over her lips and shook her head to let him know he was too loud. Snape was sitting at his desk across from them. Harry gives a nod to thank her. After a while though, he starts humming again. his volume hasn't changed at all. This time Ron lifted his head as the sounds reached his ears. Ron glanced at their professor and saw Snape was already looking at him; he ducked his head quickly, averting eye contact before turning slightly to whisper, "Hey Harry, mate. You should stop before the great bat hears you."
"Great bat, am I, Mr. Weasley?" said Snape. Ron blanched as the voice of professor Snape reached his ears. He gulped before looking up to see him towering over him. "Noo nooo sir" Ron stuttered out, hoping to avoid punishment. Hermione spoke up in defense of Ron.
"Sir, he was just trying to tell Harry to keep his volume down." She mouthed the words sorry to harry when she noticed his glare, he huffed at her.
Snape turned to Harry "Mr. Potter, do you think this is a band rehearsal?" he questioned Harry, who had gone red as all eyes were now on him. "No sir" Harry said "I know i'm in potions class." Snickers could be heard throughout the class room. Snape was not amused by Harry's cheek "Just because you stopped a war doesn't mean you get to back talk Potter. Detention saturday, as well as your two sidekicks for not stopping you sooner." He turned to go back to his desk when Hermione called out "But sir, we weren't- " Snape without looking, cut her off and replied "10 points from Gryffindor for each of you. You can thank Ms Grangers imprudence. "Thanks Hermione" Harry and Ron grumbled under their breath.
